What makes
                     Carnival
•   The Procession: 688 people took part in
    the Procession in 2011, including 14 local
    schools and community groups, who
    created costumes with the help of
    professional artists

•   Performances: Musicians, dancers, street
    performers, sound systems and a wide
    range of activities bring Carnival to life

•   Community showcase: Charities and not-
    for-profits engage with the public and enlist
    their support

•   Traders: Global food & drink, ethical
    retailers, local start-ups and more have
    stalls
Carnival 2013
•   Carnival plans for 2013 include:
    •   pre Carnival creative workshops with schools and community groups

    •   collaboration with a wide range of arts, community, educational,
        disability and faith groups and businesses to encourage participation
        in Carnival

    •   offering employment, volunteering and skills development
        opportunities

    •   producing Cowley Road Carnival on Cowley Road and surrounding
        venues and open spaces in July 2013
