Predicting or Generating Expectations
Currently while reading, it is safe to say the main protagonist of the novel is trying to escape his past life by leaving behind everything he's
known for a new adventure featuring new people. Already he has tried to fit in by being something he is not. It is evident through his
speech versus his thoughts. Short term events could consist of him changing who he is to fit into the current way of life he has walked
into. Long term events could consist of the adventure he has with the new people he has met. He begins to fall for a taken girl amongst it
all, but never voices his feelings for her. In the future the most important events could involve the girl and the lessons he learns along the
way based on what is right compared to what is wrong.
Puzzles
Some questions I have been asking myself along the way have been, "What is the Great Perhaps of the characters in the story?", "all of the
important events take place on Culver Creek Campus, why is this?". Another thing I have been thinking of is that John Green keeps the
entire novel in the main character, Miles' point of view. Why is this? Why have no other characters been given the ability to share their
perspective on the important events happening as the story progresses?
Filling the Gaps
Everything Miles is going to go through in this book is for a reason. This book is very similar to real life in a sense that Miles is a typical
teenager and wants

An Organization Running, And Generating Profits Essay
Regardless of the industry, keeping an organization running, and generating profits, can be a daunting task especially if the market is
currently dominated by large corporations. Roughly 60 to 80 percent of new businesses end in failure, meaning that in a highly
competitive market, it is imperative to keep in control of factors easily monitored. There are several reasons that a company may fail to
thrive in the market and some, such as market conditions, are outside of anyone's control; however, many businesses fail because of
poorly managing finances. By hiring a financial consultant, an organization improves the odds of navigating the unclear waters of the
market, which can be unpredictable and can turn on a moments notice. In the end, generating revenue is the primary goal of any
organization because if the company does not have funds available to operate, all of their others objectives fall to the wayside.
Food is one of the most diverse industries since the tastes of each individual are unique, giving companies more options product
diversification. Recently, a company has developed a new alternative to soda that is a 25 calorie, all–natural sparkling beverage, having
only 5 grams of sugar and no chemicals or preservatives. Additionally, the product is available in four fruit flavors which include apple,
grade, orange, and pineapple. Introduced in Flordia, over the last two years, the growth of the product and marketing techniques have
increased significantly.

Fossil Fuels And Alternative Methods Of Generating...
FOSSIL FUELS AND ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF GENERATING ELECTRICITY
What are fossil fuels?
Fossil fuels are natural resources created under the Earth's surface from the remains of ancient organisms. These organisms include plants
and animals and other organic matter.
How are fossil fuels formed?
Millions of years ago most of the land on Earth was covered with swamps and forests. As trees and plants died, they would sink to the
bottom of the swamps. As more trees and plants died their remains would bury dead plants and organic matter underneath them creating
layers of dead plants. As the layers of rotting material build up in the forests and swamps it is compressed by the heavy weight of the
plants and water. This weight with high temperatures removes the moisture from the organic decaying matter. This creates peat. Over
millions of years peat was covered by sand and clay and other minerals. These sediments changed into rocks called sedimentary rocks.
Rock continued to pile up and compress the peat. This caused the water to be squeezed from the peat. Over millions of year this process
turned peat into fossil fuels such as natural gas, oil and coal.
Three examples of fossil fuels
Three examples of fossil fuels include:
Coal
Oil
Natural gas
How are these fossil fuels used in Australia?
COAL
Coal is used to produce 80% of the nation's electricity use. This is achieved by the burning of the coal to generate steam to power the
turbines to create electricity.

The Use of Turbine Blades in Generating Electricity Essay
The Use of Turbine Blades in Generating Electricity
Turbines are used in many different ways produce and generate electricity. They are used as gas turbines, coal turbines and steam turbines.
Each one has a different property, which makes it unique. Airlines and cars generally run on gas turbines. Steam engines, ships and
railway engines run on coal turbines as coal produces a high amount of energy that enables them to run for long length of time before
adding more coal.
In order for these turbine's to operate well and efficiently with as little maintenance as possible, it is necessary for the turbine's to have
well–constructed, well designed turbine blades. They have to have certain properties that enable them to withstand high ... Show more

In order to cope with the pressures of having to implement the need to be lightweight and environmentally friendly, they have to improve
the mechanical and thermal strength in order to match keep up with the rising technology and competition.
Turbine blades have to be able to endure temperatures around and greater then 500OC, in order for them to be useful. A reasonably
lightweight alloy commonly used in the production of turbine blades is an often a long SiC–fibre reinforced titanium alloy for the highly
mechanically loaded parts. By using "sputtering" techniques followed by hot isostatic pressing cycles, the components then become
strengthened in comparison to conventional materials, which are manufactured.
These alloys are heavily researched to adapt to long–term behaviour which the turbines and blades undergo. These researches focuses on
the durability of the turbines and degrading reactions at fibre–matrix interfaces as well as internal protective layers. This means that they
test the materials under extreme conditions e.g. high temperatures or duration periods, which will enable them to find the stress points
which will be more prone to damage than other areas as well as disintegration points.
By conducting these research experiments, engineers have been able to produce a fibre reinforced material that is oxidation resistant
(rusting) and damage tolerant for a long duration of time and for temperature up to 1400OC,

Education As A Core Element Of Generating Quality Human...
Sociopolitical context Education is acknowledged to be one of the seven priorities of "Kazakhstan – 2030" Strategy. As it is particularly
stated in state policy documents, the common goal of education reforms in Kazakhstan is to adapt the education system to global socio–
economic environment (State Program on Development of Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011–2020). Kazakhstan is on the
way of its transformation to be one of the 50 most competitive countries in the world. To achieve this ambitious goal, the country is
overhauling its educational system to be able to produce quality human capital as it will significantly result in benefit for economy and
society (Bhuiyan, 2011). Therefore, gifted education is considered to be a core element of generating quality human capital; hence, a great
deal of resources has been investing into education in order to implement strategies to provide a high quality education for gifted children
(Hernandez–Torrano & Abisheva, 2013). There are a lot of issues beyond gifted education in terms of identifications, perceptions,
teaching methods, peculiarities and etc. Nowadays, different ways of supporting and organizing gifted children's activities are being
discussed by the majority of scholars. For instance, according to Kazakhstani scholars (Damitov et al., 2006; Damitov et al.,2009) the
importance of practical activities, scientific and educational research is prioritized in several policy documents such as:

Marketing Concept Of Customer Generating Marketing
Customer generating marketing has become very popular nowadays given the explosion in digital and social media. Engaging customers
on a more personal interactive level is key to your bottom line. The marketing concept suggests that company strategies should revolve
around creating customer value by engaging customers and building profitable relationships. In order for your company to be successful,
all members of the company must participate in marketing, not just the marketing department. They must want to create value for the
customer in order to engage them. It is a team effort. That is why it is important to understand marketing and how you play a role or fit in
it.
A value delivery network is key to delivering customer value. Suppliers, distributors, employees, and customers must work together
closely to improve the performance of the entire system. Developing differentiation in the market contributes in creating superior
customer value in order to capture value in return. Companies that understand their brand and communicate it well to their targeted
audience are going to achieve success. As consumers change, companies must change with them. If they fail to adapt, it is a good chance
they will be left behind. T–Mobile is a good illustration of creating differentiation and adapting to consumer changes in the market.
Cellular customers have become tired of being locked into two year agreements with their cellular providers. They wanted to have the

Reflection Paper On Group Work
COMS2103 was a great experience for me. In the past, I have had very negative group experience. This was from a lack of attendance by
other group members, lack of communication, and simply a lack of work ethic. I was hesitant before joining COMS2103 because of my
past experiences, but I am so glad I stuck with it. My group was very pleasant to work with and I felt less stressed than before in other
group settings. As this course comes to an end, I am pleased with how our group worked together and I cannot wait to work with them
again in COMS2105. With this being a Community Studies course, it was assumed that there was going to be a lot of group work. Of
course, this turned out to be true. Like I have said above, I was really nervous to be thrown into group work again. This time was different,
though. On the first day of class, we spent some time getting to know each other. It turned out that many of us were from the same area
and focusing on the same aspects in school. I even knew Patti and Sam from COMS1100, but there was still some catching up to do. A
few of our group members are from other parts of the province, and even as far as Ontario. This fact was interesting during discussions as
we had a few "cultural differences". Beginning any project with this group was never an issue. Somebody was always ready to start the
conversation and the rest of the group was always just as willing and comfortable to contribute to the conversation. In our group contract,
we had an

The Disaster Of Nuclear Generating Station Essay
Abstract:
In the early morning hours of 28th March 1979, the worst disaster in the history of nuclear energy production in the US took place. Unit
Two of the Three Mile Island had a meltdown releasing some amount of radioactivity into the surrounding area. The meltdown led to the
possibility of Unit 2 of the reactor facility to explode. The ramifications of the accident revealed the conceptual difficulties of assessing
social risks and the political difficulties in managing them (Nelkin, March 1981).This paper aims at describing the accident, the post–
accident setup and clean–up and the various losses which have been attributed to the disaster. It also intends to develop an understanding
of the various complex issues and social vulnerabilities and risks that caused the disaster. The paper raises a very important question about
the safety of the nuclear power plants in the world and the risk the reactors pose to the people and environment as a whole.
Introduction:
The Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station (TMI) is located in the Susquehanna River flowing in the south of Harrisburg Town in
the state of Pennsylvania, U.S. The generating station comprises of two generating units TMI–1 and TMI–2. TMI–1 has a generating
capacity of 852 MWe and the commercial operation began in 1974.
Unit Two of the Three Mile Island Generating Station was similar in construction to Unit One. It was of a slightly higher capacity than
Unit One and the generating capacity was 906 MWe. The

High Altitude Wind Power Generating System Essay
High Altitude Wind Power Generating System
Objectives:
1. To design and fabricate an indigenous small scale model of an Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) System.
2. To assemble all the components of the Airborne Wind Turbine.
3. To conduct experimental analysis in order to obtain optimum outcome.
Introduction:
Electricity is the physical phenomena associated with the presence and flow of electric charges. It plays a vital role in our day to day life.
It is used in industries and household appliances like fan, television, computer, heater etc. Without electricity it is difficult to lead our life
comfortably. In present generation, the consumption of electricity is more than its production. Hence, huge amount of electrical energy has
to be produced to meet the present requirements. There are a plenty of ways by which electrical energy can be produced which includes
the usage of both renewable and non–renewable energy resources like solar energy, wind energy, nuclear energy etc. This proposal deals
with the production of electricity by using Magenn Air Rotor System (MARS) which is one of an airborne wind energy systems. It
requires very minimal wind to function and its implementation saves the conventional energy sources as well as create pollution free
environment.
Magenn Air Rotor System (MARS) is one of the lighter than air wind turbine that rotates about horizontal axis in response to wind,
thereby generating electrical energy at a lower cost. The generated electricity can be

Collaborative Group Experience
Introduction Groups and teamwork are an essential aspect of everyday life. It is suggested that "groups have the potential to outperform
individuals" (Mottola & Utkus, 2009). There are several facets that impact teamwork, including communication, and cooperation.
Conflicts and challenges are also important aspects that can occur in teamwork. It is imperative to understand effective models, and
actions that can be taken to establish successful work. Experiential learning will be used to analyze a group experience that the author
found to be meaningful. Additionally, team dynamic concepts and theories will aid in analyzing the experience.

The various challenges and conflicts impacted all the members of the group, and resulted in a subpar presentation. As the presentation was
a significant portion of our final grade, it was imperative for the author as well as several other members to take initiative and salvage the
presentation before it was a complete disaster. The author behaved in this manner to ensure the requirements of the assignment were met,
and the presentation was delivered in order to avoid failure for the assignment. The other members of the group that also took initiative to
complete the assignment were motivated to achieve these goals as well. The individuals that lacked participation were fueled by conflict
and determined to create a negative experience because of refusal for agreement. The individuals removed themselves from the group and
choose to work on aspects of the presentation alone. This impacted the group negatively because there was lack of communication, and
opinions from everyone involved. Joan Bunashe and Lindsay Broder suggest that "conflict isolates individuals and can have an impact on
creativity and productivity" (Bunashe & Broder, 2015). The actions of the individuals who refused to participate in the group obstructed
the presentation flow, and resulted in a negative experience for

Ibm Is Generating A High Profit Essay
average of 1% IBM is generating a high profit margin to earn a greater profit.
Return on Assets:
Return on Assets (ROA) measures how profitably a company uses their assets by net income divided by the average total assets. Assets
are either tangible or intangible items the company owns. For example, things like buildings, equipment, cash, office supplies, or accounts
receivable (receiving cash from customers on services you have performed). To find the average total assets, you use the same idea as the
return on equity method, but instead you add up all of the assets and average them, instead of using just one account. IBM measured ROA
of 13% in 2013 and 10% in 2014. In order to know how well the company did, it's best to compare these percentages to the industry
average of 1.6% to get a better idea of where they stand. In this case, IBM produces more profit for every $1, than the industry average.
Even though there may have been a slight decline, IBM is still currently producing well above.
Profitability Conclusion: IBM was well above the industry average for all of the profitability ratios with given industry averages. Although
the company was successful in this category it doesn't mean the company is successful as a whole. There are other groups to consider
before making a final judgement on how well IBM's performance is. Stockholder/Investor Relations: Stockholder's purchase stock in a
company in hopes of earning revenue once they decide to sell the stock. There

My Presentation And Resource Support Colleagues Essay
How would my presentation and resource support colleagues in practice?
I was part of group of six formed to produce a presentation and resource teaching materials to colleagues. Our Group presentation was on
"Healthy Eating in Child Development" and focused on establishing healthy–eating habits in early childhood development. This report is
to critic and analyse our group presentation and the resource.
The Presentation
The aim of the presentation was to inform early years practitioners the importance of educating and constructing a long–term health eating
habits. Our presentation briefly highlighted the topic's history, the government and department of education's participation in the
significant of healthy eating. Also my part was to explain, the psychological cognitive biases routed into our evolutionally need for high
calories food, which could stand the way of establishing health eating habits, plus methods to change those perceptions. Furthermore
inform the five food groups and importance of using them to produce balance health diet. Finally, advantages and disadvantages on
healthy eating and the significances of encouraging parent's participation in long–term healthy eating habits for their children.
The Resources
The format was a poster titled " Healthy Eating For Children – Eating the Rainbow – Ideas for Parents". The thinking behind this was to
give our colleagues resource poster that they could supply when discussing with parents their participation and

Types Of Generating Income And The Availability Of The...
Due to the various forms of generating income and the availability to generate it in various incorporated organizations within these
different governments, legislation has tried to enact tax treaties with them. A tax treaty is an agreement made between two governing
bodies, allowing individuals to determine what income producing items are considered taxable, in which country, and whether or not the
primary country will allow a credit for foreign taxes paid or if they will be subjected to double taxation ("tax treaty"). Tax treaties, were
developed with the purpose of avoiding double taxation on worldwide income as well as tax evasion by resident individuals earning
income from abroad. South Africa currently has a tax treaty with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the Internal Revenue Code allows for a deduction in the computation of taxable income of a resident of South Africa, it is also allowed
in the convention. Also, the tax burden of the resident of the contracted state may not increase beyond the domestic burden; if it is not

taxpayer's liability to be determined by the convention between the United States and South Africa. The concept of the most beneficial
outcome without the attempt to integrate the best aspects of both options must be considered; however the choice must be made to use one
of the two and not a mixture. The treaty allows for the United States to tax its residents and citizens as if there were no treaty in place. The
reference to citizens includes former citizens or long–term residents whose loss of their status was for the purpose of tax avoidance; they

Textual Analysis: The Girl In The Red Coat
When the assignment was introduced, I took some time to read the first few pages of the texts that were available to be further research. I
chose this method of deciding because I was finding it difficult to nail down exactly what text I wanted to read and later research; because
I was interested in each of the books. As I was reading The Girl in the Red Coat, I was enthralled by how the text was written and found
myself being very interested in all of the characters. Due to this interest, I finished the memoir in less than a week. After I finished
reading, I concluded that I enjoyed the memoir for a number of different reasons, one reason being its style. Compared to other texts that
were discussed in class and presented from other groups, The Girl in the Red Coat was straightforward without being in the reader's face

presentation to fit within the time constraints given and not be too boring for the viewers. On a group level, this challenge put us back a
day, which led us to have to scramble the night before we presented to have everything set. Overall, this challenge was dealt with maturely
by all members of the group by means of constant communicating via our group text. Without having this group text, I do not think we
would have been working as a group, but rather individuals working on specific aspects of a project without being mindful of others

Financial Statement Presentation And Disclosure Of Revenue...
US GAAP After an entity determines the appropriate accounting for revenue–generating activities, it must determine the appropriate
financial statement presentation and disclosure of the results. Sometimes financial statement preparers do not give the same level of
attention to presentation and disclosure issues as they do to accounting for revenue–generating activities. However, investors, auditors,
and regulatory bodies focus on financial statement presentation and disclosures to obtain information about the types of revenue–
generating activities and the accounting for each activity. While more guidance exists for financial statement presentation and disclosure
issues facing public entities than for private entities, many private entities have adopted the public company requirements as a best
practice. Presentation: The financial statement presentation of revenue–generating activities is not always straightforward. Some of the
questions raised in evaluating how best to present the results of revenue–generating activities are as follows: Should the revenue be
reported gross or net? Is the entity principal or agent in the transaction? How should a vendor record consideration given to the customer
as an incentive in a revenue–generating activity? (This question has been addressed for product transactions in chapter 4.) Should the
transaction be classified as a gain or as revenue? Are any revenue amounts required to be presented separately? How are shipping and

Generating Organizational Creativity With Four Critical...
Generating Organizational Creativity with Four Critical Traits
Organizational creativity is when employees develop novel ideas as a whole or as an individual (Greenberg 2015). Whereas, innovation is
when novel ideas are implemented within the organization successfully by either improving something already established or introducing
something contemporary (Greenberg 2015; Ferlic 2008). However, business analysts that rank companies from most to least creative tend
to omit the criteria they use to determine what makes an organization innovative (Choudhary, 2014; Ferlic, 2008). Furthermore, the gap in
academic research in determining what critical traits are needed to encourage and enhance organizational creativity gives us reason to
examine these critical traits (Choudhary, 2014; Goudreau, 2013; Greenberg 2015).
In this paper, I will first introduce and analyze Choudhary's (2014) findings on the four critical traits of innovative organization. Along the
way, I will show that these traits alone are not adequate enough to garner organizational creativity because it is too dynamic of a concept
to be established with only "four critical traits". To conclude, I will argue that organizational creativity is a multifaceted term
encompassing other concepts particularly, innovation, culture, leadership, and motivation (Goudreau, 2013; Greenberg 2015).

Improve estimates of speed and distance for service routes by at least 20 percent. However, the metrics for these two goals were not
standard or measurable. In addition, in the define phase, the company did not collect and analyze customer opinions and preferences,
despite one of the deep purpose of the project being to improve customer satisfaction. As such there is little evidence to prove whether the
project goals were in line with user requirements or not. Besides, after the team set up the project goals, an in–frame/out–of–frame
analysis was established to manage the scope of the project from the information technical (IT) and branch operations perspective. This
was done to establish what was within direct control of the team and what was not. However, from a business perspective, they did not

Music Assessments Should Not Be Associated With The...
Purpose Music assessments should not be associated with the mentality of, just generating a grade, or, to pass the teaching evaluation.
Music assessments should be the commitment of providing feedback for students, and for teachers, in order to achieve and grasp a higher
standard of learning. According to Wesolowski (2015), it is said those who "track students progress can make a difference in the learning
and your teaching" (p. 39). To help achieve this mentality, do not solely weigh grades on non–achievable standards such as attendance and
class participation, but focus on performance based, or achievable aspects instead. In a study done by Joshua Russell and James Austin
(2015), it was found that sixty percent of teachers who grade on these standards of non–achievable quality have inflated grades, with three
quarters of students receiving an A and less than ten students receiving a C or lower (Russell and Austin, 2015, p. 48–49). Instead of using
this inflated policy, focus on grading the "valid indicators of achievement" (p. 53) for the student's performance, which was taken from
Pellegrino, Conway, & Russell's article (2015). These valid indicators point toward the student's use of tempo, dynamics, phrasing, and
other musical abilities. Importance of Goals Teaching effectively incorporates planned and well thought out goals. It is said in an article by
Hale and Green (2009), "teachers are most effective when they have clear learning goals in mind and implement

 Actions or activities that, when put together in a systematic manner, make up a plan to achieve a goal.
 When designing an intervention, the starting point should be the problems that were identified in the diagnosis.
 Objectives for the intervention must be based on the diagnosis and on the contract agreed with the client. They should clearly relate to
the needs of the client and goals of the project.
The consultant did not specify interventions in this scenario, with the exception of staff in–service meetings.

For staff, this there may be an adjustment period as information collected may reflect negatively on the staff or may contradict staffs own
belief about the difficult situations of communicating with patient families. Therefore, the consultant may need to find a balance between
sensitivity and directness when presenting data. The advantage of in–service meetings is the consultant will be able to observe
characteristics of staff, such as cultural and language differences, and verbal perceptions of death. Also, preparing the staff to acknowledge
and overcome workplace resistance by team–building activities that recognize how people deal with change may be beneficial in this
scenario (Mitchell et al.,2012). Team–based care and activities related to teams help ensure synergy, efficiency, and connections between
team–based care in interprofessional education, workforce development, health informatics, and care coordination (Mitchell et al.,2012).
Another objective would be to stimulate development of problem–solving skills as regards to resolution of dilemmas that are presenting in

Why Innovation Is An Tool For Generating Value And A...
The tendency of companies in recent years, as a result of globalization processes, has been to look for business strategies in order to
achieve improvement and competitiveness processes that become "fundamental for the growth of both production and productivity "(Oslo
Handbook, 2005), where innovation is the necessary tool for generating value and a source of competitive advantage. Explaining the
relationships with the product, the process and the management of the company and the innovation models, which in most cases are
adapted to the needs of each company.
Although there are different statements of the term innovation, in a broad sense it can be said that innovation is synonymous with change.
However, in detailing this concept are more precise definitions such as the one exposed by the Confederation of English Industries (1992),
which says that "Innovation is the success of the exploitation of new ideas. The relationship between them, and technology with the
commercial elements of management, marketing and knowledge"; While the OECD Oslo Manual, in its second version, explains it as the
introduction on the market of technologically new or improved products, as well as the use of production methods with technological
improvements ... Have performed for a certain period.
Schumpeter, who conceived innovation as one of the causes of economic development, understood it as a process of economic, social and
cultural transformation, defined as the introduction of new goods and

Essay on Self Evaluation on Group Discussion
The group discussion has just passed, and it was really a hard work and challenging. There were many precious lessons I got, and,
hopefully, so did with my friends. Our group was consisting of four students. As a quantity, reasonably, we had had enough power to do a
better work and gained a satisfying result. As I flashed back to the group discussion, it was enriching my memories. Some were in high
spirit, remarkable and enjoyable. Opposite to it, few were disappointing.
I still remembered that when we directed for the first meeting everyone was very enthusiastic and really keened to do it sooner. It was a
successful meeting. Unfortunately, I had to let my friend knew that I would be late for fifteen minutes. It was reasonable ... Show more

Hopefully, we would get a wide point of view to the case. Happily, it was worked out. We collected the problems and everyone got certain
problems to look for more information. I, myself, got to check out more for health insurance and law matters. Also, we had second
meeting to discuss about the report and presentation. At the meeting, we decided to give one or two topics each. Everyone got the same
chance to get the topics. Due to I got an introduction only, therefore, I had to help other pals. In addition, I offered myself to edit the report
and hope for the others' contribution as well. At the end of the meeting everyone was told to send their parts to me, and we would have an
online meeting. Also, the part that we got at the day would be, automatically, his or her responsibility for the presentation. This was a very
interesting and incredible group.
Everyone had sent me their part to me. After I compiled and edited the report we would have further meeting. We discussed about the next
meeting online. Everyone had agreed to have the meeting in the next two days. After class a day prior to the meeting, everyone was told
the meeting was going to be at nine o'clock next day. As usual, I came on time. My friends weren't at the meeting point yet. I thought they
would be late for fifteen or twenty minutes. I started working with the report. I wrote the whole report. I had finished the report at, less or

As a final journal, I will explain what events made an impression on my dental hygiene career as well as how the community was affected
positively and negatively.
What went well in all of the presented presentation; knowing the information, having an attentive audience, and presenting with
confidence. Our first presentation was at the Red Apple adult center, we had props to help clarify the information. Information presented
was descriptive to distinguish each section of the presentation. At the end of the presentation, we played a game called spine and show.

Adding addition topics to groups would have been an overload of information. Claude pepper, I believe that information was just too
much. I think we lost our audience within five minutes of our presentation. Not because of the presenting but mainly because of the
medical condition of our audience. In addition to my individual presentation, I think I could have added hygiene as a career information.
These young mothers would have benefited to know about the hygiene career. Add a slide in my presentation going over flexibility and
pay scale. Eliminating any topics from our group's presentation, I did not see the need. All topics were done according to our audience
needs. At red apple center, we cover denture care, nutrition, OHI. The we attended probably didn't need denture care. As a group we
covered it due to the request of the director. These topics was requested by the site's director, who know what our audience needed to
focus on. This course needs no change. I would like to suggest, setting up a table on Tuesday during PHSC lunch, letting the student be
aware of our smoking and drugs and OHI care of our local student. Our PHSC students are unaware of our clinic and work we provide to

Generating Hope: A Strategy for Reaching the Postmodern...
The Bible speaks of our contemporary society as exhibiting an obvious self–sufficiency that disgusts God and hurts our communal living
– for God intended that we lived as each other's keeper. Young people have embraced the postmodern worldview – one with confused
tenets that further allow youth freedom to be comfortable themselves with their own contradictions. Today, you can find that youth can be,
Optimistic about the future despite feeling unfulfilled in the present...deeply wounded by their families, yet most of them have a deep
commitment to achieving family health in the future... [or] are renowned for their relational emphasis, yet their pool of closest friends
changes regularly.
This worldview also suggests "a new tolerance" which accepts every belief equally and deserving of commendation. These tenets result in
the serious repercussions that are evident today and call for attention.
In his book, Generating Hope: A Strategy for Reaching the Postmodern Generation, Jimmy Long (who holds the M.Div. and D.Min. from
the Gordon–Conwell Theological Seminary) explores the power of community...adoption and hope for today's young adults who are
certainly not immune to the caused dissonance (of postmodernism) that has been inhibiting the realization of an ideal society. The book is
divided into three parts dealing with: "The Times they are A–Changing: A Sociological Analysis", "Longing to Belong: A Theological
Foundation" and "An Intimate Journey of Hope: A Frame for

Generating Electricity
Criteria A – Criteria B
Farzad Siganporia

Today in our modern society, us humans take a variety of things for granted. One particularly, goes unnoticed. One, which we cannot live
without, and one which changed our lives forever. ELECTRICITY. Electricity exists in a metropolis city, to aircrafts in the air to every
remote corner on our earth. During the 1800s, British scientist Michael Faraday discovered the fundamentals of generating electricity. His
method, which is movement of a loop of wire between the poles of a magnet, is still used today. Without electricity, the world would be a
different place to live in.

Electricity is then produced. Usually, several wind towers are built together in windy places to be called wind farms.
Clipart
Although this method tackles the problem as we can rely less on fossil fuels, it does have some limitations in the economic factor. Wind
turbines are extremely costly to develop and the cost is recovered only decades later. The cost for a commercial scale wind turbine ranges
from $1.2 million to $2.6 million, per MW of nameplate capacity installed. Most of the wind turbines today are 2 MW so roughly after
installation, a single wind tower could cost around $3.5 million. This is a very large amount and a very high initial cost for a company to
invest in. This is one factor why countries usually select fossil fuels. (Carla, eHow)
Another factor is the social factor. Wind farms are extremely noisy and spoil the view of people living near them. Wind farms affect
communities a lot and force communities to relocate. This also affects the life and welfare of human beings who live near them. It causes
noise pollution as well as it is an eye sore. So therefore it may be a problem for some countries to develop communities in that area and a
problem for local people who live nearby. (GCSE Bitesize) However, to every dark cloud has a silver lining. There are also benefits of
wind power. In the ethical factor, it is a positive step. Using wind power instead of fossil fuels

Generating High Revenue in an Organization
1. Executive Summary
An organizations main objective would be to generate high revenue and maximize profits. To generate this high revenue, it would be the
employees who would be working hard strategically and showing high performances to drive the organization towards achieving that goal.
High performance could be achieved only by well–motivated people who are prepared to exercise an extra effort. Even in fairly basic
roles, there is some level of motivation involved.
In a research by Hunter et al (1990), it was found that the difference in value added discretionary performance between 'superior' and
'standard' performers was 19 percent. For highly complex jobs it was 48 per cent. (Armstrong and Armstrong, 2009)
To motivate people it is necessary to understand the types of motivation and how it works with each skill level of people. The videos and
statements by Daniel Pink, Professor Jim Collins and Kathy Schofield taken in this context give an in–depth insight into the importance
motivation and self motivating environment.
2. Analysis of the videos and the statements
Drive –Daniel Pink
Daniel Pink is the author of five popular books which focus on the changing workplace. In Dan Pink's video about the drive he critically
analyses the traditional thinking where it is believed that more reward gives better performance, whereas when you punish something you
get lesser of that. It was found out through two experiments that only for simple and mechanical tasks,

Reflection On Group Presentation
In the group presentation, my group and I presented on the issue of –isms. This included focus on sexism, ageism, and racism. I felt that
each person in our group was very diverse and unique which made our presentation stand out with having a little bit of individuality from
each member in the presentation. Our main goal of communication was to inform the audience on what exactly each –ism is, discuss
where each one is found, and how the are influenced in today's society. From the start of the group presentation process, I found myself
being an emergent leader. With a lack of communication when our group first got together, I felt we were in need of leadership because it
seemed nobody else was going to do anything such as getting each others numbers or creating a group name, so I decided to take charge
the best I could. As time went on our group started to get our stuff together. With that said if we all began brainstorming and set up some
procedural needs from the start, the group would of been on the same page and maybe some wouldn't have waited until the last moment. I
was thankful for Jonathan for stepping up and helping the group get started with an outline and focusing on a question of policy along
with answering any other questions that arose during the presentation process. Once the deadline got closer however is when we
communicated the most. Sounds logical but my hope was that we all have most of the work done prior than the day before it was due so

• What Are The Main Reasons For Generating Steam?
What are the main reasons for generating steam?
The main reasons for generating steam are to; use it to generate electricity in a power plant. The steam is pressurised and comes into
contact with a turbine which then is forced to turn and when this is done around a magnetic field, electricity is formed. Another use for
steam is to use it as a heat transfer material in the process industry. The steam that is generated inside a boiler will be transported into a
heat exchanger, this then gives off its heat to allow the heating of the process fluid. The steam from both methods will condense when it
gives up most of its energy and can be reused in the system in an attempt to save raw water usages.

The valve is manufactured to open when a certain amount of pressure in a system is achieved; the valve that works on the tension of a
spring will open, allowing the exit of the vapour causing the high pressure so that the system pressure goes back down to normal working
parameters. Check/Non return valves:
Check valves or non–return valves are used to ensure there is only one direction of flow; these are commonly used when there is a larger
pressure downstream so it stops the pressure coming back up the pipeline. These are often also found before the entry into a reactor vessel
so that an unstable reaction is unable to occur before all of the reactants are inside the reactor vessel. These often work on springs and are
also found on both sides of the piston chamber, around the inlet and outlet of the chamber in any kind of piston found from a reciprocating
pump to car engines. http://uk.grundfos.com/service–support/encyclopedia–search/non–return–valve.html Globe

The Role Of Conspiracy And Conspiratorial Thinking On...
The role of conspiracy and conspiratorial thinking in generating and intensifying the French Revolution was very great to the affect it very
much, bringing much fear to the public. The actions of the king, queen to make these fears to be risen were things; i.e. the bringing of the
troops, army to Paris, the tramping of people that were protesting by the soldiers, and the fear that the kings, nobles were going to stop the
revolution from happening. During the time of the revolution, there were many fears going on at the same time, and mostly dealing with
the army, troops coming into Paris. These fears were increasing by the actions of the king and him ordering the troops to come to Paris.
What the king didn't know about what he was doing was that he was going to make it worse, and having revolts would come from this
order. What made the king bring the troops to Paris, was that he wanted to make sure to have control over the crowds from food riots from
the rising grain prices, them not having enough bread to feed the people of Paris, and bring back of order to the city. This action of having
them on standby, was in the minds of the people was increasing fear of the army, when they were moving closer to the city. What the
people thought of this actions, was a conspiracy against them. The kind of the fears they had were of the other side, and it was escalating
very fast, and it was becoming more violated over time. What else brought them fear, was their hero, Necker was fired

The Importance Of An Effective Team For A Team
Reflecting on experience is an important capability for an individual to be able to move forward. As (SOURCE) said, "(CONTEXT").
Moreover, individuals ought to be able to work not only individually, but also to work together in a group. Working with other people,
especially whom you have not known is not as easy as it seems. In fact, it is quite difficult to develop an effective team. Through this
reflection essay on the group presentation that I did last Monday, I have become more aware of useful strategies to deal with issues and
understand what could be improved for future presentations. Developing teamwork skills is am important benefit for me as future
professional workers. The major benefit of working in a team for me is that it facilitated and provide a great exercise to develop a
teamwork skill. As I work in a team, I learned not only to confidently tell my ideas to the whole group member, but also to listen to their
ideas and feedbacks. A leader was not elected for the group. In return, each group member with different background take turns to talk
about their ideas. We discussed problems and ideas of how the presentation is going to go with an open–mind and understanding. Our
group has a total of two meetings in Monash University and went through each process together to make sure that we all had an
agreement.Working together from the very first start is very important as it improved outcomes (SOURCE). My team members and I felt

The Test Of Multicollinearity Test And Then Generating The...
For the test of Multicollinearity, I have used the ADF test and then generating the first difference variables and running regression to
correct the Multicollinearity. First using the Dicky–Fuller test, the non–stationary variables were separated from the stationary variables.
After which, the non–stationary variables were made stationary by using the first difference for these variables and getting them close to
the mean. Now, the last step to correct the Multicollinearity was to run regression on the first difference variables. The results for this OLS
regression using the first difference variables, we have only 4 significant variables as compared to 8 significant variable in the original

Another variable that is significant is the S&P 500 stock index. It's significant at 1% significance level. The sign for the estimates is
negative, which is similar to the intuitively one would think of. Since, we know that the investors will be investing in the gold whenever
they are not confident about the market outlook, so they will be pulling out their investment from the stock market and putting it in the
gold market. Which makes sense as the sign of the estimates is negative. Now, to interpret the estimates for S&P 500 variable, we can say
that a unit decrease in the stock market will increase the gold price by close to $1. Which means that there is equal increase in the gold
prices as the decrease in the stock market. Treasury inflation indexed securities is another variable that is significant at 1% significance
level. Now, since the TIPS are indexed to the inflation, the TIPS will increase whenever there is inflation and decrease when there is
deflation. The sign for the variable is negative meaning that a unit increase in the TIPS level will increase the gold prices by $0.95. Since,
the TIPS level is increasing there is inflation and because of that it makes sense that the investors will be investing in the gold market
when there is increase in the inflation. Oil prices variable is also significant at 5% significance level. These means that the with a unit
increase in the prices of oil future contracts will increase the price of gold by $.80 cents,

Sqfe method Under Uncertain Conditions by Generating Fuzzy Membership Function
Abstract: The quality–based approach SQFE (Suivi Qualite Par le Fournisseur Exterieur) has been introduced by three automotive
corporations to measure the quality of supplier products. This approach proposes a general criterion by which inspection samples are
classified to different demerit categories with different weights, to compute mean unit demerit for each measurable quality characteristic.
However, the assignment of an actual and crisp demerit weight to each sample is unrealistic, in the face of the unavoidable measurement
errors as well as the inevitable uncertainty involved in human judgment. In this paper an improved estimation procedure which is based on
fuzzy logic instead of bivalent logic, is presented to calculate s. The fuzzy set theory is used to add more accuracy and flexibility to the
analysis. For this aim, "likelihood view" has been adapted to generate fuzzy membership function, in order to assign the appropriate
demerit weight to each sample. In addition, a numerical example that evaluates products based on the proposed method and compares it
with the current standard procedure is presented.

Many kinds of classification systems have been provided in various military and International organizations for Standardization (ISO)such

The Plan For The Group Adventure
For our group adventure, we did something that no one would expect. After considering Professor Carly's recommendation, we decide to
go with it. We decide to meet up before class on Wednesday at the nearby Starbucks. But, we met at Starbucks an hour before class, which
is 0700 am. It was the only option for all of us since there wasn't any time slot that is available for all of us. It was really tough waking up
for the group adventure, but it was fun. While drinking coffee and eating breakfast, we get to know more about each other and we got
close very well. Other than meeting at Starbucks, we get together again at Walter Library, where we discussed for our upcoming group

For example, while making for our group presentation, I recommend to the group using Prezi, which is an online based presentation slide.
Although it was my responsibility in making the slide look good during the presentation, I decided that we all should have the chance to
edit the slide, and make it look good, rather than I doing it by myself, therefore, by doing that way, there won't be any superiority feeling
towards one another. Another concepts is Group Cohesiveness. Having a good bond within the group members is a must, since it will
allow us all to work more efficiently, resulting higher quality of result. Building cohesiveness is like bringing us together. The main
strategic to build group cohesiveness are encouraging compatible membership, develop shared goals, accomplish task, develop a positive
history of cooperation, and promote acceptance of group members (80). During our group adventure, we developed our group
cohesiveness very well. Our first meeting was very awkward, we encourage one another, talk about where we came from. During our first
meeting at Starbucks, we enjoy each other's company where we talk about life, school, traveling, and work experiences. We shared the
same goal from the beginning where we all aim to get good grades from this class through the small group projects. Our first time working
together is when preparing our group adventure presentation. We work very cooperatively, dividing jobs within one another,

The Role Played by Women in Generating More Revenue in the...
Q.1 Could female economy play better role in different companies to increase revenue/sales in future?
Yes, female economy could play fruitful role in future for different companies in term of increase sales/revenue. Because according to
Harvard Business Review women represent one of the largest market opportunities in the world. The numbers of female workers are
increasing day by day, till the end of 2014, more than $28 trillion consumer spending will belong to females all over the world and the
income of females could cross $18 trillion during same period which is two times bigger than China and India combined G.D.P. All big
companies are more likely to target female customers but the biggest potential of female buyers lies on six main industries where
companies could get more revenue by targeting females. In four industries females are most likely to spend more in Food, Fitness, Beauty
and Apparel and rest of two industries are Financial Services and Health Care where women are not satisfied. Companies are belonged to
these six industries have got big opportunity to generate huge revenues by capturing the interest of working women.
Food Industry
Food is representing one of the largest opportunities because large numbers of female buyers are involved in grocery shopping and meal
preparation. I talk about Pakistan; next 15 to 20 years Pakistan will also become emerging female market, female will be more

The Tuckman Model : The Phase Theory Of Group Communication
A small group is defined as three to fifteen people, but five to seven members will maximize the groups efficiency (Valenzano, 2017).
Groups are a part of every one's day to day life and are found everywhere. Even from birth, one may have been involved in a group.
Groups are found in schools, careers, friendships, everything. Every group varies, and so one would have to learn how to work with
different types of people. Having a group to work on a project with can be a helpful thing or a dreading thing. During the process of
creating our group presentation, there were a variety of communication concepts that "came to life," our group had a certain way we could
work together, and we figured out how to present the presentation effectively. According to "Small group Communication" in
Communication Pathways, there are two models of group development: Phase Theory and the Tuckman Model. The Phase Theory of
Group Development was built by several scholars and their findings. In this model, there are four phases that a group will naturally go
through: orientation, conflict, emergence, reinforcement. The Tuckman Model of Group Development is based on five different stages,
rather than four, and it allows for groups to potentially skip a stage and still accomplish their goal or task. These stages include forming,
storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. During the development of our group, I feel as if my group fell more along the lines of
Phase Theory rather than the Tuckman

Predicting Or Generating Expectations By Serena Lo Monaco

  • 1. Predicting Or Generating Expectations By Serena Lo Monaco Serena Lo Monaco Journal Predicting or Generating Expectations Currently while reading, it is safe to say the main protagonist of the novel is trying to escape his past life by leaving behind everything he's known for a new adventure featuring new people. Already he has tried to fit in by being something he is not. It is evident through his speech versus his thoughts. Short term events could consist of him changing who he is to fit into the current way of life he has walked into. Long term events could consist of the adventure he has with the new people he has met. He begins to fall for a taken girl amongst it all, but never voices his feelings for her. In the future the most important events could involve the girl and the lessons he learns along the way based on what is right compared to what is wrong. Puzzles Some questions I have been asking myself along the way have been, "What is the Great Perhaps of the characters in the story?", "all of the important events take place on Culver Creek Campus, why is this?". Another thing I have been thinking of is that John Green keeps the entire novel in the main character, Miles' point of view. Why is this? Why have no other characters been given the ability to share their perspective on the important events happening as the story progresses? Filling the Gaps Everything Miles is going to go through in this book is for a reason. This book is very similar to real life in a sense that Miles is a typical teenager and wants ... • 3. An Organization Running, And Generating Profits Essay Regardless of the industry, keeping an organization running, and generating profits, can be a daunting task especially if the market is currently dominated by large corporations. Roughly 60 to 80 percent of new businesses end in failure, meaning that in a highly competitive market, it is imperative to keep in control of factors easily monitored. There are several reasons that a company may fail to thrive in the market and some, such as market conditions, are outside of anyone's control; however, many businesses fail because of poorly managing finances. By hiring a financial consultant, an organization improves the odds of navigating the unclear waters of the market, which can be unpredictable and can turn on a moments notice. In the end, generating revenue is the primary goal of any organization because if the company does not have funds available to operate, all of their others objectives fall to the wayside. Food is one of the most diverse industries since the tastes of each individual are unique, giving companies more options product diversification. Recently, a company has developed a new alternative to soda that is a 25 calorie, all–natural sparkling beverage, having only 5 grams of sugar and no chemicals or preservatives. Additionally, the product is available in four fruit flavors which include apple, grade, orange, and pineapple. Introduced in Flordia, over the last two years, the growth of the product and marketing techniques have increased significantly. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Fossil Fuels And Alternative Methods Of Generating... FOSSIL FUELS AND ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF GENERATING ELECTRICITY What are fossil fuels? Fossil fuels are natural resources created under the Earth's surface from the remains of ancient organisms. These organisms include plants and animals and other organic matter. How are fossil fuels formed? Millions of years ago most of the land on Earth was covered with swamps and forests. As trees and plants died, they would sink to the bottom of the swamps. As more trees and plants died their remains would bury dead plants and organic matter underneath them creating layers of dead plants. As the layers of rotting material build up in the forests and swamps it is compressed by the heavy weight of the plants and water. This weight with high temperatures removes the moisture from the organic decaying matter. This creates peat. Over millions of years peat was covered by sand and clay and other minerals. These sediments changed into rocks called sedimentary rocks. Rock continued to pile up and compress the peat. This caused the water to be squeezed from the peat. Over millions of year this process turned peat into fossil fuels such as natural gas, oil and coal. Three examples of fossil fuels Three examples of fossil fuels include: Coal Oil Natural gas How are these fossil fuels used in Australia? COAL Coal is used to produce 80% of the nation's electricity use. This is achieved by the burning of the coal to generate steam to power the turbines to create electricity. Coal ... • 7. The Use of Turbine Blades in Generating Electricity Essay The Use of Turbine Blades in Generating Electricity Turbines are used in many different ways produce and generate electricity. They are used as gas turbines, coal turbines and steam turbines. Each one has a different property, which makes it unique. Airlines and cars generally run on gas turbines. Steam engines, ships and railway engines run on coal turbines as coal produces a high amount of energy that enables them to run for long length of time before adding more coal. In order for these turbine's to operate well and efficiently with as little maintenance as possible, it is necessary for the turbine's to have well–constructed, well designed turbine blades. They have to have certain properties that enable them to withstand high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to cope with the pressures of having to implement the need to be lightweight and environmentally friendly, they have to improve the mechanical and thermal strength in order to match keep up with the rising technology and competition. Turbine blades have to be able to endure temperatures around and greater then 500OC, in order for them to be useful. A reasonably lightweight alloy commonly used in the production of turbine blades is an often a long SiC–fibre reinforced titanium alloy for the highly mechanically loaded parts. By using "sputtering" techniques followed by hot isostatic pressing cycles, the components then become strengthened in comparison to conventional materials, which are manufactured. These alloys are heavily researched to adapt to long–term behaviour which the turbines and blades undergo. These researches focuses on the durability of the turbines and degrading reactions at fibre–matrix interfaces as well as internal protective layers. This means that they test the materials under extreme conditions e.g. high temperatures or duration periods, which will enable them to find the stress points which will be more prone to damage than other areas as well as disintegration points. By conducting these research experiments, engineers have been able to produce a fibre reinforced material that is oxidation resistant (rusting) and damage tolerant for a long duration of time and for temperature up to 1400OC, ... • 9. Education As A Core Element Of Generating Quality Human... Sociopolitical context Education is acknowledged to be one of the seven priorities of "Kazakhstan – 2030" Strategy. As it is particularly stated in state policy documents, the common goal of education reforms in Kazakhstan is to adapt the education system to global socio– economic environment (State Program on Development of Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011–2020). Kazakhstan is on the way of its transformation to be one of the 50 most competitive countries in the world. To achieve this ambitious goal, the country is overhauling its educational system to be able to produce quality human capital as it will significantly result in benefit for economy and society (Bhuiyan, 2011). Therefore, gifted education is considered to be a core element of generating quality human capital; hence, a great deal of resources has been investing into education in order to implement strategies to provide a high quality education for gifted children (Hernandez–Torrano & Abisheva, 2013). There are a lot of issues beyond gifted education in terms of identifications, perceptions, teaching methods, peculiarities and etc. Nowadays, different ways of supporting and organizing gifted children's activities are being discussed by the majority of scholars. For instance, according to Kazakhstani scholars (Damitov et al., 2006; Damitov et al.,2009) the importance of practical activities, scientific and educational research is prioritized in several policy documents such as: ... • 11. Marketing Concept Of Customer Generating Marketing Customer generating marketing has become very popular nowadays given the explosion in digital and social media. Engaging customers on a more personal interactive level is key to your bottom line. The marketing concept suggests that company strategies should revolve around creating customer value by engaging customers and building profitable relationships. In order for your company to be successful, all members of the company must participate in marketing, not just the marketing department. They must want to create value for the customer in order to engage them. It is a team effort. That is why it is important to understand marketing and how you play a role or fit in it. A value delivery network is key to delivering customer value. Suppliers, distributors, employees, and customers must work together closely to improve the performance of the entire system. Developing differentiation in the market contributes in creating superior customer value in order to capture value in return. Companies that understand their brand and communicate it well to their targeted audience are going to achieve success. As consumers change, companies must change with them. If they fail to adapt, it is a good chance they will be left behind. T–Mobile is a good illustration of creating differentiation and adapting to consumer changes in the market. Cellular customers have become tired of being locked into two year agreements with their cellular providers. They wanted to have the freedom of switching ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Reflection Paper On Group Work COMS2103 was a great experience for me. In the past, I have had very negative group experience. This was from a lack of attendance by other group members, lack of communication, and simply a lack of work ethic. I was hesitant before joining COMS2103 because of my past experiences, but I am so glad I stuck with it. My group was very pleasant to work with and I felt less stressed than before in other group settings. As this course comes to an end, I am pleased with how our group worked together and I cannot wait to work with them again in COMS2105. With this being a Community Studies course, it was assumed that there was going to be a lot of group work. Of course, this turned out to be true. Like I have said above, I was really nervous to be thrown into group work again. This time was different, though. On the first day of class, we spent some time getting to know each other. It turned out that many of us were from the same area and focusing on the same aspects in school. I even knew Patti and Sam from COMS1100, but there was still some catching up to do. A few of our group members are from other parts of the province, and even as far as Ontario. This fact was interesting during discussions as we had a few "cultural differences". Beginning any project with this group was never an issue. Somebody was always ready to start the conversation and the rest of the group was always just as willing and comfortable to contribute to the conversation. In our group contract, we had an ... • 15. The Disaster Of Nuclear Generating Station Essay Abstract: In the early morning hours of 28th March 1979, the worst disaster in the history of nuclear energy production in the US took place. Unit Two of the Three Mile Island had a meltdown releasing some amount of radioactivity into the surrounding area. The meltdown led to the possibility of Unit 2 of the reactor facility to explode. The ramifications of the accident revealed the conceptual difficulties of assessing social risks and the political difficulties in managing them (Nelkin, March 1981).This paper aims at describing the accident, the post– accident setup and clean–up and the various losses which have been attributed to the disaster. It also intends to develop an understanding of the various complex issues and social vulnerabilities and risks that caused the disaster. The paper raises a very important question about the safety of the nuclear power plants in the world and the risk the reactors pose to the people and environment as a whole. Introduction: The Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station (TMI) is located in the Susquehanna River flowing in the south of Harrisburg Town in the state of Pennsylvania, U.S. The generating station comprises of two generating units TMI–1 and TMI–2. TMI–1 has a generating capacity of 852 MWe and the commercial operation began in 1974. Unit Two of the Three Mile Island Generating Station was similar in construction to Unit One. It was of a slightly higher capacity than Unit One and the generating capacity was 906 MWe. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. High Altitude Wind Power Generating System Essay High Altitude Wind Power Generating System Objectives: 1. To design and fabricate an indigenous small scale model of an Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) System. 2. To assemble all the components of the Airborne Wind Turbine. 3. To conduct experimental analysis in order to obtain optimum outcome. Introduction: Electricity is the physical phenomena associated with the presence and flow of electric charges. It plays a vital role in our day to day life. It is used in industries and household appliances like fan, television, computer, heater etc. Without electricity it is difficult to lead our life comfortably. In present generation, the consumption of electricity is more than its production. Hence, huge amount of electrical energy has to be produced to meet the present requirements. There are a plenty of ways by which electrical energy can be produced which includes the usage of both renewable and non–renewable energy resources like solar energy, wind energy, nuclear energy etc. This proposal deals with the production of electricity by using Magenn Air Rotor System (MARS) which is one of an airborne wind energy systems. It requires very minimal wind to function and its implementation saves the conventional energy sources as well as create pollution free environment. Magenn Air Rotor System (MARS) is one of the lighter than air wind turbine that rotates about horizontal axis in response to wind, thereby generating electrical energy at a lower cost. The generated electricity can be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is suggested that "groups have the potential to outperform individuals" (Mottola & Utkus, 2009). There are several facets that impact teamwork, including communication, and cooperation. Conflicts and challenges are also important aspects that can occur in teamwork. It is imperative to understand effective models, and actions that can be taken to establish successful work. Experiential learning will be used to analyze a group experience that the author found to be meaningful. Additionally, team dynamic concepts and theories will aid in analyzing the experience. Concrete Experience A meaningful group experience revolved around a group presentation for evolutionary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The various challenges and conflicts impacted all the members of the group, and resulted in a subpar presentation. As the presentation was a significant portion of our final grade, it was imperative for the author as well as several other members to take initiative and salvage the presentation before it was a complete disaster. The author behaved in this manner to ensure the requirements of the assignment were met, and the presentation was delivered in order to avoid failure for the assignment. The other members of the group that also took initiative to complete the assignment were motivated to achieve these goals as well. The individuals that lacked participation were fueled by conflict and determined to create a negative experience because of refusal for agreement. The individuals removed themselves from the group and choose to work on aspects of the presentation alone. This impacted the group negatively because there was lack of communication, and opinions from everyone involved. Joan Bunashe and Lindsay Broder suggest that "conflict isolates individuals and can have an impact on creativity and productivity" (Bunashe & Broder, 2015). The actions of the individuals who refused to participate in the group obstructed the presentation flow, and resulted in a negative experience for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Ibm Is Generating A High Profit Essay average of 1% IBM is generating a high profit margin to earn a greater profit. Return on Assets: Return on Assets (ROA) measures how profitably a company uses their assets by net income divided by the average total assets. Assets are either tangible or intangible items the company owns. For example, things like buildings, equipment, cash, office supplies, or accounts receivable (receiving cash from customers on services you have performed). To find the average total assets, you use the same idea as the return on equity method, but instead you add up all of the assets and average them, instead of using just one account. IBM measured ROA of 13% in 2013 and 10% in 2014. In order to know how well the company did, it's best to compare these percentages to the industry average of 1.6% to get a better idea of where they stand. In this case, IBM produces more profit for every $1, than the industry average. Even though there may have been a slight decline, IBM is still currently producing well above. Profitability Conclusion: IBM was well above the industry average for all of the profitability ratios with given industry averages. Although the company was successful in this category it doesn't mean the company is successful as a whole. There are other groups to consider before making a final judgement on how well IBM's performance is. Due to the various forms of generating income and the availability to generate it in various incorporated organizations within these different governments, legislation has tried to enact tax treaties with them. A tax treaty is an agreement made between two governing bodies, allowing individuals to determine what income producing items are considered taxable, in which country, and whether or not the primary country will allow a credit for foreign taxes paid or if they will be subjected to double taxation ("tax treaty"). Tax treaties, were developed with the purpose of avoiding double taxation on worldwide income as well as tax evasion by resident individuals earning income from abroad. Also, the tax burden of the resident of the contracted state may not increase beyond the domestic burden; if it is not considered taxable within the internal law, it may not be considered a right to tax based on the convention. There is no obligation for the taxpayer's liability to be determined by the convention between the United States and South Africa. The reference to citizens includes former citizens or long–term residents whose loss of their status was for the purpose of tax avoidance; they would be considered a citizen for tax purposes if they were a lawful permanent resident in 8 of the previous 15 taxable years. As I was reading The Girl in the Red Coat, I was enthralled by how the text was written and found myself being very interested in all of the characters. Due to this interest, I finished the memoir in less than a week. After I finished reading, I concluded that I enjoyed the memoir for a number of different reasons, one reason being its style. US GAAP After an entity determines the appropriate accounting for revenue–generating activities, it must determine the appropriate financial statement presentation and disclosure of the results. Sometimes financial statement preparers do not give the same level of attention to presentation and disclosure issues as they do to accounting for revenue–generating activities. However, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies focus on financial statement presentation and disclosures to obtain information about the types of revenue– generating activities and the accounting for each activity. While more guidance exists for financial statement presentation and disclosure issues facing public entities than for private entities, many private entities have adopted the public company requirements as a best practice. Presentation: The financial statement presentation of revenue–generating activities is not always straightforward. Some of the questions raised in evaluating how best to present the results of revenue–generating activities are as follows: Should the revenue be reported gross or net? Is the entity principal or agent in the transaction? How should a vendor record consideration given to the customer as an incentive in a revenue–generating activity? (This question has been addressed for product transactions in chapter 4.) Should the transaction be classified as a gain or as revenue? Are any revenue amounts required to be presented separately? Efficiency improvement was primarily supported by inventory reduction efforts that, coupled with increase in accounts payable derived from shifts in timing of payments, reduced the cash conversion cycle to 43 days. It is worth noting that during fiscal 2012 the balance sheet had an important growth as a result of the acquisition of the international Yoplait business, including goodwill and other intangible assets of $2.3 bn USD. Sales growth also benefited from the acquisition and will be discussed in the next section. General Mills runs a leveraged operation where, in average, the total assets are 3 times shareholders equity. Leverage ratio has decreased since 2010 as retained earnings have increased at a faster pace than assets driven by strong business performance. A slight revamp in the leverage ratio during fiscal 2012 was mainly driven by an increase in other comprehensive losses related to pensions and postemployment activity, and foreign currency translation that offset retained earnings for the same period. Sustainable growth while generating strong levels of cash flows General Mills has shown a strong, sustainable growth throughout the last years. • 37. Generating Organizational Creativity With Four Critical... Generating Organizational Creativity with Four Critical Traits Organizational creativity is when employees develop novel ideas as a whole or as an individual (Greenberg 2015). Whereas, innovation is when novel ideas are implemented within the organization successfully by either improving something already established or introducing something contemporary (Greenberg 2015; Ferlic 2008). However, business analysts that rank companies from most to least creative tend to omit the criteria they use to determine what makes an organization innovative (Choudhary, 2014; Ferlic, 2008). Furthermore, the gap in academic research in determining what critical traits are needed to encourage and enhance organizational creativity gives us reason to examine these critical traits (Choudhary, 2014; Goudreau, 2013; Greenberg 2015). In this paper, I will first introduce and analyze Choudhary's (2014) findings on the four critical traits of innovative organization. Along the way, I will show that these traits alone are not adequate enough to garner organizational creativity because it is too dynamic of a concept to be established with only "four critical traits". To conclude, I will argue that organizational creativity is a multifaceted term encompassing other concepts particularly, innovation, culture, leadership, and motivation (Goudreau, 2013; Greenberg 2015). Due to the lack of academic data on this subject, the study analyzed "Fast Company's Top 50 Most Innovative List" rankings from 2009 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Music Assessments Should Not Be Associated With The... Purpose Music assessments should not be associated with the mentality of, just generating a grade, or, to pass the teaching evaluation. Music assessments should be the commitment of providing feedback for students, and for teachers, in order to achieve and grasp a higher standard of learning. According to Wesolowski (2015), it is said those who "track students progress can make a difference in the learning and your teaching" (p. 39). To help achieve this mentality, do not solely weigh grades on non–achievable standards such as attendance and class participation, but focus on performance based, or achievable aspects instead. In a study done by Joshua Russell and James Austin (2015), it was found that sixty percent of teachers who grade on these standards of non–achievable quality have inflated grades, with three quarters of students receiving an A and less than ten students receiving a C or lower (Russell and Austin, 2015, p. 48–49). Instead of using this inflated policy, focus on grading the "valid indicators of achievement" (p. 53) for the student's performance, which was taken from Pellegrino, Conway, & Russell's article (2015). These valid indicators point toward the student's use of tempo, dynamics, phrasing, and other musical abilities. Importance of Goals Teaching effectively incorporates planned and well thought out goals. During the 1800s, British scientist Michael Faraday discovered the fundamentals of generating electricity. Usually, several wind towers are built together in windy places to be called wind farms. Clipart Although this method tackles the problem as we can rely less on fossil fuels, it does have some limitations in the economic factor. Wind turbines are extremely costly to develop and the cost is recovered only decades later. The cost for a commercial scale wind turbine ranges from $1.2 million to $2.6 million, per MW of nameplate capacity installed. Most of the wind turbines today are 2 MW so roughly after installation, a single wind tower could cost around $3.5 million. This is a very large amount and a very high initial cost for a company to invest in. This is one factor why countries usually select fossil fuels. (Carla, eHow) Another factor is the social factor. Wind farms are extremely noisy and spoil the view of people living near them. Wind farms affect communities a lot and force communities to relocate. This also affects the life and welfare of human beings who live near them. It causes noise pollution as well as it is an eye sore. So therefore it may be a problem for some countries to develop communities in that area and a problem for local people who live nearby. To generate this high revenue, it would be the employees who would be working hard strategically and showing high performances to drive the organization towards achieving that goal. High performance could be achieved only by well–motivated people who are prepared to exercise an extra effort. Even in fairly basic roles, there is some level of motivation involved. In a research by Hunter et al (1990), it was found that the difference in value added discretionary performance between 'superior' and 'standard' performers was 19 percent. For highly complex jobs it was 48 per cent. (Armstrong and Armstrong, 2009) To motivate people it is necessary to understand the types of motivation and how it works with each skill level of people. The main reasons for generating steam are to; use it to generate electricity in a power plant. The steam is pressurised and comes into contact with a turbine which then is forced to turn and when this is done around a magnetic field, electricity is formed. Another use for steam is to use it as a heat transfer material in the process industry. The steam that is generated inside a boiler will be transported into a heat exchanger, this then gives off its heat to allow the heating of the process fluid. The sign for the estimates is negative, which is similar to the intuitively one would think of. Since, we know that the investors will be investing in the gold whenever they are not confident about the market outlook, so they will be pulling out their investment from the stock market and putting it in the gold market. Which makes sense as the sign of the estimates is negative. Now, to interpret the estimates for S&P 500 variable, we can say that a unit decrease in the stock market will increase the gold price by close to $1. Which means that there is equal increase in the gold prices as the decrease in the stock market. Treasury inflation indexed securities is another variable that is significant at 1% significance level. Sqfe method Under Uncertain Conditions by Generating Fuzzy Membership Function Abstract: The quality–based approach SQFE (Suivi Qualite Par le Fournisseur Exterieur) has been introduced by three automotive corporations to measure the quality of supplier products. This approach proposes a general criterion by which inspection samples are classified to different demerit categories with different weights, to compute mean unit demerit for each measurable quality characteristic. However, the assignment of an actual and crisp demerit weight to each sample is unrealistic, in the face of the unavoidable measurement errors as well as the inevitable uncertainty involved in human judgment. In this paper an improved estimation procedure which is based on fuzzy logic instead of bivalent logic, is presented to calculate s. The fuzzy set theory is used to add more accuracy and flexibility to the analysis. For this aim, "likelihood view" has been adapted to generate fuzzy membership function, in order to assign the appropriate demerit weight to each sample. In addition, a numerical example that evaluates products based on the proposed method and compares it with the current standard procedure is presented.
