• describe ages and language level
They are university students who are studying their first semester of law . They are in average 17 years old. Most of them
have studied English in their high school and just two have not studied English in high school.

This group shows an average level of A1.2. Most of them a high level of proficiency for the level and just two are
behind. This is their last class of the day, so they are tired, sleepy and with rush to go home early.

Student will solve a hot potato crossword puzzle in
pairs. They can use online dictionaries(
www.thefreedictionary), google in order to solve
the crossword.

Students will do the exercises from the book, where
they have to match the pictures with the rooms of
the home. Then, they will talk which things they can
do in these rooms and then the landscapes they can
observe from their rooms or homes.

Students will make a wiki in which they describe
which landscapes they can see in Colombia. They
are going to be distributed by areas,north,east,
west, south.

Students will make a voki describing their homes
with their rooms and the landscapes. Then, they
will post their vokis in a forum and will comment
each other’s voki.

  • 2. Rationale Profile of learners: • describe ages and language level They are university students who are studying their first semester of law . They are in average 17 years old. Most of them have studied English in their high school and just two have not studied English in high school. • outline linguistic and affective needs - • This group shows an average level of A1.2. Most of them a high level of proficiency for the level and just two are behind. This is their last class of the day, so they are tired, sleepy and with rush to go home early. explain how learners’ needs relate to aims of the lesson -Describing their homes’ rooms will relax them and make them see that they are using the language to communicate something real. Anticipated problems Planned solutions Students will confuse bathroom and bedroom Teacher will use flashcards to show the difference. Students do not know some vocabulary of landscape. Students will find the words through their mobiles.

  • 4. Stage Aim Procedure Teacher and student activity Time and interaction Warm-up Students will be introduced the key vocabulary Student will solve a hot potato crossword puzzle in pairs. They can use online dictionaries( www.thefreedictionary), google in order to solve the crossword. 15 minutes S-S Controlled practice Students will reinforce the key vocabulary Students will do the exercises from the book, where they have to match the pictures with the rooms of the home. Then, they will talk which things they can do in these rooms and then the landscapes they can observe from their rooms or homes. 10 minutes S-S Collaborati ve practice Students will reinforce the vocabulary of landscapes Students will make a wiki in which they describe which landscapes they can see in Colombia. They are going to be distributed by areas,north,east, west, south. 20 minutes S-S Practice Students will speak using the vocabulary involved Students will make a voki describing their homes with their rooms and the landscapes. Then, they will post their vokis in a forum and will comment each other’s voki. 30 minutes S-S Wrap up Students will be assesed Students will take a short quiz on moodle in which they are asked the vocabulary learned in the class.
