ā€˜Sell N Tellā€™ Case Study
C r e a t i v e P a r t n e r s - M o b i l a r t S o l u t i o n s
Introduction
With more than 1 lakh ads uploaded everyday and over 40 million+ positive
feedbacks, we want to highlight successful product transactions on OLX.
OLX .IN wanted to highlight successful product transactions on OLX and create
positive word of mouth about the platform among existing and prospective users.
But more than the usual buying and selling, we wanted to connect with the user at
an emotional level and come across as a platform where a sellerā€™s and a buyerā€™s
wish came true.
Objective
An innovative Facebook Participation app, user stories converted into creative
customized bit-stories, fanimation films, a crazy comic group and an aggressive
Promotion strategy is what OLX #SellnTell contest was all about!
Execution Plan
Before the beginning of the campaign, we built up excitement with a series of
teasers. We developed a series of 6 prelaunch promos, promoted on
facebook.com/olxindia. These films were made with the view of an average olx
userā€™s experience in mind. The intent was to present identifiable stories that the
users could see as an example and be encouraged to participate.
Finally we launched the app. The contest was launched with an announcement by the
hilarious trio of Comics from East India Comedy!The contest received an overwhelming
response with over 200 story submissions on the first day itself .
All the entries were then given a story book feel with our Bitstrips, we called it
#BitStories! Each story that went up had an unique code, which made it easier
for our users to share their stories among his/her friends
Regular posting , talking about #SellNTell focused to increase the reach of the
campaign.
The most interesting stories where showcased with what we call Fan-imation!
We brought on board Indiaā€™s premier comedy group ā€“ EAST INDIA COMEDY, to
celebrate the amazing stories being told to us and to also help dispel certain pre
conceived notions Indian users have about OLX and online businesses.
We announced daily Bumper prize winners, movie voucher winners and by the end of
the campaign we had our 3 Mega Bumper prize winners, which were declared via a special
video by East India Comedyā€™s Team(iPad , iPhone5s and Designer Armani watch)
Result
ā€¢ The campaign drew a lot of attention over the social media sites.
ā€¢ Over 1000 users shared their stories with us, of which 730 entries had their
#BitStories version up for voting
ā€¢ We had a total of 11,410 votes during the campaign

OLX 'Sell & Tell' Campaign Managed To Got Over 1000 Customers Share Their Experience

  • 2. Introduction With more than 1 lakh ads uploaded everyday and over 40 million+ positive feedbacks, we want to highlight successful product transactions on OLX. OLX .IN wanted to highlight successful product transactions on OLX and create positive word of mouth about the platform among existing and prospective users. But more than the usual buying and selling, we wanted to connect with the user at an emotional level and come across as a platform where a sellerā€™s and a buyerā€™s wish came true. Objective
  • 3. An innovative Facebook Participation app, user stories converted into creative customized bit-stories, fanimation films, a crazy comic group and an aggressive Promotion strategy is what OLX #SellnTell contest was all about! Execution Plan
  • 4. Before the beginning of the campaign, we built up excitement with a series of teasers. We developed a series of 6 prelaunch promos, promoted on facebook.com/olxindia. These films were made with the view of an average olx userā€™s experience in mind. The intent was to present identifiable stories that the users could see as an example and be encouraged to participate.
  • 5. Finally we launched the app. The contest was launched with an announcement by the hilarious trio of Comics from East India Comedy!The contest received an overwhelming response with over 200 story submissions on the first day itself .
  • 6. All the entries were then given a story book feel with our Bitstrips, we called it #BitStories! Each story that went up had an unique code, which made it easier for our users to share their stories among his/her friends
  • 7. Regular posting , talking about #SellNTell focused to increase the reach of the campaign.
  • 8. The most interesting stories where showcased with what we call Fan-imation!
  • 9. We brought on board Indiaā€™s premier comedy group ā€“ EAST INDIA COMEDY, to celebrate the amazing stories being told to us and to also help dispel certain pre conceived notions Indian users have about OLX and online businesses.
  • 10. We announced daily Bumper prize winners, movie voucher winners and by the end of the campaign we had our 3 Mega Bumper prize winners, which were declared via a special video by East India Comedyā€™s Team(iPad , iPhone5s and Designer Armani watch)
  • 11. Result ā€¢ The campaign drew a lot of attention over the social media sites. ā€¢ Over 1000 users shared their stories with us, of which 730 entries had their #BitStories version up for voting ā€¢ We had a total of 11,410 votes during the campaign
