TOPIC OUTLINE: 1. The Normal Curve a. Definition/Description b. Area Under Normal Curve 2. Standard Scores a. Z-Scores b. T-Scores c. Other Standard Scores Karl Friedrich Gauss: one of the scientist that developed the concept of normal curve. Normal Curve is a continuous probability distribution in statistics Karl Pearson: first to refer to the curve as “Normal Curve” Asymptotic: approaching the x-axis but never touches it Symmetric: made up of exactly similar parts facing each other STANDARD SCORES -is a raw score that has been converted from one scale to another scale. Z-scores called a zero plus or minus one scale Scores can be positive and negative T-Scores a none of the scores is negative. It can be called a 50 plus or minus ten scale. ( 50 mean set and 10 SD set ) Stanine: Standard Nine (STAndard NINE) is a method of scaling test scores on a nine-point standard scale with a mean of five and a standard deviation of two.

Explaining the concept of data types, methods of representing and distributing them using diagrams, clarifying the concept of probability, defining probability theory and methods of its distribution, explaining the basic concepts and laws of the most important distribution methods used, along with illustrative examples and graphs. Probability plays an essential role in our daily life by predicting the possibility of an event, which is the theory that the statistician uses to help him know how well the random sample under study represents the community from which the sample is taken. Three important problems based on the rules of probability are 1. Knowledge of data types and ways of representing them represented by relative frequency. 2.Methods of estimating such as probability distributions. 3.Calculating the probability in terms of other known probabilities through operations such as union, intersection, and the laws of probability.

When modeling a system, encountering missing data is common. What shall a modeler do in the case of unknown or missing information? When dealing with missing data, it is critical to make correct assumptions to ensure that the system is accurate. One must common strategy for handling such situations is calculate the average of available data for the similar existing systems (i.e., creating sampling data). Use this average as a reasonable estimate for the missing value.
