1. Adobe Photoshop CS3 I used Adobe Photoshop throughout the whole process of designing my product. The front cover of my magazine was produced using the software as well as the manipulation and editing of any images I inserted. At first, I was very unfamiliar with the use of Adobe Photoshop as besides from the Preliminary Task, this was the first time I had used it. At first, I found it quite difficult to adjust to the different uses of different symbols but throughout the time in which I used it, I grew confidence and had a good ability of using the software. I am now able to use Adobe Photoshop confidently and to a good standard in manipulating images and putting together a page. Whereas at the start of the project, I did not know how to use it at all.
2. Quark Xpress Passport 7 Quark Xpress was used to create the contents page and double page spread of the magazine. It took some time to get used to using Quark Xpress as it wasn’t as straight forward as Adobe Photoshop. The preliminary task gave me chance to get used to the software but I still didn’t feel very confident with using it until I’d made the first copy of my contents page. Now, I believe that I am a lot more confident using Quark Xpress and that the pages I produce on the software look a lot more professional compared to the amateur copies I produced at first.
3. Other Technologies I used a digital SLR camera to capture all of the images taken used on my product. In my prior experience, I had only used basic digital cameras so I had to adjust to the different settings that were there to use. At first, the pictures weren’t of a great quality and there are a large number that are blurred and distorted, not good enough for the use in my magazine. However, once I got used to capturing the images, they began to look better in quality.
