(b) What fraction of the class offer chemistry but not Physics.
9. Factorise 5(2ax - a) + 3(ax + xa).
10. Factorise 4x + 28ay - 7a - 16xy.
11. Draw the graph of Y =X^2 + 2X + 1 from -3 to 3.
12. Draw the graph of Y = X^2 + X - 2 from X= -3 to X = 3.
13. Draw the graph of 3X^2 – 5X - 2= Y from - 4 to + 3.
Hence find the roots of the equation 3X^2 – 5X – 2= 0.
14. Use elimination method to solve
2x – y = 8 and 3x+y = 2.
15. Use substitution method to solve 3x+y = 1 and 2x –y = 4.

a.) a trapezium PQRS in which the parallel sides PQ and SR are 5cm apart,
<SPQ=60°, |PQ|=9cm and SR=6cm.
b.) Locus L1 of points equidistant from P and Q.
c.) Locus L2 of points 7cm from P.
d.) Locate M1 & M2 points of intersection of L1 & L2.
e.) Measure |M1M2|.
8. Two men, P and Q, set off from a base camp R prospecting for oil. P moves 20km on a
bearing of 205° and Q moves 15km on a bearing of 060°. Calculate the

intervals.
b.) write down the class boundaries.
10.) The time T taken to buy fuel at a petrol station varies directly as the number of vehicles V
on queue and jointly varies inversely as the number of pumps P available in the station. In a
station with 5 pumps, it took 10 minutes to fuel 20 vehicles. Find:
i.) the relationship between T, P and V,
ii.) the time it will take to fuel 50 vehicles in the station with 2 pumps;
iii.) the number of pumps required to fuel 40 vehicles in 20 minutes.
