Is quiet quitting a good thing or bad thing?
“Quiet quitting” has been all over the media lately. The concept was captured in a Tik Tok video by “zaidleppelin” that went viral: “Quiet quitting is not that you are quitting your job, but you are quitting the idea of going above and beyond at work. . . .Work is NOT your life. Your work is not defined by your productive output.” This has become controversial depending on your understanding of the phenomenon and your point of view. If nothing else, the controversy has generated a lot of fundamental questions that need to be addressed, particularly in this post pandemic world, where the nature of work is changing in dramatic ways (e.g., remote work). Dr. De Young, will lead a discussion to address these questions: Why has “quiet quitting” generated so much media hype, right now? What are the causes of quiet quitting? Is quiet quitting a good thing or bad thing? Is this good for your mental health? What about for your career? And what about for the company

Defining your talent landscape ahead of time and not taking a shotgun approach to candidate sourcing can make or break your ability to attract and ultimately hire the right people in to your business. In these slides, we examine the scenarios in which we can use LinkedIn Recruiter to map the talent market, allowing you to effectively guide your business on hiring strategy and plans with data.

Designing for Diversity - Global Recruiter SummitLinkedIn Europe
Presenter: Sophie Mitchell, Global Solutions Consultant, LinkedIn
Building diverse teams is of the utmost importance for today’s businesses.
These businesses aren’t just ticking a box, saying the right thing or trying to burnish their brand with a sense of purpose. They’re responding to hard data and a growing body of evidence that shows diversity to be one of the most vital sources of competitive advantage.
However, the evidence is also growing that no business, large or small, can simply decide to be more diverse. As recruitment businesses seek to hire more diverse teams for their clients and for their own organisations, the reality is these initiatives are hard work. Achieving diversity requires deliberate design – and it requires the right types of actionable insights to drive that design.

Is Wearable Technology part of your Daily Life?LinkedIn Europe
The world’s professionals are driving the adoption of wearable technology as part of daily life.
More than a third are heading out to work with devices such as smart watches or fitness trackers as part of their outfit. However, it’s not necessarily hip young millennials that are driving the adoption of wearables in the workplace. The most enthusiastic users of the devices are actually their department directors and VPs.New research from LinkedIn shows that only 26% of those aged 18-24 use a wearable device on a daily basis. However, this jumps to 37% amongst those aged 25-34 and then leaps again, to 40% amongst those aged 45-54. The seniority level of those adopting wearables provides more evidence that this is a trend led by those in leadership roles. The most likely groups to use a wearable as part of daily life are directors (42%) and VPs (40%), with enthusiasm levels very similar amongst men and women. In every country in our study, at least 30% of professionals say that they use wearables on a daily basis, demonstrating how rapidly such technologies have entered the mainstream. However, there are big gaps between the most enthusiastic markets and those less convinced by the value that smart watches and fitness trackers can add. In Brazil, in particular, nearly half
of all professionals (46%) use a wearable daily. In Hong Kong, it’s 40%, and adoption levels are
also significantly higher than average in The Netherlands and the UAE. In the UK and US meanwhile, only 31% of professionals are using wearables regularly.

Future Visions: Predictions to Guide and Time Tech Innovation, Peter Udo DiehlPeter Udo Diehl
I'm excited to share my latest predictions on how AI, robotics, and other technological advancements will reshape industries in the coming years. The slides explore the exponential growth of computational power, the future of AI and robotics, and their profound impact on various sectors.
Why this matters:
The success of new products and investments hinges on precise timing and foresight into emerging categories. This deck equips founders, VCs, and industry leaders with insights to align future products with upcoming tech developments. These insights enhance the ability to forecast industry trends, improve market timing, and predict competitor actions.
Highlights:
▪ Exponential Growth in Compute: How $1000 will soon buy the computational power of a human brain
▪ Scaling of AI Models: The journey towards beyond human-scale models and intelligent edge computing
▪ Transformative Technologies: From advanced robotics and brain interfaces to automated healthcare and beyond
▪ Future of Work: How automation will redefine jobs and economic structures by 2040
With so many predictions presented here, some will inevitably be wrong or mistimed, especially with potential external disruptions. For instance, a conflict in Taiwan could severely impact global semiconductor production, affecting compute costs and related advancements. Nonetheless, these slides are intended to guide intuition on future technological trends.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Overview & Methodology
A world of insights can be gathered from LinkedIn’s 259 million members - the world’s largest professional network.
Talent pools are defined by member skillsets, based on the skills and keywords listed in a member’s profile. Skillsets
group similar and related skills that are critical to a certain profession or industry. Within each skillset, LinkedIn
Recruiter activity and member characteristics are used to determine supply and demand for talent. A higher demand
index means that the average professional in a region is interacting with recruiters more frequently than peers in other
regions. Job consideration data comes from the LinkedIn talent drivers survey of over 100,000 members.
Why Skill Sets Matter
Over 70% of LinkedIn members say that the skillsets they possess are an important part of their professional identity.
Skillsets – more than job titles and functions – tell the story of the value professionals bring and the breadth of their
experience. LinkedIn members have tens of thousands of skills on their profiles, covering a range of professional
expertise from Microsoft Office to Rocket Science. Analyzing skillsets helps to learn: what specific groups of
professionals look for in a job, what universities they attended, and what industries they work in, to effectively find and
attract top talent within those groups.
