 Defense Headquarter Complex, Akuregoda, Sri Lanka
The Defence Headquarters Complex (DHQC) is being constructed at Akuregoda,
Battaramulla, Sri Lanka comprising Main Complex and Residential Complex. Main
Complex consists of 8 numbers of 10 storied building Blocks with an open area in the
middle. The main aim of the project is to construct a building complex to centralize the
tri forces to one location of the country. The gross floor area of the complex is
approximately 432,000 m2 and estimated project value is US $ 520 million.
 Kothalawala Defense Hospital, Werahera, Sri Lanka
The Kotelawala Defence University Teaching Hospital (KDU - TH) is being constructed in
Werahera, Sri Lanaka. It’s one of the largest Hospital in Sri Lanka with 704 number of beds
and 21 number of operation theaters. The building include 12 stories and gross floor area
is 60,800 m2 and the estimated project cost US $ 201.6 million.

Mechanical Engineer (July 2013 to December 2014)
• Designing HVAC systems according to BS Code, SMACNA & ASHRAE standards.
• Preparation of data sheets, specification and material requisition for HVAC systems such as
chiller, AHU, package unit, ducts, VRV, pipe, exhaust fans, HVAC control panel etc.
• Design check for constructability and highlight critical designs.
• Site supervision- quantify all task and set duration with productivity requirement as per
planning, quantify surveying, billing and verification.
• Inspecting site progress for work produced by contractor and subcontractor.
• Making inspection with clients for all erection works and overseeing quality control and safety
procedures at site.
• Making a comparison between different HVAC equipment costs, power consumption,
performance and monthly costs of systems.
• Preparation of technical room data sheets, HVAC heat load calculations, Duct/pipe design,
Routing calculation and static pressure calculation based on ASHRAE standards.
Completed projects included:
 Working as a Site Engineer at Cargills Square Shopping Complex, Jaffna Sri Lanka– a
building with 3 stories including underground car park. Total Project capacity is 430 ton.
(10 no of 20 ton water cool package, 3 no of 30 ton VRV system and 40 ton, 30 ton and 20
ton air cool package)
 Working as a Site Engineer at Havelock City Apartment Complex, Colombo Sri Lanka – a
building with two tower 22 stories. (365 no of ventilation fan for toilet, kitchen, generator
room….etc.)
 Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Air Conditioning and
Ventilation System at Burger King Restaurant in Kandy City Centre Sri Lanka.
 Design, preparation of Cost estimation Documents and drawings of VRV System at Mega
Phama building in Dehiwala, Sri Lanka.
