IBM cognos work space configuration

1. IBM cognos work space
configuration

2. There is no connection in between database and work
space for data source “great outdoor warehouse”

3. Go to home:
click on launch
Ibm cognos administration

4. Click on configuration
add new data source

5. Add name :’great_outdoors_warehouse’

6. Click next and select: IBMDB2

7. DB2 database name, and type: GS_DB
DB2 connect string, and type the DB2 connection string
jdbc:db2://localhost:50000/GS_DB

8. Userid:db2admin
pwd:123

9. User id ,pwd same as in configuration manager
content store

10. Click on test connection: if connection
established then it show staus succeeded

11. Close and go to next

12. Server name:localhost
port:50000

13. Again test connection

14. Clcik on finish

15. Now go launch cognos workspace

16. In content store no data stored

17. Go to IBM DB2 command window admin

18. First look in sample data folder for
setup

20. Change the directory to setup data
source

21. Write:setupGSDB

22. Press Enter

23. Type :y and Enter

24. Just press enter without any admin
user name and password

25. This process create database GS_DB
in db2

26. Drag and drop go data ware house
analysis-click on financial report

27. Report will be generated

29. Share a workspace

30. Option show which part you want to
share

33. Click on this link

34. Link will display your report anywhere anytime
provided you IBM configuration is running and
connected to network

35. Export and print Data
• In work space drag and drop go dataware house analysis in
workspace
• Click on cognos workspace advanced

36. Click on promotion success

37. Click on open with report studio

38. Here you can manupulate - add or
delete the fields

39. Here again you can run report a
modified report will appear

40. You can view the report in any format

41. Edit workspace style
