Compare And Contrast The Government Of The People And...
The people of America and their government each owe their commitment to obey certain obligations
to each other. Since each component of the nation must work together in order for it to function
properly, the people and those governing them each have essential duties they must obey to sustain an
efficiently operating country. The government of the people, by the people, for the people. (Lincoln)
both serves the people and is served by the people.
The government is responsible for serving and representing its people. Because the people of today
generally understand that no human being is born superior or inferior to any other, the government
must promote equal opportunity and rights for all. It is commonly agreed that all men and women

A Brief Note On Rough Draft Cryogenic Preservation
Rough Draft Cryogenic Preservation Imagine if one is struck with a life threatening disease and they
were just at the start of developing themselves and striving for their aspirations. A 14 year old girl in
the UK was diagnosed with cancer and she had the desire to live longer but knew she could not. She
found hope in a future life when she discovered an alternative to death, which was cryogenic
preservation, and she wishes that with this process, once revival, she would be cured from her cancer
(Bowcott). Cryopreservation is a new discovery that should be morally accepted as it will help create
advances in science and it is a voluntarily option for people who are will to have, taken into
consideration the ethical opinions. The process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vitrification helps to keep the organs and cells frozen in a glass state without the formation of water.
With improvements upon the procedure, it will help to make the outcome of revival more possible.
The organization, Alcor, also discovered that with cryonics, damaged tissues and diseases that was the
cause of the death, could be repaired and cured, so that when the person comes back to life, they will
be free from the harm (Alcor). This would help with research on incurable diseases, such as cancer,
and since the person is legally dead, there will not be issues in treating the fractured part of the body
that caused the death. With the much improved techniques and benefits under cryopreservation, it is to
be deemed as a reasonable, worthwhile experiment. People ethically choose the option of having their
body cryopreserved after death upon experimentation. The idea of revival after death goes against
many people s ethics. In a bioethics research library at the University of Georgetown, it found that
there are theological concerns involving the soul and what would happen to it as the body is under
cryopreservation and the body s revival after death (Bioethics). The people who have the concerns can
choose to not be cryopreserved and die normally because it is an option. There is

John Collier Irony
The Darkest Form of Irony
Part One: Analysis
I thought the introduction was a good one. When I read an introduction, I want to be introduced to the
characters and learn a little about the setting of the story and brings in the reader using just the right
amount of description and makes the ask for more. When Collier writes and peered about for a long
time on the dime landing before he found the name he wanted written obscurely on one of the doors.
What he wrote there said more than just the words on the paper, he sets the scene to a group home or
apartment building. He also sets the tone to a very spooky scenario, the third thing he did with in this
sentence by giving a brief and subtle description of who Alan has come to see, this is ... Show more

From his style to his commonly used literary devices he uses a lot of irony, from dramatic to dark
irony. It is very present in much of his work from the short blurbs for some of his other work like
Elephant Boy and Married to a Chimp ironic humor is very present within his work. He is also very
sneaky with his irony in the short story The Chaser the final thing the old man says is Au revoir the
direct translation of this is until we meet again. He also hints at this in the title The Chaser in the
context I believe he is using it in is a drink weaker drink taken after a strong one. In the case of Alan
the love potion is the strong drink, only costing one dollar to purchase. And the chaser is the glove
cleaner which costs 5000 dollars. Because the buyer of the love potion will most likely be poor at the
time he must later return to buy the glove cleaner to rectify his previous purchase of the love

Ender s Game and the Matrix
In a comparative study of texts we see that the connections between texts are realised through the
different textual forms used by each composer.
How accurate is this statement for the pair of texts you have studied in this unit? In your answer you
may like to discuss some or all of the following: form, structure, language features, context,
information ideas.
When texts are considered together, responders realise that texts are connected through their similar
themes and ideas displayed in their textual forms. Texts are allegories of human existence which
simultaneously examining contextual ideas. This is seen the two texts, the Wachowski brothers film

This idea is represented in the matrix by The Desert of the Real and the motifs of mirrors throughout
the movie. The reflections represent the confusion toward the blurred line between reality and
simulation. Similarly, this idea of the blurred line between reality and simulation is reflected with
Cypher s conversation with Agent Smith. A firm believer in the theory ignorance is bliss , Cypher
prefers the happier simulated life to the truth facing him. By emphasising this simulated environment,
the Wachowski brothers allow us to analyse our own dependency on technology for our lives.
Similarly, Card analyses this idea of human kind living in a simulacra in his novel Ender s game. Not
knowing the truth, Ender is deceived by his military superiors into believing that the real battle against
the buggers was simply a computer game. Real. Not a game. After this sudden revelation, Ender
cannot cope with his existence, and only finds redemption in religion. In both texts, the composers use
textual forms to highlight the idea that computers are used to create a simulation which absorbs the
user, hiding them from the realities of life.
Similarly, both texts use defamiliarisation to give representations on gender. The futuristic shifts are
used to reflect contextual shifts in gender paradigms. In The Matrix, this is apparent through all the
androgynous characters, such as Trinity, Switch and to some

Evaluating Safety Culture And Sms Implementation
Assessing Safety Culture SMS Implementation
Safety culture is defined as consisting of shared beliefs, practices and attitudes, that exist at an
establishment. Culture is the atmosphere created by those beliefs, attitudes, etc. (Middlesworth, M.,
February 19). In recent years, safety culture has become an aspect which most, if not all, companies
and organizations require in order to succeed. What is difficult is how to measure or assess the safety
culture currently present in that organization. What one can do to assess whether or not a company
promotes a positive safety culture is to look at 6 critical components: organizational commitment,
managerial involvement, employee empowerment, accountability system, communication and a
reporting system. A successful company with a positive safety culture will consist of the majority of
the aforementioned components. Without these elements, a company s safety culture will appear non
existent and even if a safety management system is utilized, it may not be enough to promote the
proper safety culture. By identifying specific characteristics of each component we will be able to
recognize how to build a positive safety culture and how to implement an effective SMS.

Hubble Space Telescope Essay
According to a newsletter sent out by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the
purpose of the Hubble Space Telescope was, and is, to gather light from cosmic objects so scientists
can better understand the universe around us. Up until the deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope,
all telescopes were Earth based and had the disadvantage of having to peer at the stars through the
Earth s atmosphere. The Earth s atmosphere provides a large amount of distortion when viewing very
far objects, like space, through a telescope. Placing a telescope in space eliminates the distortion and
provides images that are significantly clearer and in turn, easier to examine. The Hubble Space
Telescopes six different science instruments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fourth important instrument is the Near Infrared Camera and Multi Object Spectrometer, which is
basically Hubble s heat reader. It is very sensitive to infrared light which makes it useful for observing
objects tainted by gases and dust. It is also used to peer into the deepest parts of space. The fifth
important instrument is the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, which is a utility instrument that
separates the light from the cosmos into its component colors. It is also used to study black holes, the
composition of galaxies, and the atmosphere of planets around all stars. The sixth and final important
instrument is called the Fine Guidance Sensors, which target devices that lock on to guide stars and
measure their positions in relation to the objects being viewed. The sensors also perform celestial
measurements.
The Hubble Space Telescope is powered by solar cells which are solid state electrical devices that
convert the energy of light directly into electricity by an effect called the Photovoltaic effect. When
many solar cells are put together they are called solar modules which can also capture energy from
sunlight. When many modules are placed together it is called a solar panel. Hubble had many
problems finding funding for the telescope. The U.S. Congress questioned the proposed original

Nissan and Renault are collaborating on building universal platforms, with shared components and
where companies lead engine design in their area of expertise. For example, Renault specializes in
diesel as well as in innovation and Nissan focuses on gasoline and the manufacturing process. They ve
increased their purchasing power because they buy supplies for twice as much cars (6 millions).
Consequently, the alliance has boosted profitability, market capitalization and sales in 192 for both
partners (Nancy DuVergne Smith, 2004). Reasons for an alliance instead of merger and the benefit
from synergies The making of the alliance was motivated by the enthusiasm of Ghosn to develop
potential synergies, where both firms maintain their operational freedom. The foundation of the
alliance focuses on the need for the negotiation of a formal equity joint venture because Renault and
Nissan must evaluate their partners equities, capabilities and willingness to cooperate before selecting
the right hierarchy (Segrestin, 2003). Indeed, Carlos Ghosn, former Renault CEO before the alliance,
has always been focused in preserving the identity of the two companies as he strongly formulated: If

Similarities Between The Scottsboro Boys And To Kill A...
The Scottsboro Trials Influence The Scottsboro trial of the 1930 s is still one of the most famous racial
cases today. It impacted the legal system and changed the course of history for years to come. It has
even influenced and inspired literary work such as Tom Robinson s case in Harper Lee s To Kill a
Mockingbird. The similarities between the Scottsboro case and Tom Robinson s case heavily outweigh
the differences. Thus it can be concluded that without the Scottsboro case To Kill a Mockingbird
would not have the storyline readers know today. The Scottsboro trials began on March 25, 1931 in
the town of Scottsboro, AL. The case consisted of 9 black boys being accused of raping 2 white
women on a train they had been aboard. The boys accused, later known as the Scottsboro boys were
Olen Montgomery, Clarence Norris, Haywood Patterson, Ozie Powell, Andy Wright, Roy Wright,
Charles Weems, Eugene Williams and Willie Roberson, ranging in age from 12 to 20. The two white
women claiming they were raped were Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. To Kill a Mockingbird,
although written in 1960, takes place in the 1930 s during the Great Depression. The quiet town of
Maycomb, in Alabama is disturbed when Mayella Ewell, a white woman, accuses Tom Robinson, a
black man of raping her. The Scottsboro case is still one of the most famous cases from the Jim Crow
era and it is clear that it influenced Tom Robinson s case. From just the foundations of the two cases it
is obvious there are many parallels between them. The Scottsboro case and Tom Robinson s case both
took place in the 1930 s during the Great Depression. Tom Robinson and the Scottsboro boys are also
accused of the same crime. Although the Scottsboro case involves 9 boys and 2 women and the other
case only includes 1 man and 1 woman it is clear what Harper Lee was trying to represent. In both
cases there was an extreme lack of evidence, Ruby Bates testified that she was beaten and bruised by
the repeated rapes and that she lost consciousness, regaining consciousness only when she found
herself on the way to the Scottsboro jail. In fact, numerous witnesses and the arresting officers saw her
fully conscious when she and the boys were taken off the train. The physician

Donald Justice s Poem Incident In A Rose Garden
Live While You Can
James 4:14
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are nothing more than
a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Donald Justice wrote a poem called Incident in a Rose Garden, showing readers the true fact that life
is nothing more than a vapor. It evaporates almost as quickly as it is made. However, there is beauty in
it as well as surprise. He portrays this theme throughout the poem by using contrast and irony.
Furthermore, there are many people that are scared of death and for good reasons. Although death is
final and cannot be undone, it is a beautiful thing. Mr. Justice shows this by using the literary device
of contrast. During the poem, Death is amid the rose gardens. When people think of roses, they
usually think of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Donald Justice uses situational irony to establish to readers that death is sometimes unexpected. The
gardener realized this by saying I want to see my sons/ Once more before I die./ I want to see
California (Justice 17 19). The gardener realized almost too late that life is short. This is apparent in
his sudden push to see family and foreign places. Even though Death is not coming for the Gardener,
it was an important lesson that the Gardener learns. Many people believe that they will never die or
that they deserve to live forever. When, in fact, no one is owed life and no one should have a sense of
entitlement. In the poem, the master addresses death: Sir, you must be that stranger/ Who threatened
my gardener./ This is my property, sir (Justice 16 18). From this quote, readers infer that the master
does not believe that Death has any reason to be on his property. In other words, the Master thinks he
deserves a tomorrow even though he does not. Mr. Justice uses situational irony to show readers how
death will sometimes come at the moments one does not

Green Bay Packers Characteristics
The Green Bay Packers are one of the most notable teams in the NFL and all of sports. The four time
Super Bowl champions have a few negative qualities, including bad defenses in the past and recent
years of unsuccessful playoff runs. However, the negatives do not outweigh the team s powerhouse
offense and Super Bowl trophies. The team was founded in 1919 and had very little success until
1929. This is the start of the Green Bay Packers that most people know as Titletown . From 1929 to
present day, the Packers have won 13 championships. That being the most championships won by a
single team in NFL history. While the Green Bay Packers are a very successful team, they have had
their up s and down s.
One of the team s biggest strengths is their powerhouse offense. But the man under center is what
makes that powerhouse offense run. That man is Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best
quarterbacks in the league if not the best. His statistics are unbelievable. He has the highest
quarterback rating in NFL history at 103.8, while the second closest is 98.9. He has thrown 300
touchdowns to only 74 interceptions. That being a 4:1 touchdown to interception ratio, also the best in
NFL history. One of his most impressive streaks was his success at home. In 2015, he threw an
interception at home. The last one he threw at home before that was in 2012. He went three years
without throwing an interception at home. Truly a remarkable feat. In 2011, Aaron had one of the best

Hottentot was the face of the inhumane performances that abrogated her basic human rights. Not only

Every half day, I would let the student know that she is given 10 minutes of extra time in recess to
play with her favorite doll, and if she bites anything and anyone, the time will be taken away minute

the doll, hence the unwanted act should subsidize. Therefore, I will be using punishment II, or
negative punishment, which is taking away a pleasant stimulus to decrease an undesirable behavior. To
make sure he behavior is consistent, I would watch her in all types of setting (class, recess, etc.) and
clarify all type of undesirable behavior (biting herself, other people, objects, and animals).
Presumably, the biting occur to draw attention to the child herself. If I do not give her the attention and

On the other hand, I would reinforce her to smile and shake hand with me and other students when she

The Stephen Glass Film
Before watching the movie, I knew about the Stephen Glass case but I did not know detailed events
that led up to his Glass s case being exposed. In my opinion, the movie did a great job as far as
casting. The actors in the movie understood their roles and played it well although there were some
moments that could have been done differently. In my opinion, there were some parts in the film that
could have been dramatize and much more intense because the situation and seriousness of what was
occurring called for it.
To begin, the casting of the film was well thought out. The characters played their parts well
especially the main characters Stephen Glass played by Hayden Christensen, Chuck Lane played by
Peter Sarsgaard, and Caitlin Avey played by Chloe Sevigny. Christensen embodied Glass s persona so
well that it almost seemed like he was actually Glass. He was charming towards his coworkers and
persuasive as well. These characteristic of Glass was essential and needed to be seen ... Show more

The main problem I had with the film was the lack of intensity and seriousness when addressing Glass
about his false stories. For example, there was a scene where chuck took Glass to a building he made
up in one of his stories. In the moment Chuck asks Glass several times to confirm if the building was
real and Glass confirms that the building was just his imagination and creativity. In this particular
scene, I felt like Chuck should have been livid. Nevertheless, chuck did seem angry but not to the
extreme. Another scene that could have been exaggerated a bit more was when Chuck started to take
down all of the stories Glass wrote. At this point in the film, Chuck began to realize the abundance of
lies that was printed and published. If I was the head editor reading the lies published in my papers, I
would have been furious but Lane was calm and poised for the most part. He basically took down each

A Short Note On Loss Of Brand Reputation
1. Risk One Loss of Brand Reputation
A loss of brand reputation occurs from many different potential sources, but can be managed and
mitigate through appropriate steps before and after any potential incidents that could affect the
company s brand. It is vital to employ rigorous quality control monitoring, in order to ensure stock
meets regulation and public safety expectations of the market. Failure to monitor the quality of stock
can result in poor quality goods, or even unsafe goods being sold and associated with the company
name. Following up on quality control management, with distributors to ensure that stock continues to

Developing a contingency plan for emergencies both with the distributing partner, and within the
company will enable the company to respond quickly to maintain distributor relationships or make
adjustments for an emergency to mitigate the impact on the company s operations.
3. Risk Three Regulatory Changes Regulatory changes can have a positive impact on the company,
but can also incur operational costs. As regulation changes do not occur in a vacuum the company can
evaluate the potential impact of regulation changes and set aside sufficient funds before changes occur
to ensure the company continues to meet regulation demands. The organization can setup an internal
committee that can evaluate the impact of regulation changes being debated. The advantage of this is
leveraging some changes to the companies benefit. For example, if there is a desired change that
would enhance food safety, the committee may find that enacting the change would not incur a large
cost, would improve brand recognition to enact the change, and may choose to change company
standards whether or not the regulation changes. It can aid in planning how to mitigate operational
cost increases due to regulation changes, for example the pharmacy may face changing health
insurance regulation changes and the company would not only need to set aside sufficient funds, but
also institute a compliance plan upon the regulation changing.

Cultural Diversity In The Last Runaway By Tracy Chevalier
In Class 1.2
1. As we discussed in class, Honor has a hard time adjusting to life in the US; we could say that she is
experiencing culture shock.
Culture shock always occurs to people who migrated from a native country into a new country. In the
novel, The Last Runaway by Tracy Chevalier, shows Honor the protagonist, an English Quaker living
in Bridgport, England, migrated to the US with her sister, Grace. As Grace was supposed to engage
with Adam Cox and had to join him in Ohio, Honor came with her to flee a broken engagement.
However, as Honor and Grace arrived in the US and stayed about few weeks, Grace suffered an illness
called, yellow fever and this illness killed her. As a result, Honor faces new struggles in life, where she
had to overcome by herself, adapt into the difficult lifestyle in USA, and tell Adam about Grace s
death. The novel shows how Honor sees the differences between the US and England s nature, homes
and food.
The first difference between the US and England is the nature (plants and animals). Honor felt
bewilderment in the US s nature, she never had seen a covered bridge, Thomas, an elderly man offered
Honor to take her with Adam, he notice how Honor bewilderment the nature in the US. The bridges in
her homeland were stone and humped. Also, Honor studied the trees, like the oak trees and chestnut,
but she seemed felt different how the oak leaves were more pointed and less curly. She was
accustomed to the England nature. Furthermore, she was frighten when they were traveling in the
woods, because she hears a strange animals. She had heard that the woods were home to wolves...
other animals that did not exist in England (Chevalier 17). This shows how Honor had never heard of
this animal in England, so she felt frightening because she doesn t know what would happened to her
in the woods and what would those animals do to her.
The second difference between the US and England is the homes. Honor was surprised how America

Marxist Alienation In Nazi Germany
A defeated nation sending 12 year old children into the front lines, undying fanatical patriotism the
story of the Third Reich s struggle for survival and fight to the death seems to defy logic. The
application of the Marxist principle of the alienation of a worker from fellow workers is critical to
understanding how the Nazi Party retained its almost paradoxical hold on the populace through
paranoia and fear and how years of scapegoating fed a parasitic internal distrust embedded deep
within Nazi Germany.
To adopt the economic perspective required for viewing 1940s Nazi Germany through the lens of
Marxist alienation, the Nazi regime must be abstractified and analyzed as a business, and its subjects
as laborers. The Nazi regime, like a business, has only one purpose: obtaining value. For the Nazi
regime, that value is power for the Fuhrer. For a Nazi regime fighting a losing war, that value is also
whatever helps the regime in the war effort: reporting traitors, promoting loyalty to the Fuhrer,
willingly surrendering everything for the war, and most importantly, keeping Hitler in power. A
citizen, soldier, Jew, any citizen of Germany serves only one purpose to the Nazi regime: generating
value. In return, Germans are rewarded favor with the Nazi party: for some that means additional
power, for others, living another day.
Just as laborers compete for wages, Germans compete for that favor, be it Nazi generals competing for
Hitler s favor or a citizen betraying his Jewish

Challenges Chinese Immigrants Faced
Challenges Japanese and Korean Immigrants as well as Chinese Immigrants Faced in America The
United States experienced major waves of immigration during the nineteenth and twentieth century.
Many immigrants came to America seeking greater economic opportunity. However, the Japanese and
Korean immigrants, as well as the Chinese immigrants faced a great amount of racism while making
their way in America. For the Japanese and Korean immigrants, they faced challenges including:
segregated schools, the Gentlemen s Agreement, and the California Alien Land Law. On the other
hand, the Chinese immigrants faced challenges as well, including: the 1875 Page Act, unfair treatment
while working on the railroad, and The Chinese Exclusion Act. However, these ... Show more content

Both groups of immigrants had one goal in mind while in America. This goal was to seek money, live
a better life style, and return to their homeland being able to provide for their families. They faced
many hardships back home and they were determined to do what it would take to make a change for
themselves. However, these immigrants did not expect the unfair treatment that came along with the
work they set out to do in America. Japanese laborers were at first recruited to work on the sugar
plantations of the independent monarchy of Hawaii. Some of them left Japan in 1868 on a three year
contract. These men faced brutal working conditions and low wages which led most of them to return
to Japan. On the other hand, as mentioned earlier, the Chinese faced brutal working conditions as well,
while working on the railroad. The first Chinese were hired in 1865 at approximately $28 per month
to do very dangerous work. They lived simply and cooked their own meals, consisting of fish, dried
oysters and fruit, mushrooms and seaweed. Work in the beginning was slow and difficult. Many risked
their lives working in these conditions. The working conditions were harsh for these groups of
immigrants and they faced discrimination throughout their work.

Nonviolent Protest
Broken windows, car alarms, smoke in the air, the frantic screams of those who are attacked by the
raids of police officers are what come with the world of violent protest. Violent protest to a variety of
people may lead to a conclusion, but not for all of them. With nonviolent protest our words are used as
our weapons. We speak with the freedom of the first amendment, the right to civil disobedience and
the satisfaction that we solved our issues in a justifiable manner. All around the globe we crave the
immediate satisfaction of emotional rebellion regardless of the impact, which is why nonviolent
protest is more effective than violent protest.
In the world today, we see both nonviolent and violent protester use the act of civil disobedience. ...

E.L.F. used arson and burned down companies to try and achieve change and failed. With All things

Shameful Cry Of Gold Research Paper
On January 24, 1848, under 10 days before the marking of the peace arrangement finishing the
Mexican War, James W. Marshall, a 36 year old craftsman and jack of all trades, saw a few splendid
bits of yellow mineral close to a sawmill that he was working for John A. Sutter, a Swiss conceived
foreigner who claimed one of the colossal farms that spotted California s Sacramento Valley. To test if
the bits were trick s gold, which smashs when struck by a mallet, or gold, which is pliant, Marshall
attempted it between two shakes, and found that it could be beaten into an alternate shape yet not
broken. He told the men working with him: Young men, by God, I trust I have found a gold mine.
On March 15 a San Francisco daily paper, The Californian, printed the principal record of Marshall s
revelation. Inside two weeks, the paper had lost its staff and was compelled to close down its printing
press. In its last version it told its perusers:
The entire nation, from San Francisco to Los Angeles...resounds with the shameful cry of Gold! Gold!
Gold! while the field is left half planted, the house half assembled, and everything dismissed except

American Government
1. Define due process and its origins. Due process is defined as the administration of justice according
to established rules and principles; based on the principle that a person cannot be deprived of life or
liberty or property without appropriate legal procedures and safeguards. (Wilson, James Q. (2009).
American Government (9th Edition). Ohio: Strayed University.) The origin of due process is generally
understood to be found in chapter 39 of the Magna Carta. It is also found in the fifth and fourteenth
amendments. Due process is cherished by conservatives as one as the most significant legal principles
to emerge from the English common law tradition. (Carey, George W. (May 10, 2001). Due Process.

A trial in which the judge allows illegally seized evidence to be used, or in which the defendant has no
access to an attorney, is forced to testify against himself, or is denied the ability to bring witnesses
favorable to his cause, is not a trial that meets the standard of due process of law. The men who
drafted the Bill of Rights knew this, not only from their experience during the Colonial era, but also
from the history of Great Britain, which ever since the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215 had been
committed to expanding the rule of law. Today we tend to emphasize the relationship of rights to
individual liberty, but even those rights which are most identified as individual such as the rights of
persons accused of crimes still have a community basis. Rights in American history are not designed
to free the individual from community norms; rather, they exist to promote a responsible liberty, to
allow each and every one to be free from arbitrary power. In the areas of free expression, the Bill of
Rights carves out a space where dissenting voices may be freely heard, both for the benefit of the
individual as well as for the sake of the community. Rights of any kind are the community s protection
against the unwarranted interference in daily life by an all powerful central government. Rights
liberate both the community and the individual. Regarding the rights of the accused, the

I turn away from reassuring Len. If I don t I know I ll burst out yelling at him and then they might

who are forced to do begging because their societies fails in providing any good Flipside to them.
Beggars are seen in town, village, and city. They sit in the busy places like, banks, rivers, and temples.
They ask people to give them money, food, and anything they need. Beggary is connected to the

Chivalry And Loyalty In Medieval Literature
How many times have you thought or said out loud, that you wish things were how they used to be? A
common feeling, actually responsible for misrepresenting the realities of our past because it makes us
believe that everything then was much nicer, simpler, and maybe just better than how things are now.
Yet, the history we imagine is almost always entirely false and it is the job of historians to sift through
that prodigious past and figure out where romanticism ends and actual history begins. To be
chivalrous, you must be generous and courteous to your lady and women, as well as your fellow
knights. The legend of The Knights of the Round Table revolves around the Code of Chivalry
followed by honor, honesty, valor and loyalty. The Knights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Women were viewed inferior to men so in contrast, the idea of romantic love to arranged, placed
noblewomen on a pedestal where they would be worshiped. A lady of the knight s job was to
acknowledge the good and virtuous works which was being displayed by the knight, and to praise him
for being brave, and courteous. In result of the enlivening her knight, this kept him along the path of
chivalry, rather than straying from the realm of pride, vanity and selfishness (Blackwolf NP). Under
the feudal system, a noblewoman could inherit an estate from her husband. Upon a request to the lord,
a noblewoman could also send his knights to war. So, when her husband was off at war, the
noblewoman would act as a military commander and warrior of the medieval castle. Doing this,
noblewomen were important and useful protectors of the castle because they could hurl rocks, and fire
arrow at attackers. Some even dressed in armor (Winfield 2). As the progression of time, noblewoman
s acting role dwindled down from what they had in earlier years. Eleanor of Aquitaine was a notable
exception. Eleanor of Aquitaine, the queen of England at the time, ruled for her husband Henry II at
times, and later for her sons Richard and John, which was only done by few others. Unfortunately, the
decline of women s fortunes was also in the hands of the church. To try and regain control of religious
appointments and organizations, the

Chewing Gum Experiment Hypothesis
The topic that I researched was if chewing gum affected concentration. This was interesting to me
because I ve seen things on the internet that says Chewing gum helps you remember things or chewing
gum helps you concentrate and I wanted to know if it was true. A hypothesis is a prediction statement
that you can test, about the relationship between two variables. The hypothesis for this research is that
I believe that gum does help you concentrate because it helps you stay alert instead of getting
distracted or dozing off. To test this question, there would be two groups of people, one that are
chewing gum and one that are not. First, they are going to receive a sheet of paper with 100 basic
problems on it. Both subjects are going to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Random assignment is when someone assign a participant to experimental and control groups by
chance. This is done to minimize the preexisting differences to the assigned group. To do this, I would
need to give everyone one slip of paper, randomly chosen that says group 1 no gum, group 1 with
gum, group 2 no gum and group 2 with gum. This would make it so that the groups are chosen
randomly. The population would be ten in each group so that would equal forty people in total. These
people would be from the same school, and same grade level to ensure that they are around the same
age. I would ensure that i have a representative sample, a small quantity of something that accurately
reflects the larger population, by testing it on different ages so that it would represent the whole
population instead of just one grade level. Experimenter bias is a process where the person performing
the research influences the results in order to portray a certain outcome. This would not influence my
experiment because everything would be randomized and I wouldn t alter the results because I would
want to know the real answer answer to my research question. To overcome experimenter bias all data

The Importance Of Gross Motor Development
Motor skills involve movement of muscle in the body (John, 2009). These are larger movements such
as crawling, running, and jumping (John, 2009). Most of the gross motor development occurs during
childhood (John, 2009). Gross motor skills have two principals that determent how a child will
regularly develop (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). Head to toe development this
means the upper parts of the body will develop before the lower parts of the body (John, 2009).
Children develop these skills throughout play (John, 2009). A tree year old Toddler can be very active
therefore participating in activity that require movement, coordination, and balance can be beneficial
to help a toddler to develop their motor skills (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child can throw a
ball but catching it is more difficult. They start walking with good posture similar to an adult; they can
also walk backwards (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old can run which required strength and
balance, during running they should be able to rotate their trunk and swing their arms (John, 2009). By
the age of 3 a child walks up and down stairs alternating their feet without support which is possible
because their balance has increase (John, 2009). A 3 year old child also learns to jump from a step and
learn to jump forward (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). They start hopping at the
age of 3 ½ and also can stand on one foot (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). Skipping
requires sequencing and rhythm which makes it more difficult this include step and hop patterns. Fine
Motor Fine motor skills are the movements made with the small muscle of the hand (Jan, Beth
Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child gets better in their fine motor skill (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). They
are able to move their fingers independently and have better spatial awareness; therefore, these
children can engage in more complex tasks such as using a scissor, the first cutting skills start at the
age of 3 (John, 2009). Children of this age should be able to unbutton a shirt or eat with a fork without
assistance (John, 2009). They can also complete and insert puzzle pieces, picking up small objects
with the thumb and

Fiscal Policies And The Fiscal Policy
Before we talk about ways to assess fiscal policy of an economy, I would like to describe what we
mean by fiscal policies and why it is important for an economy. Fiscal policy is the use of government
revenues and expenditure to influence growth of an economy. Fiscal policies that increase demand in
an economy are called as expansionary policy whereas those which reduce demand are called as
contractionary fiscal policies. These policies are most effective in a fixed exchange rate regime with
perfect capital mobility while they are less effective if the exchange rate is flexible. These policies are
used to tackle cyclicality, external account imbalances and inflationary problems. In the following
sections, I will discuss describe various roles of fiscal policy, how the fiscal policies should be
designed, how to assess its sustainability. The essay will end with a brief policy recommendation on
fiscal policies which should be generally followed by the governments. The government uses fiscal
policy to achieve its short term and long term objectives. Short run objective mainly includes
macroeconomic stabilization by responding to various domestic and international shocks such as
natural disasters, terms of trade shock, financial crisis etc., while in the long run the government goals
can be to eradicate poverty, improve infrastructure or have structural changes in labor market.
Although countries broadly share these objective, but the priorities may change as per country s need

  • 2. Compare And Contrast The Government Of The People And... The people of America and their government each owe their commitment to obey certain obligations to each other. Since each component of the nation must work together in order for it to function properly, the people and those governing them each have essential duties they must obey to sustain an efficiently operating country. The government of the people, by the people, for the people. (Lincoln) both serves the people and is served by the people. The government is responsible for serving and representing its people. Because the people of today generally understand that no human being is born superior or inferior to any other, the government must promote equal opportunity and rights for all. • 3. A Brief Note On Rough Draft Cryogenic Preservation Rough Draft Cryogenic Preservation Imagine if one is struck with a life threatening disease and they were just at the start of developing themselves and striving for their aspirations. A 14 year old girl in the UK was diagnosed with cancer and she had the desire to live longer but knew she could not. She found hope in a future life when she discovered an alternative to death, which was cryogenic preservation, and she wishes that with this process, once revival, she would be cured from her cancer (Bowcott). Cryopreservation is a new discovery that should be morally accepted as it will help create advances in science and it is a voluntarily option for people who are will to have, taken into consideration the ethical opinions. The process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Vitrification helps to keep the organs and cells frozen in a glass state without the formation of water. With improvements upon the procedure, it will help to make the outcome of revival more possible. The organization, Alcor, also discovered that with cryonics, damaged tissues and diseases that was the cause of the death, could be repaired and cured, so that when the person comes back to life, they will be free from the harm (Alcor). This would help with research on incurable diseases, such as cancer, and since the person is legally dead, there will not be issues in treating the fractured part of the body that caused the death. With the much improved techniques and benefits under cryopreservation, it is to be deemed as a reasonable, worthwhile experiment. People ethically choose the option of having their body cryopreserved after death upon experimentation. The idea of revival after death goes against many people s ethics. In a bioethics research library at the University of Georgetown, it found that there are theological concerns involving the soul and what would happen to it as the body is under cryopreservation and the body s revival after death (Bioethics). The people who have the concerns can choose to not be cryopreserved and die normally because it is an option. There is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. John Collier Irony The Darkest Form of Irony Part One: Analysis I thought the introduction was a good one. When I read an introduction, I want to be introduced to the characters and learn a little about the setting of the story and brings in the reader using just the right amount of description and makes the ask for more. When Collier writes and peered about for a long time on the dime landing before he found the name he wanted written obscurely on one of the doors. What he wrote there said more than just the words on the paper, he sets the scene to a group home or apartment building. He also sets the tone to a very spooky scenario, the third thing he did with in this sentence by giving a brief and subtle description of who Alan has come to see, this is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From his style to his commonly used literary devices he uses a lot of irony, from dramatic to dark irony. It is very present in much of his work from the short blurbs for some of his other work like Elephant Boy and Married to a Chimp ironic humor is very present within his work. He is also very sneaky with his irony in the short story The Chaser the final thing the old man says is Au revoir the direct translation of this is until we meet again. He also hints at this in the title The Chaser in the context I believe he is using it in is a drink weaker drink taken after a strong one. In the case of Alan the love potion is the strong drink, only costing one dollar to purchase. And the chaser is the glove cleaner which costs 5000 dollars. Because the buyer of the love potion will most likely be poor at the time he must later return to buy the glove cleaner to rectify his previous purchase of the love ... • 5. Ender s Game and the Matrix In a comparative study of texts we see that the connections between texts are realised through the different textual forms used by each composer. How accurate is this statement for the pair of texts you have studied in this unit? In your answer you may like to discuss some or all of the following: form, structure, language features, context, information ideas. When texts are considered together, responders realise that texts are connected through their similar themes and ideas displayed in their textual forms. Texts are allegories of human existence which simultaneously examining contextual ideas. This is seen the two texts, the Wachowski brothers film The Matrix (1999) and Orson Scott Card s novel Ender s game (1985), through their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This idea is represented in the matrix by The Desert of the Real and the motifs of mirrors throughout the movie. The reflections represent the confusion toward the blurred line between reality and simulation. Similarly, this idea of the blurred line between reality and simulation is reflected with Cypher s conversation with Agent Smith. A firm believer in the theory ignorance is bliss , Cypher prefers the happier simulated life to the truth facing him. By emphasising this simulated environment, the Wachowski brothers allow us to analyse our own dependency on technology for our lives. Similarly, Card analyses this idea of human kind living in a simulacra in his novel Ender s game. Not knowing the truth, Ender is deceived by his military superiors into believing that the real battle against the buggers was simply a computer game. Real. Not a game. After this sudden revelation, Ender cannot cope with his existence, and only finds redemption in religion. In both texts, the composers use textual forms to highlight the idea that computers are used to create a simulation which absorbs the user, hiding them from the realities of life. Similarly, both texts use defamiliarisation to give representations on gender. The futuristic shifts are used to reflect contextual shifts in gender paradigms. In The Matrix, this is apparent through all the androgynous characters, such as Trinity, Switch and to some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Evaluating Safety Culture And Sms Implementation Assessing Safety Culture SMS Implementation Safety culture is defined as consisting of shared beliefs, practices and attitudes, that exist at an establishment. Culture is the atmosphere created by those beliefs, attitudes, etc. (Middlesworth, M., February 19). In recent years, safety culture has become an aspect which most, if not all, companies and organizations require in order to succeed. What is difficult is how to measure or assess the safety culture currently present in that organization. What one can do to assess whether or not a company promotes a positive safety culture is to look at 6 critical components: organizational commitment, managerial involvement, employee empowerment, accountability system, communication and a reporting system. A successful company with a positive safety culture will consist of the majority of the aforementioned components. Without these elements, a company s safety culture will appear non existent and even if a safety management system is utilized, it may not be enough to promote the proper safety culture. By identifying specific characteristics of each component we will be able to recognize how to build a positive safety culture and how to implement an effective SMS. Discussion Organizational Commitment An individual s drive to excel within an organization is known as organizational commitment. Most people find their commitment driven by their affection towards their line of work (affective commitment). As we know, in aviation, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Hubble Space Telescope Essay According to a newsletter sent out by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the purpose of the Hubble Space Telescope was, and is, to gather light from cosmic objects so scientists can better understand the universe around us. Up until the deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope, all telescopes were Earth based and had the disadvantage of having to peer at the stars through the Earth s atmosphere. The Earth s atmosphere provides a large amount of distortion when viewing very far objects, like space, through a telescope. Placing a telescope in space eliminates the distortion and provides images that are significantly clearer and in turn, easier to examine. The Hubble Space Telescopes six different science instruments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fourth important instrument is the Near Infrared Camera and Multi Object Spectrometer, which is basically Hubble s heat reader. It is very sensitive to infrared light which makes it useful for observing objects tainted by gases and dust. It is also used to peer into the deepest parts of space. The fifth important instrument is the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, which is a utility instrument that separates the light from the cosmos into its component colors. It is also used to study black holes, the composition of galaxies, and the atmosphere of planets around all stars. The sixth and final important instrument is called the Fine Guidance Sensors, which target devices that lock on to guide stars and measure their positions in relation to the objects being viewed. The sensors also perform celestial measurements. The Hubble Space Telescope is powered by solar cells which are solid state electrical devices that convert the energy of light directly into electricity by an effect called the Photovoltaic effect. Nissan and Renault are collaborating on building universal platforms, with shared components and where companies lead engine design in their area of expertise. For example, Renault specializes in diesel as well as in innovation and Nissan focuses on gasoline and the manufacturing process. Consequently, the alliance has boosted profitability, market capitalization and sales in 192 for both partners (Nancy DuVergne Smith, 2004). Reasons for an alliance instead of merger and the benefit from synergies The making of the alliance was motivated by the enthusiasm of Ghosn to develop potential synergies, where both firms maintain their operational freedom. The foundation of the alliance focuses on the need for the negotiation of a formal equity joint venture because Renault and Nissan must evaluate their partners equities, capabilities and willingness to cooperate before selecting the right hierarchy (Segrestin, 2003). Indeed, Carlos Ghosn, former Renault CEO before the alliance, has always been focused in preserving the identity of the two companies as he strongly formulated: If you don t respect people s identity, they will not get motivated and you will not get a strong corporate performance (web.mit.edu). • 9. Similarities Between The Scottsboro Boys And To Kill A... The Scottsboro Trials Influence The Scottsboro trial of the 1930 s is still one of the most famous racial cases today. It impacted the legal system and changed the course of history for years to come. It has even influenced and inspired literary work such as Tom Robinson s case in Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird. The similarities between the Scottsboro case and Tom Robinson s case heavily outweigh the differences. Thus it can be concluded that without the Scottsboro case To Kill a Mockingbird would not have the storyline readers know today. The Scottsboro trials began on March 25, 1931 in the town of Scottsboro, AL. The case consisted of 9 black boys being accused of raping 2 white women on a train they had been aboard. The boys accused, later known as the Scottsboro boys were Olen Montgomery, Clarence Norris, Haywood Patterson, Ozie Powell, Andy Wright, Roy Wright, Charles Weems, Eugene Williams and Willie Roberson, ranging in age from 12 to 20. The two white women claiming they were raped were Victoria Price and Ruby Bates. To Kill a Mockingbird, although written in 1960, takes place in the 1930 s during the Great Depression. The quiet town of Maycomb, in Alabama is disturbed when Mayella Ewell, a white woman, accuses Tom Robinson, a black man of raping her. The Scottsboro case is still one of the most famous cases from the Jim Crow era and it is clear that it influenced Tom Robinson s case. From just the foundations of the two cases it is obvious there are many parallels between them. The Scottsboro case and Tom Robinson s case both took place in the 1930 s during the Great Depression. Tom Robinson and the Scottsboro boys are also accused of the same crime. Although the Scottsboro case involves 9 boys and 2 women and the other case only includes 1 man and 1 woman it is clear what Harper Lee was trying to represent. In both cases there was an extreme lack of evidence, Ruby Bates testified that she was beaten and bruised by the repeated rapes and that she lost consciousness, regaining consciousness only when she found herself on the way to the Scottsboro jail. In fact, numerous witnesses and the arresting officers saw her fully conscious when she and the boys were taken off the train. The physician ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Donald Justice s Poem Incident In A Rose Garden Live While You Can James 4:14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are nothing more than a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Donald Justice wrote a poem called Incident in a Rose Garden, showing readers the true fact that life is nothing more than a vapor. It evaporates almost as quickly as it is made. However, there is beauty in it as well as surprise. He portrays this theme throughout the poem by using contrast and irony. Furthermore, there are many people that are scared of death and for good reasons. Although death is final and cannot be undone, it is a beautiful thing. Mr. Justice shows this by using the literary device of contrast. During the poem, Death is amid the rose gardens. When people think of roses, they usually think of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Donald Justice uses situational irony to establish to readers that death is sometimes unexpected. The gardener realized this by saying I want to see my sons/ Once more before I die./ I want to see California (Justice 17 19). The gardener realized almost too late that life is short. This is apparent in his sudden push to see family and foreign places. Even though Death is not coming for the Gardener, it was an important lesson that the Gardener learns. Many people believe that they will never die or that they deserve to live forever. When, in fact, no one is owed life and no one should have a sense of entitlement. In the poem, the master addresses death: Sir, you must be that stranger/ Who threatened my gardener./ This is my property, sir (Justice 16 18). From this quote, readers infer that the master does not believe that Death has any reason to be on his property. In other words, the Master thinks he deserves a tomorrow even though he does not. • 11. Green Bay Packers Characteristics The Green Bay Packers are one of the most notable teams in the NFL and all of sports. The four time Super Bowl champions have a few negative qualities, including bad defenses in the past and recent years of unsuccessful playoff runs. However, the negatives do not outweigh the team s powerhouse offense and Super Bowl trophies. The team was founded in 1919 and had very little success until 1929. This is the start of the Green Bay Packers that most people know as Titletown . From 1929 to present day, the Packers have won 13 championships. That being the most championships won by a single team in NFL history. While the Green Bay Packers are a very successful team, they have had their up s and down s. One of the team s biggest strengths is their powerhouse offense. But the man under center is what makes that powerhouse offense run. That man is Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league if not the best. His statistics are unbelievable. He has the highest quarterback rating in NFL history at 103.8, while the second closest is 98.9. He has thrown 300 touchdowns to only 74 interceptions. That being a 4:1 touchdown to interception ratio, also the best in NFL history. One of his most impressive streaks was his success at home. In 2015, he threw an interception at home. The last one he threw at home before that was in 2012. He went three years without throwing an interception at home. Truly a remarkable feat. In 2011, Aaron had one of the best seasons ... In Europe, during the 19th century, she became an object that was exhibited in freak shows under the name of Hottentot Venus. The common name is Eleocharis spp. It is also known as Eleocharis Palustris, Marsh Spike rush, Creeping Spike rush and it grows in the Spring. The Latin mane for Spikerush is Eleocharis Palustris. To make sure he behavior is consistent, I would watch her in all types of setting (class, recess, etc.) and clarify all type of undesirable behavior (biting herself, other people, objects, and animals). Presumably, the biting occur to draw attention to the child herself. If I do not give her the attention and simply mark off the extra time to play, it would gradually lead to the extinction of the biting behavior. On the other hand, I would reinforce her to smile and shake hand with me and other students when she meets them to avoid the biting. In order to do so, I would tell her that whenever she does the described behaviors, I would mark it as 1 point, and when she earn 10 point, she can have an item of her choice picked out from a presented list of give (toys, candy, supplies, etc.). In my opinion, the movie did a great job as far as casting. The actors in the movie understood their roles and played it well although there were some moments that could have been done differently. In my opinion, there were some parts in the film that could have been dramatize and much more intense because the situation and seriousness of what was occurring called for it. To begin, the casting of the film was well thought out. The characters played their parts well especially the main characters Stephen Glass played by Hayden Christensen, Chuck Lane played by Peter Sarsgaard, and Caitlin Avey played by Chloe Sevigny. In this particular scene, I felt like Chuck should have been livid. Nevertheless, chuck did seem angry but not to the extreme. Another scene that could have been exaggerated a bit more was when Chuck started to take down all of the stories Glass wrote. At this point in the film, Chuck began to realize the abundance of lies that was printed and published. As regulation changes do not occur in a vacuum the company can evaluate the potential impact of regulation changes and set aside sufficient funds before changes occur to ensure the company continues to meet regulation demands. The organization can setup an internal committee that can evaluate the impact of regulation changes being debated. The advantage of this is leveraging some changes to the companies benefit. For example, if there is a desired change that would enhance food safety, the committee may find that enacting the change would not incur a large cost, would improve brand recognition to enact the change, and may choose to change company standards whether or not the regulation changes. • 21. Marxist Alienation In Nazi Germany A defeated nation sending 12 year old children into the front lines, undying fanatical patriotism the story of the Third Reich s struggle for survival and fight to the death seems to defy logic. The application of the Marxist principle of the alienation of a worker from fellow workers is critical to understanding how the Nazi Party retained its almost paradoxical hold on the populace through paranoia and fear and how years of scapegoating fed a parasitic internal distrust embedded deep within Nazi Germany. To adopt the economic perspective required for viewing 1940s Nazi Germany through the lens of Marxist alienation, the Nazi regime must be abstractified and analyzed as a business, and its subjects as laborers. The Nazi regime, like a business, has only one purpose: obtaining value. For the Nazi regime, that value is power for the Fuhrer. For a Nazi regime fighting a losing war, that value is also whatever helps the regime in the war effort: reporting traitors, promoting loyalty to the Fuhrer, willingly surrendering everything for the war, and most importantly, keeping Hitler in power. A citizen, soldier, Jew, any citizen of Germany serves only one purpose to the Nazi regime: generating value. In return, Germans are rewarded favor with the Nazi party: for some that means additional power, for others, living another day. Most of the gross motor development occurs during childhood (John, 2009). Gross motor skills have two principals that determent how a child will regularly develop (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). Head to toe development this means the upper parts of the body will develop before the lower parts of the body (John, 2009). Children develop these skills throughout play (John, 2009). A tree year old Toddler can be very active therefore participating in activity that require movement, coordination, and balance can be beneficial to help a toddler to develop their motor skills (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old child can throw a ball but catching it is more difficult. They start walking with good posture similar to an adult; they can also walk backwards (Jan, Beth Melissa, 2012). A 3 year old can run which required strength and balance, during running they should be able to rotate their trunk and swing their arms (John, 2009). By the age of 3 a child walks up and down stairs alternating their feet without support which is possible because their balance has increase (John, 2009). A 3 year old child also learns to jump from a step and learn to jump forward (Center of diseases Control and Prevention, 2016). • 31. Fiscal Policies And The Fiscal Policy Before we talk about ways to assess fiscal policy of an economy, I would like to describe what we mean by fiscal policies and why it is important for an economy. Fiscal policy is the use of government revenues and expenditure to influence growth of an economy. Fiscal policies that increase demand in an economy are called as expansionary policy whereas those which reduce demand are called as contractionary fiscal policies. These policies are most effective in a fixed exchange rate regime with perfect capital mobility while they are less effective if the exchange rate is flexible. These policies are used to tackle cyclicality, external account imbalances and inflationary problems. In the following sections, I will discuss describe various roles of fiscal policy, how the fiscal policies should be designed, how to assess its sustainability. The essay will end with a brief policy recommendation on fiscal policies which should be generally followed by the governments. The government uses fiscal policy to achieve its short term and long term objectives. Short run objective mainly includes macroeconomic stabilization by responding to various domestic and international shocks such as natural disasters, terms of trade shock, financial crisis etc., while in the long run the government goals can be to eradicate poverty, improve infrastructure or have structural changes in labor market. Although countries broadly share these objective, but the priorities may change as per country s need ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
