“GIVE IT, GAIN IT, DON’T DEMAND IT”
Have you ever been in a situation that everything you do will be judge? Do
you feel respected when people judge your action without knowing your real
reason and the real you? When you learn to respect yourself, you will earn respect
from others. It is something that you willingly to give to people without hesitation.
Respecting someone means listening and accepting their different point of view in
life.
Respect starts from how you respect yourself. Respecting yourself means
giving and defining your own worth and value as a person or human being. If you
do not respect yourself, it will be hard for you to respect anyone else. The question
is how? First you need to be honest to yourself so you can apply it to others.
Second you should learn to listen and accept others opinion. Third you should
know your limitation; you know whether you are right or wrong. Last know your
worth as a person, because when you learn how much you’re worth, you’ll stop
giving people discount. You should know to respect yourself to gain respect to
others.
Respecting others opinion. If you observed, everyone judges your opinion
because you’re against to them. Judging others become our daily habit and natural
behavior. Example, when there are new ideal arises, some of us reacted negatively
and some of us accept that idea. Those who accept the idea will be judge by those
people that against to that idea. That is when the lack of respect comes in. When
2. disagreement comes in the way of two people, they lose their respect to each other.
When two different ideas collide, two people fight and misunderstand each other
and then respect lost totally. You should learn to listen and accept others opinion
so the person will give it back to you without hesitation.
Respect is not to be demanded nor begged, it should be earned and offered.
Just like trust and love respect must be earned rather than demand. Everyone has
the right to think and to decide from themselves. You can’t force someone to
respect you, but you can prove to them that you are worth it to be respected. There
are events in our lives that we make mistakes that causes to lose our self-respect
that become others disrespect us. We don’t need to begged just to respect us. We
need to do is, to give ourselves a chance to change to be a better person and also
to earn again respect not from the others but from yourself. Mistakes doesn’t define
who you are, it defines of how brave you are to overcome it. You should learn to
know who deserved respect, not because they demand, just because they worth
it.
Therefore, I conclude that respect is not to be demanded nor begged but to
be earned, earned with the use of attitude, personality and discipline. if you,
yourself can’t respect others so you shouldn’t expect others to respect you. Let us
offer each other the respect we all deserved. As a human being, that’s the very
least that you can give to someone without expecting to give it back to you.
Respect is a two-way street, if you want to get it, you’ve got to give it.
