Reflective Essay For Journalism
I selected journalism as my elective for this year because I wanted to continue the journalism
career that I began in middle school since it allowed me to write about topics that grasped my
interest and passion aside from writing required essays in a classroom setting. In addition, I
believed that this course would allow me to improve my writingskills by learning the ethical,
grammatical, and organizational concepts relating to journalism, such as the code of ethics, the
inverted pyramid, and the editorial hierarchy. I also hoped for the course to help me with
responsibility and time management since I knew I would have to write articles and have other
loads of works from other classes. Not to mention, journalism has allowed me to be motivated to
write an outstanding article not for the grade, but for the sole purpose to make the article right. In
middle school journalism was an extracurricular activity and this year I was graded on my
personal interests, my time management, and my writing quality rather than on the actual learning
of a subject. This course has challenged me to write outstanding pieces of work based on my
motivation and time management as well without as many guidelines and structure given. It also
made me a lot more confident since it requires interaction outside of class to acquire sources for
articles. Thus, through reporting I able to establish a rapport with people and build a network.
Overall, this course had helped me become a people person,

Analysis Of The Soup Nazi By Larry David
The famous episode from Seinfeld, The Soup Nazi , is loved and viewed by many. In this
episode, both George Costanza (Jay Scott Greenspan) and Jerry Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld) go to a
restaurant that supposedly has the best soup in the city , according to the locals. However,
everyone calls the owner of the soup restaurant The Soup Nazi because of his hard, cold
personality and his ability to refuse service to anyone who annoys him. The episode comically
portrays the fear which The Soup Nazi induces on his customers and the willingness of his
customers to come back just because his soup is so delicious (http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07
/04/the top 10 seinfeldepisodes?page=2). This episode represents only a small sample of the
countless comical and satirical works written by Larry David, the writer of the television series,
Seinfeld. Larry David is a comedian as well as a satirist. He is in many Saturday Night Live (SNL)
skits as Bernie Sanders, and was the co creator of the television series, Curb Your Enthusiasm. A
common theme throughout his works is his ability to take everyday problems and blow them
out of proportion. Larry David practices many techniques in his satirical pieces that explore
ideas of race and gender in order to bring across a message to society and entertainment to
viewers. Among Larry David s vast amount of satirical and comical pieces, one of the main brunt
of his jokes is race. Since Larry David is of Jewish ethnicity, he plays with the

Generational Equality
Generational Equality
From a young age, our generation has been told that all races, genders and religions are equal and
should be treated as so. I was fortunate to grow up around a diverse group of friends and could see
first hand the truth in that statement. Previous generations were never taught that all are equal. The
end of the previous generation was in the late 1960 s. This is around the time that blacks and all
races were finally gaining equality. Today, we don t rely on what values we learn as children so
much as what our friends and role models believe in. The use of social media has allowed anyone
to put their views into writing, and follow the views of others.
The neighborhood I grew up in was predominantly white. Those in the neighborhood who weren
t, also happened to be some of my best friends. The color of their skin didn t determine that. It
was the friendly attitudes and humor that did. Growing up, I and many other students have been
exposed to the different races and ethnic beliefs that positively permeate America. Our High
School has a very equal separation between major races. The people in my classes are all types of
races and ethnicities. This has been the case through middle school and all of high school. ... Show

Our grandparents grew up in the age where Martin Luther King Jr. was marching on Washington,
demanding equality. Race was obviously a controversial issue, and the beliefs of our
Grandparents were passed down to our parents. Our parents were able to experience the public
acceptance of all races, but were generally matured out of childhood by the time it occurred. The
lessons that they were able to learn during their life were then passed down to our generation. We
were taught that everyone is equal and to accept everyone who may not be the same as us. We are
the first generation to know what racial equality and acceptance

Chesley Sullenberger s Miep Gies, My Hero
Miep Gies, a woman who helped people during the Holocaust, showed her integrity when she did
not hesitate to help the Anne Frank family. She was not Jewish and she could have been killed for
advocating for the Frank family but she helped them anyways. My hero will have integrity because
he will know that his inner ethics must match up with his actions, this dependability he displays is a
very admirable trait. Chesley Sullenberger a commercial pilot showed his confidence when he

Beyle And Abrar Attack Essay
The Act
The eighth of July of 2011, Abukar Osman Beyle and Shani Nurani Shiekh Abrar pleaded not
guilty with multiple life sentences of twenty six counts for the capture and murdering of four
American citizens. On the eighteenth of February of 2011, Beyle and Abrar were two of the
nineteen pirates that had boarded the Quest and held the citizens hostage just off the Somalian
coast. Once their mission was done the pirates attempted to flee back to Somalia, but found their
escape impeded by the United States Navy. Throughout the altercation with the U.S. Navy, three of
the pirates (Beyle, Abrar and another pirate) fired and killed the four Americans hostages. As a
result, the Navy then secured the boat and took the remaining pirates into custody and had them ...

Beyle s reason for appeal is that the district court had insufficient jurisdiction over any charges with
relation to murder (Counts being 16, 17, 18, and 19) and as well as the consequent use of any
firearms (Counts being 22, 23, 24, and 25) due to the primary actions arising within Somalia s
territorial waters and not on high seas.
Abrar s argument is that he was denied his Fifth
Amendment and his Sixth Amendment. He specifically stated that he was not given the access to
any of his witnesses located abroad that could help justify his statement of being kidnapped and
involuntarily forced to work as a pirate. To conclude, both Beyle and Abrar were given a fair trial.
The court states that they did not deny Abrar to the Fifth Amendment right nor was the Sixth
Amendment he was able to disclose his witness material in his defense. However, in Beyle s
defense the locality of the murders, being thirty to forty miles the Somalian coast, laying within the
high seas and therefore being beyond the any territorial sea of any nation.

Analysis Of My Son The Man By Sharon Olds
Accepting Independence
Poetry is like a song without music, it has the ability to awaken your emotions and the ability to
tell stories that can paint beautiful, relatable, imagery in the viewer s mind. Upon reading the
poem, My Son the Man by Sharon Olds, she presents a unique view on her bittersweet
experience of watching her son gravitate towards manhood, Suddenly his shoulders get a lot
wider (line1), while realizing he is astute enough to escape his mother s strong hold, to learn the
way out (line 16). As a mother myself, I began to recognize how I can relate to the speaker s
challenges of understanding a child s need to test limits and break free from dependency. I realized
through the speaker s obvious allusions to Houdini expressing the need to break free, the contrast
used to convey the indirect references to Houdini, and the similes used to express emotion toward
reflecting back on a time of innocence, accepting the need of a maturing child s independence
proves the strength of a mother s love.
My Son the Man begins by comparing her maturing son with the allusion to Houdini, Suddenly
his shoulders get a lot wider, /the way Houdini would expand his body/while people were putting
him in chairs (1 3), similar to Houdini preparing for his next challenge involving an almost
impossible trick. Therefore, lines 1 3 is used to express the shock of a child s rapid growth while
learning to overcome the manacles of growing up, similar to the physical manacles

The Importance Of Greek Culture
Examining a culture one is not accustomed to can create a new found interest in the want to
experience different ways of life. Greeks value family, hospitality, patriotism, spirituality, their
homeland, conversing with one another and stranger alike, the beauty of the land, and the feeling
of being home. Traveling outside of the United States, wherever it may be, broadens a person s
prospective of what different cultures deem meaningful in life. I am beyond grateful and excited to
learn a new way of life and to be able to incorporate these new experiences into the American
customs.
Thinking about the traditional Greek person, I typically think blonde hair, blue eyes, and tall
stature. Conversely, this could not be farther from the truth. Racial mixing came as a result of
many centuries of war and hardships between foreign regions. A few things that remain persistent
in a Greek is the curiosity of all aspects of life, the feeling and need for adventure, and a warm
heart. Despite racial mixing, the traditions of Greek ancestry live on in the lives of the people that
fill Greece today. Another component that emphasizes the Greek person is the land. It is rather
easy to acknowledge the beauty of the Greek landscape, but fully accepting the impact it has on
someone is another story. The soil that Greece is built upon is said to be poor, but the sight of the
landscape is known to be breathtaking. I had never really thought about the land shaping the lives
of the people who call

The Adolescent Stage Essay
The adolescent stage is one in which the human being develops from being a child into an adult, or
from puberty to legal adulthood. The stage consists of the transition in both the physical and the
psychological contexts ( Adolescence | Psychology Today , 2016). The transaction of the adolescent
is the relationship between the environments and the person (Bosma Kunnen, 2001). This
interaction influences the adolescents development as they are in the stage of their lives whereby
the trying to attain autonomy of their lives from their parents/ caregivers (Bosma Kunnen, 2001).
To achieve development to emerge into adulthood there are many identity statuses one must go
through in order to achieve a sucessful development (Waterman, 1999). These identity statuses are
influenced by the psychosocial enviornment of the person and these are represented in identity
processes (Bosma Kunnen, 2001). Identity processes are immeadiate processing of data that affects
the identity and actually holds the identity at stake (Bosma Kunnen, 2001). However they are the
building blocks to developmental processes which is the identity growth and change over the
human life span (Bosma Kunnen, 2001). In the adolescent stage development is influenced by
many factors in transaction. Looking at the whole context is important so that the identity
development so that the analysis is individually based. The development will take a specific course

Deconstruction of Literature Matrix
Introduction
This comparison matrix comprises three articles which focus on data analysis in social media
marketing.
In An Examination of the Factors Influencing Consumers Attitudes Toward Social Media Marketing
.? Akar and Topcu point out that social media has become a phenomenon in marketing. (Akar and
Topcu, 2011) Marketers are beginning to understand the use of social media as a component in their
marketing and strategies and campaigns to reach out to customers. Promotions marketing

These investments can then be used to measure key marketing outcomes such as changes in
awareness levels or word of mouth increases over time.
Kumar and Michandani want marketers to identify social media users who are both influential and
particularly interested in the company s product or service category. Incentivize those influencers
to talk about the company s product or service. Use metrics to calculate the value of an individual
s influence. The authors developed a seven step approach to ensure a successful social media
campaign. The authors suggest that by developing and implementing this seven step method to first
identify the net influence wielded by a user in a social network and then to predict that user s
ability to generate the viral spread of information, businesses can identify the right individuals to
engage in social media conversations to promote WOM. Further, they found that by linking the
generated WOM to actual sales, social media can be used to induce positive WOM, spread brand
knowledge, generate sales and increase return on investment. (Kumar and Michandandi, 2012)
Conclusion
Social media marketing refers to the process of gaining website traffic or attention through social
media sites.
Social media marketing programs usually center on efforts to create content that attracts attention
and encourages readers to share it with their

How Did Tutankhamun Influence Ancient Egyptian Society
The reign of Tutankhamun had a significant impact on ancient Egyptian society due to the upheaval
the revolution of the very foundation of Egyptian beliefs by Tutankhamun s father Akhenaten
created, followed by the restoration of the original belief system during Tutankhamun s reign. In
order to explore this further, a brief background of Akhenatens reign needs to be looked at in order
to understand why the main religion of Egypt was changed so suddenly. Tutenkhamun came to the
throne as a young child, therefore he had advisers who would look after state affairs for him. Who
were they and how much control did they have over the young king? Finally the restoration of the
old gods and the relocation of the religious and political centers to... Show more content on

The political centre was moved back to Memphis whilst Thebes was re established as the religious
centre. Amarna was essentially abandoned. General Horenheb, who was ther King s deputy and
Regent, took control of the political and military affairs from Memphis whilst Ay, the visier, stayed
with the king and his queen and took reponsibility for religious matters. Tutenkhamun moved
between Memphis and Thebes for political or religious reasons. Once the administration had been
moved out of Amarna, an extensive building program was undertaken to allow the recognition that
the old gods had been restored and a strong leadership was once again in place. (Welsh, 2007)
The Restoration stele, found in the Great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak, is described by Ian Shaw as the
most important document of Tutankhamun s reign. It paints a very dire image of the state of the
kingdom when Tutenkhamun inherited the throne. It states:
...the temples and the cities of the gods and goddesses, starting from Elephantine [ as far ] as the
delta marshes..., were fallen into decay and their shrines were fallen into ruin, having become mere

Dynamic Characters In The Winter s Tale
In order to grow and learn, one must be dynamic and not static. The definition of a character
being dynamic is when a person undergoes an important inner change in their personality and/or
attitude. Static character is the opposite of dynamic; static characters are defined in such a way
that the character does not show any changes from the beginning of the story to the end of the
story. In Shakespeare s play, The Winter s Tale, there are a couple of characters that are dynamic,
but there are also some characters that are static. Dynamic characters are those who either learn
from a lesson or are otherwise changed by what they have faced and experienced. These type of
characters, also provide the most information for a characteranalysis because... Show more content

These type of characters do not change as much or even at all throughout the story. Also, these
static characters are mostly never the main character and they can be viewed as either good or
bad. The personality of the static character when they are introduced are the same personality
they have when the story comes to an end. In addition, all of their actions in between the story
stays true to their personality. An example of a static character would be the Joker because at
the beginning of the movie, the Joker is look upon as a homicidal, psychotical maniac. When it
comes to an end, the Joker is still a homicidal maniac, which is different from Batman who is
dynamic, because he never changed his personality throughout everything that he had to endure.
Another character who is static would have to be Scar from The Lion King. Scar is a static
character because at the beginning of the movie he is an evil and vile character who lives in the
shadows of his late brother, Mufasa. He also thinks only about himself because he wants to be the
king and he would do anything to rule all of the pride land, that his brother use to rule. Scar is a
static character because he keeps all of his traits and never changes up on his personality and
mentality even up until the very moment when he

Human Rights, A Non Governmental Organization
Hi all let me start by first elaborating on the background about various NGOs and there work in the
field of Human rights, A human rights NGO is a non governmental organization that works to
protect human rights and end human rights violations. The topic of human rights encompasses a
wide range of issues, including freedom of expression, right to due process, gender equality, and
freedom from poverty and violence. Many NGOs turn to the UN s Universal Declarations of
Human Rightsin order to fully outline organizational goals.
Human rights NGOs vary in their approach. Some NGOs perform extensive research in order to
document human rights abuses. These organizations serve as watchdogs, monitoring the potentially
abusive actions of governments. Many human rights NGOs work to bring public attention to
human rights abuses through information campaigns, NGO member updates, and coordination
with the press. By garnering public support of an issue, human rights NGOs can put intense
pressure on perpetrators to end human rights abuses. Human rights NGOs work at the local,
national and international level and may focus their efforts on government advocacy or grassroots
organizing.
I have chosen to write about Human Rights Watch, although a more familiar name we have all
became accustom too is Amnesty International, but after doing some research online and finding
out that Amnesty on some occasions have yielded to pressure not only from US Government but

Privatization Of Social Security System
Established by the federal government in 1935, the social security system is currently one of the
most costly items in the federal budget. The purpose of the system is to provide for Federal old
age benefits, and to enable social insurance and public assistance. The proposal of moving to an
entirely new system would give the people living in the United States their own individual
authority of controlling their own investments. If social security does not become privatized; the
system itself will turn unsustainable, the retired and disabled will not fully receive their earnings;
and the people of the United States will continue to have no control over their investments. Many
politicians have utilized the privatization of social security as a political platform. For example,
former President George W. Bush has had 47% of Republicans that has voted in support to
privatize the system. Presently, the payments received from the Social Security system grants
monetary payments to the millions of Americans that are either retired or the family members of
the retired and disabled for deceased workers. The federal government is held responsible for
collecting these payments. Back in 1935, the social security system was formerly known as the Old
Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI). During this time, it only took seventeen contributions from
workers to pay one retiree. In comparison to now, a quarter of the employed U.S households that
has contributed into the Social security funding

The Lack Of Education And Global Inequalities In Kenya
Global inequalities are the things that society identifies as not equal and unfair. There are many
inequalities in Kenya including income, life expectancy, education, water, gender and poverty
inequalities. Although these are negative problems, opportunities in Kenya have shown
improvement as people are starting to make a difference by sending more people to school and
giving children education they need and also food and water for people to survive. Amnesty
Internationaland Unicef are all apart of the world trying to make a difference. Amnesty International
is the world s largest and most respected human rightsorganisation. Amnesty campaigns against
abuse of human rights around the world. The other NGO that I have chose is UNICEF who
promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child in the world.
The lack of opportunities is a struggle in Kenya for women and children as they are a very poor
country and can t afford food and education for their community. The people that are affected by
this are women and children who are treated differently. Some of the many inequalities for women
are that they are paid less than men, this is due to gender inequality and discrimination against
women. It has scientifically shown that women are earning what men were paid in 2006 and will
take another 118 years for women to be equally paid the same as men. Another inequality for
women in Kenya is that they are less educated than men, this is evident as they have less access to
education,

Why Our Brains Love Horror Movies By Sharon Begley
The Paranormal Activity, Saw, and the Walking Dead series are thought to be some of the best
horror films and thrillers. Some people who might not like horror genre might wonder why
people are watching these productions. Sharon Begley from The Daily Beast identifies in her
article Why Our Brains Love Horror Movies, that people are watching these movies because
horror genre movies give audiences a powerful feeling of emotional and emphasize old fashioned
belief about morality (Begley, 2011). She compares her argument to the younger generation and
older generation s correlation of watching horror movies to remark her arguments. She primarily
focuses on the statistical research and studies from experts, such as John Edward Campbell at
Temple University and Stuart Fischoff of Psychology Department at California State University.
She believes that people with boring, relatively calm, and uneventful lifestyles will mostly seek to
watch horror movies in order to express their excitement into their live. Sharon Begley has made
excellent claims and with sufficient evidence to explain why people love to watch scary movies
and why others do not. Although it seems like she presented a well thought argument, some horror
fans might not agree with her arguments when she assumes that horror genre appeals only... Show

enjoy horror films while others do not. She hypothesize that this need for excitement accounts for
why this genre is popular among teenagers and younger generations, since the desire for watching

Commentary On Speak By Laurie Halse Anderson
1. Teen activist and 2014 Nobel Peace prize winner Malala Yousafzai said, I raise up my voice
not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard . For whom have you
raised your voice? One of the most compelling books I read in my life was called Speak by
Laurie Halse Anderson. It is a story about a young high school girl who was raped by the
quarterback of her high school s football team one night at a party. This immediate damage of this
traumatic event was her ability to speak out about what happened to her that dark night. As an
eighth grader, I was very frustrated at the fact that this young girl had so many opportunities to
bring justice to her rape, but never did all because she was still suffering from her experience. By

reveal my sexuality to another person. While I am not comparing rape to homosexuality, I am
stating I understand the angst and self hate that the main character of Anderson s book felt.
Growing up, I was told being gay was a one way ticket to Hell and how since God hates faggots,
so should I. When discriminatory remarks like these were made around me, something inside of
me shrunk and I instantly became silent, almost like they were speaking about me. Feelings like

Hinduism Religion
Considering that Hinduism lacks a uniting belief system, what makes up the Hindu religion is
Sanarana Dharma, which is also known as Hinduism, an alternative label that is preferred today.
Hinduism is the traditional religion of India. Sanatan Dharma is one of the oldest religions known
to mankind and Hinduisms religionis still in practice today. The spiritual expressions of Sanatana
Dharma range from extreme asceticism to the extreme sensuality, from the heights of personal
devotion to a deity to the heights of abstract philosophy (Fisher, M.P., 2005). Hinduismhave been

Another belief is that though Hindu mythology mentions a class of evil beings, opposed to the
celestial spirits, essential Hindu philosophy does not believe in any concept of a central Devil or

ascribed to human ignorance (Fisher, M. P., 2005). These actions determine the course of life and
the life cycle for the soul in its subsequent life. Virtuous actions take the soul closer to the Supreme
Divine, and lead to a birth with higher consciousness. Evil actions hinder this recognition of the
Supreme Divine, and the soul takes lower forms of worldly life. All existence, according to
Hinduism, from vegetation to mankind, is subjects to the eternal Dharma, which is the natural law

Emotions In A Midsummer Night s Dream
In the play A Midsummer Night s Dream, by William Shakespeare, emotions and beliefs can shape
people s view of the world. This play is about two lovers, Lysander and Hermia, running away into a
forest because they can t marry each other in their hometown, Athens. Two other characters,
Demetrius and Helena, find out about their plan eventually and go to look for them. They did so
because Demetrius admires Hermia, while Helena admires Demetrius. When they eventually find

special that Helena isn t. By doing this she starts comparing herself to Hermia. Helena cries, I
am as ugly as a bear, (2.2, 100). Helena is calling herself a bear, this beast, this monster that she
only sees. She s comparing herself to a bear that doesn t exist. The idea fear makes people see
monsters where there are none is also affecting Hermia. Hermia is afraid that Lysander will
leave his lover for her, that she will be betrayed. Hermia dreams, Help me, Lysander, help me!
Do thy best to pluck this crawling serpent from my breast, (2.2, 151 152). Hermia is scared that
in her dream, the snake would bite her but Lysander was just standing there looking at her and

It keeps all of the parts connected to it through the use of different connections configured
through the use of a north and south bridge. Depending on the architecture of the PC, these areas
become fairly different. However, the CPU is located always on the north bridge, and is
connected through either a land grid array socket or a pin grid array socket, depending on if you
have an Intel or AMD CPU. The RAM is also connected through the use of the north bridge. The
north bridge generally is to access data fast. The south bridge is where the mass storage is located,
along with any I/O for the computer. This includes USB ports, and audio ports or sound cards, and
even the video card. This is due to the lesser amount of information that some of the connections
need. Obviously, with advancements in recent years, the speeds that the south bridge supports have
increased tremendously. For example, a SATA port on the south bridge can transfer

The output is based on a function, usually a step function or sigmoid function (basically a
rounded or differentiable step function). The neuron should output a 0 until it fires when it
should output a 1. This allows it to be used as a logic function. For this case the neuron should
fire for only one letter/character (and an interfered equivalent) and for all other possible cases it
should not fire. The strength of a neural network is that it can learn or be taught a pattern and
recognise this pattern. From this it should be able to make decisions for cases it has not seen
before. There are many methods for teaching a neuron, most relying on derivation to find the
slope of the so called weight space (some rely on brute force, but these are seldom used). The
basic Gradient Decent rule acts on the slope of the weight space and will be used for this report.
Method Teaching The code was written in m code and implemented by MathWorks Matlab
R2011a. The artificial neuron is taught by manipulating the values of the elements in the weight
matrix (W in the code) until the error in the output matrix (from the dot product of the teaching
set (X) and W) is lower than a set number (0.005). This is achieved with a while loop. Within the
while loop is another while loop which loops another error checking loop though each of the
vectors of the X matrix. The code edits each of the elements of the W matrix by using the equation:

Macbeth s Downfall
British politician William Pitt once said that [u]nlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those
who possess it; and this I know ... that where law ends, tyranny begins . Pitt s assertion is
substantiated by William Shakespeare s 17th century tragedy entitled Macbeth, where the
protagonist Macbeth commits unspeakable crimes in his pursuit of power, including the murders of
many innocent people such as King Duncan I of Scotland, Macduff s entire family, and his friend
Banquo. Consequently, Macbethbecomes paranoid and is ultimately slain by Macduff at the end of
play. Macbeth s lust for power leads him to his downfall as it causes him to slowly metamorphose
from a courageous, loyal, and noble general to a brutal, cruel and inhumane tyrant.... Show more

This includes murdering his friend and ally Banquo, who has done Macbeth no harm, as well as
attempting to murder Banquo s innocent son Fleance. Macbeth killed Duncan in order to make
himself king of Scotland, but he fears that his felony will be futile in the long term if Banquo s
descendants, rather than his own, are destined to wear the crown. In order to prevent his worst
fear from becoming reality, Macbeth hires assassins to assassinate Banquo and his son Fleance, in
an effort to prevent the witches prophecies about Banquo from being fulfilled. Macbeth attempts
to tamper with fate even though fate is an inevitable course of events that is predetermined by
God and is beyond human control. Macbeth kills Banquo in order to satisfy his greed and, thus,
he must pay the consequences for his actions. Additionally, Macbeth developed hubris, believing
that he is invincible and nobody can slay him. Consequently, Macbeth s hubris slowly becomes his
dominant character trait. This is evident when Macbeth visits the witches at his own free will.
After the witches give him the three apparitions, Macbeth presumes that the witches apparitions
can never come true and, therefore, he is invulnerable (Shakespeare 4.1.104 105). Macbeth s
hubris lingers to the very end of the play, even when he knows that his defeat is inevitable. When
Macbeth finally realizes the witches deception during his fight with Macduff, Macduff suggests
that Macbeth should capitulate. In turn, Macbeth replies, I will not yield,/ To kiss the ground
before young Malcolm s feet,/ And to be baited with the rabble s curse./ Though Birnam wood be
come to Dunsinane,/ And thou opposed, being of no woman born,/ Yet I will try the last
(Shakespeare 5.8.32 37). This quote bespeaks the magnitude of Macbeth s hubris. Macbeth refuses
to surrender to his enemies and demonstrates that his pride is so

Lord Capulet Get Pardoned In Romeo And Juliet
Why would anyone get pardoned or punished in Romeo and Juliet? All the characters played a
part in the problems that occurred. The Prince says, Some shall be pardoned, and some
punished. If that is true, who would be left? In Romeo and Juliet, Lady Capulet should be
pardoned. Lady Capulet was trying to help Juliet move on with things in her life and when Juliet
said she didn t want to get married, Lady Capulet wanted her to talk to Lord Capulet. Find thou
the means and I ll find such a man. But now I ll tell thee joyful tidings, girl (Romeo and Juliet

The Watchmans style of policing stain purpose is to keep people from getting into disputes, by
keeping the peace. This style of policing focuses mainly on the the people who violate the rules
of the law. This style of policing is also a more strict form of law enforcement of the criminal law.
These watchmen belong to what is called a watchmen department. Their focus is solely on
resolving problems or arguments, but not always being able to prevent all disputes. This particular
department s goal is to try and keep the peace among citizens and to maintain order as much as
possible. And sometimes there are problems when using this method. Officers need to be careful

Colonial city and industrial life was very important to the American Colonies in the 17th and

busy before, during and after the war. These were a major part of the colonies. Boston was one
of the largest port cities. Boston had two busy coffee houses in addition to northern and southern
mail posts. At the bottom of its piers, docks were 1800 to 2000 feet long which allowed them to

Jeremy Bentham And John Rawls s Approach To Utilitarianism
The idea in utilitarianism is that the moral worth of an action is determined solely by its value in
providing happiness or pleasure as summed among all conscious beings. It is a form of
consequentialism, meaning that the moral worth of any action is determined by its outcome. Thus
the utilitarian maxim: the greatest good for the greatest number. The largest contributors to
utilitarianismwere Jeremy Benthamand John Stuart Mill. [1]
The objection that I am going to focus on in this essay is a broad one but also I believe the most
important and valid objection to the theory. The objection is that Utilitarianism ignores individuals
and individual rights.
John Rawls rises what I believe to be a very good point in his objection to ... Show more content on

Basically as that of an impartial, sympathetic spectator who imaginatively identifies with every
other member of the society thus conflating all their desires within one experience. [5] This
allows the society to balance individual needs and desires, gains and losses as if they were one
individual. The problem with this of course is that a society is not one individual person. This
approach treats the different individuals in a society as if they were of no more importance for
ordering of society then the different stages of an individual s life are for its ordering. But a
society is composed of different and distinctly individual persons, each with its own life to lead,
goals, ambitions, points of view, desires and so on. People cannot be simply cashed out for
experience since boundaries between individuals are of far greater importance and in fact define
the very object of moral concern.
These objections were also raised by Thomas Nagel who claimed that utilitarianism treats the
desires, needs, satisfactions, and dissatisfactions of distinct persons as if they were of a super
person or one mass person [6] as well as David Gauthier who said utilitarianism supposes that
mankind is a so called super person, whose greatest satisfaction is the objective of moral action.

Creating A Solid Ecommerce Marketing Strategy Essay
Niche stores offer value in a crowded marketplace.
While most companies stick to catering to the masses, specialized businesses are cornering the
market by selling unique products and services to targeted consumers.
For example, eCommerce store Beardbrand only sells beard care products, ranging from natural
beard oil to mustache wax.
To compete with mass retailers, niche stores must build up their presence within their targeted
communities. That s why creating a solid eCommerce marketing strategy is important.
Here are five ways a niche store can jumpstart its eCommerce marketing strategy:
1. Answer questions on industry specific websites.
Create a niche community by answering questions from your audience.
Research 5 10 industry specific forums and start giving away free knowledge. If it fits your market,
try offering solutions on Quora and Yahoo! Answers.
People want helpful answers. So, avoid vague responses; they won t spark conversations or entice
people to learn more about your company.

Social Aspects Of Islam Mohammed
I have a feeling that talking about this rather sensitive topic will raise hell and will indeed upset
many who actually deeply believe that their bloodline goes back to the Prophet of Islam
Mohammed (PBUH). However, I strongly believe that it is about time that we talk about this
phenomenon, which only congregate our ignorance and backwardness.
Growing in a conservative and religious environment, many social aspects of life in Morocco did
not make sense to my head, and my brain could and will never be able to digest how the vast
majority of Moroccans, regardless their social status, believe that they have all a sacred lineage to
the Holy House. They believe that their bloodline takes all the way back to the Prophet. This
includes the rich and the poor, the educated and the illiterate; they all claim some type of holiness
and show it off when opportunities occur and permit.
In a previous analysis, I talked about how Islam has been widely and abusively used throughout
Moroccan history to gain power and wealth. This has been proven and recorded in history books.
Each ruling dynasty used the banner of religion to overthrow the declining and fading dynasty.
When Islam was introduced to humanity, it introduced a doctrine, which promotes a social
equality and called for abolishing of social differences. Islam praises those who do good deeds and
abide by the Divine rules set by the Deity and His Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). There is no
single verse in the Holy Koran that praises a

The Importance Of Nonverbal Communication
Throughout the world people use numerous types of communication; However, not many realize
how often they use nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication is the act of speaking
with facial expressions, eye contact, gestures, and posture (body language). This type of
communication is just as important as any other, as it can portray the wrong message. The more
aware you become of nonverbal communication, the more aware you become at noticing you are
utilizing nonverbal communication and can alter your body language, facial expressions, and
eyes to portray the message you intended to from the beginning. Body language is a strong
purveyor of nonverbal communication. Whether you notice it or not, your body speaks just as
loud as you do. It expresses emotions, feelings, and attitudes, sometimes even contradicting the
messages conveyed by spoken language. Humans send and interpret such signals almost entirely
subconsciously according to Johns (2008). He attested that human communication consists of
93 percent body language and paralinguistic cues, while only seven percent of communication
consists of words themselves. However, in many different cultures, nonverbal communication is
a part of daily life and is expected. In Japan, people tend to bow at the waist as a formal gesture
expressing appreciation and respect towards a person. It can also be used as a greeting
accompanied by ohayo gozaimasu meaning good morning or konnichi wa meaning hello, good
afternoon . In America, service men and women salute the flag or someone of higher power
/rank as a sign of respect or admiration. This is where nonverbals contain the entire message.
Nonverbal communication also includes our posture, how we carry ourselves. Bad posture can
ultimately alter the message we are creating non verbally. When you walk into a room of people
you don t know, look around at how many people are sprawled and how many are isolated. People
who cross their arms over the chest are often keeping something to themselves, or they may even be
protecting themselves from something. Of course, this must be related to the situation. If the
people speaking are very comfortable with one another, the crossed arms could signify that one
person is

Analysis Of Jim Mccormick s Short Story Breaking Through...
The two stories Breaking through Uncertainty and Neighbours are both stories about how big the
benefits are when risks have been taken. The first short story is about how a skydiver must
overcome his own uncertainty, to save himself from certain death. While the other story is still
dramatic, just in a different tone; it s about a young woman, who must decide whether or not a
friendship is worth standing up for something that s right. The protagonists in both stories, have to
take risks, and they re both rewarded for taking those risks; one with his life, and the other with a
stronger friendship. Even though the skydiver is risking his life, the protagonist in Neighbours had
more gut to do what she had to do, where is the skydiver just let second nature take over. Above all,
the protagonists both did experience serious risktaking moments, and they both benefited for the
greater good.
Breaking Through Uncertainty by Jim McCormick is about how a skydiver is plummeting to his
death, and he has got to figure out how to save himself. All the while the skydiver must deal with
his self doubt. In paragraph eight, we see actually how much danger the skydiver is in I looked

A Research on Sexually Transmitted Diseases
A Research on Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) STDs are among the very significant and
preventable public health issues affecting the society and the globe at large today. In the
development stage of human beings, it is of significance that they involve themselves in sexual
activities. At this development stage, it is of note that adolescents mostly are at risk of
contracting STDs. This is in all cultures because sexual activity is highest during the adolescent
stage. This calls for early intervention to help them deal with this health problem. Educating the
adolescents to abstain, and use contraceptives in early sexual activities, are the most important
factors to deal with this issue (Oncel, Kulakac, Akcan, Eravsar Dedeoglu, 2011). Knowledge of
STDs does not have to influence the sexual behavior. Most adolescents are ignorant on how STDs
transmit. Lack of sexual information is the main cause of the increase in sexual activity among the
youth. Many male and female youth ignore the physiological and psychological development of
their bodies. This research aims to examine the sexual knowledge and behavior of adolescents
towards the subject matter, STDs, to determine some factors including age, sex, and family status
affecting the involvement of the respondents in sexual acts (Oncel et. al., 2011). Research work
reveals that the awareness of the adolescents about sexuality and STDs appears to be inadequate.
This mainly is because of the ignorance of health workers.

Life And Role Of Stanislavski s Acting Style In Theatre
Stanislavski was born in Russia in 1863, and his birth name was Konstantin Sergeevich Alekseev.
He was exposed to the arts from a young age and as a child regularly visited theatres, operas and
ballets.
During the 1800s in Russia, actors were in a lower social class, so for almost half of Stanislavski
s life, he was limited to amateur arts to avoid casting social embarrassment on his family.
Stanislavski was the name he used to act without his family s awareness and he eventually became
professional when the Moscow Arts Theatre was founded in 1897.
The MXAT was effectively the first to ensure many, many hours were put into rehearsals and to
specially design all costumes, sound and lighting. This was the beginning of a realistic style within
theatre, which was opposed by many creative pioneers. Stanislavski felt no other option than to
become independent and set up the First Studio in 1912, moving away from the MXAT to combat
opposition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After being evicted, Stanislavski was desperate and eventually the state allocated him a small
house where he could rehearse. During this time, the MXAT also suffered and an acting tour led
by Stanislavski was its desperate attempt to gain funds. Some of the MXAT actors found new
teaching careers in the West, which spread Stanislavski s ideas.
Stanislavski s experimentation away from realism, into yoga and psychology, were ignored by the
Soviet government which appointed him as a Soviet Realism model. Stanislavski struggled to
accept the new laws on acting and backlash from the press triggered the heart attack which ended
his acting career. Stanislavski s manuals and ideas became the curriculum for theatre schools within
Russia, but many of his ideas were ignored and his public image was vastly contrasted to his private
image. Stanislavski lived in exile and rarely left his home in the 4 years before his

Analysis Of The Story Kwanzaa And Me
Kwanzaa and Me: Analysis A. Review of the Story The story provided an excellent discussion of
the many issues that surround race in schools, it centered on the topic about whether integrated
schools were more beneficial than segregated schools. This book focuses on young children in
the early grades, listening to parents and racial integration. The author wanted to find the truth
that is surrounding multicultural classrooms from those that are involved in it. This book
includes many side stories, which serve to explore the concepts, and displays them in a clear
way; it also added depth to the book. This book was well written and shows all sides of
multicultural education. It does not take one side in particular and it encourages people to
explore multicultural education in a new light. B. What impact did this story have on you? This
story has affected me in a few ways. One of the ways was how children think and see the world.
One of the ways is how children see and picture racial equality. They do this in a way that many
adults are not readily capable of doing, or choose not to. From the story early on we are told of a
girl named Kesha who distinguishes beyond the socio typical distinctions of black and white,
when she states, Okay, peach with spots for you and brown without spots for me, except his one

The purpose of my project is to discover how technology is represented within the film Tron. To

the text and various websites. While studying this film, I took into consideration factors such as
images and language used, how technology is related to society, and what symbols the creator used
to convey certain qualities of technology. In this research paper, I will begin by explaining the
significance of this project and my areas of research. I will then relay the focus of my

This description led me to believe that the outlook of technology at the time, when the Internet was
just being introduced to the public, was fear. People feared the unknown power of the new
technology of computers. Tron is a story of man battling his own creations, which represents
technology as a powerful force with destructive capabilities.
I am interested in this project because I have always liked science fiction/fantasy movies. I like to
think about the possibilities that technology holds for our future. I am also interested in how
technology influences our culture. I was in high school when this movie came out and had limited
access to computers at that time. I wasn t concerned with the impact of new computer technology
then, but remember hearing people say that machines would someday run the world. For
example, I worked for a grocery store in the 1980s and remember other employees worrying that
new machines were being developed that would replace the cashiers, and we would all be out of a
job. I think this movie would probably have a bigger impact now that computers are such a large
part of our everyday lives. Artificial intelligence is still a popular theme for science fiction movies,
so people must like to consider it a possibility. I ve read that there is a possible sequel to the movie

Essay on 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People
Stephen R. Covey s self help book is an influential communication for personal change. He
advises building from the inside out and offers a plan for moving from dependence to
independence and then to interdependence. The inside out approach starts first with one self,
which includes paradigms, characters, and motivations. To improve relationships with others,
we have to first improve ourselves by putting character ahead of personality. Covey prefaces the

Covey states that effectiveness is based on a principle he called the P/PC balance. This P/PC
balance principle lies in the balance of production of desired results to the production
capabilities. The PC principle is to always treat your employees exactly as you want them to
treat your best customers (page 58). Covey states that the P/PC balance is the essence of
effectiveness: It s the definition and paradigm of effectiveness upon which the seven habits in
this book are based (page 58).Covey calls those things that we have no control over the circle of
concern. Those that we can control fall into the circle of influence. He describes three areas that
problems fall into. They are direct control, indirect control and no control. Direct control
problems involve our own behavior. There are addressed in the three habits. Covey explains that
private victories precede public victories. Private victories are solving problems by working on
our own habits. Indirect control problems are solved by changing our methods. Public victories
are discussed in Habits 4, 5 6 and involve learning new methods of influence. No control problems
are those that we can do nothing about but accept them so that we do not empower these problems
to control us (page 86). It is how we change our habits, methods and

Support Group Support Groups
We will be leading a support group for women residents of the Stearns County jail. We will have
adult coloring books for the women, if they wish to color during our group time. Additionally, we
hope to have conversations about self esteem, healthy relationships, addictions, and any other
topics that the women would like to discuss. Purpose The purpose of our group is to provide
overall support for the women and boost the self confidence of the women residents. We recognize
that these women often have a low self esteem; therefore, we hope our meetings will increase self
confidence in the women. We will conduct the group by first letting the residents know that there
are boundaries and rules; no interrupting others, no judgement of others,... Show more content on

Cloud, MN 56303. Due to Stearns County being a public entity, their financial resources come
from the government and property taxes. Staffing at the Stearns County Jail consists of program
directors, correctional officers, and volunteers. The demographics within the jail are always
changing and it houses both males and females; however, our group will only be open to the
female residents. Membership Women residents of the Stearns County Jail can be members of
our group. This population was chosen because we both thought it would be a new learning
experience to work within the jail system; in addition, our supervisor at the jail suggested that he
needed an all female group. Furthermore, we liked the idea of stepping outside of our comfort
zones. We also though this group would be a little more challenging, yet we have high hopes
that this will be a great learning experience for the both of us. Recruitment We have created a
poster that our supervisor will hang up in the jail. The poster will include our group name, the
day and times we will meet as a group, and some topics we can discuss. We also made note that
we will be supplying adult coloring books. There will be a signup sheet provided by the jail staff
and women will sign up for our group prior to us meeting. The poster will hopefully interest the
women residents and get them to attend. Composition Members must be female. Members also
must be residents at the Stearns County Jail.

Energy Sanctions Case Study
Russia, Iran, and North Korea are three countries that have been up for recent discussion in regards
for increased United States sanctions. These sanctions are often used to enforce laws or certain
ideas. The Office of Economic Sanctions Policy and Implementation (SPI) enforces and maintains
sanctions in order to maximize their economic impact on target but minimizing the damage to U.S.
economic interest . Energy sanctions are often implemented for reasons including human rights
issues, terrorism exportation, and national aggression. Sanctions can be put on a country by just the
United Sates or Internationally. Countries such as Russia can be put under sanctions due to their
violation of human rights. Iran is questioned for increased... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This shows their inability to support their local civilians. Making it a key reason that Russia has
been placed under increased United States sanctions in the past. More recently Russia has been
looked at for increased sanctions due to their apparent meddling in the United States previous
election. It is hard to determine if previous sanctions greatly impact the economy and country as
a whole. It is said that it could simply be the fall in oil prices because, Sanctions hit at the same
time the price of oil, a major export and source of revenue for the Russian government, dropped
dramatically, by more than 60% between the start of 2014 and the end of 2015 (Nelson, 2017).
Even with the fall in oil prices the sanctions had to play some role in the dropped revenue and down
grading economy. With these sanctions affecting the financial situation that Russia is experiencing
it does not change the fact that they are still treating their civilians with poor respect for their
human rights. Human rights are not the only reason increased sanctions could be considered,
another reason could be their support for terrorism exportation. Second, sanctions can be increased
due to terrorism exportation. Terrorism exportations can be described as state sponsored terrorism.
Which basically means that a country is supporting violence against their civilians or other
countries civilians. Iran is being considered for increased sanctions due to their support of terrorism.

Jacqueline Förster Case Entitlement
Case Note Case C 158/07 Jacqueline Förster v Hoofddirectie van de Informatie Beheer Groep
Förster Judgment Facts of the case The Förster judgment concerns the legal dispute between
the student Jacqueline Förster and the Executive Board of the IB Groep. Förster was a German
national who moved to the Netherlands for her studies. During her studies she worked to support
her living costs and was able to receive a study grant from the IB Groep, an administrative body.
The IB Groep annulled the maintenance grant with respect to the period from July to December
2003 and requested that Förster repay the excess sums. Ms. Förster brought an action before
Alkmaar District Court. That action was held to be unfounded on two grounds. First, Ms. Förster
could no longer be regarded as a worker since she had not had any real and genuine employment
during that time period. Second, Ms. Förster could not claim entitlement to a maintenance grant
because she had not been integrated into Dutch society. Ms. Förster appealed against that
judgement before the Centrale Raad van Beroep. She claimed that she was already sufficiently
integrated into Dutch society to be able to claim a maintenance grant. In the alternative, she
submitted that she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, Article 18 TFEU is also applicable to maintenance costs for students. Furthermore, a five
year residence requirement is deemed appropriate for the purpose of guaranteeing that the applicant
for the maintenance grant is integrated into the society of the host Member State. The Court
concludes that the first paragraph of Article 18 TFEU does not preclude the application to
nationals of other member States of a requirement of five years prior

  • 2. Reflective Essay For Journalism I selected journalism as my elective for this year because I wanted to continue the journalism career that I began in middle school since it allowed me to write about topics that grasped my interest and passion aside from writing required essays in a classroom setting. In addition, I believed that this course would allow me to improve my writingskills by learning the ethical, grammatical, and organizational concepts relating to journalism, such as the code of ethics, the inverted pyramid, and the editorial hierarchy. I also hoped for the course to help me with responsibility and time management since I knew I would have to write articles and have other loads of works from other classes. Not to mention, journalism has allowed me to be motivated to write an outstanding article not for the grade, but for the sole purpose to make the article right. In middle school journalism was an extracurricular activity and this year I was graded on my personal interests, my time management, and my writing quality rather than on the actual learning of a subject. This course has challenged me to write outstanding pieces of work based on my motivation and time management as well without as many guidelines and structure given. It also made me a lot more confident since it requires interaction outside of class to acquire sources for articles. Thus, through reporting I able to establish a rapport with people and build a network. Overall, this course had helped me become a people person, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of The Soup Nazi By Larry David The famous episode from Seinfeld, The Soup Nazi , is loved and viewed by many. In this episode, both George Costanza (Jay Scott Greenspan) and Jerry Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld) go to a restaurant that supposedly has the best soup in the city , according to the locals. However, everyone calls the owner of the soup restaurant The Soup Nazi because of his hard, cold personality and his ability to refuse service to anyone who annoys him. The episode comically portrays the fear which The Soup Nazi induces on his customers and the willingness of his customers to come back just because his soup is so delicious (http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07 /04/the top 10 seinfeldepisodes?page=2). This episode represents only a small sample of the countless comical and satirical works written by Larry David, the writer of the television series, Seinfeld. Larry David is a comedian as well as a satirist. He is in many Saturday Night Live (SNL) skits as Bernie Sanders, and was the co creator of the television series, Curb Your Enthusiasm. A common theme throughout his works is his ability to take everyday problems and blow them out of proportion. Larry David practices many techniques in his satirical pieces that explore ideas of race and gender in order to bring across a message to society and entertainment to viewers. Among Larry David s vast amount of satirical and comical pieces, one of the main brunt of his jokes is race. Since Larry David is of Jewish ethnicity, he plays with the ... • 4. Generational Equality Generational Equality From a young age, our generation has been told that all races, genders and religions are equal and should be treated as so. I was fortunate to grow up around a diverse group of friends and could see first hand the truth in that statement. Previous generations were never taught that all are equal. The end of the previous generation was in the late 1960 s. This is around the time that blacks and all races were finally gaining equality. Today, we don t rely on what values we learn as children so much as what our friends and role models believe in. The use of social media has allowed anyone to put their views into writing, and follow the views of others. The neighborhood I grew up in was predominantly white. Those in the neighborhood who weren t, also happened to be some of my best friends. The color of their skin didn t determine that. It was the friendly attitudes and humor that did. Growing up, I and many other students have been exposed to the different races and ethnic beliefs that positively permeate America. Our High School has a very equal separation between major races. The people in my classes are all types of races and ethnicities. This has been the case through middle school and all of high school. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our grandparents grew up in the age where Martin Luther King Jr. was marching on Washington, demanding equality. Race was obviously a controversial issue, and the beliefs of our Grandparents were passed down to our parents. Our parents were able to experience the public acceptance of all races, but were generally matured out of childhood by the time it occurred. The lessons that they were able to learn during their life were then passed down to our generation. We were taught that everyone is equal and to accept everyone who may not be the same as us. • 7. Beyle And Abrar Attack Essay The Act The eighth of July of 2011, Abukar Osman Beyle and Shani Nurani Shiekh Abrar pleaded not guilty with multiple life sentences of twenty six counts for the capture and murdering of four American citizens. On the eighteenth of February of 2011, Beyle and Abrar were two of the nineteen pirates that had boarded the Quest and held the citizens hostage just off the Somalian coast. Once their mission was done the pirates attempted to flee back to Somalia, but found their escape impeded by the United States Navy. Throughout the altercation with the U.S. Navy, three of the pirates (Beyle, Abrar and another pirate) fired and killed the four Americans hostages. As a result, the Navy then secured the boat and took the remaining pirates into custody and had them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beyle s reason for appeal is that the district court had insufficient jurisdiction over any charges with relation to murder (Counts being 16, 17, 18, and 19) and as well as the consequent use of any firearms (Counts being 22, 23, 24, and 25) due to the primary actions arising within Somalia s territorial waters and not on high seas.
Abrar s argument is that he was denied his Fifth Amendment and his Sixth Amendment. He specifically stated that he was not given the access to any of his witnesses located abroad that could help justify his statement of being kidnapped and involuntarily forced to work as a pirate. To conclude, both Beyle and Abrar were given a fair trial. The court states that they did not deny Abrar to the Fifth Amendment right nor was the Sixth Amendment he was able to disclose his witness material in his defense. However, in Beyle s defense the locality of the murders, being thirty to forty miles the Somalian coast, laying within the high seas and therefore being beyond the any territorial sea of any nation. Analysis Of My Son The Man By Sharon Olds Accepting Independence Poetry is like a song without music, it has the ability to awaken your emotions and the ability to tell stories that can paint beautiful, relatable, imagery in the viewer s mind. Upon reading the poem, My Son the Man by Sharon Olds, she presents a unique view on her bittersweet experience of watching her son gravitate towards manhood, Suddenly his shoulders get a lot wider (line1), while realizing he is astute enough to escape his mother s strong hold, to learn the way out (line 16). As a mother myself, I began to recognize how I can relate to the speaker s challenges of understanding a child s need to test limits and break free from dependency. I realized through the speaker s obvious allusions to Houdini expressing the need to break free, the contrast used to convey the indirect references to Houdini, and the similes used to express emotion toward reflecting back on a time of innocence, accepting the need of a maturing child s independence proves the strength of a mother s love. My Son the Man begins by comparing her maturing son with the allusion to Houdini, Suddenly his shoulders get a lot wider, /the way Houdini would expand his body/while people were putting him in chairs (1 3), similar to Houdini preparing for his next challenge involving an almost impossible trick. Therefore, lines 1 3 is used to express the shock of a child s rapid growth while learning to overcome the manacles of growing up, similar to the physical manacles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Greeks value family, hospitality, patriotism, spirituality, their homeland, conversing with one another and stranger alike, the beauty of the land, and the feeling of being home. Traveling outside of the United States, wherever it may be, broadens a person s prospective of what different cultures deem meaningful in life. I am beyond grateful and excited to learn a new way of life and to be able to incorporate these new experiences into the American customs. Thinking about the traditional Greek person, I typically think blonde hair, blue eyes, and tall stature. Conversely, this could not be farther from the truth. Racial mixing came as a result of many centuries of war and hardships between foreign regions. A few things that remain persistent in a Greek is the curiosity of all aspects of life, the feeling and need for adventure, and a warm heart. Despite racial mixing, the traditions of Greek ancestry live on in the lives of the people that fill Greece today. Another component that emphasizes the Greek person is the land. It is rather easy to acknowledge the beauty of the Greek landscape, but fully accepting the impact it has on someone is another story. The soil that Greece is built upon is said to be poor, but the sight of the landscape is known to be breathtaking. The topic of human rights encompasses a wide range of issues, including freedom of expression, right to due process, gender equality, and freedom from poverty and violence. Many NGOs turn to the UN s Universal Declarations of Human Rightsin order to fully outline organizational goals. Human rights NGOs vary in their approach. Some NGOs perform extensive research in order to document human rights abuses. These organizations serve as watchdogs, monitoring the potentially abusive actions of governments. Many human rights NGOs work to bring public attention to human rights abuses through information campaigns, NGO member updates, and coordination with the press. By garnering public support of an issue, human rights NGOs can put intense pressure on perpetrators to end human rights abuses. In order to prevent his worst fear from becoming reality, Macbeth hires assassins to assassinate Banquo and his son Fleance, in an effort to prevent the witches prophecies about Banquo from being fulfilled. Macbeth attempts to tamper with fate even though fate is an inevitable course of events that is predetermined by God and is beyond human control. Macbeth kills Banquo in order to satisfy his greed and, thus, he must pay the consequences for his actions. Additionally, Macbeth developed hubris, believing that he is invincible and nobody can slay him. Consequently, Macbeth s hubris slowly becomes his dominant character trait. This is evident when Macbeth visits the witches at his own free will. After the witches give him the three apparitions, Macbeth presumes that the witches apparitions can never come true and, therefore, he is invulnerable (Shakespeare 4.1.104 105). Macbeth s hubris lingers to the very end of the play, even when he knows that his defeat is inevitable. This style of policing focuses mainly on the the people who violate the rules of the law. This style of policing is also a more strict form of law enforcement of the criminal law. These watchmen belong to what is called a watchmen department. Their focus is solely on resolving problems or arguments, but not always being able to prevent all disputes. This particular department s goal is to try and keep the peace among citizens and to maintain order as much as possible. And sometimes there are problems when using this method. • 28. Jeremy Bentham And John Rawls s Approach To Utilitarianism The idea in utilitarianism is that the moral worth of an action is determined solely by its value in providing happiness or pleasure as summed among all conscious beings. It is a form of consequentialism, meaning that the moral worth of any action is determined by its outcome. Thus the utilitarian maxim: the greatest good for the greatest number. The largest contributors to utilitarianismwere Jeremy Benthamand John Stuart Mill. [1] The objection that I am going to focus on in this essay is a broad one but also I believe the most important and valid objection to the theory. The objection is that Utilitarianism ignores individuals and individual rights. John Rawls rises what I believe to be a very good point in his objection to ... Basically as that of an impartial, sympathetic spectator who imaginatively identifies with every other member of the society thus conflating all their desires within one experience. [5] This allows the society to balance individual needs and desires, gains and losses as if they were one individual. The problem with this of course is that a society is not one individual person. This approach treats the different individuals in a society as if they were of no more importance for ordering of society then the different stages of an individual s life are for its ordering. But a society is composed of different and distinctly individual persons, each with its own life to lead, goals, ambitions, points of view, desires and so on. People cannot be simply cashed out for experience since boundaries between individuals are of far greater importance and in fact define the very object of moral concern. These objections were also raised by Thomas Nagel who claimed that utilitarianism treats the desires, needs, satisfactions, and dissatisfactions of distinct persons as if they were of a super person or one mass person [6] as well as David Gauthier who said utilitarianism supposes that mankind is a so called super person, whose greatest satisfaction is the objective of moral action. ... While most companies stick to catering to the masses, specialized businesses are cornering the market by selling unique products and services to targeted consumers. Social Aspects Of Islam Mohammed I have a feeling that talking about this rather sensitive topic will raise hell and will indeed upset many who actually deeply believe that their bloodline goes back to the Prophet of Islam Mohammed (PBUH). However, I strongly believe that it is about time that we talk about this phenomenon, which only congregate our ignorance and backwardness. Growing in a conservative and religious environment, many social aspects of life in Morocco did not make sense to my head, and my brain could and will never be able to digest how the vast majority of Moroccans, regardless their social status, believe that they have all a sacred lineage to the Holy House. They believe that their bloodline takes all the way back to the Prophet. This includes the rich and the poor, the educated and the illiterate; they all claim some type of holiness and show it off when opportunities occur and permit. In a previous analysis, I talked about how Islam has been widely and abusively used throughout Moroccan history to gain power and wealth. This has been proven and recorded in history books. Each ruling dynasty used the banner of religion to overthrow the declining and fading dynasty. When Islam was introduced to humanity, it introduced a doctrine, which promotes a social equality and called for abolishing of social differences. Islam praises those who do good deeds and abide by the Divine rules set by the Deity and His Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). There is no single verse in the Holy Koran that praises a ... • 31. The Importance Of Nonverbal Communication Throughout the world people use numerous types of communication; However, not many realize how often they use nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication is the act of speaking with facial expressions, eye contact, gestures, and posture (body language). This type of communication is just as important as any other, as it can portray the wrong message. The more aware you become of nonverbal communication, the more aware you become at noticing you are utilizing nonverbal communication and can alter your body language, facial expressions, and eyes to portray the message you intended to from the beginning. Body language is a strong purveyor of nonverbal communication. Whether you notice it or not, your body speaks just as loud as you do. It expresses emotions, feelings, and attitudes, sometimes even contradicting the messages conveyed by spoken language. Humans send and interpret such signals almost entirely subconsciously according to Johns (2008). He attested that human communication consists of 93 percent body language and paralinguistic cues, while only seven percent of communication consists of words themselves. However, in many different cultures, nonverbal communication is a part of daily life and is expected. In Japan, people tend to bow at the waist as a formal gesture expressing appreciation and respect towards a person. It can also be used as a greeting accompanied by ohayo gozaimasu meaning good morning or konnichi wa meaning hello, good afternoon . In America, service men and women salute the flag or someone of higher power /rank as a sign of respect or admiration. This is where nonverbals contain the entire message. Nonverbal communication also includes our posture, how we carry ourselves. Bad posture can ultimately alter the message we are creating non verbally. When you walk into a room of people you don t know, look around at how many people are sprawled and how many are isolated. People who cross their arms over the chest are often keeping something to themselves, or they may even be protecting themselves from something. Of course, this must be related to the situation. The two stories Breaking through Uncertainty and Neighbours are both stories about how big the benefits are when risks have been taken. The first short story is about how a skydiver must overcome his own uncertainty, to save himself from certain death. While the other story is still dramatic, just in a different tone; it s about a young woman, who must decide whether or not a friendship is worth standing up for something that s right. The protagonists in both stories, have to take risks, and they re both rewarded for taking those risks; one with his life, and the other with a stronger friendship. Even though the skydiver is risking his life, the protagonist in Neighbours had more gut to do what she had to do, where is the skydiver just let second nature take over. Above all, the protagonists both did experience serious risktaking moments, and they both benefited for the greater good. • 33. A Research on Sexually Transmitted Diseases A Research on Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) STDs are among the very significant and preventable public health issues affecting the society and the globe at large today. In the development stage of human beings, it is of significance that they involve themselves in sexual activities. At this development stage, it is of note that adolescents mostly are at risk of contracting STDs. This is in all cultures because sexual activity is highest during the adolescent stage. This calls for early intervention to help them deal with this health problem. Educating the adolescents to abstain, and use contraceptives in early sexual activities, are the most important factors to deal with this issue (Oncel, Kulakac, Akcan, Eravsar Dedeoglu, 2011). Knowledge of STDs does not have to influence the sexual behavior. Most adolescents are ignorant on how STDs transmit. Lack of sexual information is the main cause of the increase in sexual activity among the youth. Many male and female youth ignore the physiological and psychological development of their bodies. This research aims to examine the sexual knowledge and behavior of adolescents towards the subject matter, STDs, to determine some factors including age, sex, and family status affecting the involvement of the respondents in sexual acts (Oncel et. al., 2011). Research work reveals that the awareness of the adolescents about sexuality and STDs appears to be inadequate. This mainly is because of the ignorance of health workers. ... The author wanted to find the truth that is surrounding multicultural classrooms from those that are involved in it. This book includes many side stories, which serve to explore the concepts, and displays them in a clear way; it also added depth to the book.
