The music video uses retro VHS effects to create a first-person narrative and show glimpses of the artist's life, giving the audience enough context to be invested while still prioritizing her performance. Camera movements like dolly shots add energy and intimacy. The video has a circular narrative structure with the same opening and closing lines to focus on the song over the plot. Camila wears different colorful outfits and has seductive facial expressions and gestures to appeal to her young audience. Bright colors and natural scenery keep the video aesthetically pleasing while advancing the narrative. Diegetic and synchronous sounds further the relationship narrative and direct attention to Camila and her performance.

The document discusses how effectively an artist combined their music video with additional promotional materials like a poster and digipak. The music video established an overriding theme of found photographs that was carried through to the other pieces. The poster featured a light leak effect and photos from a pin board in the video. The digipak used cropped photos from the pin board and spine colors matching the poster to maintain continuity across materials. The goal was to create a cohesive package that represented the unsigned artist without conforming completely to folk music genre conventions.

The document evaluates the effectiveness of combining a music video with ancillary tasks like a digipak and magazine advert. It finds the combination is very effective because using consistent colors, fonts, imagery and themes across the products helps viewers easily recognize them as being related. Specific techniques used included a black and orange color scheme, photos of the artist with the signature sunburst guitar, and fairy lights featured in both the digipak and advert. While the brand identity is strong, it could be strengthened even more by including the female actor's photo in the digipak or editing techniques on the video.
The document discusses a student project to create promotional materials for a band's new album release, including a music video. The project includes two of the following: a website, CD digipack, or magazine advertisement. The group created a black and white music video with sea shots to enhance the narrative. As individual tasks, the student created a magazine ad and digipack influenced by the music video, using its images to portray the relationship between characters and incorporate the video's color scheme. Synergy across the pieces is achieved through consistent location, color, and typography choices to link the materials.
The document discusses how the combination of a band's main product (a music video titled "Alone in This") and ancillary texts (a website and digipak) are effectively linked. Key elements that link the materials include:
1) Using the main character's coat color from the music video as the font color on the digipak and website.
2) Including the same images from the music video on both the website and digipak to highlight key moments and set the scene.
3) Including a short message to fans on both the website and digipak to build relationship between the band and audience.

The document discusses how three media products - a music video, DVD digipak, and magazine advert - were designed to have consistent themes and visual elements to effectively promote a folk band called My Bubba & Mi. Key points of consistency included using rural imagery and locations from the music video in the digipak, incorporating a brown paper theme and reused photographs throughout, and styling the artist similarly across products to maintain the rustic aesthetic suited to the band's genre.
The document discusses the evaluation of a student's music video project for a song. It summarizes the song, album cover design, and video itself. The video received positive feedback from the target audience for fitting genre conventions of rap videos. The student made changes to improve the narrative by removing school scenes, adding empty rooms and family photos to emphasize loneliness, and changing clothing to appear more distressed. The student learned to effectively use software like Final Cut Express and Photoshop during the editing process and overcame challenges of self-filming with a camera.
The document describes the design of a website about reggae music. It includes a banner at the top linking to reggae. Under the banner are navigation buttons to access the 4 pages. A primary poster image on the homepage enlarges genres in the background. A side video plays reggae music and text explains the genre. Additional videos, images of upcoming events, and other posters celebrate reggae. The background depicts a beach relating to reggae's Caribbean origins. A blog includes an image of the author, search bar, and boxes dividing posts into rows.
The document discusses the effectiveness of combining a music video, digipak, and website for a pop music production.
The music video conveyed pop codes/conventions with some originality. The digipak maintained a constant theme across its 6 panels and included credits and social media links.
The website also followed pop codes with information about the artists and linked to social media. All the ancillary products were connected through repeated imagery like lights, locations, and an orange color tone. This created synergy between the music video, digipak, and website.
The document discusses maintaining a consistent house style throughout a creative project for a band. The creator aimed for a classic, stylish look using a black background, white text, and the decorative Exotica font. Photographs for the digipak were taken in the same location as the video to preserve similar conventions. Color schemes like white, black, red, and blue were developed and kept the style feeling sexy, vibrant, and recognizable across mediums to appeal to both indie and jazz audiences. In conclusion, the creator felt the video, print works, and magazine cover achieved the intended house style and would successfully promote each other.
The document provides details on the concept, narrative, performance, camera work, editing, and lighting for a music video. The concept involves a dark theme where the main character yearns for human interaction due to problems at home and school. It will be filmed at the singer's house and a park. The narrative will follow the character leaving her home and singing in the park. Close ups of the singer will show the emotions portrayed in the lyrics. A variety of camera shots and editing techniques will be used to keep the audience engaged. Natural lighting will be used to fit the dull mood, and grey filters may be added.
This document summarizes the design process and revisions made to a reggae music poster. The initial background used the colors orange, yellow, and green to represent reggae. The title was made 3D and neon green. Text provided history and genres of reggae. Images of reggae artists were found online. Based on feedback, revisions included changing the title color to black, moving text and images, and altering image colors to avoid copyright issues. The final poster featured a colorful background wrapping artist images with descriptive text at the bottom.
The document discusses the effectiveness of combining a music video, digipak, and website for a pop music production. It describes how each ancillary text conforms to pop genre conventions while adding original elements. The music video features two artists and conveys codes and conventions. The six-panel digipak maintains a consistent theme and links the artists' social media. The website provides information about the artists and links to their social profiles, maintaining synergy between the music video and digipak. All elements were researched and applied codes and conventions appropriately to create an effective combination of ancillary texts.

The document discusses how the different products created for a music project work together through consistent visual elements and themes. It summarizes how the front cover of the Digi Pak uses the same iconic image as the magazine advert to clearly link the two. Inside the Digi Pak, a solo image of one of the band members relates to themes in the music video of the members being separate. The track list and back panel complete the package with a minimalist design that ties all the elements together through a shared color palette, font, and visual motifs according to Goodwin's theory of recurring symbols.
Kelly Alade is creating a digipak for an album by artist Kamila. She has some initial ideas for the album cover layout and pose of the artist. Kamila will be posed in a confident and sexy manner rather than directly facing the camera, to make the cover unique. This pose relates to the music video and ensures continuity. The cover is aimed at a 12-25 female target audience. Kelly plans to use Photoshop to position text and enhance the cover image. She will also choose a bold, mature font that fits Kamila's confident style without backgrounds that could make the cover appear busy.

The document discusses how the colors, themes, and imagery in the artist's main product (music video) are effectively combined with the ancillary texts (poster and digipak).
The poster, digipak, and music video use similar dull colors that relate to the dark lyrics about a shooting. The performance parts of the video have an orange tint matching the text color on the poster and digipak. Black and white are used to convey an urban indie rock feel.
Imagery of sneakers referenced in the song's lyrics and a monochromatic style represent the dark world of the character and themes. Care was taken to choose fonts and logos that fit the band's style and created an memorable
This document discusses how the media product uses, develops, and challenges conventions of real media. It summarizes that the creator's music video, digipak, and poster used many typical conventions found in research, such as lip syncing and editing on beat in the music video. The digipak featured the artist's image and name and album title on the front with track listing on back. The poster featured the artist's image and name, album, and release date. Some conventions were challenged, like excluding narrative from the music video and not including critic quotes on the poster to prevent crowding. Overall, the media product drew from research on real conventions while also adapting them in some ways.
The document discusses the design choices for a digipak, CD cover, and poster for a music video project. Photographs of the sea and sky were enhanced for the digipak to match the footage in the video. A consistent color scheme, font, and model were used across the digipak, cover, and poster to clearly convey the product and create cohesion. Simplicity was prioritized to make the materials recognizable without being distracting.
My media product challenges and conforms to conventions of the pop genre and music video theory. It follows conventions like close-up shots to make the protagonist the center of attention, as well as featuring attractive, similarly aged actors to attract teen audiences. However, it also challenges conventions like direct addresses to camera. The digipak and advert also follow conventions such as featuring the artist's name prominently and including reviews, while challenging others like not including a message from the artist.
This document discusses how the media product uses, develops, or challenges conventions in several areas:
The advertisement uses a simplistic design but challenges conventions by giving the artist their own logo and not revealing which person is the artist.
The digipack develops conventions by only including lyrics for the main song and music video song, and challenges them by depicting the models in a serious rather than happy way like the advertisement.
The music video uses basic relationship shots and simple transitions but develops the audience's perspective and shows the end of the song, and challenges conventions with laughter during a sad scene and changing coloring during a realization.
The document discusses the effectiveness of combining a main product with ancillary texts while maintaining an underlying theme. The author's main product is a music video with a circus theme portrayed through costumes like a ringleader coat. Ancillary products like a digipak and magazine ad use circus elements like borders and matching color schemes to clearly link them to the main theme. Consistency across products helps build the brand and allows audiences to recognize related works, potentially increasing sales.

The document discusses stage 2 of Louis Biddles' research and experiments for a music video production. It provides guidance on researching production techniques from other works, assessing what techniques could be useful, and linking investigations to creative intentions. Louis describes experiments testing different camera shots and post-production effects to convey the dark, depressing tone and message of the song. Close-up shots and a gloomy lighting effect were successful in initial tests and will likely influence the final video.
The document provides an evaluation of a music video production. It discusses how the production used conventions of real music videos such as lip syncing. It also discusses the storyline, use of different locations, and how feedback was incorporated to improve the video. The evaluation highlights how technologies like video cameras, editing software, and presentation software supported the planning, production and evaluation stages.

The evaluation highlights how technologies like video cameras, editing software, and presentation software supported the planning, production and evaluation stages.
The document discusses the effectiveness of combining a music video with ancillary promotional products like a digipak and advert. It analyzes the use of consistent font, colors, motifs and stills from the video across all products to tie them together as a cohesive package. Specifically, it describes using the dripping color motif and pop culture references throughout, and bright colors and a messy video still on the digipak to entice viewers to watch the full, colorful video. The combination of simple but visually linked ancillary products with the busy video is deemed effective at promoting the overall package.
The document provides guidance for stage 2 of a research and experimentation process. It instructs the reader to research potential production techniques for their project, looking at a minimum of 3 related products, and collecting relevant materials. It emphasizes linking investigations to production intentions. The reader is then directed to analyze 3 specific music videos or images, assessing techniques they may want to employ or disregard. They consider the videos' styles, editing, visuals, and how they could implement these while fitting genre conventions and their artist's characteristics. They plan to approach their project with an abstract, unique style influenced by the research, without taking itself too seriously. Experiments are documented testing color grading, animation, and tracking shots to include stylistic elements.
The document discusses how the media product challenges conventions of real music videos, albums, and magazine ads. Specifically:
- The music video challenges conventions through its use of stop motion animation with figurines instead of real people. However, it also uses some conventions like title/end screens.
- The digipak challenges conventions by using the artist's own paint splatter artwork instead of photos, though it keeps other conventions like labeling.
- The magazine ad challenges conventions by exaggerating the album art instead of directly using it, while keeping key information like title and song.
Overall, the product aims to challenge conventions in unique ways while still providing essential information through recognized structures.
The document discusses Farzana Begum's short film project for her A2 media course, including how she used forms and conventions of real media to both challenge and develop genres. She drew inspiration from music videos like Raxstar's "Jaaneman" in incorporating flashbacks and filming in her home. Through audience feedback, she learned that her narrative was clear but could have benefited from more varied camera angles and additional scenes of the main character's boyfriend.
This document outlines experiments conducted for a music video project. It discusses researching production techniques, looking at 3 related music videos as examples, and assessing what techniques could be used or disregarded. It then analyzes the music videos in detail, focusing on editing styles and effects that create distinctive vibes. Experiments with lo-fi editing techniques, like distorted colors and vintage effects, are documented. Reflections note which elements will be incorporated into the final project for fitting the target genre.
The document discusses various theories and conventions of real music videos, websites, and digipaks that the student considered when creating their own media products. It examines how the student's music video follows conventions related to lyrics, genre, camerawork, editing, and exhibitionism. It also analyzes how the student's digipak and website compare to common conventions in terms of layout, colors, images, and navigation while striving to be unique. Overall, the student believes their products obey many conventions to appear professional while also challenging conventions to distinguish their "brand."
The document summarizes the stage 2 research and experiments for a music video project. It discusses researching production techniques from 3 existing music videos and assessing their applicability. Experiments with camera ISO, focus, and shooting angles are described. Flashbacks showing a couple will be included to tell a story. The video aims to appeal to fans of acoustic pop music through romantic scenes matching the heartbreak lyrics. It will fade in/out using different ISO levels and include various singer performance angles.
The ancillary texts for a band's single release, including a digipak and magazine advertisement, were designed to complement the style and themes of the band's music video. Images and colors from the music video were incorporated into the digipak's design. The front cover of the digipak and shots from the inside are prominently featured in the music video. While the magazine ad uses a photo of the band from a live performance instead of narrative shots from the video, it maintains consistency with the other materials through shared font and band information layout. Though the connection between the ad and video is weaker, the combination of ancillary texts is overall effective at marketing the single release.
The document discusses the effectiveness of combining a main product (a music video) with ancillary texts (a digipak and magazine advertisement).
The digipak uses imagery from the music video to create associations between the two. Colors, characters, and shots are replicated to link the products. Research on other music videos informed these connections.
The magazine ad focuses more on promoting the band as live performers. It includes a performance photo, reviews, and basic information. While it has less direct relation to the music video, the author believes the three products work together through consistent branding elements like font and an overall level of coherence. The ad may be strengthened by directly featuring the album art.
Overall, the author
The student challenged conventions in their music video by not including footage of the band singing. They also included diegetic noise in the form of a conversation, which is uncommon for music videos. To link all elements together, the student gave all parts a similar glowing style and color scheme. Audience feedback on potential album covers helped the student select and modify the final cover design. The student used various media technologies at all stages of planning, constructing, and evaluating their music video and album package.
Hannah conducted research on existing music videos in the same genre to inform the production of her own music video. She analyzed camera angles, set design, and visual effects from videos like "Tubthumping" and "Stacey's Mom." Hannah also looked at camera work and editing styles from "Walkin' on the Sun." For her album cover, Hannah researched different art styles but had trouble finding similar examples. Overall, Hannah's research helped her understand audience expectations but she wishes she had more time to conduct a more in-depth analysis.
The document provides details for a music video project. It includes research on Billie Eilish music videos and notes on camera techniques. The student selects "Sunset Lover" by Petit Biscuit as their song. Their idea is to film themselves and friends at a local fair to match the upbeat yet chill vibe of the song. Pre-production details shooting on phones at the nearby low-cost fair location on weekends with friends as the crew.
Brandon will produce a music video for the song "Can't Be Saved!" by Inaristakeover x kayudo. The video will feature clips of Brandon and friends having fun at various outdoor locations set to the fast-paced song. Brandon has identified the equipment he needs from his college and plans to edit at the college facilities. He will film with one friend who is also working on the assignment.
My media product develops and challenges conventions of real music videos and magazine advertisements in the following ways:
1) It uses trends like branding the artist's name at the beginning/end of the video and including extreme closeups of the artist, but challenges conventions by showing the artist with little makeup and pale skin.
2) It develops conventions through the use of visual effects, filters, and unique shot transitions, while also including shock factors like an artist smeared in paint.
3) It draws inspiration from real music videos and films but develops their ideas further by adding more subtle connections between shots and themes throughout the video.
4) It develops conventions of magazine advertisements through techniques like color picking and mirroring
This document provides an overview of the skills audit, research, and planning for a music video project by Jamie Brown. Key points include: strengths in visualizing music video aesthetics and asking others to participate, and weaknesses in concentration and Premiere Pro skills. Influences identified include Cole Bennett for unique effects, SSGKobe for style at a similar age, and Midwxst for simple yet appealing videos. Research evaluated angles, lighting, effects, and storytelling elements across various music videos. The target audience is males ages 16+ interested in underground rap.
The document provides an analysis of a student's music video project. It discusses the key elements included in the video such as close-ups of the artist, relationships between lyrics/music and visuals, and editing to match the music's tempo. Feedback from audiences on YouTube and surveys praised the editing but suggested adding more action shots and speeding up slow parts. The student learned new skills in researching techniques, filming, and editing with software like Adobe Premiere.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

2. Album Cover
• I am changing the idea for my album cover to make it more relevant
to my music video; I felt like the dancing part of the video was more
prominent than the smoking part so have my album cover featuring
only smoking could be misleading. I have changed the cover to
include stills from the video to really help connect the two parts. By
changing it to something that is more relevant it will help to relate the
ancillary task with the video more. My audience feedback was also
unsure about the smoking element so in order to attract a wider
audience I have removed that part from my media product.
• The album cover will experiment with opacity and layers to create an
abstract, alternative style.
• I am also including the band name on the front cover and using the
same pixelated style font that has connotations of gaming and
robots etc. which then reflects the name of the band. I have used
this font for the band name in the track numbers.
3. Magazine Advert
• The changes that I will be making to my magazine cover
post-feedback are that the main image will be changed
from the girl standing alone in a street to fireworks that
are also featured within the music video. These fireworks
are also found on the fairly simplistic CD as well so it
helps to tie in each part of my media product.
• I am also altering the text slightly; my feedback
suggested that to make it look more interesting I could
experiment with the size of the text. I will keep the same
font to maintain a house style but by altering the text size
it will make it more appealing as an advert.
4. Music Video
• I am including less footage of smoking in the music video, I have
made this decision because I don’t think it would add much to the
video and also allows me to focus more on the contrast and
juxtaposition part of the video.
• By taking out the shots of smoking and such, this will have an effect
on the style of the video as it will not lack a linear story from the
dancing girl. However I like this idea of creating a more abstract
video, the main idea behind it now will be the juxtaposition between
crowds and being alone which reflects the themes in the song of
feeling alone. Light will still play a key part in the video and I plan to
include more footage of the bonfire night, fireworks and fire. These
all create the feeling of night time and being alone that both support
my theme and ideas.
• To link it with my new idea for the album cover I will experiment in
the video with opacity and hopefully have shots overlaying each
other to make it more interesting.
5. Music Video (continued)
• The shots of smoking and such will not be entered into
the video which removes the footage of the girl in the
jeans and leather jacket which is a prominent punk/pop-
punk style and is recognised and classic ‘rebel’ which
relates to the pop-punk genre. The red lipstick is still
found in the dance footage.
• To make up for missing shots and prevent the footage I
have from becoming repetitive I will use my editing skills
to make the footage I have more interesting by
experimenting with the opacity and maybe the colours
and such.
