2. To establish the target audience was a task that had to be
completed with the artist. Discussions about who the audience
were was kind of founding from an original concept, of not
being picky about who the music is for, but what the music is
about, represents, and how people with the same, similar or
different thoughts could be involved in the process of creating
sound and music with goal, and opportunities to make real
differences.
In that, creating a video and ideas based on children, adults and
elders was necessary to be able to appeal to everyone. Another
important factor that, as the song talks about an issue, it must
show two sides to the case, and not be biased as to provoke
discussion, and not create a 'cult' or group of people - it was
clearly stated that this was not the aim.
3. As a result of this, the branding, be it
the video itself, the digi-pak or the
website would need to be
understandable in terms of
navigation, information along with
being open minded giving the ability
for people to 'decide' their thoughts
on the band motives and join in
discussion, which solely is what
happens after songs at Jess and the
Animated Earth's concerts.
4. Making the audience part of the band is a bold and
emphasised part of the act. In order to continue
this and enforce this on my packages, it had to be
clear that this wasn't a band, performing for an
audience, but more of an invitation to come and
'join' the band for an evening of song, music and
discussion.
My ability to film at 4 different live shows, and
the opportunity I had to perform with them a
while back gave me a head start in
understanding the audience on a personal level.
Seeing the reactions of the people/audience
fulfilled many of my primary investigations, as
seeing them first hand was much like being part
of them, where we all shared similar thoughts
and discussed them, leading me to believe that
I was even a consumer of their music!
5. Well, in actual fact, discussions to continue, and also change the production are
to go ahead after my exams are finished, as also explained Evaluation Question
1, the client and I are going to work and deepening the meanings and semiotics
(signs) along with extra imagery after my examinations. This will give us no time
restriction and we will be able to create a version 2 of the release, which will be
even more suitable to her intended audience Apart form small discussions about
her audiences, I have had to judge on my part, what it is that she is trying to
convey and to who.
However, some particular self analysis of my work has highlighted that I need to
be careful not to drag out shots, and include some quicker cutting in places.
