2. As part of our research, planning and
construction of our media product we have
used a range of types of technologies,
such as:
- The Haverstock Media Blog
-Final Cut Pro
-Garageband
-Motion
-Camera
3. During the research and planning stage of
our media product, my group and I used a
blog (Haverstockmedia), in order to upload
our coursework on to. I found it useful as
between me and my group we could share
our ideas. The blog also allows you to
embed videos on such as YouTube videos
or Slideshares. As well as being able to
upload pictures onto our blog.
4. From constructing this product, we have learnt a lot of
new skills to do with technologies. Some were quite
simple, like holding a camera upright when you want a
still shot; using a tripod for when you are tracking a
character. We used a tripod when moving the camera
when doing a pan shot, because it’s easier and will
hold the camera straight instead of being shaky .When
we filmed the conversations on the phone scenes is
when our skills in camera control really came into
effect, this is because we had to use our hands to hold
the camera to create a more realistic look, which was
quite difficult. We also used a lot of imac software’s like
motion and final cut pro.
5.
We used motion for our titles effects. It
adds to realistic atmosphere in the film. We
did not use any effects that are sparkling or
explosive because that would not convey
the genre of our film; hence it would look
out of place in our film opening.
6. Final cut pro was also software we used. This is the main
software we used to create, edit, modify and improve our
product. I have done GCSE media so I knew a few basic tools
like the cutting tool and fade tool. The genre of the film
opening was social realism; so we had to make sure that we
kept with the conventions of the genre. Normally associated
with social realism films are short cuts and over running
scenes, different multiple shots and little effects. I think my
group’s product achieved this well because; we had shorts
cuts and long over running scenes and minimal effects. We
also created a few match on action scenes, we used this to
shorten the scene and gives a sense that the audience is
invading the character’s life.
