  • Becoming a world much more dependent upon mobile
"it's your alter ego - it's fundamental to everything you do."

  • 6.8 billion population of planet
average replacement systole is 17 months
For young employed adults in Japan the replacement cycle is 6 months.
the American market has evolved a lot last year with the iPhone, but the rest of the world did not sit still, and thus the USA is probably 4 years behind the mainstream Industrialized World and 6 years behind the leading countries.

  • comScore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today released a study of touchscreen  mobile phone adoption in the U.S., which showed a significant 159-percent growth rate during the past year to 23.8 million users in August 2009. The growth in touchscreen device adoption substantially outpaced the already strong 63-percent growth in U.S. adoption of smartphones.

Petr k.-designed MID can be folded into a device as small as the size of a standard cellphone, yet running all the applications, thanks to the screen placed on the exterior of the device.
  • The meat of the phone is organized around a set of hubs: People, Pictures, Games, Music + Video, Marketplace, and Office.
The OEMs that Microsoft's announcing they're working with at launch are: Qualcomm, LG, Samsung, Garmin Asus, HTC, HP, Dell, Sony Ericsson, and Toshiba.
