Eco-Friendly Interior Design: Tips for sustainable living
INSPIRATION
1.
2. These three music videos featured on the right
focus solely on dancing. There is no lip syncing
in any of these videos which (like my own
video) defies the conventions. The top video
(Chandelier) had ballet dancing throughout the
video with only one character on screen, the
style is quite simple and sort of similar to what
I want to achieve in the dancing shots in the
studio for my video. The middle one (Thinking
Out Loud) has two dancers (one of them being
the artist) that dance as a couple in a classical
style. The bottom video (Sorry) has much more
modern, fast paced dancing, it is more like
street dance. This video also has many dancers
in it. I think that by having dancing in my video
and no lip synching it makes it more
interesting to watch as it is not what a viewer
would expect from a music video.
3. These videos all defy conventions of a traditional music
video and do not have lip-synching. The top video is Royal
Blood – Out Of The Black which has follows a purely
narrative storyline. The story follows a person in a rabbit
suit which supports the alternative conventions of the song
by having a fairly surreal story. The second video is boards
of canada – dayvan cowboy. This video is made up of low
quality found-footage of a variety of things that seem to
be unconnected. This is an interesting way of constructing
the video by making it more abstract. This is similar to the
sort of effect I want to create in my music video. The
bottom video is About You by the band XXYYXX. It begins
with a series of shots of a record player, headphones, and
several girls walking. After 1:18 it then changes into long
edit slow motion shots of girls blowing smoke. None of
these videos have lip synching and I think that it makes
them more interesting to watch because they are
alternative and different to what someone would expect so
it holds the attention of the viewer and keeps them
engaged.
4. Here are some more interesting videos that I have been
inspired by as I want to defy the conventions of a music
video and not have lip synching. The top video is Sun
Glitters – High. It is similar to the idea behind my video as
it uses shots at night with strong lighting from flares and
sparklers (my shots have fireworks and flaming torches).
This video also has a lot of overlayed footage with lower
opacity that is faded in and out to create a dream-like
effect. This is another effect that I will be using. The
second video is Slow Magic – Youths which also uses many
overlaying effects like the last one. This video follows a
sort of narrative of a person in a colourful mask playing a
drum in a forest/field. Both of these videos give off a very
alternative or indie vibe which I am trying to achieve in my
own video. The video at the bottom also has no lip
synching despite being from very well known artists. It is of
two people running underwater and it very interesting to
watch, I think this is because it is visually striking. I hope
that much of my footage, especially of fire, has a similar
effect so it is as fascinating to watch.
