Analysis
Camera
In this music video, the lyrics do not have much relevance to the video. The music video
looks to be the bands footage. This would be relevant to the fans of the band as people who
follow the band would know that whilst making this album the band spent two weeks on
Zampatti Farm, Eagle Bay, Western Australia. The thing that stands out most about the video
is that the picture looks rather old which suggests it has been took on an old camera, since
this is quite a modern band. Despite this the song is quite slow and the use of the old
camera adds to the tone of the song. The videos are all different size pictures and all fit onto
the screen at once and have different effects on, because of the genre of the band, which is
psychedelic rock. The band also does some self-advertising, as half way through the video a
title appears, which says, ‘This is a Beard, Wives, Denim Intermission’. This is the name of
the album and the style of the title has been used to compliment the style of the old looking
video clips. Even though we see the band outdoors playing with a Frisbee and relaxing in the
location, we also keep on seeing clips of the band playing their instruments, which reinforces
the fact that this is a music video.
Sound
The lyrics of this song are totally irrelevant to the music video. However this is a common
trait of the band and their music videos. The lyrics give the impression that someone has
done something to him, which has changed his personality and views on things. However
most of the bands other lyrics do not match the videos.
Editing
The speed of the video is determined by the tempo of the song. When the song is rather
slow, the shots are in normal speed. Although when the song speeds up, the clips have been

2. edited in fast motion. These types of links are the majority of the focus, since music video
doesn’t really have a narrative that can be followed. Some of the videos also have a filter
over the top, which adds to the psychedelic nature and theme of the genre of the band.
