2. Objective
To ensure that the research products of CRP Livestock &
Fish are being widely used to facilitate the transformation
of the Tanzania smallholder dairy value chain and are
benefiting poor men and women smallholder producers
and poor consumers.
3. Objective
1. CRP researchers are more responsive to VCT-T demands in terms of cultural
sensitivities and appropriateness, research issues and resource constraints"
2. Processes for research for development (R4D) for VCT-T are captured,
described and used"
3. Customized and contextualized strategies and protocols for value chain
transformation and scaling are widely used"
4. Adaptive capacity of the VC innovation platforms demonstrated through
strengthened capacities of VC actors"
5. Development partnerships are effective"
6. CRP interventions are available and attractive and non-CRP stakeholders
are investing in and catalyzing scaling up of integrated innovations. "
4. Activity Clusters
• Cluster 5.1 Piloting and validating best-bet interventions
– Assess, test, adapt and assist the refinement of integrated
packages that are expected to foster value chain transformation
• Cluster 5.2 Implementation of innovations at scale
– Promote validated interventions of CRP Livestock & Fish and
generate and satisfy the resulting (substantial) demand for them
• Cluster 5.3 Value chain transformation learning
– Monitor and assess intervention impacts, capture lessons of
transformational processes, provide feedback to adjust
technology platform research agendas, and nurture inter-
disciplinarity for scaling
5. Product Lines
