1. Technologies used in production
I used a number of technologies in the creation of my final production,
these being:
• Canon 600D DSLR Camera
• A Lighting Rig
• Adobe Photoshop CS6
• MS PowerPoint
• Web Browser
2. Canon 600D DSLR Camera
• This camera was used to take the
model shots for use in my final
productions. This piece of equipment
was essential to take high quality shots
to match the quality of the magazine
design I had produced using
Photoshop. I used a number of
different lenses to take a variety of
shots in an effort to produce the best
possible set of shots. During my use of
this camera, I learned about a number
of different concepts used in the
operation of this camera, such as the
ISO of a shot and the use of Depth of
Field.
3. Lighting rig
• Used in conjunction with the
camera, the lights used in my shots
had to be set up in the correct
positions to ensure that the shots
taken were visible and suitable for
use in my production. I used a
high-key lighting setup to ensure
that my shots weren’t too dark to
see properly. I used a number of
online tutorials to ensure that I
achieved the best possible shots.
4. Adobe Photoshop CS6
• Photoshop was used heavily for the
creating and assembly of all the
elements of my final production. I
used Photoshop’s layering abilities to
assemble the elements of my
production in a way that was visually
pleasing as well as to remove the
backgrounds from the model shots
that I took. I used online tutorials
from YouTube to learn how to wrap
text around objects for my double
page spread. I also learnt how to
operate the airbrush tool to remove
blemishes from my model shots and
achieve a professional looking shot.
5. Microsoft PowerPoint
• I used PowerPoint to format my
research in an easy to read way
that wouldn’t clutter information
or make it difficult to read. This
allowed me to refer back to earlier
research much more easily and
reference it if needed.
6. Web Browser
• I used Internet Explorer to look
up information and watch the
tutorials necessary for me to
complete some of the tasks
needed, as well as upload the
work I had done to my blog.
Without the use of a web
browser, my production would
have been of a far lower quality
than with the use of it.
