3. Hopes & Dreams Students name their hopes and dreams. The children and teacher then use these hopes and dreams to create rules for the class to live by.

Rule Creation Brainstorm with students on what they need to make a productive, calm classroom where everyone feels safe and people and classroom resources are respected and their hopes and dreams can be realized You may include your non-negotiables! Categorize rules and post them Model what the rules look, sound and feel like Periodically review rules NEVER assume, the students should know them by now!
7. Modeling & Role Playing All rules and procedures are extensively modeled First teacher models Provide structure role playing so students can practice and give explicit feedback to them NEVER model what they are not supposed to do NEVER assume that students should know how to do things by now.
