2. One of the programs that I used numerous times
during my production stage was Adobe
Photoshop. Using it, I was able to use effects
that I was not able to use before this whole task.
For example, I used the colour changer brush to
make the model’s eyes red, while leaving the
background it’s regular colour. I also used the
lasso tool and the magic wand tool in order to
create the background that the model stands
against, whereas before the editing it was just a
black background.
Being able to use this technology was very
useful through out the creative process, as I
would not have been able to create all of the
effects I used without it. It was also very
informative, as I have learnt numerous image
manipulation skills by experimenting with it.

3. As well as Adobe Photoshop, I also used
Adobe InDesign for my contents page and
double page spread. This technology was
also very useful to work with during my
project, despite how difficult it was to master,
as it allowed me to use word-processing
features that could not be used on
Photoshop, such as text wrapping, column
work and being able to manipulate the
pictures in a way that I wouldn’t have been
able to in Photoshop.

4. In my research and planning phase and my
production stage, of course, blogging was a
very useful piece of technology as it allowed
me to document my process through each of
the creative stages of the task, and upload,
present, and store all of my research, planning,
drafts, and final products. I also found that it
was also very simple to use, and it allowed me
to use and experiment with multiple media
platforms.
I learnt numerous things about simple web
design from using this blog, as it allowed me to
experiment with HTML without much difficulty
and designing layouts for each post.

5. When working on the photography in my magazine,
I used a Nikon DSLR camera for all of the photo
taking. Despite this process being very new to me,
as I had not made much use of these cameras
before, I was capable of experimenting with different
techniques of photo taking before my main photo-
shoot. As an example, I learned how to operate the
camera simply, using the zoom and focus dials to get
a closer and much sharper image. I also learned
how to make my images look less blurry by using a
tripod to minimise hand shaking. Learning how to
use this equipment was very useful, as this
technology greatly assisted the production of my
magazine.
DIGITAL SLR CAMERAS
6. Social networks were a massive help while I was
in the production stages of my magazine. When I
was organising my photoshoots and focus group
meetings, I was capable of messaging my model,
and the members of my focus group using
Skype, so not only would they be up to date, but I
would also receive instant feedback. When
getting back feedback for my magazine, I not
only set up a focus group on facebook, but I also
made a post on my tumblr, extending the
feedback basis to more then just my friends.
