THROTTLE ANGLE SENSOR (TPS)
Throttle is a valve mechanism allowing
to modify the amount of gas flow into
the cylinders of a gasoline internal
combustion engine.

POTENTIOMETRIC MAGNETIC INDUCTIVE
INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE
SENSOR
• Monitors the temperature of the air entering
the engine.
• PARAMETER- Air Density & A/F mixture
• Similar to THERMISTER
MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR
• To determine the mass flow rate of air entering a fuel-
injected internal combustion engine.

• I = constant

• When bike moves, air contacts with wire
• Temperature of wire decrease

• Resistance (R) decreases
• Thereby More Current (I) & Voltage (V)

• As more I increases, more Temperature too increases

• At some point it attains equilibrium
MAF SENSOR
PLATINUM WIRE
OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
• Monitors the temperature of the engine oil
in vehicle & displays this measurement to
the vehicle’s occupants
• Its a thermistor that varies in resistance as
engine oil temperature changes
OXYGEN SENSOR
OXYGEN SENSOR
• Oxygen sensor sends measurements of the
amount of oxygen flowing into the intake or
exhaust system to the ECU.
• Generally monitor exhaust gas.
Oxygen Sensor
• Operates by measuring the difference in
oxygen between exhaust gas and external air, &
generates a voltage or changes its resistance
depending on the difference between the two
CRANK ANGLE SENSOR
Monitor ing The Position/ Rotational Speed Of Crankshaft.
•The Inductive
Sensor
•Hall Effect
Sensor
•Magneto
Resistive Sensor
•Optical Sensor
CAS
Inductive Sensors have the simplest construction and are
usually purely passive devices.
Hall Effect & Magneto Resistive Sensors have the
advantage over inductive sensors in that they can detect
static (non-changing) magnetic fields.
Optical Sensors do not
have great resistance
against fouling, but are
able to provide the
most precise edge
detection
SPEED SENSOR (RPM)
• Type of Tachometer
• Wheel speed sensor was initially used to replace
the mechanical linkage from the road wheels to
the speedometer, eliminating cable breakage
and simplifying the gauge construction
BANK ANGLE SENSOR
• Safety Device.
• Detects if a motorbike is leaning on an extreme
angle or if the bike has been dropped &
subsequently cuts power to the engine.
• To minimize the risks of a motorcyclist being
dragged back into the motorbike by a fast
spinning wheel when the bike is dropped at
speed.
BAS
CONCLUSION
• Sensors must harmony together with ECU.
• Continuous feedback system.
• Best delivery power even at Lean or Rich.
• Auto diagnostic characteristic.
• Pinnacle as “ ABOVE ALL”

  • 5. THROTTLE ANGLE SENSOR (TPS) Throttle is a valve mechanism allowing to modify the amount of gas flow into the cylinders of a gasoline internal combustion engine. TPS POTENTIOMETRIC MAGNETIC INDUCTIVE
  • 6. INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR • Monitors the temperature of the air entering the engine. • PARAMETER- Air Density & A/F mixture • Similar to THERMISTER
  • 7. MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR • To determine the mass flow rate of air entering a fuel- injected internal combustion engine. 1 • I = constant 2 • When bike moves, air contacts with wire • Temperature of wire decrease 3 • Resistance (R) decreases • Thereby More Current (I) & Voltage (V) 4 • As more I increases, more Temperature too increases 5 • At some point it attains equilibrium
  • 9. OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR • Monitors the temperature of the engine oil in vehicle & displays this measurement to the vehicle’s occupants • Its a thermistor that varies in resistance as engine oil temperature changes OXYGEN SENSOR
  • 10. OXYGEN SENSOR • Oxygen sensor sends measurements of the amount of oxygen flowing into the intake or exhaust system to the ECU. • Generally monitor exhaust gas.
  • 11. Oxygen Sensor • Operates by measuring the difference in oxygen between exhaust gas and external air, & generates a voltage or changes its resistance depending on the difference between the two
  • 12. CRANK ANGLE SENSOR Monitor ing The Position/ Rotational Speed Of Crankshaft. •The Inductive Sensor •Hall Effect Sensor •Magneto Resistive Sensor •Optical Sensor
  • 13. CAS Inductive Sensors have the simplest construction and are usually purely passive devices. Hall Effect & Magneto Resistive Sensors have the advantage over inductive sensors in that they can detect static (non-changing) magnetic fields. Optical Sensors do not have great resistance against fouling, but are able to provide the most precise edge detection
  • 14. SPEED SENSOR (RPM) • Type of Tachometer • Wheel speed sensor was initially used to replace the mechanical linkage from the road wheels to the speedometer, eliminating cable breakage and simplifying the gauge construction
  • 15. BANK ANGLE SENSOR • Safety Device. • Detects if a motorbike is leaning on an extreme angle or if the bike has been dropped & subsequently cuts power to the engine. • To minimize the risks of a motorcyclist being dragged back into the motorbike by a fast spinning wheel when the bike is dropped at speed.
