In what ways does your media product
use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products? (I.e.
         of music magazines)
• Firstly my magazine uses many general ideas and
additions that a usual magazine would such as :
Barcode:
• This is to make the magazine look more authentic
  and appealing.
Many different images of the band:
• This is to make the magazine have one general
theme throughout which will help tie the magazine
  together.
Interview:
• To give the readers something interesting to read.
Colour scheme:
• To make it more visually appealing:
And mast font:
• To make the magazine have a one thing that makes
it unique and stand out from other magazines.
• All of these different conventions are available in
real magazines and this is why I have chose to
include them in my own magazine so that it had a
more authentic feel and also looks like a real
magazine, it has also been more fun designing a
magazine with the task of making it look realistic in
  mind.
2. How does your media product represent
         particular social groups?
• My product represents certain social groups by the mis-en scene which is used the
clothes and style of the girls; this represents the style of their band and the image
they are trying to put across with their band. It also shows what they are like which
  then reflects certain social groups.

The girls style. The style of social groups we were
                                                   trying to perceive.
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media
                     product and why?
• I would sell my product in large branded super
  markets like Asda’s, Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s and some
newsagents. This would be so that my magazine
would be more accessible for parents and their
children, and then it would then be made cheaper
as it is it will be sold in places which magazines
should be cheap so that more people can buy them.
Who would be the audience for your media
               product?
• My main audience young female audience mainly, this
is because of the contents of the magazine are planned
to be things that would usually be seen in
teenage/children female magazines, when making my
flat plan I looked in to magazines like ‘Girl Talk’ for
example, this was so that I could make sure my
magazine linked in with what was already seen and
understood to be used in the young female genre of
magazines. After that I then linked it to music, this is
why females mainly aged 8 – 15 are the audience for
  my product.
5. How did you attract/address your
                  audience?
• To attract my audience, I used mainy things, starting with the
simplest like the colour scheme and mast head front, these
are both very girly when it comes to the colour so this would
mean my magazine is already visually interesting mainly for
females. After that I used both my models as females, this
gave my magazine a more feministic view to it and would
make it more appealing for young girls as they have people to
aspire and admire to in my magazine. Lastly my contents of
the magazine and way I typed up my interview were very
gossip like and chatty this also would make it more attractive
for young girls and I feel they would enjoy reading the things I
  included.
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the
        process of constructing this product?

• I have learnt a lot about many new technologies that I did not know
before since making my music magazine, one of these is the use
of blogger. Before starting AS media I did not know there was such
thing as blogger let alone how to use it, know I am fully able to use
blogger and have used it to make two blogs and it is actually rather
simple to understand. Another device I have used since making
my music magazine is InDesign. Before making my magazine this
application would be something that simply sat in my programs not
being used now I have used it to make two of my own magazines
and I understand it fully, I feel this was the best programme to use
when making a magazine as it gave it a professional look and feel
and made my understanding of the task a lot more detailed as
people in real magazine places use programmes just like this.
7. Looking back at your preliminary task (the school
magazine), what do you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to full product?
• When I was making the school magazine I managed my time well, but I did not
however do all the possible tasks I only completed the compulsory ones, this made
my school magazine good but not up to the best standard it could be. With my
music magazine I have attempted and I think succeeded to do every single task
that I have been set, I feel this has made the planning of my music magazine a lot
more detailed and interesting. In my school magazine I kept forgetting my password
to my blog and this caused many problems with my work this time around I have
made sure to stay more organised and looked after my password in a safe place.
Lastly my music magazine is a lot more together than my school magazine
especially in the theme. From my finished product I think my music magazine is
better as it has a proper colour scheme throughout and use of different models
wearing proper costumes I feel this helped give my music magazine a more
professional look, and helped it be more successful. If I did not plan as well as I had
with my music magazine I do not think it would have became this detailed and full
as I would not have known what to put on it, I feel my final product and my over all
blog was successful and a lot better compared to my school magazine as I used
my time better and planned in to a lot more aspects than I did before.
