1. DUA MASHLOOL IMAM ALI (AS) AND IMAM HUSSEIN (AS) WERE ON THEIR WAY TO THE HOLY KAABA TO PERFORM TAWAF WHEN THEY NOTICED A MAN WHO WAS CRYING PROFUSELY FOR REPENTANCE. ON INQUIRING HE TOLD THE BLESSED IMAMS THAT HE WAS A HABITUAL SINNER WHO CONSTANTLY INSULTED & BEAT UP HIS FATHER . ONE DAY HIS FATHER CURSED HIM AND HE BECAME PARALYZED. THE MAN BEGGED WITH HIS FATHER FOR FORGIVENESS

2. DUA MASHLOOL .THE FATHER AGREED TO PRAY TO ALLAH (SWT )TO REVERSE THE CURSE. THE FATHER AND HIS SON SET OUT TOWARDS THE HOLY CITY TO ASK FOR REPENTANCE BUT THE FATHER DIED ON THE WAY ON HEARING THIS SAD TALE,IMAM ALI (AS) IMMEDIATELY WROTE THIS DUA AND ASKED THE MAN TO RECITE IT AFTER ISHA SALAAT THE NEXT DAY THE MAN CAME TO IMAM ALI(AS) FULLY CURED

3. HE SAID HE RECITED THE DUA AS INSTRUCTED. THAT SAME NIGHT HE SAW THE HOLY PROPHET (SAWW) IN HIS DREAM, GENTLY TOUCHED HIS PARALYSED BODY . WHEN HE WOKE UP HE WAS CURED. IMA M HUSSEIN SAID THIS DUA CONTAINS ISME –AZAM, THE GREATEST NAME OF ALLAH (SWT) DUA MASHLOOL

9. yaah'ayyoyaaqayyoom O Living; O Self-Subsisting,

10. yaa h'ayyo Laa ilaaha illa anta O ever living, there is no God but you

11. yaa huwa yaa mal-laa ya'lamo maa huwa walaakaifahuwa of whom no one knows what "He" is, nor how "He" is,

12. walaaainahuwawalaah'aithohuwaillahuwa Nor how "He" is, nor where "He" is, except "He.

13. yaad'almulkewalmalaakoot O Lord of the Great Kingdom and Supremacy.

114. yaaraah‘imala'baraat O he who has mercy on our tears

115. O he who annuls errors yaamuqeelala'tharaat

116. yaakaashifalkurubaat O he who removes troubles

117. O he who is the Cherisher of good deeds yaawaleeyalh'asanaat

118. Yaarafia’ Darajaat O he who raises men in rank and degree

119. O he who agrees to requests; yaamutiyassulaat

120. yaamuh'yiyalamwaati O he that brings the dead to life

121. O he that gathers together that which is scattered. yaajaamiashshataat

122. yaamut'aliana'lanniyaate O he that is informed of all intentions

123. yaaraaddamaaqadfaat O he that restores that which has been lost

136. O he who is more munificent than the most munificent yaaajwadalajwadeena

137. yaaakramalakrameen O he who is more generous than the most generous

138. O most hearing of the hearers; yaaasma-a'ssaamee'en

139. YaaAb’saranNaazireen O seeing than the most perceiving

140. O protector of those seeking protection yaajaaralmustajeereena

141. yaaamaanalkhaifeen O sanctuary of the fearful

142. O Asylum of the Refugees yaaz'ahrallaajeena

143. yaawaliy-yalmumineen O sponsor of the believers

144. O helper of those that seek help. yaaghiayaathalmustaghitheen

145. yaaghaayatatt'aa-libeen O goal of the seekers

146. yaas'aah'ebakullighareebO Companion of every stranger

147. yaamunisakulliwah'eed O friend of the lonely ones

148. yaamalja-a kullit'areedO refuge for every outcast

149. yaa ma-waakulleshareed O shelter for every wanderer

150. O Guardian of all those who stray yaah'aafez'akullez"aaallat

151. yaaraah‘imashshaykhilkabeer O he who is merciful to the old

152. O he who nourishes the little infants yaaraazeqatt'iflis' s'a-gheer

153. yaajaaberala'z'milkaseer O he that joins together broken bones

154. O he who Releases all the prisoners yaafaakkakulleaseer

155. yaamughneyalbaaaesilfaqeer O he who enriches the miserable needy

175. O my Refuge when the journey makes me weary and my kinsfolk hand me over to my foes and all my comrades forsake me yaakahfih'eenatoe'eenilmad'aahebowatosal-lemonilaqaareboWayakhd'olonikullos'aahebin

176. O Guarantor of him who has no guarantee; yaai'maadamanllai'maadalahu

177. O Means of him who has no strength; yaasanada man laasanadalah

178. yaad'ukhra man laad'ukhralah O Refuge of him who has no refuge

179. O sanctuary of him who has no sanctuary yaah'irza man laah'irzalahu

180. yaakahfa man laakahfalahu O cave of him who has no cave

181. O treasure of him who has no treasure yaakanza man laakanzalahu

182. yaarukna man laaruknalah O pillar of him who has no pillar

183. yaagheyaatha man laagheyaathalahuO help of him who has no help

184. yaajaara man laajaaralahO neighbour of him who has no neighbour.

185. yaajaareyallas'eeq O my adjacent neighbour

186. yaarukneyalwatheeqaO my firm support

187. Yaaelaahibittah'-qeeqe O my GOD in truth

188. O lord of the Ancient House (the Ka'ba); yaarabbalbaitilateeqe

190. Fukkani min h'alaqilmaz"eeqe Liberate me from the chains that hold me back

192. Protect me from the evil that I am unable to bear, Wakfenisharramaalauteeq

193. wa a-i'nnia'laamaaut'eeq and help me in that which I am able to bear

195. O he who removed the afflictions of Job yaakaashifaz’urreayyoob

196. yaaghaafirad' d'ambidaawud O he that forgave the fault of David;

197. O he who lifted up Issa (Jesus) and saved him from the clutches of the Jews yaaraafiaissaibnemaryamwamunjihi min aydilyahud

198. O he who answered the prayer of Yunus (jonas) from the darkness yaamujeebanidaa-e yoonosafiz' z‘ulumaat

199. O he that chose Musa (Moses)by means of inspired words yaamust'afeemoosabilkalemaat

200. O Thou that forgave Adam of his slip yaa man ghafaraleadam-a khat'ee-atah

201. and raised Idris to an exalted station by his mercy warafaa'aidreesamakaanana'liyyan be rah’matih

202. O he who saved Noah from drowning yaa man najaanooh'anminalgharaq

203. O he who destroyed the former people of Ad yaa man ahlakaa'adaniloola

204. and then the people of Thamood, so that no trace of them remained, and destroyed the people of Noah before that, for verily they were the most unjust and most rebellious wathamoodafamaaabqaWaqaumanooh'in min qabloinna hum kaanoo hum az'lamawaat'ghaa

205. and overturned the ruined and deserted towns O he who destroyed the people of Lot; Wal mo-tafekateahwayaa man dam maraa'laaqaume loot

206. and annihilated the people of Sho'aib Wadamdamaa'laaqaumeshuayb

207. O he that chose Abraham as a friend yaamanittakhad'aibraheemakhaleelan

208. O he that chose Musa as one spoken unto yaamanittakhad'amoosakaleeman

209. and chose Muhammed (your blessings be upon him and his Progeny) as your Beloved Wat-takhad'amuhammad-an s'allaahoa'laihewaaalehiwaa'laihimajma'eenah'abeeba

210. yaa mo-teyaluqmaanalh'ikmah O he who gave Luqman wisdom;

211. and bestowed upon Sulaiman a kingdom the like of which shall not be merited by anyone after him Walwaahibali-sulaimaanmulkalaayambaghiliah'adi- min ba'dihi

212. O he that gave Dhulqarnain victory over the tyrant kings yaa man nas'arad'alqarnainea'lalmolookiljabaaberate

213. O he that granted unto Khizr immortality yaa man aa't'alkhiz'ralh'ayaata

214. and brought back for Yusha, the son of Nun, the sun after it had set Waradda le yooshaa' abnenoonishshamsaba'daghuroobeha

215. O he who gave solace unto the heart of Musa's mother yaa man rabat'aa'laaqalbiummiMoosa

216. and protected the chastity of Mariam, the daughter of Imran; Waah's'anafarjamaryamabnatei‘mraan

217. yaa man h'ass'anayah'yabnazakariyyaminad'amb; O he who fortified Yahya, the Son of Zakaria against sin;

218. Wasakkanaa'nmoosalghaz"aba and calmed the anger of Musa (moses)

219. O he that gave the good news of (the Birth of) Yahya unto Zakaria yaa man bashsharazakariyyabeyah'ya

220. O Thou that saved Ismael from slaughter by substituting for him the Great Sacrifice yaa man fadaaismae'elaminad' dabhebidibh'inaz'eemin

221. O he who accepted the sacrifice of Abel and placed the curse upon Cain yaa man qabilaqurbaanhaabeelaWaja'alalla'anataa'laqaabeela

222. O he who Subdued of the parties for Muhammad - the blessings of Allah be upon him and his Progeny - yaahazemalah'zaabe le muh'ammadins'allal-laahoa'laihewaaalehi

223. S'allea'laamuh'ammadinwaaalemuh'ammadinwaa'lajameei'lmursaleenWamalaaekatekalmuqarrabeenawaahlet'aa'atekaajmae'enBless Muhammad and the household of Muhammad, all the messengers and angels who have been brought close and all those who obey you

224. And I beg of you with all the requests which anyone has begged of you with whom you are pleased and unto whom you have assured the granting thereof Wa as- alokabekullemas-alatinsa-lakabehaah'adunmimmanraz"eetaa'nhoFah'atamtalahua'lalijaabah

225. O Allah, O Allah, O Allah yaaallaahoyaaallaahoyaaallaaho

226. O Most Merciful, O Most Merciful, O Most Merciful, yaa rah' maanoyaarah'maa no yaarah'maano

227. Most Beneficient, O Most Beneficient, O Most Beneficient yaarah'eemoyaarah'ee mo yaarahee mo

228. O Lord of Majesty and Grace, O Lord of Majesty and Grace, O Lord of Majesty and Grace. yaad'aljalaalewalekraameyaad'aljalaalewalekraameyaad'aljalaalewalekraame

229. Through you, Through you, Through you, Through you, Through you, Through you, Behibehibehibehibehibehi

230. I beseech you with the help of all the Names whereby you have named yourself As alokabekullisminsammaitabehinafsaka

231. or which you have sent down in any of your inspired Scriptures, or Which you have inscribed in your knowledge of the unknown, which only you know aw anzaltaho fee shayyin Min kotubekaawista-athartabehi fee i'lmilghaibe

232. and (I beseech you) in the name of the honored and exalted positions of your Throne, i'nkdakaWa-be ma-a'aqedili'zze min a'rshika

233. wa be muntaharrah'mate min kitaabikand in the name of the utmost extent of Thy Mercy as expressed in Thy Book (the Quran)

234. Wa-bema lauannamaafilarz"e min shaja-ratinaqlaamun and in the fact of that which "If all the trees on earth

235. were to become pens and all the seven seas ink, the Words of Allah could not be fully written down walbah'royamuddoho min ba'dehisab-a'toabh'orinmaanafedatkalemaa

236. Verily Allah is the Honored, the Wise tullaahe in nallaahaa'zeezunh'akeem

237. And I beseech Thee with the help of Thy Beautiful Names Wa as-aloka be asmaaekalh'usna

238. which you have described in your Book, saying,:Unto Allah belong the beautiful names allatinaa' attaha fee kitabikaFaqultawalillaahilasmaaulh'usna

239. so call Him by Them; And you have said ;”Call unto Me and I shall answer you; “ fado'ohobehaWa-qultaudo'ooniasta jib lakum

240. and you have said; “and when My servants ask something of Me, lo, I am near and I grant the prayer of the supplicant when he asks anything of Me” waqultawaid'aasa-lakai'baadia'nnifainniqareebujeebodaa'wataddaa'iid'aada'aane

241. and you have said; “O My servants who have wronged yourselves, despair not of the Mercy of Allah; verilly Allah forgives all the sins” Waqultayaai'baadeyal la d'eenaasrafua'laaanfosehimLaataqnat'u min rah' matillaaheinnallaahayaghferud' d'unoobajamee'an

242. verily He is the Forgiving, the Merciful innahuhuwalghafoorurrah'eem

243. Therefore I ask you, My God, Waana as aolakayaailaahi

244. waado'oakayaa rabbi and I call on you, My lord

245. waarjookayaaSayidee And I have hope in you my master

246. And I crave for your acceptance of my prayer, O my Protector, just as you promised me Waat'maa'o fee ijaabatiyaamaulaayakamaawaa'dtani

247. and I have call upon you just as you have commanded me Waqaddaa'aotokakamaaamartani

248. So, do unto me what pleases you to do, O all Generous One Fafa'l bi maa anta ahlohuyaakareemo

249. And all Praise be to Allah, the Lord and Sustainer of the worlds Walh'am do lillaherabbila'alameen
