3. There are different types of styles that people use every day, and your style makes you different
from everybody else.
4. The messages of the sentence changes drastically, the replacing of register to style makes a great
difference in the sentences. Register means how language is used can vary in audiences, purposes,
or contexts .Style means the way of doing something. The term register is more focused on the
subject of English because it's about how a language is used in situations like audience, purposes, or
context. Whereas the term style is broader and the term can be used for a way of doing anything
nothing particularly specific. The words can be interchangeable but they have further described to be
fully understood.

Different Words: Same Meaning
Discussion of Instructional Problem American college students know research and essay writing is
an inevitable aspect of their educational career. Gathering research based materials and paraphrasing
this information can be daunting for some English speaking students. For college bound English as a
Second Language (ESL) students this task of paraphrasing research sources and avoiding plagiarism
while keeping the information as authentic and accurate as possible can be nearly impossible. Many
ESL college students have yet to learn the techniques to correctly paraphrase the information they
gather. Paraphrasing is an essential skill needed to compose a successful research essay. Restating
research materials using one's own words by using strategies such as rewording, using synonyms
and sentence restructuring are techniques and skills required to paraphrase. These strategies have not
been obtained to the standard that ESL students need to be

Oracle Employ And Manipulate Users And Roles
Oracle DBAs employ and manipulate users and roles, as well as various other objects on a daily
basis. They do not belong to a schema similar to other objects, including profiles and tablespaces.
Users and roles access schema objects like tables, views, synonyms, and indexes. Even novice
DBAs possess a reasonable awareness of working with tables including querying, updating, reading,
and deleting data from them. Because tables can easily expand in row numbers, performance will
inevitably suffer. An adept DBA should retain a fundamental expertise of indexes to alleviate these
performance issues.
Much like the index of a book, a database index speeds up table searches by adopting pointers to
rows of data in contrast to performing full table scans to locate a minute amount of data. An index is
a data structure (most commonly a B– tree) that stores the values for a specific column in a table.
The B–tree index is the prevailing index and takes advantage of an efficient algorithm for searching
columns of high cardinality. This type of search is performed in logarithmic time which
exponentially decreases the time to execute a search. Fig 2 illustrates a B–tree index and how it
provides more granular levels of information at each level. An index is constructed on the last name
column of a table. Oracle uses 'Miller' as the root node and divides any last names that are
alphabetically less than Miller on the left child node and any last names greater on the right side.

they consulted Strong's. Had I not been there to explain the subtlety of Greek, I think the group

concur they are synonyms. However, being synonyms does not necessarily mean they share the

always gonna succeed on the first try, but if you really want to succeed, you have to work past your
failures and keep working until you can reach your goal. Perseverance. The dictionary defines
perseverance as ¨steady persistence in a course of action, purpose, or state, especially in spite of
difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement¨. Synonyms of perseverance are ¨steadfastness¨,
¨persistence¨, and ¨pertinacity¨. Antonyms of perseverance are ¨cowardice¨, ¨lethargy¨, and ¨apathy¨.
Perseverance is important because you are going to run into difficulties or obstacles in your lifetime.
You have to be able to push through the difficulties and obstacles to be able to move on and

The Professor Of An Upper Level Homeland Security Course...
The professor of an upper level Homeland Security course at Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University
emphasizes to his students that, "being able to research and write effectively is a requirement for all
college graduates, and especially those interested in a career in the field of Homeland Security"
(Appendix). After graduation, students going into the field of Homeland Security specifically at the
Department of Homeland Security can expect to be writing constantly. The application process to
the Department of Homeland Security even requires "writing samples, essays or references"
("Homeland Security"). Students have to understand how to write not just quickly and with ease but
efficiently for readers. The case study assigned is a great opportunity for students to work on writing
efficiently. In order to be successful on the assignment, students need to use efficient diction.
As inexperienced writers, it can be easy for students to feel like they need to overcompensate to
their professors by using overly extravagant words. In today's society, thesauruses are available at
just a right click in Microsoft Word, so it becomes extremely tempting for students to switch
common, "simple" words for words that seem more "sophisticated" so they can sound smart and like
they understand the topic more. Even though some "sophisticated" words are more specific and can
work more efficiently on many occasions, students need to be aware of their audience and what

Sophie Neveu And Chicago Robert Langdon
If this story was relocated to modern Chicago Robert Langdon would have been brought in for
interrogation immediately. Rather than being summoned to a private seeing at the crime scene to be
asked his opinion on the complicated message that Jacques Sauniere could have been portraying.
Sophie Neveu wouldn't have been able to rescue Langdon from the crime scene. They would have to
face major legal consequences, if she was able to. Since the "Holy Grail quest" required much
traveling outside of the united states their traveling expenses would be through the roof. Possibly
putting their whole journey on hold until further notice.

Princesse Sophie, Find Robert Langdon. How much clearer could her grandfather's message be?"
(pg. 78) The major conflict of the story is Sophie and Robert deciphering Jacques Sauniere's coded
message. I would say that this conflict is character vs. nature. Sophie and Robert are trying to figure
out a riddle that Jacques Sauniere left them before he died and is leading them on from beyond the
grave. "Sophie nodded, although she felt a second motivation still burning within her. The truth
about my family." (pg. 294) Sophie's minor conflict was finding out the truth about her family.
Before Jacques Sauniere was murdered he called Sophie and left a voicemail saying that he needed
to tell her the truth about her family. This type of conflict is character vs. self and character vs.
character. Sophie has to figure out her family secret that her grandfather has kept from her all these
years. " 'Because,' she said, stepping toward him, 'Force's primary suspect in this murder is you.' "
(pg. 65) " 'I'm being framed, Leigh,' Langdon said, trying to stay calm. You know me. I wouldn't kill
anyone." (pg. 263) Bezu Fache falsely accused Robert Langdon of murdering Jacques Sauniere and
three others. This conflict is character vs. character and character vs. media. Robert has to clear his

Community Journalism as a Synonym for Small Town Newspapers
Literature Review:
The notion of community journalism is hardly a new one. However, during the past decade, the
concept gained much fascination and interest among industry analysts.
The literature available on the topic points out that the reason behind this strong comeback of
community journalism lies in the fact that most regions where the boom is taking place are
undergoing a transitional phase that paved the way for this shift. The literature, however, refers to
two trends in this matter: the first is the effect of economic transition on the reemergence of
community journalism in countries such as the US and the UK, the second is the effect of political
transition on the emergence of community journalism in countries such as South Africa. In other
words, while the former example shows a rebirth of an old notion as a result of economic decline,
the latter shows an adoption of the concept in the hope of facilitating political transition.
Concerning the effect of economic transition, one theory is that the diminishing influence of larger
newspapers (in the US and the UK) and the decline in number of their circulation allowed localized
news outlets to flourish and become more prominent (Conhaim, 2006).
During these times of financial troubles, local publications had the power to remain profitable by
focusing on small target audiences, and offer unique, concentrated, localized content as their niche
product. So in addition to succeeding in gaining financial prosperity,

This may mar all.
Analysis:
8. What Screwtape means by the phrase "second conversion" is that the patient is recommitting to
the Lord. He is now accepting God again. I have experienced a "second conversion". 9. Screwtape
implies that human beings should not follow genuine likes and dislikes because it could lead to them
thinking that they will recover. All of the time and effort Wormwood has put in will go to waste.
That thick layer of crust Wormwood has formed on the patient will peel off. 10. Peer pressure can
definitely create distance between God and us. Your friends could have you doing stuff that you
thought you would never be in. Things can go south rather quickly given an awkward enough
situation. One can respond to peer pressure by having a strong biblical foundation, and/or setting up
guards around oneself to prevent filth from entering into their life.
Dig Deeper: 11. True humility is doing things for other people. Furthermore, humble yourself as a
servant and put away your selfishness. Screwtape wants Wormwood to gratify the patient's
humbleness so that pride will form at his own humility. God wants us to push our humility towards
Him and those around us. Helping out others/humility pleases the Lord. 11. (Part Two) Based on the
exchange between Jesus and the scribe in Mark 12:28–34, Screwtape's analysis about humility is
reasonable. It can be difficult to achieve true humility because it is hard for us, as humans, to give
up our selfish ways. Having read

Development Is Not A Synonym For Infrastructure
Development is not a synonym for infrastructure. Yet, these two words are often used in
interchangeably. Halifax, a small city in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada is currently taking on
the project of building a new convention center to replace the old and derelict convention center.
This project has been widely accepted and praised by many local government officials and business
people as a tremendous step forward and a driver for the city's growth. While this project can be
defined as new infrastructure, this alone does not justify its denotement as a development. What
allows infrastructure to also be defined as development is its ability to create positive change, or put
more simply: improvement. Likewise, undevelopment will be ... Show more content on

"Convention centers are generally not expected to make a profit on their operations or cover their
construction costs" . As a result, the vast majority of projects are covered by government funding
with the hope that the economic benefits for the city will justify this subsidy. These new or
refurbished convention centers are expected to bring in more foreign visitors, increasing tourism and
bringing in foreign capital. While this can be true, examples of success stories lie in cities where
tourism is already prevalent and lends themselves to larger cities far more than smaller ones .
Similarly, projections are made under the assumption that all conference and event attendees will be
visitors. Project revenue received from local hotels, restaurants, and stores is determined under this
premise. This assumption is largely exaggerated, as studies have shown that the number of hotel
rooms estimated to be used during a given year was one third of the initial projections. This is
because locals make up a large portion of conference attendees . As a result, most spending is from
local residents rather than visitors, completely negating the purpose of building a center to bring in
external revenue. It is apparent that since attendees are primarily local residents, there is no increase
in sales revenue at neighboring businesses. Moreover, this particular project has proven to not only
be unbeneficial for surrounding restaurants and retailers,

Translation Vs. Localization : Is It A Synonym For...
This brings me to my real question: what is localization? Is it a synonym for translation? Is it
something more? Or is it something else entirely?
A simple Google search of "translation vs. localization" reveals a variety of responses, but most of
them focus on the distinction between literal and dynamic equivalence translations, broadly
assigning "translation" to the former, and "localization" the latter. A statement by a translation
company claims, "Translation is the word–for–word rendering of source text from one language [...]
into another... [and] is fairly literal–the source and target–language text should [...] essentially be
mirror–images of each other," while "Localization involves translation plus adapting the target–
language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, the message was altered, but it was not to present the same effective message to the
target culture as it did the source culture, as in the case of dynamic equivalence. Instead, it was
purposefully changed to create an entirely different perception for the video game console, one that
Nintendo of America thought would result in more sales.
It's clear that localization is not just a synonym for translation used in the technology industry. In
fact, I've realized that the goal of translation and the goal of localization are actually very different.
The ultimate goal of translation is to convey an intelligible message to the target audience. This can
include both the fundamental message present in the text, but also a more encompassing message
about the source culture. Looking back at literature and the examples in class, translation was used
to convey a variety of messages about Japan to the US and vice–versa. For example, the translations
of Yasunari's works conveyed the "traditional" view of Japan, painting Japan as a country driven by
nature, and the people's emotions as vague and melancholy. The translation of "Aghwee," on the
other hand, presented Japan as a modern, Westernized

Extended Definition Of Love
Love can be very hurtful, painful, and stressful sometimes and some people really need to know
how to handle love. From my opinion love means to have the most positive feelings for someone.
Having feelings for someone is a good thing. People do not understand the full meaning of love. The
full meaning of love is giving your all and putting trust in someone that really love certain people.
Some synonyms for love are fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy.
The first synonym is fondness. Fondness means caring or having the feeling for someone who are
really attached to somebody. For example some people have a fondness for their family. Another
example is people have a fondness with their dog. So mainly this word can be defined in so many
ways. People also use this word only if they are attached to someone like their best friend or spouse.

Tenderness means being nice to people and having a good heart for people when they are going

which can always show how the way you look at somebody. People has different opinions on how
they use the word tenderness. There are many different signs for tenderness as well but people just
use them in a different way.
The third synonym is warmth. Warmth means to be safe around somebody that you trust or feel
comfortable with being around. Some people say they have the warmth with being around certain
people. For example she spoke her mind with great warmth. People use warmth in many different
ways. Some people say that they have warmth with their blankets. From my opinion what this word
means to me is being touch by somebody like you can feel their heart. Being able to feel their heart
is a good feeling to have. Warmth is a strong word to use for a relationship or especially when you

usually choose to sit there during independent or group work. I wanted the students to feel
comfortable enough to take risks with their language during this activity. Thus, I chose to conduct
the LEA here, where they feel most comfortable and to make this activity student centered. As I
recorded the students language in verbatim, I wanted to make sure that both students were
participating in the discussion and were building on each others thoughts and ideas which is related
to the language objective. To identify students' individual language contributions I wrote the first
letters of their names.Yoamy's code is Y and Jasmine's code is J. Before being, I made sure to say
that they shouldn't feel scared or embarrassed to contribute to the discussion because their opinions,
thoughts and ideas matter and this is judgement free zone. I acted as a scribe, writing down
everything the students said, on chart paper so they could see, helping the students meet the
objective that oral language can be written down. The day after the Language Experience Approach

The Synonyms Of Ragregation And Racism
Racism and segregation are two different things but often not completely known about fully. Racism
is the prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on
the belief that one's own race is superior. Synonyms of racism include racial discrimination,
racialism, racial prejudice, xenophobia, chauvinism, bigotry, and casteism, a few of these synonyms
were unknown to me up until now. The definition of segregation in history is the separation or
isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforced or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by
barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means.
The worst part was that the legal system and the police supported segregation. The Jim Crow Laws
were a major part in segregation. While the most widely known group for racism is the KKK, The
Ku Klux Klan with their most known violent act, lynching. By 1914, Louisiana required separate
entrances for blacks and whites. In 1915, Oklahoma segregated telephone booths, 1920 in
Mississippi made it a crime to publish arguments or suggestions in favor of social equalities
between whites and blacks. Arkansas had segregated racetracks , Texas prohibited integrated boxing
matches, meaning there would have been no Mayweather vs Mcgregor, Kentucky required separate
schools and no textbook would be issued to a black while they were prohibiting interracial marriage.
New Orleans created segregated red light districts for white and black prostitutes. Also in Georgia,
black ministers were stopped for performing marriages between white couples. As the United States
entered World War II, the South was a fully segregated society, from schools, to restaurants, hotels,
train cars, waiting rooms, elevators, public bathrooms, colleges, hospitals, cemetery, swimming
pools, drinking fountains, prisons, and even churches. There were churches for whites and churches
for blacks, but never one church for both. The Jim Crow Laws was a group of laws and customs that
enforced racial segregation and discrimination throughout the United States from the late 1900's to
the 1960's , especially in the South. The laws did not mention one race in particular, but

Compassion Fatigue As A Synonym For Secondary Traumatic...
Introduction According to Coetzee and Hester (2010) compassion fatigue was adopted as a synonym
for secondary traumatic stress disorder. The aim of their 2010 concept analysis of the topic was to
further define compassion fatigue as it applies to the nursing practice. They describe the process of
compassion fatigue from just simply discomfort to compassion stress and finally fatigue. (p.1) Their
analysis describes how damaging compassion fatigue can be on a nurse's ability to provide
compassionate care. The information is vital to the field of nursing and the outcomes of our patients.
Specifically, it plays an important role in my personal practice. It's a nurse responsibility to provide
compassion care for the ill. In the process nurses are exposed daily to their patient's pain trauma, and
their struggles. This and other factors such as unsafe work conditions can take a toll on nurses and
their functionality. As a mental health nurse one of the biggest priority is to provide compassion.
Working with such a vulnerable population with such significant needs requires strong willed nurses
who can come to work everyday with the sole purpose to provide good care and compassion. This
specialty is very challenging as there are many barriers preventing patients and clients from getting
the care they need which can be stressful on their caregivers, especially nurses. This can cause what

What Is Humor In Humor
We often laugh when we see something funny or amusing. In context of informal situation with my
friends I often say 'funny' but in formal context I have found difficulties in finding the 'formal' way
to say funny. After searching the synonym of funny in Meriam–Webster dictionary, amusing has
caught my attention and it is indeed sounds politer to me. Therefore, I have been using amusing in
formal context when I meet new people as well as my superior. The problem is, it is correct to make
a statement that amusing is for formal situation and funny for the informal situation. Are there any
differences in context of using funny and amusing that deny the statement?
This paper is aimed to find the appropriate ways to use funny and amusing in our daily conversation.

According to Hanks (2012), corpus linguistics is primarily concerned with interpreting observed
language in order to arrive at statements on patterns in word meaning or syntactic composition.
Collocations was first brought up by Palmer (1933) in English language teaching. However, in 1957,
Firth introduced collocations to the theoretical linguistics. Collocations are pervasive in texts of all
genres and domains. Collocation can be defined as 'the grammatical company a word keeps and the
positions it refers' (Hoey, 2005).
English is rich in synonyms and it often become a great challenge for EFL (English as Foreign
Language) learners. Church (1994) in his article did a "lexical substitutability" test in a corpus study
of the near–synonyms ask for, request and demand, which results the same finding: the
substitutability of lexical items in the same linguistic context constitutes a good indicator of their
semantic similarity.

For Centuries, Ink On Skin Has Been A Synonym For Social
For centuries, ink on skin has been a synonym for social markers, group identity, and perpetration of
traditions. Tattoos in the past were a permanent hallmark––a stamp of authenticity and a mark of
permanent fidelity to a cause, a group, or to an identity. They were a loud statement of culture and
belonging. They served as amulets, symbols, and religious traditions. However, nowadays, tattoos
seem just the product of a capricious and vain pop culture. They seem cheap and easy souvenirs
from travel adventure, bachelorette parties, and army service. They seem a symbol of individualism
and capitalism.
With the advent of social media and computer industry, tattoo as shifted from being an expression of

According to Cotter & Mirabole (2003), to address the above questions properly, we need to take
into consideration "the interests of the artists, the intellectual property rights owner, and the human
subject (p. 103). In other words, we need to address and resolve authorship and ownership issues.
We need to define the author and the owner of the original idea, the author and the owner of the
design on paper, and the author and the owner of the ink work on skin. Depending on the
circumstances, the author of the idea, the author of the sketch, and the author of the ink design could
be the body artist or the human canvas or both. In the same way, the owner of the idea, the owner, of
the sketch on paper, and the owner of the ink on the skin could be the body artist, or the human
canvas or both. Attribution of ownership and authorship of a tattoo is a very complex matter because
the work of art is permanent; the canvas is human flesh, and there is "a clear distinction between a
tattoo and the drawings, sketches, or other works of art upon which a tattoo is base" (Minahan,
2015, p. 1727).
For example, in the case of a Disney themed tattoo, The Walt Disney Company has a protected
trademark on all the Disney images and characters. Thus, the body artist and the human canvas
cannot copy, tattoo, print, publicize, or paint a Walt Disney

Inclusive Design Is Not A Synonym For Accessibility
COMPARISIMS TO ACCESSIBLE DESIGNS The terms "Inclusive" and "accessible" design are a
constant source of confusion. Inclusive design is not a synonym for accessibility neither is it a
connotation for the term "barrier free design" . There are recognised minimum requirements set for
designers that when followed let many individuals the opportunity to access programs and activities
however they may not support their active and full participation; such standards do not address the
sensitivities of sensory and cognitive differences, nor do they address the changes experienced by
the human body over time . Designers may use these codes and principles as a yardstick but must go
beyond them to achieve an Inclusive design . Inclusive design highlights the importance of meeting
the needs of as many users as possible. Designs may be naturally accommodating or adaptable to
meet diverse personal requirements; therefore it is imperative that inclusive design be included in all
stages of the design process. Inclusive design promotes an integrative approach rather than multiple
separate solutions by addressing the needs of an increasing number of people in a single design
solution resulting in the inclusive involvement of more people in the activities of society while
keeping it cost effective . PRINCIPLES OF INCLUSIVE DESIGN There are five major principles
of inclusive design. Placing people at the heart of the design process is the first principle of
Inclusive design . Involving as many

An Age Of Political Correctness Is All The Rage And...
In an age where political correctness is all the rage and conservative values are synonyms with
discrimination it is not surprising that the principles by which our great nation was built on are the
first to be tossed aside. We see an increasing number of left
wing policies put into play with almost
unanimous support from the media. These policies are masked with intent to bring our country

negative implications–and these only in the mildest sense: gloss over, whitewash, gray, wan, pale,

is XML / RDF file format, the second one is a special XML / RDF database and the third one is a
traditional relational database. If small amounts of data is considered then it is preferable to go with
XML/RDF file storage, But if large amounts of data are considered where scalability, data integrity,
query efficiency etc; are important, then it is preferable to go with XML/RDF database or relational
database for storing RDF data (Zhou et al., 2010). In this paper, as SodhanaRef is experimental and

Procrastination is Synonymous with Hesitation
Procrastination as Hesitation: A Synonymous Definition Procrastination is synonymous with
hesitation, as this is a process by which people hesitate to complete a task rather than finishing it
quickly. Some might wait until the last minute before a deadline, others may start a project and have
trouble continuing where they have left off, and others may even procrastinate to the point of never
completing a task in time. While not completing a task is not as definitive as procrastination as
hesitation since procrastinators are generally known for doing their work. Procrastination is
somewhat healthy while being unable or unwilling to complete needed jobs is inherently unhealthy.
One might also say that procrastination in necessary to make informed decisions, to prepare for a
speech or presentation that has to be delivered, or even to study for a test. The longer one waits, the
more time one has to gather additional information informally and to come into the correct mindset
to do good work. To utilize the examples above one may wait to commit to a date or social gathering
due to the possibility of other tasks that may need to be prioritized. As far as giving a presentation or
speech, one must not only know the content, he or she must also be physiologically prepared to face
an audience and this can be quite stressful. This might mean gathering the materials for the
presentation more informally yet not completing the speech preparation until right before it is given,

What Were The Synonyms Of The 1920s
Fantastic. Tremendous. Great. These are all synonyms for the word "roaring." When looking at these
synonyms, it is clear to see why the 1920s in America are more often referred to as the "Roaring
'20s." The Roaring '20s were an important part of American history, as they set the stage for some of
the most iconic movements and changes that have shaped the nation. These important changes and
movements include: the "Flapper Movement", the Harlem Renaissance, and the huge economic
shifts that took place during the 1920s. The Roaring '20s is one of the most important time periods
in American history. One of the most iconic changes that occured in the 1920s was the change in

The economy also changed drastically during the Roaring 20's. The Boom Cycle was the first reason
the economy changed in the early 1920s. WWI had just recently ended in 1918, so this meant that
American companies could once again begin building materials to sell, and not just to benefit the
war. Soldiers were also coming back home from overseas, and these thousands of men would need
jobs. As shown in Document 1, this resulted in a Boom Cycle. The Boom Cycle consists of
increased employment leading to increased profits, this resulted in increased purchasing power.
Increased purchasing power lead to an increased demand for goods, meaning companies increased
production, which resulted in increased sales, and finally completing the cycle, as increased sales
led to increased employment. Because of this boom cycle, the American economy was extremely
prosperous in the early 1920s. There was one downside to this increased economy, however. The
1920s generation grew up in this prosperous economy, and the older generation saw them as being
spoiled. This idea of the 1920s generation being "spoiled" coincides with the flapper movement, as
women began wearing more expensive clothing and jewelry. As seen in Document 9, the older
generation felt like the 1920s generation didn't appreciate hard work, or anything that they had in
life, and they believed that the new generation wanted more than they needed or deserved. This
sense of greed and materialism led people to want to make even more money, so when they heard of
the great success people were having in the stock market, thousands of people began to also put
money into the stock market. Document 2A states that the average American could make $20,000 to
$30,000 overnight by simply investing in the stock market. However, like most good things, this
economic prosperity came to a crashing fall. In 1929, the American economy

Great Was Ever Achieved Without Synonym, By Ralph Waldo...
Everyone has a different way to go along with their ways to get their job or work done. Whether it is

religion. Some people believe that their religion is the only true religion. Although, there are some
people who understand that a religion is true to the person that believes in it. These are the people
that are able to find similarities between religions. In the movie, Little Buddha, Christianity and

had to fight the evil god, Mara. After reaching nirvana he started spreading peace by teaching good

the right way of living life and good ethics. While spreading his wisdom, he had to face many

Gathering research based materials and paraphrasing this information can be daunting for some English speaking students. For college bound English as a Second Language (ESL) students this task of paraphrasing research sources and avoiding plagiarism while keeping the information as authentic and accurate as possible can be nearly impossible. Many ESL college students have yet to learn the techniques to correctly paraphrase the information they gather. Paraphrasing is an essential skill needed to compose a successful research essay. Restating research materials using one's own words by using strategies such as rewording, using synonyms and sentence restructuring are techniques and skills required to paraphrase. • 28. Oracle Employ And Manipulate Users And Roles Oracle DBAs employ and manipulate users and roles, as well as various other objects on a daily basis. They do not belong to a schema similar to other objects, including profiles and tablespaces. Users and roles access schema objects like tables, views, synonyms, and indexes. Even novice DBAs possess a reasonable awareness of working with tables including querying, updating, reading, and deleting data from them. Because tables can easily expand in row numbers, performance will inevitably suffer. An adept DBA should retain a fundamental expertise of indexes to alleviate these performance issues. Much like the index of a book, a database index speeds up table searches by adopting pointers to rows of data in contrast to performing full table scans to locate a minute amount of data. An index is a data structure (most commonly a B– tree) that stores the values for a specific column in a table. The B–tree index is the prevailing index and takes advantage of an efficient algorithm for searching columns of high cardinality. This type of search is performed in logarithmic time which exponentially decreases the time to execute a search. Fig 2 illustrates a B–tree index and how it provides more granular levels of information at each level. An index is constructed on the last name column of a table. Oracle uses 'Miller' as the root node and divides any last names that are alphabetically less than Miller on the left child node and any last names greater on the right side. The next level ... This fallacy reminds me exactly how a Greek Strong's Concordance can get you into theological trouble. I recall a Bible study that I attended when I was in the previous Greek class to this. There was some debate over the wording of the Scripture, and they consulted Strong's. Had I not been there to explain the subtlety of Greek, I think the group would have strayed from the path. Now, we come to two words that are very similar, and I would concur they are synonyms. However, being synonyms does not necessarily mean they share the same meaning. Roughly 3 years ago I was in this situation. I had no idea that my best friend hated herself as a person, was being bullied so badly to the point that she felt as though that her life wasn't worth living anymore. She buried her sadness inside herself and talked to her notepad instead of a human. I found this notepad. I read this notepad. I flipped through the pages with violent words screaming at me. The professor of an upper level Homeland Security course at Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University emphasizes to his students that, "being able to research and write effectively is a requirement for all college graduates, and especially those interested in a career in the field of Homeland Security" (Appendix). After graduation, students going into the field of Homeland Security specifically at the Department of Homeland Security can expect to be writing constantly. The application process to the Department of Homeland Security even requires "writing samples, essays or references" ("Homeland Security"). Students have to understand how to write not just quickly and with ease but efficiently for readers. The case study assigned is a great opportunity for students to work on writing efficiently. In order to be successful on the assignment, students need to use efficient diction. As inexperienced writers, it can be easy for students to feel like they need to overcompensate to their professors by using overly extravagant words. In today's society, thesauruses are available at just a right click in Microsoft Word, so it becomes extremely tempting for students to switch common, "simple" words for words that seem more "sophisticated" so they can sound smart and like they understand the topic more. Even though some "sophisticated" words are more specific and can work more efficiently on many occasions, students need to be aware of their audience and what level to accommodate their ... • 56. Sophie Neveu And Chicago Robert Langdon If this story was relocated to modern Chicago Robert Langdon would have been brought in for interrogation immediately. Rather than being summoned to a private seeing at the crime scene to be asked his opinion on the complicated message that Jacques Sauniere could have been portraying. Sophie Neveu wouldn't have been able to rescue Langdon from the crime scene. They would have to face major legal consequences, if she was able to. Since the "Holy Grail quest" required much traveling outside of the united states their traveling expenses would be through the roof. Possibly putting their whole journey on hold until further notice. In this book there is one point of view. Robert Langdon, Sophie Neveu, Silas, Bezu Fache, Bishop Aringarosa, and Teabing ... Princesse Sophie, Find Robert Langdon. How much clearer could her grandfather's message be?" Sophie and Robert are trying to figure out a riddle that Jacques Sauniere left them before he died and is leading them on from beyond the grave. "Sophie nodded, although she felt a second motivation still burning within her. The truth about my family." (pg. 294) Sophie's minor conflict was finding out the truth about her family. This type of conflict is character vs. self and character vs. character. Sophie has to figure out her family secret that her grandfather has kept from her all these years. • 60. Community Journalism as a Synonym for Small Town Newspapers Literature Review: The notion of community journalism is hardly a new one. However, during the past decade, the concept gained much fascination and interest among industry analysts. The literature available on the topic points out that the reason behind this strong comeback of community journalism lies in the fact that most regions where the boom is taking place are undergoing a transitional phase that paved the way for this shift. The literature, however, refers to two trends in this matter: the first is the effect of economic transition on the reemergence of community journalism in countries such as the US and the UK, the second is the effect of political transition on the emergence of community journalism in countries such as South Africa. In other words, while the former example shows a rebirth of an old notion as a result of economic decline, the latter shows an adoption of the concept in the hope of facilitating political transition. Concerning the effect of economic transition, one theory is that the diminishing influence of larger newspapers (in the US and the UK) and the decline in number of their circulation allowed localized news outlets to flourish and become more prominent (Conhaim, 2006). During these times of financial troubles, local publications had the power to remain profitable by focusing on small target audiences, and offer unique, concentrated, localized content as their niche product. Analysis: 8. What Screwtape means by the phrase "second conversion" is that the patient is recommitting to the Lord. He is now accepting God again. I have experienced a "second conversion". 9. Screwtape implies that human beings should not follow genuine likes and dislikes because it could lead to them thinking that they will recover. All of the time and effort Wormwood has put in will go to waste. That thick layer of crust Wormwood has formed on the patient will peel off. 10. Peer pressure can definitely create distance between God and us. Your friends could have you doing stuff that you thought you would never be in. Things can go south rather quickly given an awkward enough situation. One can respond to peer pressure by having a strong biblical foundation, and/or setting up guards around oneself to prevent filth from entering into their life. Dig Deeper: 11. True humility is doing things for other people. Furthermore, humble yourself as a servant and put away your selfishness. Screwtape wants Wormwood to gratify the patient's humbleness so that pride will form at his own humility. God wants us to push our humility towards Him and those around us. Helping out others/humility pleases the Lord. 11. (Part Two) Based on the exchange between Jesus and the scribe in Mark 12:28–34, Screwtape's analysis about humility is reasonable. Halifax, a small city in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada is currently taking on the project of building a new convention center to replace the old and derelict convention center. This project has been widely accepted and praised by many local government officials and business people as a tremendous step forward and a driver for the city's growth. While this project can be defined as new infrastructure, this alone does not justify its denotement as a development. What allows infrastructure to also be defined as development is its ability to create positive change, or put more simply: improvement. Likewise, undevelopment will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... "Convention centers are generally not expected to make a profit on their operations or cover their construction costs" . As a result, the vast majority of projects are covered by government funding with the hope that the economic benefits for the city will justify this subsidy. These new or refurbished convention centers are expected to bring in more foreign visitors, increasing tourism and bringing in foreign capital. While this can be true, examples of success stories lie in cities where tourism is already prevalent and lends themselves to larger cities far more than smaller ones . Similarly, projections are made under the assumption that all conference and event attendees will be visitors. Project revenue received from local hotels, restaurants, and stores is determined under this premise. This assumption is largely exaggerated, as studies have shown that the number of hotel rooms estimated to be used during a given year was one third of the initial projections. This is because locals make up a large portion of conference attendees . As a result, most spending is from local residents rather than visitors, completely negating the purpose of building a center to bring in external revenue. It is apparent that since attendees are primarily local residents, there is no increase in sales revenue at neighboring businesses. • 72. Translation Vs. Localization : Is It A Synonym For... This brings me to my real question: what is localization? Is it a synonym for translation? Is it something more? Or is it something else entirely? A simple Google search of "translation vs. localization" reveals a variety of responses, but most of them focus on the distinction between literal and dynamic equivalence translations, broadly assigning "translation" to the former, and "localization" the latter. A statement by a translation company claims, "Translation is the word–for–word rendering of source text from one language [...] into another... [and] is fairly literal–the source and target–language text should [...] essentially be mirror–images of each other," while "Localization involves translation plus adapting the target– language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this case, the message was altered, but it was not to present the same effective message to the target culture as it did the source culture, as in the case of dynamic equivalence. Instead, it was purposefully changed to create an entirely different perception for the video game console, one that Nintendo of America thought would result in more sales. It's clear that localization is not just a synonym for translation used in the technology industry. In fact, I've realized that the goal of translation and the goal of localization are actually very different. The ultimate goal of translation is to convey an intelligible message to the target audience. This can include both the fundamental message present in the text, but also a more encompassing message about the source culture. Looking back at literature and the examples in class, translation was used to convey a variety of messages about Japan to the US and vice–versa. For example, the translations of Yasunari's works conveyed the "traditional" view of Japan, painting Japan as a country driven by nature, and the people's emotions as vague and melancholy. The translation of "Aghwee," on the other hand, presented Japan as a modern, Westernized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Racism is the prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. In 1915, Oklahoma segregated telephone booths, 1920 in Mississippi made it a crime to publish arguments or suggestions in favor of social equalities between whites and blacks. Arkansas had segregated racetracks , Texas prohibited integrated boxing matches, meaning there would have been no Mayweather vs Mcgregor, Kentucky required separate schools and no textbook would be issued to a black while they were prohibiting interracial marriage. New Orleans created segregated red light districts for white and black prostitutes. Also in Georgia, black ministers were stopped for performing marriages between white couples. As the United States entered World War II, the South was a fully segregated society, from schools, to restaurants, hotels, train cars, waiting rooms, elevators, public bathrooms, colleges, hospitals, cemetery, swimming pools, drinking fountains, prisons, and even churches. There were churches for whites and churches for blacks, but never one church for both. • 92. Compassion Fatigue As A Synonym For Secondary Traumatic... Introduction According to Coetzee and Hester (2010) compassion fatigue was adopted as a synonym for secondary traumatic stress disorder. The aim of their 2010 concept analysis of the topic was to further define compassion fatigue as it applies to the nursing practice. They describe the process of compassion fatigue from just simply discomfort to compassion stress and finally fatigue. (p.1) Their analysis describes how damaging compassion fatigue can be on a nurse's ability to provide compassionate care. The information is vital to the field of nursing and the outcomes of our patients. Specifically, it plays an important role in my personal practice. It's a nurse responsibility to provide compassion care for the ill. In the process nurses are exposed daily to their patient's pain trauma, and their struggles. This and other factors such as unsafe work conditions can take a toll on nurses and their functionality. As a mental health nurse one of the biggest priority is to provide compassion. Working with such a vulnerable population with such significant needs requires strong willed nurses who can come to work everyday with the sole purpose to provide good care and compassion. This specialty is very challenging as there are many barriers preventing patients and clients from getting the care they need which can be stressful on their caregivers, especially nurses. They served as amulets, symbols, and religious traditions. However, nowadays, tattoos seem just the product of a capricious and vain pop culture. In other words, we need to address and resolve authorship and ownership issues. We need to define the author and the owner of the original idea, the author and the owner of the design on paper, and the author and the owner of the ink work on skin. Depending on the circumstances, the author of the idea, the author of the sketch, and the author of the ink design could be the body artist or the human canvas or both. In the same way, the owner of the idea, the owner, of the sketch on paper, and the owner of the ink on the skin could be the body artist, or the human canvas or both. Attribution of ownership and authorship of a tattoo is a very complex matter because the work of art is permanent; the canvas is human flesh, and there is "a clear distinction between a tattoo and the drawings, sketches, or other works of art upon which a tattoo is base" (Minahan, 2015, p. 1727). Inclusive design is not a synonym for accessibility neither is it a connotation for the term "barrier free design" . There are recognised minimum requirements set for designers that when followed let many individuals the opportunity to access programs and activities however they may not support their active and full participation; such standards do not address the sensitivities of sensory and cognitive differences, nor do they address the changes experienced by the human body over time . Designers may use these codes and principles as a yardstick but must go beyond them to achieve an Inclusive design . Inclusive design highlights the importance of meeting the needs of as many users as possible. Designs may be naturally accommodating or adaptable to meet diverse personal requirements; therefore it is imperative that inclusive design be included in all stages of the design process. Inclusive design promotes an integrative approach rather than multiple separate solutions by addressing the needs of an increasing number of people in a single design solution resulting in the inclusive involvement of more people in the activities of society while keeping it cost effective . According to Zhou (Zhou et al., 2010), there are three kinds of RDF data storage formats, one is XML / RDF file format, the second one is a special XML / RDF database and the third one is a traditional relational database. If small amounts of data is considered then it is preferable to go with XML/RDF file storage, But if large amounts of data are considered where scalability, data integrity, query efficiency etc; are important, then it is preferable to go with XML/RDF database or relational database for storing RDF data (Zhou et al., 2010). As there is only a requirement of lightweight Ontology, the RDFS language is chosen for its establishment because it contains most of the primitives that are defined in language OWL–Lite. Therefore, we adopted the RDFS ontology language to describe the relations among the resources. Procrastination is Synonymous with Hesitation Procrastination as Hesitation: A Synonymous Definition Procrastination is synonymous with hesitation, as this is a process by which people hesitate to complete a task rather than finishing it quickly. Some might wait until the last minute before a deadline, others may start a project and have trouble continuing where they have left off, and others may even procrastinate to the point of never completing a task in time. While not completing a task is not as definitive as procrastination as hesitation since procrastinators are generally known for doing their work. Procrastination is somewhat healthy while being unable or unwilling to complete needed jobs is inherently unhealthy. One might also say that procrastination in necessary to make informed decisions, to prepare for a speech or presentation that has to be delivered, or even to study for a test. The longer one waits, the more time one has to gather additional information informally and to come into the correct mindset to do good work. To utilize the examples above one may wait to commit to a date or social gathering due to the possibility of other tasks that may need to be prioritized. As far as giving a presentation or speech, one must not only know the content, he or she must also be physiologically prepared to face an audience and this can be quite stressful. When looking at these synonyms, it is clear to see why the 1920s in America are more often referred to as the "Roaring '20s." The Roaring '20s were an important part of American history, as they set the stage for some of the most iconic movements and changes that have shaped the nation. These important changes and movements include: the "Flapper Movement", the Harlem Renaissance, and the huge economic shifts that took place during the 1920s. The Roaring '20s is one of the most important time periods in American history. One of the most iconic changes that occured in the 1920s was the change in women's wardrobes and lifestyle. The Boom Cycle was the first reason the economy changed in the early 1920s. WWI had just recently ended in 1918, so this meant that American companies could once again begin building materials to sell, and not just to benefit the war. Soldiers were also coming back home from overseas, and these thousands of men would need jobs. As shown in Document 1, this resulted in a Boom Cycle. The Boom Cycle consists of increased employment leading to increased profits, this resulted in increased purchasing power. Increased purchasing power lead to an increased demand for goods, meaning companies increased production, which resulted in increased sales, and finally completing the cycle, as increased sales led to increased employment. Because of this boom cycle, the American economy was extremely prosperous in the early 1920s. There was one downside to this increased economy, however. The 1920s generation grew up in this prosperous economy, and the older generation saw them as being spoiled. This idea of the 1920s generation being "spoiled" coincides with the flapper movement, as women began wearing more expensive clothing and jewelry. As seen in Document 9, the older generation felt like the 1920s generation didn't appreciate hard work, or anything that they had in life, and they believed that the new generation wanted more than they needed or deserved. This sense of greed and materialism led people to want to make even more money, so when they heard of the great success people were having in the stock market, thousands of people began to also put money into the stock market. Document 2A states that the average American could make $20,000 to $30,000 overnight by simply investing in the stock market. However, like most good things, this economic prosperity came to a crashing fall. In 1929, the American economy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Intercourse is designed for a mature man and woman who love each other as 1 Corinthians 7 reads, "Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: "It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman." 2 But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. 3 The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does.
