2. WHAT DO I WANT MY STUDENTS TO DO
WITH TECHNOLOGY?
Use technology to better their relationships as students and build a positive
environment to learn in.
Make our learning environment more productive by using the available
technologies to answer their questions.
4. HOW CAN WE USE
ANIMOTO?
With Animoto you can create a video, add music
or voice, add pictures and text, and share it with
a group or teacher.
I think using Animoto as an introduction of
yourself to the class would be a great way of
building better relationships with your students, as
well as building better relationships between the
students themselves.
Having each of your students create a short video
is a great way to introduce each other without
standing in front of a group of people you just met
and telling them what you like and dislike and so
on.
Animoto is a great program to use to tie in TPACK
because using the program (Technology) to
Teach (Pedagogy) your students new material
(Content)is a great way to intergrate
technologies into the classroom.
5. HOW CAN WE USE GLOGSTER?
Glogster, I have found, is a very useful program that
can be used in many different ways. For my
Technology in Education class last semester we had to
use a program to develop a lesson poster. Glogster
gives the users a fun and creative way to make a
poster for any subject.
In an elementary class setting I think Glogster would be
a great way to start the class. By creating a “Bell
Ringer” assignment to do as soon as class starts is an
exciting way to start the class. Using this program is a
productive way to use technology to find answers and
show your answers to the class in a fun and creative
way.
There are so many options as to how you can use
Glogster in the classroom.
According to TPACK, Technology, Pedagogy, and
Content must interact with each other in order to
support better teaching!
6. HOW CAN WE USE BLOGS?
Blogs can be used in many ways as well. On my Blog that I am
currently using I post things about what I am doing in my education
classes, and what programs, apps, or tools I am using. I review how
well they have worked, what I didn’t like about them, and different
ideas of how to use them appropriately in class.
In an Elementary setting I would use a Blog to keep connected with
the parents of my students. Sending a letter home with students isn’t
always easy, so by posting on the blog what you need the parents to
know is quicker and more effective in most cases. The parents are
able to check the blog when they have time and receive the
information directly instead of it getting “lost” in the student’s
backpack.
By using Blogs to keep the parents involved is a great way for the
teacher to build better relationships with the parents. As well as
gaining the involvement of the parents, using a blog gives the
teacher more time to be “in class” instead of typing up a
letter, printing it, and sending it home with the students or mailing it to
the parents.
Using a blog to teach a subject to elementary students seems
tricky, although if you can come up with a way to use a blog in this
setting it is a great example of the idea of TPACK.
