2. Process
• Deciding the project I wanted to do.
• Making a plan to be able to accomplish my
goal with limited mobility.
• Setting goals to get the project accomplished.
• Getting my own children to help.
• Collecting donations.
• Donating the Christmas bags.
3. Mission Statement
• My mission was to make sure that all the
children in the local head start program
would be getting some gifts for Christmas.
Since my daughter volunteers at the program
during her learning lab time , she gave me
insight that most of the children there
needed something like this.
4. The first step was a bottle drive from
the local neighbors!
5. The second step
Discussing with my children what our holiday
budget was going to be.
Allowing them to decide how much they
were willing to give up.
Deciding to take $100.00 to use towards toys
for the head start children.
6. Best time to shop?
• We wanted to be able to get as many toys as
we could with the money we had.
• Start by looking through stores for toys that
was on clearance.
• Decided on Black Friday shopping!
• Decided if any money left to finish up on
Cyber Monday.
8. Shopping Time
• We got my daughters friends to help.
• Split up the lists so everyone would go to a
certain area in hopes to get what we want.
• With 25 children being in the program we
wanted to make sure to get all them and
decided to get something for their siblings as
well. With a limited budget we knew this
wasn’t going to be easy.
13. A little goes a long ways
• In doing this project I have helped 25 head
start children plus their siblings. Just
knowing the children will have a smile on
Christmas Day is enough of a reward. I
thank my children and their friends for the
time they helped and standing in the cold
weather to shop! We are all ready thinking
of more ideas to be able to give more next
year.
14. All gifts will be brought to the
school and parents will be
picking them up before
Christmas.
