Technologies Learned
1. Question 6:
What have you learned about technologies
from the process of constructing this
product?
2. In the beginning of my coursework, I had to set up a blog to put all
my work on. I set it up on “blogger”, which was very easy. All i had
to do was to make a Google account, and follow the instructions
on the site.
I also made my blog look a bit nicer, by choosing an elegant
layout and giving it some clean colours.
3. The first thing I did for my music magazine research was to make
a questionnaire about my target audience. I used the website
“Survey Monkey” to make my questions. I learnt that electronic
questionnaires are a good to reach out to many people, especially
teenagers, and get a lot of responses back in a short amount of
time.
4. I used Microsoft PowerPoint to organize and plan almost all my
work on. I had used Power Point before, so this technology was
not new or hard for me. I think that Power point is a good way of
showing my coursework, as you can add text and pictures etc.…
5. Through this coursework I have learned how easy it is to make a
blog, and make blog posts and how to put a PowerPoint- or word
document into my blog by using the webpage called “slide share”.
This way my blog does not look so boring with just text on it, but
now it also has some slide shares with some Power Points. It also
makes my research and work more organized.
6. I had never before used
“Photoshop”, so this was
defiantly the most difficult
technology for me. When I first
used the program, I did not
know where to start at all, but
after some lessons it got easier
and easier. I used Photoshop
to create my front cover.
7. I learned that if I wanted to edit things in my project, I had to
create different layers, and I learned that I always have to press
the “selection tool” (the white arrow), if I wanted to move things
around.
8. InDesign is a software which can be used to create works such as
posters, flyers, brochures, magazines etc. And that it why I used
InDesign to make my contents page and my double spread page
for my music magazine. I had ever used this program before
either, so it was difficult in the start. After a while I started learning
who to use it, and it became easier and easier to make my
magazine contents.
9. I learned how to make text columns, and how to connect them to
each other. By connecting all the columns, the text automatically
moves over to the next column if there is no more space left in the
other one.
When you drag
one column into
another one, they
are connected.
10. We got a memory stick at school, which I used to transfer my
work from school so that I could work on it at home as well. I
learned that I never should have all my work on only a
memory stick, as it is very easy to “brake” it or loose it. You
should always have back up of your work on one or more
computers.
11. I used my own camera to take pictures for my contents page and
for my double page spread. For my front cover, I used the photo
studio at school and the schools camera. It was very easy to
transfer the photos over to a computer and o
over to my memory stick.
