2. Coldplay – Mylo Xyloto
Coldplay have used the same colours and ideas
throughout the album cover, video and advert.
This is effective as it links all three things together
which would attract an audience as they would
recognise the themes throughout the album and
video. This would make people more likely to buy
the album.
The idea of graffiti and the same font is used
throughout. Also colour is key to the brand identity
as even the colours of his costume in the video link
to the colours used on the album.
Overall the album is popular and recognisable
through the same trend and ideas used throughout
the whole releasing of the album.
3. Rihanna - Loud
Rihanna has also kept a similar trend running through
her album and video.
The colour of red and pink is used throughout all
aspects of the album. This would help an audience as
they would recognise the colour and instantly think
of the album ‘loud’ the colour also links with the
album title as it is a very vibrant and loud colour.
This would make the product more likely to sell as
the colours make it stand out.
The use of Rihanna’s red hair and red lipstick
throughout would also add to the overall effect of
the album and again make it more recognisable from
an audience point of view.
4. Coldplay – A Head Full Of Dreams
Coldplay have again used the same colour scheme
throughout the website and album cover. This
would attract people to buy the album and then
want to go to their tour.
The video however doesn’t directly link with the
album. I think Coldplay have tried to put through
the idea of jungles and the wild. This links in both
the video through the use of monkeys and the
album as it features many wildlife things.
This is effective as it is a subtle brand identity
but still engages an audience and makes the
album more likely to sell.
