 Maruti Suzuki India Limited, formerly known as Maruti
Udyog Limited, is an automobile manufacturer in India.
 It is a subsidiary of Japanese automobile and motorcycle
manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation.
Founded: 1982
HQ: Delhi
Key People : R. C. Bhargava (Chairman)
Kenichi Ayukawa (MD & CEO)
Parent Company :Suzuki Motor Corporation
INRODUCTION
HISTORY
 Maruti udyog limited was established in February 1981.
 In 1982, a licence & Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) was signed
between Maruti Udyog Ltd, and Suzuki of Japan.
 First Historious car is Maruti 800
 Maruti 800 - Launched 1983 - Largest selling car in India, until 2004 -
cheapest car in India.
1. ENGINE OIL REPLACE
 Change engine oil at the vehicle manufacturer's
recommended service interval that matches
vehicle's operating conditions and driving habits
 Make sure to check vehicle manual for the
correct viscosity
 Engine oils:-5W30,5W40,10W40
2. OIL FILTER REPLACAE
Car manufacturers often suggest changing oil
filters with every oil change,
which should occur every 3,000 miles or three months
(whichever comes first)
 Need to be changed:-Dirty or clogged oil
filters allow contaminants to sail straight to engine
where they can cause damage as well as affect fuel
economy.
STEP 1
Run your
engine.Since
warm oil
drains faster
STEP 2
Drive car
onto two
ramps.
STEP 3
Locate the
oil drain plug
and place
the oil pan
below it.
STEP 4
Unscrew the
plug by
hand.
STEP 5
Drain old oil.
STEP 6
Replace oil
plug.
STEP 7
Remove
existing oil
filter.
STEP 8
Lubricate the
new filter
and screw
into place by
hand
STEP 9
Pour new oil.
STEP 10
Run the
engine and
look for
leaks.
STEP 11
Check the oil
level.
STEP 12
Dispose of
old oil and
oil filter
properly.
STEP TO REPLACE OIL FILTER:-
Cont….
3.AIR FILTER REPLACE
 Check the filter regularly to keep
your car breathing at maximum efficiency by
keeping the dust out.
 Change the filter every 50,000 km (30,000
miles), or about once a year. If we drive in a
dusty area, it will need replacement more often.
 Recommend having AirFilter checked during every oil
change or aspart of your normal maintenance
schedule & get it replaced
4.BRAKE PAD REPLACE
On average, most brake pads will last about 50,000 miles.
Don’t wait for one of these below signs to become evident.
Check brake pads every 12,000 miles or 12 months.
SIGNS TO REPLACE BRAKE PAD:-
1.Grinding, scraping, or squealing noises when applying the brakes.
2.It takes longer than normal to come to a complete stop.
3.Vehicle vibration when brakes are applied.
4.Less than a quarter inch of brake pad.
Fig: brake pad

5.GEAR OIL CHANGE
 change the gear oil at least at 40K miles
or as per car manual.
 In general,
mineral gear oil needs to be
changed more often, while
synthetic oil lasts longer.
 synthetic oils are made from more
advanced refining processes and are of a
higher purity and quality than conventional
mineral oils or semi-synthetic oils.
Gearbox oils are classified by the American
Petroleum Institute(API) using GL ratings.
Three API gear lubricant service designations are in
use today.
1. API GL-4 classifies passenger car and light
truck manual gear box.
2. API GL-5 defines passenger car, light
and heavy truck and bus hypoid final drives.
3. API MT-1 is a recently introduced.
API RATINGS:-

7.COOLANT TOP-UP
 coolant is like the water that
helps to dispel heat. In fact,
coolant mixes with water in a
car's radiator. It prevents
the water from freezing and
boiling given the extreme
temperatures it is exposed to.
NEED TO BE COOLENT CHANGED:-
Over time, dirt and other contaminants
can build up in the fluid, or it may
become acidic. When this occurs, the
radiator fluid is much less effective and
should be changed.
Cont…
8.Belt check
 A drive belt is the part that drives all the
accessories such as an alternator, power
steering pump, car's water pump, air
conditioning compressor etc.
 Serpentine belts: A serpentine belt, also
known as a multi-vee, poly-v, or multi-rib
belt, is a single, continuous belt used to drive
multiple peripheral devices in an automotive
engine.
fig:-serpentine belts
The belt itself is driven by
a pulley attached to the
engine crankshaft
 Drive belt is replaced
between 40,000 and
70,000 miles.
Cont….
9. SPARKPLUG CHECK
 Spark plugs deliver an electric spark
that starts combustion inside the
cylinders of a gasoline-powered
engine.
 Over time, the tip and the electrode
wear out and gap between them
increases.
 A failed ignition coil or cable will
cause an engine to misfire.
There are two types of spark plugs:
1.conventional
2.long-life (platinum- or iridium tipped).
 It's recommended to replace all spark
plugs if one of the ignition coils fail.
Cont….
10.WHEEL BALANCING
For smooth rotation of the wheel and tyre assembly without
causing its own vibrations, the wheel assembly must be in a
state of static and dynamic balance.
Factors responsible for an imbalance of the mass
distribution around the wheel are as follows.
(i) Tyre moulding may not be fitted concentric on the wheel rim.
(ii) buckled wheel rim.
(iii)Tyre walls, crown tread thickness may be non-uniform.
(iv) Over or under inflation of tyre may cause uneven wear
across the tread.
fig:-Wheel balance machine
Cont….
11. WHEEL ALIGNMENT
 Wheel alignment, mainly consists of adjusting the
angles of wheels to the car manufacturer
specifications.
 The purpose of these adjustments is to reduce tire
wear, and to ensure that vehicle travel is straight and
true.
Need of wheel alignment:-
 Uneven tread wear
 Vehicle pulling to the left or right
 steering wheel is off center when
driving straight
Cont….
1. CAMBER
 This is the inward or outward
angle of the wheel when viewed
from the front of the vehicle.
 inward or outward tilt, known as
negative and positive camber,
respectively.
TERMS USED IN WHEEL ALIGNMENT
2. TOE
 toe alignment is the extent to
which tires turn inward or outward
when viewed from above.
 Steering response will be improved
with toe-out.
 Straight line stability will be
improved with toe-in.
Cont….
3. CASTER
 it’s the angle of steering axis
from the verical when viewed
from the side of vehicle.
 caster angle helps balance
steering and stability.
Cont….
12. Lubricate & Grease 1. Rubber boots (tie rod end)
2. Door
3. CV Shaft
4. Rear Differential Housing Oil
Change
5. Wheel Bearing Grease
6. Steering cable lubrication
7. Brake Fluid
8. Gear shift linkage
9.Clutch Spring
10.Gear Oil (transmission oil)
11.Brake Caliper Greasing
13.WASHING
Washing is done after all the behind
process.
Washing is done with help high
pressure water sprey.
Washing is done after every service
of the car
Thank you

  • 9. 4.BRAKE PAD REPLACE On average, most brake pads will last about 50,000 miles. Don’t wait for one of these below signs to become evident. Check brake pads every 12,000 miles or 12 months. SIGNS TO REPLACE BRAKE PAD:- 1.Grinding, scraping, or squealing noises when applying the brakes. 2.It takes longer than normal to come to a complete stop. 3.Vehicle vibration when brakes are applied. 4.Less than a quarter inch of brake pad.
  • 11. 5.GEAR OIL CHANGE  change the gear oil at least at 40K miles or as per car manual.  In general, mineral gear oil needs to be changed more often, while synthetic oil lasts longer.  synthetic oils are made from more advanced refining processes and are of a higher purity and quality than conventional mineral oils or semi-synthetic oils.
  • 12. Gearbox oils are classified by the American Petroleum Institute(API) using GL ratings. Three API gear lubricant service designations are in use today. 1. API GL-4 classifies passenger car and light truck manual gear box. 2. API GL-5 defines passenger car, light and heavy truck and bus hypoid final drives. 3. API MT-1 is a recently introduced. • 13. 7.COOLANT TOP-UP  coolant is like the water that helps to dispel heat. In fact, coolant mixes with water in a car's radiator. It prevents the water from freezing and boiling given the extreme temperatures it is exposed to.
  • 14. NEED TO BE COOLENT CHANGED:- Over time, dirt and other contaminants can build up in the fluid, or it may become acidic. When this occurs, the radiator fluid is much less effective and should be changed. Cont…
  • 15. 8.Belt check  A drive belt is the part that drives all the accessories such as an alternator, power steering pump, car's water pump, air conditioning compressor etc.  Serpentine belts: A serpentine belt, also known as a multi-vee, poly-v, or multi-rib belt, is a single, continuous belt used to drive multiple peripheral devices in an automotive engine. fig:-serpentine belts
  • 16. The belt itself is driven by a pulley attached to the engine crankshaft  Drive belt is replaced between 40,000 and 70,000 miles. Cont….
  • 17. 9. SPARKPLUG CHECK  Spark plugs deliver an electric spark that starts combustion inside the cylinders of a gasoline-powered engine.  Over time, the tip and the electrode wear out and gap between them increases.  A failed ignition coil or cable will cause an engine to misfire.
  • 18. There are two types of spark plugs: 1.conventional 2.long-life (platinum- or iridium tipped).  It's recommended to replace all spark plugs if one of the ignition coils fail. Cont….
  • 19. 10.WHEEL BALANCING For smooth rotation of the wheel and tyre assembly without causing its own vibrations, the wheel assembly must be in a state of static and dynamic balance. Factors responsible for an imbalance of the mass distribution around the wheel are as follows. (i) Tyre moulding may not be fitted concentric on the wheel rim. (ii) buckled wheel rim. (iii)Tyre walls, crown tread thickness may be non-uniform. (iv) Over or under inflation of tyre may cause uneven wear across the tread.
  • 21. 11. WHEEL ALIGNMENT  Wheel alignment, mainly consists of adjusting the angles of wheels to the car manufacturer specifications.  The purpose of these adjustments is to reduce tire wear, and to ensure that vehicle travel is straight and true.
  • 22. Need of wheel alignment:-  Uneven tread wear  Vehicle pulling to the left or right  steering wheel is off center when driving straight Cont….
  • 23. 1. CAMBER  This is the inward or outward angle of the wheel when viewed from the front of the vehicle.  inward or outward tilt, known as negative and positive camber, respectively. TERMS USED IN WHEEL ALIGNMENT
  • 24. 2. TOE  toe alignment is the extent to which tires turn inward or outward when viewed from above.  Steering response will be improved with toe-out.  Straight line stability will be improved with toe-in. Cont….
  • 25. 3. CASTER  it’s the angle of steering axis from the verical when viewed from the side of vehicle.  caster angle helps balance steering and stability. Cont….
