Important recitation: At the beginning of Tawaf, (after formulating intention), to kiss or signal to the Hajr-al-Aswad (Black stone) and proclaim audibly: Bis-millaahi Allaahu akbar walil-laa-hil-Hamd. And Salutation and Peace of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah! Recitations for Tawaf: Allaa-hum-maa –in-nee, as-aa- lukal - ’afwa-wal- ’aa -fiyah, wal- mu -’aa -faa-tad -daa- imah, fid-dun-yaa-wal- aa- khirah, wal-faw- za bil- jan-naah, wa-na -jaa -ta minan- naar. O Allah! Recitations for Tawaf: Allaa-hum-ma inna, haa-dzal-bayta-baytuk, wal-Harama Haramuk, wal -am-na -am-nuk , wal-’abdu ‘abduk, wa- ana- ‘abduka wab-nu ( wab-natu ) ‘abdik, wa-haa-dzaa ma-qaa-mul -‘aa-idzi -bika minan-naar. Fa-Har-rim luHuu-manaa, wa bashar-tanaa, ‘alan-naar. O Allah! Verily this House is Your House, and this Haram (Sanctuary) is Your Haram, and the Peace and tranquility which prevails here is from Your Bounties. And every servant is Your servant and I am also Your servant, a son (or daughter ) of Your servant, and this is the place of those who seek Your refuge from the Hell-fire. 10. Recitations for Tawaf: Allaa-humma, Habib-ilay-nal-ii-maan, wa- zay-yin-hu, fii - quluu-binaa, wa-kar-rih- ilay-naal- kufra,-wal-fu-suuqa,- wal-’isw-yaan, waj-’al-naa -minar-raa-shidiin. O Allah! Make faith our passion, and make it as ornaments in our hearts, and make us hateful of Kufr (unbelief) and of corruption (sinful deeds) and rebelliousness, and include us amongst those who are Rightly-guided. ©2005ZhulkefleeHjIsmail Second 2

11. Recitations for Tawaf: Allaa-humma qinii ‘adzaa-baka yauma tab-’a-thu- ’ibaa- dak. Allaa-hummar-zuq-nii - jan-nata bi-ghayri - Hisaab. O Allah! O Allah! I seek refuge in YOU from doubt, from associating partners (to You), from differences (in relations), dissensions, immorality, adverse state and a bad end (in life). 19. Recitations for Tawaf: Allaa-hum-maj-’al-hu, Haj-jan mab-ruu-ra, wa –sa’- yan mash-kuu-ra, wa-dzam-ban- magh- fuu-ra, wa- ‘amalan swo-lihan maq-buu-la, wa- ti-jaa-ra-tan lan-ta-bur. Ya- ’aa-lima- maa-fis-swuduur, akh-rij-nii -yaa-Allaah, minaz-zulumaa-ti -ilan- Nuur. O Allah! Render this pilgrimage of mine acceptable and successful, the efforts for which You are grateful, (a means of gaining Your) forgiveness for my sins, and the deeds of righteousness acceptable (to You), and honest dealings and business which suffer no loss. Grant me contentment with the provision from You, bless me with BARAKAH (auspiciousness) in all that which you have conferred on me. Recitations for Tawaf: Allaa-humma, azil-lanii, taH-ta zil-li-’arshik, yau-ma laa-zil-la- il-la zil-la -‘arshik, wa-laa baa-qii - il-laa waj-hak, wa-qinii min hau-dwi-nabiy-yika, Say-yi-dinaa Muham-madin swol-laAllahu ‘alay-hi wa-sal-lam, shar-batan, ha-ni-atan, ma-ri - atan, laa - naz-maa -u – ba’-dahaa - abadaa. O Allah! Shelter me beneath the shade of Your ‘Arsh, on the day when there will be no shelter except your ’Arsh, and there is no countenance except You alone. Provide me a pleasant and delicious drink from the Hawd (al-Kauthar) of Your Prophet, our Leader Muhammad s.a.w., so that thereafter I will feel no more thirst ,forever. ©2005ZhulkefleeHjIsmail Fifth 5

Wa - a- ’uudzu-bika min-shar-ri mas-ta- ’aadza-bika minhu, Nabiy-yika, Say-yidinaa Muham-madun swol-laAllahu ‘alay-hi wa-sal-lam. O Allah! I ask from You all goodness (Blessings) which Your Prophet our Leader Muhammad s.a.w. have ever asked (from You). 26. Recitations for Tawaf: Allaa-humma, innii –as- alukal -jan-nata, wa- na-’ee- muhaa, wa-maa- yuqar- ribunii- ilay-haa, min-qaw-lin, au-’amalin, au-fi’-lin. Wa-a -’uu-dzubika minan-naari, wa-maa-yuqar-ribunii – ilay-ha, min-qaw-lin au-’amal. O Allah! I ask from You the Paradise and all its blissful content, and (that You grant me ability) to draw near to it with my every words and actions. Allaa-humma, maa-kaa-na laka min-haa, fagh-fir-hu-lii, wa-maa kaa-na li-khol-qik, fa-ta-Ham-mal-hu ‘an-nii. O Allah! There are many rights of Yours which is upon me and there are many rights which subsist between me towards Your creations, forgive me for all trespasses against You and for the trespasses and shortcomings in my relationship towards Your creations, (O Allah! )You be my Guarantor (for these, with Your blessings). ©2005ZhulkefleeHjIsmail Sixth 6

30. Recitations for Tawaf: wa - agh -ni-nii, bi-Halaa-lika ‘an-Ha-raa-mik, wa-bi- twa -’a- tika- ‘an - ma’ -swi-yatik, wa-bi -fadw-lika- ‘an-man si-waak. Yaa- waa -si- ’al- Magh-firah. (O Allah! ) and Provide for me lawful subsistence as against the unlawful, instill in myself faithful obedience (to You) and provide me with Your Favours and render me independent of the favours of others except those which is from You, O Allah! Verily (this) Your House is indeed great, and Your Countenance the Most Noble, and You , O Allah! Is Most Kind, Most Noble and Most Exalted! Recitations for Tawaf: wa -riz-qon-Halaa -lan twoy-yiba, wa-tau -batan –na-swuu-Ha, wa-tau-batan-qob-lal-mawt, wa-Ro-Hatan- ‘indal-mawt, wal-magh-firotan - wa-Rohatan ba’-dal mawt, wal-’afwu-’indal-Hisaab, wal-fawza- bil-jan-nah, wa-na-jaa-ta minan-naar. And (I ask You O Allah!) Sustenance that is lawful and good, and repentance that is true and sincere, repentance before death, and ease at time of death (with Your blessings), ease (with Your blessings) and forgiveness after death, Your forgiveness at the time of interrogation, for the success with being given Paradise, and the protection from the Hell-fire. ©2005ZhulkefleeHjIsmail Seventh 7
