5. PART 1 – DEVELOP AN ONLINE
COMMUNIT Y
Add a membership program so that contributors can be a part
of the organization.
Add social elements such as discussion forums, and
encourage users to engage with the organization and each
other.
Create robust user profiles so that users can share detailed
information about themselves, their interests, and the games
they enjoy the most.
6. PART 2 – GAMIFY THE EXPERIENCE
Acknowledge and reward users for participation in charity
programs.
Earn experience (xp points) for participation and gain levels
over time.
Add unique badges/achievements for participation in each
event, as well as specific accomplishments relative to each
event.
Earn special status (bronze, silver, gold, etc.) based on
lifetime contributions to charity programs.
7. PART 3 – GOALS AND LEADERBOARDS
Establish well defined goals for events, and create relative
individual and group challenges for the community.
Create leaderboards for most successful events, most active
users (highest xp), and most generous users (highest charity
contribution status).
Develop long term goals for contributors such as “meta”
achievements (attend every event in 2013 for example).
Develop long term goals for the organization, share them with
the community, and demonstrate how the community is
helping to achieve these goals.
