3. From these magazines I have learned to put my main image in front of
the masthead to prove they are more important the the title.
Usually there is some smaller stories around the sides to attract people
if they don’t like the central image. A splash is used to give extra
information about exclusive things such as interviews or giveaways.

what it was like. The interview will also have questions about

5. The pitch
• I am going to make a film magazine called film reel. It
will consist of interviews, exclusive images, movie
reviews and giveaways. The article will be with a new
director who is making his first film and his experiences
on set. For the movie reviews I will be doing classic
movies that have come out over the years and many
different types of genres. The interview will be with
Ryan lock who is the director of the remake of the
invisible man and the interview will be about his
experiences on set and what it was like for him to win
the award for best director.
I will be doing print magazine because it is easier to
read and you can take it anywhere you want. Print is
also easier to use because you do not have to zoom in
and don’t have to wait for anything to load when you
want tot read it.

msn. We sat down with Ryan to talk about his film and what it was
like on set and what he though of his first time at the Oscars and
winning the award for best director.

Interviewer: so what was it like directing your first film?
Ryan: It was one of my best experiences I cant wait to do it again.
At first it was hard becaise everyone is always asking you questions
but it is very rewarding when you get to see the final product.
Interviewer: what made you want to direct the invisible man?
Ryan: it wasone of my favorite films as a cild even though it was in
blacka nd white and as soon as I heard they were making reboots
of classic universal monsters I knew that this was something I
wanted to do. I am proud to say the dark universe is back on track
since the mummy in 2017 was not the best film.
Interviewer: What was it like winning an oscar for you first film?
Ryan: honesly I was just making a film for people to enjoy I was not
aiming to win any awards. I am thrilled that I got an oscar for best
director and I hope to make more films thst pople will enjoy in the
upcoming years.

photos for my magazine but I will be using my own SD
which I have bought. I will need a camera and tripod
which will be my hired equipment. I will be taking the

2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the movie.

because it was another genre that I have not

18. I chose to do my flat plan like this for the double
page spread because since my article is a interview
with the director of this new film there will be 3
images in the first half of the double page spread
they will be behind the scenes photos from during
the interview. Underneath the interview there will
be a review of the invisible man which is the
directors new movie that was critically acclaimed.
Flat plan justification
The second half of my double page spread will be
movie reviews and I will be using secondary images of
the movies posters. I chose to do short movie reviews
because this is a film magazine and many different
genres of films will be covered in the magazine.
my front cover will have a central image which will be the
director Ryan Lock and around him will be other stories that are
in the magazine. Underneath the central image will be the main
cover line which will be about the interview that will be on the
double page spread. The mast head will be ‘Film reel’ because
it Is the name of the magazine. Under the masthead will be the
issue number and the date of the magazines publication.
Language justification
The interview will be informal because you get to know the type of
language the director uses and it is easier for people to read and they
may be more interested if it has came straight from the person I am
interviewing. The movie reviews will be professional and they will be
formal because I will be critically reviewing the films to help the
audience find out what the movie is like.
