WHEN THE TEATRES REOPENED HE BECAME A SHAREHOLDER AND THE PLAYWRIGHT OF THE MOST SUCCESFUL COMPANY OF ACTORS THE LORD CHAMBERLAIN’S MEN SHAKESPEARE ‘S LIFE

THE POET SHAKESPEARE’S SONNETS WERE PUBLISHED IN 1609 .THE COLLECTIONINCLUDED 154 SONNETS ,THIS WERE NOT NECESSARILY CHRONOLOGICAL .THEY CAN BE DIVIDED INTO TWO SECTIONS.THE FIRST 126SONNETS ARE ADDRESSEDTO A «FAIR YOUTH» AND THE REST OF THE POEMS ARE ADDRESSED TO A «DARK LADY» THE COMEDIAN SHAKESPEARE’S COMEDIES FOLLOW A CERTAIN SET OF CONVENTIONES INCLUDING: disguise, mistaken identity, frustrated love

THE WORLD OF DRAMA A PLAY CONSIST OF A NUMBER OF ACTS DIVIDED INTO SCENES .ALL SHAKESPEARIAN PLAYS ARE MADE UP OF FIVE ACTS :  ACT 1= INTRODUCTION  ACT 2= DEVELOPMENT  ACT 3=CRISIS OR TURNING POINT  ACT 4=COMPLICATION  ACT 5= DENOVEMENT THE DIALOGUE IS THE MAIN SUPPORT OF DRAMA SINCE: CREATES THE ACTION ,GIVES INFORMATION ABOUT THE PAST AND CAN FORESHADOW SUBSEQUENT EVENTS

  • 8. IN DRMA THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THE ASIDE. THE ASIDE IS A SHORT COMMENT MADE BY A CHARACTER FOR THE AUDIENCE ALONE ,USSUALY OCCURRING BETWEEN SPEECHES. IT PURPOSE CAN BE:  TO REVEL THE NATURE OF THE SPEAKER  TO CREATE HUMOR BY INTRODUCING THE UNEXPECTED
  • 9. THE WORLD OF TRAGEDY THE TRAGEDY IS A GENRE MOST IMPORTANT INFACT MOST OF HIS WORKS IS A TRAGEDY. TRAGEDY’ S FEATURES ARE:  USES A SOLEMN STYLE AND ELEVATED LANGUAGE  THE HEROES/HEROINES ARE NOT FREE,BUT DOMINATED BY FATE  THERE IS GENERALLY A VILLAIN WHO IS GUILTY OF SOME ACTION WHICH HE MUST EXPIATE THROUGH DEATH  THE HERO SOMETIMES PRESENTS A FLAW WHICH LANDS HIM TO SUFFERING,MANDESS OR SUICIDE.IN THIS CASA THE CHARACTER IS CALLED A «TRAGIC HERO»
  • 10. THE MOST IMPORTANT TRAGEDY IS «ROMEO AND JULIET» ROMEO AND JULIET THEMES  DISGUISE  LOVE AND DEATH  ARRANGED MARRIAGE  THE ROLE OF POISON  SIDE EFFECTS
  • 11. THE PLOT THE SETTIN IS VERONA,WHERE TWO FAMILIES, THE MONTAGUES AND THE CAPULETS,ARE LOCKED IN A VIOLENT FEUD. THE PROTAGONIST OF THE STORY ARE ROMEO ,SON OF LORD MONTAGUE , AND JULIET ,DAUGTHER OF CAPULET. THE TWO YOUNG MEET IN VERONA AND THEY FALL IN LOVE AND THANKS THE HELP OF FRIAR LAWRENCE THEY MARRIED .THIS MARRIED DIDN’T ACCEPTED BY LORD CAPULET INFACT HE DRUNK TO JULIET A POTION WHICH WILL GIVE HER FAKE DEAD FOR 42 HOUR. ROMEO THOUGHT THAT JULIET WAS DEAD SO I KILLED.
  • 12. Juliet though she is set with in the courtly love convention, she is unconventional because she stands for innocence, belongs to no characterisation, is a real woman Romeo courteous lover, intense adoration of a chaste woman

THE WORLD OF COMEDY THE COMEDY IS GENRE MOST CHEERFUL INFACT HER ROLE IS TO ENTERTAIN THE AUDIENCE.IT BEGINS WITH MISFORTUNE ,BUT DOES NOT END WITH THE DEATH OF THE MAIN CHARACTER AND TEH PLOT ARE MAINLY BASED ON LOVE AND RELY ON WITTY DIALOGUE . THE DIALOGUE IS TO USE FOR TO DESCRIBE THE SOCIETY BY THE COMIC CHARACTERS .

PIT= IT PROJECTED INTO AN UNCOVERED CENTRAL AREA .HE USED FOR DEVILISH APPARITIONES ,DISAPPARITIONES AND ALSO FOR BURIALS. 3. SCENARY=THERE WAS NO SCENARY AND PLAYS WERE ACTED IN DAYLIGHT.PERFORMANCES REQUIRED A LIMITED NUMBER OF PROPS: TABLES, CHAIRS,CANVASSES OF THE SUN AND MOON. 4. GALLERY=THE STAGE IS SURROUNDED BY THREE ROOFED TIERS OF GALLERIES.THE GALLERY ABOVE THE STAGE COULD BE USED EITHER BY THE AUDIENCE OR BY THE MUSICIANS.
  • 16. 5. BALCONY=CROWENED BY A GABLE ON THE UPPER FLOOR HOUSED THE STAGE MACHINERY. 6. THIRING HOUSE=WAS AT THE REAR OF THE STAGE .THERE WERE TWO DOORS FOR ENTRANCES AND EXITS GENNERALLY THE ELIZABETHAN ACTOR WAS BUSY MAN ,COSTANTLY REHEARSING NEW PLAYS. THE ACTION WAS CONTINUOUS. A SCENE ENDED WHEN ALL THE ACTORS HAD GONE OFF THE STAGE.
