2. INTRODUCTION
The British museum has a variety of artwork
that express different
regions, themes, materials , and etc. The
artwork I chose consist of
sculptures, clay, and textile.
3. CLAY WATER VESSEL
The “Water Vessel” by S. Posey is a clay
piece that has lines that are vertical,
horizontal, and diagonal.
• The visual elements of lines are
perceived as a delicate and elegant
design.
• The principles of design shown are
balance and emphasis.
• This is a three dimensional sculpture.
4. CLAY GROUND WATER JAR
This clay artwork is called “Greek Vases” by
D. Williams is three-dimensional. It has 3 thin
black horizontal lines in the midline of the vase.
The clay water-jar is balanced on a geometrical
square base.
5. TEXTILE WOMAN’S HEAD SHAWL
This “North African textiles” by C.J. Spring is very
Colorful and has many visual elements.
•Such visual elements include: lines (contour),

7. ART GALLERY LAYOUT
As a whole, all the art pieces are visually
connected through lines. I chose all four
portraits which exhibit similarities .The
thematic connection of the three pieces
involve women and one is symbolic for
death. I would exhibit them in a gallery in the
order of textiles and then sculptures.
