The secret of his success is hidden in using the
Fundamental Concepts (FC) and model of EFQM
4. 1. Orientation towards the results:
Excellence means to achieve results which delight all
stakeholders in and out of Santa's workshop.
This is the mission of the whole team in the organisation of
Santa and their partners:
• midgets
• deers
• Santa n his wife
• partners which he works with
5. 1. Orientation towards results:
• The most important result of the activities of the
organisation is many smiles, happiness and joy of all people
on the planet Earth.
6. 1. Orientation towards results:
Christmas magic brings satisfaction of all interested parties:
• town has become perfect with its beauty and luminance.
• people believed – there are no impossible things on this world.
• kids have received their gifts
• Santa and his team are happy with the results
7. 2. Focus towards the customer:
• In the philosophy of Santa's organisation kids and adults
are gods
• They are the most important interested party from his
workshop's activity
• Understanding this point is crucial for his survival in the
environment of cruel competition with Father Frost. In
his fight for loyal and good children who write him from
ages he increases the value added for them all the time
which gives him the title of indisputable leader among all
benefactors.
8. 2. Focus towards the customer:
То make communication with him the easiest, Santa offers fast
and easy ways to accept the wish letters:
• Snail mail
• Email
• SMS and MMS
• WebSite
• Call Center
Santa has implemented systems to measure the "obedience" to
his clients and he looked first to fulfill the wishes of the loyal
customers.
9. 2. Focus towards the customer:
• Santa goes one level up by making a strategic partnership with
NORAD (The North American Aerospace Defence Command –
http://norad.mil/ ) so that people can follow the status of their
request. This way children and adults can follow Santa's location
anytime.
10. 3. Leadership and sustainability of intentions
• Excellence is inspiring leadership. Who is a bigger
leader than Santa? He has clear vision and
sustainability of his intentions – namely to make
happy all the children in the world.
11. 3. Leadership and sustainability
of intentions
Qualities of the white bearded grandpa:
• integrity – always keeps his promises and never misses a loyal
client;
• people oriented – created a
nonprofit organisation as one of
the important ideals is happiness,
smiles and world peace;
• role model - millions of
people try to look like him and
organise parties , marathons and
gatherings in his honour.
12. 4. Management through processes and facts:
• Excellence is managing of organization through a number of
interdependent and interconnected systems, processes and
facts.
• Santa's organization is no exception. He has a fixed time frame
in which he is supposed to perform all processes in creating
and giving away the gifts.
13. 4. Management through processes and facts:
• Number of clients is growing constantly which requires his
organisation to work as a system. Each process is to be
optimized and all employees to interact and cooperate with each
other.
14. 5. Development and involvement of people:
Excellence is to maximize the contribution of employees through their
development and involvement in participation. All employees are
involved:
Midgets have to:
• pack the gifts
• deliver samples to the factory
• They are also responsible for
the well-being of the deers.
Going around the world stopping
at each roof is not an easy task and shouldn't be underestimated.
15. 5. Development and involvement of people:
• White-bearded old man as a manager makes sure everyone is
stimulated and motivated so they performing their tasks they feel
useful and happy.
• That is why the motivational program of the midgets is a new
generation one. They love to drink hot chocolate and eat the tasty
Christmas cakes of Grandma Christmas. This motivates them to
work well. Moreover right after Christmas they go together to the
Hawaii to rest. They use SPA procedures and anti-stress therapies.
16. 5. Development and involvement of people:
Grandma Christmas is also involved in the whole process:
• she decorates the house
• takes care of Santa's home and for the midgets and for the
Santa himself so that they can focus on the production and
deliveries.
Grandma Christmas' motivations are:
• better clothes and accessories
• makeup's and creams
• changing the
furniture
• kitchen
renovations
17. 5. Development and involvement of people:
• Midgets go through special training programs. The ones
working in the workshop are constantly training their
fingers and minds through specially designed exercises
for agility. Popular Shaolin-masters arrive at the north
pole and train midgets each month.
18. 5. Development and involvement of people:
• Santa and the deers go through specially designed training
programmes of NASA. The goal is to train sustainability in
great speeds, overcoming the gravity and training take-off
and landing skills, as well as development of senses to be
ready for any situation.
19. 5. Development and involvement of people:
• IT midgets attend courses where they exchange experience
with some colleagues of yours from around the world and
learn from the best
developers in the world.
20. 5. Development and involvement of people:
• Grandma Christmas enriches her knowledge by visiting
different culinary lessons to be able to cook more healthy
and delicious foods for Santa and the midgets. Moreover
she graduates her 5-year course in yumeiho-massage and
anti-stress therapies so she can help employees to recreate
quickly after the busy months.
21. 6. Constant learning, innovations and
improvements:
• Since recently there is an IT department. Analytical midgets who
are better with the keyboard than in the factory are working there.
• They create and support a Christmas website and mobile
applications through which the good kids can observe some of the
above mentioned processes and write emails and chat online with
Santa.
22. 6. Constant learning, innovations
and improvements:
• Along with the usual duties, grandma Christmas took a
course in QA and specialized in testing the new software
before it's release. Everything happens because Santa
had made sure to provision high-speed internet at the
North pole.
23. 6. Continuous learning, innovations
and improvements:
• The slay has already an incredible engine working on the principle
of quantum tunneling, so Santa and the deers can travel in a
moment.
• Each moment they can be at several places on Earth at the same
time.
Which explains how he manages
to go around the globe and give
the presents to the children in a
single night.
24. 6. Continuous learning, innovations
and improvements:
• In villages and towns he uses the traditional moving model –
deers in a sky gallop, so he can please the inhabitants.
Midgets have installed a GPS navigation for easier
orientation.
25. 7. Development and partnership:
Excellence is development and maintenance of partnership which adds
value. It is the case with Santa and his partners.
• Partnership with the deers:
They provide transport and
movement around the world on
time. No matter of the weather
conditions they rush through the
sky. Doesn't matter if there is a
massive snowing and can't see a
thing or the fog is covering every
house. The deers always find the way.
Who wouldn't want such a partner?
26. 7. Development and partnership:
Partnership with the midgets:
Midgets are among the most important partners of Santa. They:
• build the toys in such a short deadlines that all toy-makers in the
world would envy them.
• work effectively and efficiently by not only achieving the goal of
their workshop – toys ready on time, but also quality of the toys,
so the kids can enjoy them longer.
• with little resources they accomplish great results.
• midgets take care for the deers – feed them , and make sure
their physical condition is good.
27. 7. Development and partnership:
• Partnership with the chimney sweepers:
A chimney sweeper believes,
knows and wants the kids to receive
their presents on time, so he swaps
the chimneys well, so that Santa
can go fast and not be obstructed by
the soot.
28. 7. Development and partnership:
• Partnership with Grandma Christmas:
Grandma Christmas takes care of Santa always. Everyone knows
very well that next to every successful man there is a woman who
supports him all the time – in good and bad times in difficult and
happy moments.
Grandma Christmas is just like
that – she loves Santa as he is
even in his most tensioned days
– the days before Christmas
she stays late night and makes
him hot chocolate, covers him
with a blanket when he is asleep
over the heaps of letters.
29. 7. Development and partnership:
• Partnership with NORAD: Santa and his organisation signed
a contract with NORAD, so he not only secures his defence
while traveling in the sky but also all expecting gifts can
follow which part of the world he is at.
30. 8. Social responsibility:
• Santa uses Eco transport: deers and not a plane. Deers move with
natural products – hay, grass, barley, which makes their
maintenance exclusively consistent with the natural way of living.
Moreover instead of exhaust gases deers make bio fertilizers which
Santa is using in his garden for growing the vegetables and other
plants. The rest is used in the oven of the workshop as an energy
source. Thus Santa and his organization saves on expenses for wood
and coil which he puts in the production of toys.
31. 8. Social responsibility:
• Green initiatives are not over with that. It is planned that in 5 years
95% of the used materials for producing the toys to be natural. The
plan for sustained development includes windmills which will supply
electricity to the workshop. They are a good solution because there
are constant winds in the North Pole so electricity will be made 24
hours a day. This energy supplies the whole organization of Santa and
has even excess and he supplies electricity to the neighbouring
villages. Moreover the workshop uses electricity-saving light bulbs.
32. 8. Social responsibility:
• All of Santa's employees have organized to plant trees. The
plan is that each employee plants 30 plants each month.
Thus in one year one employee plants 360 trees. For one
century the trees become 36000.
33. 8. Social responsibility:
• Cause and message for peace and love. During Christmas
everyone is becoming concerned about the homeless children,
children without parents, elderes and people needing special
medical attention. The Christmas holiday itself and Santa's
organization brings messages for peace, love and happiness. In
this moment the hearts of all people open like with a magic
wand and everyone becomes more happy, smiling and
compassionate.
34. 9. Organizational excellence:
• Organisational excellence can be achieved in each company's
structure. The most important is to achieve the organisational
excellence inside ourselves.
Lets be:
• more compassionate
• better
• more loving and
• more happy
not only during Christmas!
