• Winterval is a Christmas Festival based in Waterford City which runs from November
31st December 2013.
• Winterval is Irelands only Nordic style themed Christmas festival and boasts an 86%
satisfaction rating *
• Winterval utilises the medieval streetscape of Waterford with viking, medieval and
other heritage buildings to provide a family and cultural Christmas experience.
• The theme of the festival is the magic of Christmas for children of all ages with a
strong emphasis on excellent engaging free activities.
• Over 250,000 attendance during Christmas period 2012 with a bias to young families and children
• Winterval offers both a social and cultural dimension with use of some of the oldest buildings in
the state - Reginald’s Tower, Greyfriar’s Church
• Winterval hosted over 60 retail cabins providing crafts, christmas novelties and food and sweet
offerings
• Winterval’s activities are located around Ireland’s original Viking settlement, referred to as the
