Nutcracker Arrest Time
NUTCRACKER 1ST TIME On my way to Nutcracker to do my part of a castle page. I was so excited but so nervous about Nutcracker. Singing the
music in my head. My parents were reassuring me. They were telling me you will do great. When I got there I had to sign in. Then I saw my fellow
pages whose names were Little Lauren,Crazy Cassidy,Makeup Me,Kalm Kaitlyn,Kool Kathryn, and Marvelous Mackenzie. We went to warm–up.
Which was so boring. But when we went up–stairs it was all fun. We had to wait in the hallway because the party girls went during first act and we
went during the second act. We played games and talked and drew things. One time we said "let's practice all together." After the Party Girls left we

'Removal Of The Cherokees And Christmas Eve On Lonesome'
There is one thing in life that is inevitable – death. This fact makes it hard to lose loved ones. After reading the short stories "Removal of the
Cherokees" by Burnett and "Christmas Eve on Lonesome" by Fox, Jr. it is apparent that the main theme is loss. Throughout these stories, the
characters' experience a loss of something that is exceedingly significant. The idea of losing someone you love is very agonizing. However, loss is an
occurrence that everyone will eventually experience. Once experienced, people naturally have challenging emotions. The most common emotional
effects of losing a loved one are shock, grief and hope.
The most unforgettable and depressing moment in my life was when my Grandmother passed. I was young at the time, ... Show more content on

It took several months after my Grandmother's passing to look at the situation in a brighter light. My friends and family helped me see things I did
not see myself. They helped me remember the good in the situation when I attempted to forget. At this point, I came to the realization that my
Grandmother was in a better place. Much like I needed my family, the Cherokee Indians needed theirs in a time of grief. For example, in "Removal of
the Cherokee," the Chief John Ross's wife died from pneumonia. The Chief had help to cope with his grief. He had the Indian tribe and private solider
Burnett for comfort. Throughout the whole story, the Indian families stick with each other and grieve the loss of their land and freedom. In the end,
the Cherokees made it through together and still had hope that one–day awareness would be

Angela Simmons Research Paper
Angela Simmons is a short, slender build, long brown headed, dimpled cheek eleven year old girl that loves to play with dolls. She is very
intelligent, smart, active, and loves to play sports, especially soccer. Angela's favorite toy is dolls regardless of type or kind. Angela was good in
reading, spelling, and math in school. Winter was her favorite season because that meant Christmas was coming. This Christmas in the year 2000,
Angela received many dolls as Christmas gifts. She also received a bright red bike that had a basket and horn on it. Angela would load up all her
dolls in the basket on her bike and ride up and down their driveway. Somehow the other dolls would always end up out of the basket. The other
dolls' limbs would sometimes be missing. It was puzzling to Angela why things were happening to the other dolls and one of the dolls would always
still be in tack and never fell out of the basket. As time passed, she began to favor one particular doll and she named her Isabelle. Isabelle was a red

Summary Of Fish Cheeks By Amy Tan
"Help and not fight. Assimilation and not destruction. Harmony and Peace and not dissension" were said by Swami Vivekananda addressing the
Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893. Similarly, the essays "Fish Cheeks" and "We're Not..." from Amy Tan and Andrea Roman respectively
point out that assimilation should not mean either or but instead a way to harmoniously co–exist by learning new and keeping the old traditions. This
is discussed through the dilemma that second generation immigrants go through as their parents try to hold on to cultural values that contrast the social
norm in the States. However, it is possible for immigrants to assimilate in the United States, and it's still able to maintain the heritage from the country
they came from.
Amy Tan's essay "Fish Cheeks" is a story about a teenage girl who is mortified at her ownculture. However, she wants to fit with American society.
Tan falls in love with a white American boy Robert, who was a minister's son. Her parents decided to invite Robert and his family over for
Christmas dinner. Tan was trying to fit in American culture because she did not want to look different. However, she wonders, "What would Robert
think of our shabby Chinese Christmas... our noisy Chinese relatives?" (Tan 74). By repeating the word "Chinese" with negative words in front of it,
like "shabby," and "noisy," Tan reveals her low level of pride in her heritage. She thinks her family is louder than they should be, that her customs are
less valuable than those of the guests. Christmas Eve dinner for Tan was outlandish. In fact, Tan feels frustrated because of her Chinese culture:
licked chopstick and digging into plates, eating cheeks and eye of fish, and belching loudly after finishing the dinner, she reacts by wanting "to
disappear" (Tan 75). After the dinner, Tan's mother said to her, "You want to be the same as American girls on the outside." Also, she handed her an
early gift, a miniskirt in beige tweed and said to her, "But inside you must always be Chinese. You must be proud you are different. Your only shame
is to have shame" (Tan 75). Later, Tan realized that being an outsider is not a source of shame, but of pride. Also, Tan explains that she came to accept

Personal Narrative : A Short Story : Christmas Eves '
It was Christmas Eve, and I had just hung up my stocking by the fireplace–right where it would be all ready for Santa when he slipped down the
chimney. I knew he was coming, because–well, because it was Christmas Eve, and because he always had come to leave gifts for me on all the other
Christmas Eves that I could remember, and because I had seen his pictures everywhere down town that afternoon when I was outside with my Mother.
Still, I wasn't JUST satisfied. 'Way down in my heart I was a little uncertain–you see, when you've never really and truly seen a person with your very
own eyes, it's had to feel as if you exactly believed in him–even though that person always has left beautiful gifts for you every time he has came. "Oh,
he'll come" I said;"I just know he will be here before morning, but some how I wish–" "Well, what do you wish?" said a Tiny Voice close by me
–so
close that I fairly jumped when I heard it. "Why, I wish I could SEE Santa Clause myself. I'd just like to go and see his house and his workshop, and
ride in his sleigh, and know Mrs. Clause–it would be such fun, and then I'd KNOW for sure." "Why don't you go then?" said the Tiny Voice so close
to me. "It' s easy enough. Just try on these Shoes, and take the Light in your hand, and you'll find your way all right." So I looked down on the Earth,
and there were two cunning little Shoes side by side, and a little Spark of Light close to them–just as if they were all made out of

Christmas Eve
Christmas is magical in the eyes of a child. At least, that's how it was for me. Every year, as the month of December rolled around, the lights were
strung and the trees were set up, I sent my letter out with a hopeful heart that Santa would make an appearance on my doorstep on Christmas Eve.
The December of 2008 was the year that I wished for an electric scooter. I mailed my wish list to Santa, knowing he would prevail and deliver that
Razor electric scooter with a hand brake and fat tires. Christmas morning was perfect! Santa had brought me a plum colored, shiny, and fully
charged electric scooter and my younger sister, Olivia, a hot pink one. They were perched on their small silver kickstands in front of our eight
foot tree that was weighed down with years worth of homemade and souvenir ornaments. The scooters were free of a box or wrapping, just how
Santa always brought the gifts. As soon as the all of the presents were ripped open and breakfast eaten, I pranced outside to test out my new ride. It
was a crisp, wintry morning with gray skies. I cruised back and forth on the scooter in front of my house for hours, accelerating on the uphills and
coasting on the downhills with the cold wind blowing through my tangled hair and my nose turning pink from the low temperatures. It was my
absolute favorite present. Fast forward a few days, the Saturday following Christmas, and I was hiking up the red clay hill that began to incline as
soon as you stepped off of our back

Short Essay On Ham
It's Thanksgiving week in the Premier League, but not everyone in the league may be feeling the holiday spirit. David Moyes' life with West Ham
started the same way it did during his previous managerial tenure in the league – with a loss. There was so much disdain for the Hammers' 2–0 loss to
Watford on Sunday, West Ham fans dialed the Essex Police Force to spew their grievances. Elsewhere, a 4
–0 loss to Chelsea last weekend cost former
West Brom manager Tony Pulis his job, while Southampton produced yet another sorry effort in a 3–0 loss to Liverpool. On a brighter note, Arsenal
earned bragging rights over Tottenham with a 2–0 win in last weekend's North London Derby, while Bournemouth remarkably smashed Huddersfield
Town, putting four... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Swans are two points away from safety and at risk of continuing their four–game league losing streak. Swansea have too often relied on Tammy
Abraham, which has brought their struggles, while Paul Clement's job is truly at risk. With Cherries striker Callum Wilson in hot form, this should
be a closely contested game. As for a shocking result, Manchester City or Arsenal could experience the designation. City visits a Huddersfield side
that has already beaten their neighbors, Manchester Untied, at home this season. With City not looking overly convincing in their last few games,
this could be an excellent opportunity for David Wagner's Terriers to move up the table. Meanwhile, Arsenal will visit a Burnley side with excellent
form this season, as both teams have 22 points in the table. A Burnley win could cement them as a true contender for the top 4. It's games like this
that could be the difference in Sean Dyche getting a crack at the Everton job or a better team, so expect it to be a great contest. Below are this

Movie Analysis : Movie Review : Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump
"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." However, when the viewers watch Forrest there is a lot of laughter and tears
shed. Forrest Gump, the main character, is a simple, slow–witted man with a low IQ, but Forrest has good intentions. The movie which is also named
Forrest Gump concentrates on Forrest through thirty years of misery, placing Forrest within historical events of history and in pursuit of the only love,
Jenny. Despite Forrest's naive nature, Forrest lives anything but a restricted life. Forrest impresses everyone by some powerful football skills, fighting
in Vietnam War, and by creating a business of shrimp fishing.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This film is a blend of different genres; the first one is romance. Romance is brought in by the main character Forrest Gump and Forrest's love
interest Jenny. Despite Jenny's immoral behavior, Forrest still loves Jenny unconditionally, which demonstrates the real meaning of true love. For
example, in one scene Jenny's boyfriend is abusing Jenny in front of Forrest and Forrest tries to help her, but Jenny refuses the help thinking that
Forrest shouldn't have interfered. The second genre is drama. A dramatic movie shows the character influencing people or the main character
himself being influenced. In some situations, Forrest influenced several people to do the right thing. It shows how a slow witted person can do so
many things in life and still stand out as an influential figure. For instance, Jenny realizes that Forrest's love is real and they get married, but soon
after a year Jenny dies of a disease. This is a perfect example of a dramatic sad ending, which left the viewers with eyes full of tears.
While the acting won thousands of people's hearts, the visual effects were also just as good. For instance, Lieutenant Taylor, commanding officer who
Forrest saved in the Vietnam War, lost both the legs due to some serious wound while attacking. Although in real life Lieutenant has legs, this scene did
an exceptionally good job convincing people that Lieutenant had prosthetic legs. The legs were either hidden by using technology, or by bending

A Day At Christmas Eve : A Christmas Day
It is Christmas Eve, 2011. Everything has been leading up to this. I had slumped through several excruciating advent masses where I spent my time
tracing scratches on the church's pews. Just days before the tree was decorated by all of my family, as per usual. Decorating late is never a surprise; it's
basically a tradition. On Christmas Eve, my built up energy from a past year of waiting for one day to finally arrive starts to overflow.
As we enter the Christmas Eve mass, churchgoers shower with me with smiles and "aww!"'s as my shyly embarrassed seven–year–old self walks
down rows of pews. I cradle my American Girl doll who flaunts the exact same outfit as me close to my chest. After seemingly an eternity, we leave
the church. My impatience of the longevity of the mass fades, and anxious hunger takes assumes its roll.
My family arrives at my grandparent's West Philadelphia home, awaiting a delectable meal including my all–time favorite, Kraft's mac and cheese. I
get out of our minivan and skip along to the front door as I watch my breath swoosh and swirl around, mingling with the bitter pitch–black air. The
usual smells of the house are evident––they never fail to be present––along with a mixture of pine–y, cinnamon–y Christmas smells created from a
winter scent display my grandma lays out.
My youngest brother and I, being the best of friends and the most annoying of siblings to each other, continue to be weirdos before dinner is ready.
We make goofy faces and silly,

Influence On Mexican Culture
Being born into a small town in Texas where a heavy influence on Mexican culture applies to almost everyone. It makes me realized that food really
plays a major part in identifying myself as a Mexican. Because the food, makes our culture unique. In addition, learning to make my very first ever

It was early in the morning, and I had just woken up because I hear voices and objects being moved around in my grandma's kitchen. I got up from
the bed and made my way down the hallway straight to the kitchen. Once I entered the kitchen I saw all of my aunts with my grandma kneading the corn
flour. I just stood there by the wooden door and watched as my aunts would laugh and talk to each other while the kneaded the corn flour. It was a
beautiful sight to see because of the sunlight that was coming in for the window was hitting their faces and making it look like they were glowing. I
started to look around the medium size room and saw the big dining table in the middle of the kitchen leaving little space to walk around properly.
I had walked into the kitchen, and all my aunts turned around and saw me standing there. My aunt Diana told me in Spanish "Come over and sit down
and help us make tamales for Christmas dinner. It's about time you start learning our Mexican traditions." So I went and washed my hand before being

Descriptive Essay On Christmas Eve
Have you ever spent hours and hours making and decorating cookies only two days before Christmas? I have because every year on Christmas Eve
my mom's whole side of the family comes to our house for a party. I get to see some cousins that I barely ever get see. We spend the whole day from
sunrise to sunset together. Seeing them is amazing because sometimes you don't realize how much you miss someone until you finally see them again.
Every Christmas Eve when we have the party everyone brings an amazing dish and almost everything is completely gone by the end of the night.
My aunt makes a ton of food and it is always so good that just the smell can make your mouth water. Also, everyone brings food and it is so hard not to
sneak some food before everyone eats. My family and I go to my aunt's house and our two families decorate enough cookies for everyone to have
some. Last year I got to bring a friend and we had a lot of fun decorating cookies. Everyone loves the taste and the design of all the cookies because
they are all different and delicious. We all spend time together then we eat dinner and we always leave snacks and desserts out and they are so good.
We always have soft sugar cookies with frosting on them and usually we have someone bring brownies and they are so chocolatey they taste amazing
and I can't keep my hands off of them since they are so great.
It is so amazing when I get so spend time with my cousins and family members. I don't see my family members

Description Of Christmas Eve At Christmas
Christmas Eve at Grandma's My grandma's living room, particularly at Christmas time, is one of my favorite places to be. Ever since I was young, I
can remember going to my grandma's house on Christmas Eve and having the time of my life. Every aspect of Christmas Eve at my grandma's house
gives me so much warmth and joy to think about. All the traditions, memories, and laughs that are exchanged on that one night, in that one room, every
year, will always remain priceless to me.
Growing up, I always sat in the same chair at my grandmother's house. It was an old off–white armchair with dark wooden legs. It always reminded me
of the kind of chairs you see in old movies, where the fancy girl with too many scarves seems to sit. To the left side of the chair is an old wooden
table that is showered with many small Christmas trinkets. At the bottom of the table, there is a small ledge where a singing Santa sits and an old bible
with massive words lay.
To the right side of the chair is an old television that probably weighs a hundred pounds, and is somehow held up by an even older television stand
that weighs a quarter of that. Inside the front of the television stand, there are a few small Beanie Babies. All of which my grandma associates with
each member of my family. In front of the off–white armchair, is the rest of the room. There is dingy hundred–year–old carpet with memories in every
stain. There is dark wooden paneling everywhere in sight. The old murky striped couch sits

Novel Reef Quotes
The novel Reef by Romesh Gunesekera is narrated by Triton the novel's young protagonist. This allows the readers to view and comprehend the
novel from his perspective. Triton goes through many rites of passage moments throughout the novel. He perceives Mister Salgado's home as the
"Centre of the Universe" (Gunesekera p). Triton regards Salgado as his mentor from which he learns and observes from, he says "So I watched
him and I watched him unendingly, all the time and I learned to become what I am (Gunesekera p43). Triton was always captivated by Salgado's
intellect and demeanour that he attempts to emulate him. He observes Mister Salgado as a gentle and "innocent" (Gunesekera p42) being. Triton
was also observant about Salgado's relationship with Miss Nili. However, Triton's observations were limited to his own knowledge and
understanding. He did not know Salgado and Nili on a private level. This creates a rite of passage moment for Triton as he realizes that he doesn't
really know them. Triton lived in Salgado's domestic space; however, he was initially invisible as he says he is "only a servant" (Gunesekera p99).
The first time Miss Nili visited Salgado, she had complimented Triton, and she says "He makes lovely cakes" (Gunesekera p65). It touched Triton as
if it was the greatest thing that could have been said to him, he says: "endearing herself to me for the rest of my life." (Gunesekera p65). Mister

Personal Narrative Essay On Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve 2014 was the last time I ever saw my great grandmother, June Oliver. In this essay I will refer to her as "Nannie" as everyone called her.
On the cold evening of Christmas Eve, we were all at my uncle Jim Randy's house for a Christmas celebration. Everyone was cheerful, except for my
cousin Jay, who was angry that the Dallas Cowboys were losing on TV. I never was a person to hug myfamily but on that night, I did. We all huddled
around and took pictures with Nannie. She was such a happy person especially during the holidays because she was surrounded by family. She
always felt lonely living alone since she divorced her husband, Leo Oliver. She moved in with Jim Randy to feel less alone, especially since her health
wasn't the greatest.
On December 27th, 2014, I was in my basement watching animated comedy shorts on YouTube called Cyanide and Happiness with my cousin Ali.
Ali was from my mother's side of the family so he didn't know Nannie or any of those relatives. I received a call from my cousin Tyler, Jim Randy's
son. Since we were close I answered in casual form. I answered with "What's up?" to which I was met with a shaky voice, sniffling with tears asking
where my dad was. I ran up the stairs and gave the phone to my dad. After the conversation ceased, my dad returned my phone informing me that
Nannie had a stroke. I was devastated but I knew she was tough and would survive.
After three days of waiting and praying, Nannie passed away peacefully on the

Lithuania's Modern Culture
A typical American Christmas Eve consists of Santa Clause, reindeer, and presents, but have you ever been inquisitive about what it's like in other
countries and how it has affected their modern culture and history? Lithuania's modern culture is patriarchal in most homes, and it is an awfully safe
country for the most part, it has a very low criminal rate and most children grow up to be exceedingly organized and respectful overall. Several things
that Lithuania's culture comes back to is, how Lithuanians pray and who prays, the preparations made beforehand, and the food they eat. These all take
part in a role in Lithuanians lives today.
Prayer is incredibly important to Lithuanians, particularly on Christmas Eve. Various traditions go along with prayer before dinner. These show
Lithuania's communication and leadership of the man, all drawing back to their culture. On a clear Christmas Eve night, with snow covering the
ground, when the first star is seen in the sky it is time to feast. If it is too cloudy for stars, the man of the house decides when it is time to eat
dinner, which shows a patriarchal society in Lithuania. Also, a lot of times the father of the house says prayer, giving thanks and asking if God
will let them be with each other next year as well. At a typical table, one would see a bowl of apples set out. The wife of the host will cut up an apple
and give the original piece to her husband to symbolize Eves giving to Adam in the Garden of Eden. Prayer is

Christmas Eve
The holiday season means different things to different people, but for most it 's a time of happiness and joy. And it means another year has slipped
through people 's fingertips, but that 's not exactly what it means to me. It 's a time of everlasting childhood, exuberance, and selflessness.
Christmas Eve, such a wonderful words to hear. Especially this particular Christmas Eve. There was a chill passing by, the twinkling stars cascaded
across the black sky. Everything was untroubled and tranquil except for the shrieks of children, clinking of glasses, hushed mumbles of parents,
undying laughter, and benevolent goodbyes. Christmas Day was all to close it was only one hour and thirty minutes away. The drive home was
unbelievably interminable, rows of symmetrical houses all tucked away for the night. Only little green and red lights glimmered around trees and the
outsides of house, mocked those of us still out and about saying
"Santa Clause only comes to those tucked in bed."
Before the car even came to a complete start we dashed up stairs like lighting bolts, long blonde and brown hair airborne behind us, to see who
could change swifter. I arrived back down stairs within the minuet in my penguin footie pajamas only to see my sister trailing behind me, running her
hands along the cream colored banisted caressed in pine green garland speckled in brilliance, immense red bows clinging by a thread. I proceed to
make the reindeer food, four cups of oatmeal, whatever glitter is

Christmas Eve: A Dialogue on the Incarnation
It was the night before Christmas, a quite winter night, the snow falling softly through the sky like a feather falling through air. Aristotle, Augustine,
Thomas Aquinas, and Brian Nowak, were on a stroll though the lights in the neighborhood. The LePain's left Brian in charge of the guests making sure
nothing happen to them while they are out at a Christmas party. As the four of them arrive back at the house, the fire appears to be blazing, while
Macduff, Dante, and Beatrice lay in front of it to keep warm.
Brian: On our walk, we saw a statue of Jesus Christ, what do you think the significance of God becoming Man?
Aquinas: The incarnation of God is more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paul says that "The foolishness of God is the wiser than men" (I Corinthians 1.25) If you are foolish your not wise/ vice versa. The lowest God is still
higher than any man is.
Brian: Well do you believe that Man and God can have a friendship?
Aquinas: The friendship between God and man should be very intimate, it was helpful to man that God should become man, for by nature man is a
friend to man. Friendship consists in certain equality; beings that are most unequal cannot be joined in friendship. When we saw Jesus Christ today,
and you got so excited, this is a very typical flaw (SCG IV, 54). "By seeing God visibly, we are caught up into the love of what is visible (Preface of
the Mass for Christmas)"
Brian: Well do you believe that the incarnation ever happened?
Augustine: When I was trying to figure out the goal, I turned to "those books". They allowed me to see the goal and allowed me to understand
what the goal was. However, it was the books and the words of God that showed me a path for me to reach the goal of God. If I did not have the books
of God, I would be searching for the path of God, however, without the incarnation, we would have no idea when we reached our full happiness. Do

A Comparison Of The Holidays In Thanksgiving, Christmas...
While holidays have often been criticized as ploys to push consumerism on to the public, they have also been widely recognized as a reason for
families to come together and interact with one another. These annual interactions often repeated certain behaviors, thus they serve as guidelines for
how the family should operate during future holidays. To gain a better understanding on the connection between family identity and family rituals, I
decided to interview my father on his Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve traditions. During my interview with my father I observed that the
holiday rituals present within his family have contributed largely to the way he perceives his family identity. Through this paper I will be using content
from the interview regarding traditions for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve, as well as other academic material to analyze how holiday
traditions contribute to my father's perception of his family identity. To begin, when I asked my father to describe the essentials to his ideal
Thanksgiving, the first thing he mentioned was the preparation of traditional ethnic foods. He went on to detail foods such as candied yams, macaroni
and cheese and spiraled honey ham. By my father listing these ethnic foods as essential to an ideal Thanksgiving, it shows us that his ethnicity
contributes to the way he believes the family should function during the holiday. Another detail that he mentioned as important to his ideal
Thanksgiving was the

Narrative Essay On Christmas Eve
What do you and your family do on Christmas Eve? Do you consider what you do a tradition or maybe even a basic tradition? On Christmas Eve,
most families end the night watching a Christmas movie or maybe baking some cookies. But my family does not necessarily go by that. Around ten
o'clock my cousins and I gather around the top of my grandparents stairs, waiting for a knock on the door or the sound of bells with our Christmas
onesie on. Every year "Santa" pays a visit to my grandparents house with gifts for everyone. Once we all get a present we open it up at the same time,
I never saw anyone frowning. I enjoy how my family tradition is still alive and brings everyone together, and I hope this tradition will be carried on to
my own children.
So who is this Santa?? Well really no one knows besides the parents. Let's just say my family knows a guy. Now that I am no longer a "young one",
sitting on a unknown mans lap and him telling you how much you have grown since the last time he has seen me is just a little creepy. But besides
that it is mainly focused on how everyone still follows this tradition and how my family still gets into it. My grandparents are the ones to organize the
night out. That includes food, the names for secret santa, pictures and of course having santa stop by with a special delivery. So knowing my
grandparents put so much effort into it making sure it is a memorable night for everyone, makes me realize how important the tradition is to everyone.

My Personal Experience Of A Christmas Eve Day
On Sunday December 24, it's Christmas Eve. So we did our daily routine and we got ready for Christmas Eve party. The party started around 6:00.
We had apple cider, chips, Indian snacks/food, and other good stuff. After the party, we played a game. We played playing cards. We played Uno. It
was really fun.
On Monday December 25, it Christmas. I know a lot of people open their presents in the morning, but that's not what we do. We do our daily routine
and get ready. After we all get ready, then my sister and I opened presents and celebrated. I got clothes, sock slippers, jewelry, comb, and makeup. My
sister and I are so thankful of what we got. After we opened the presents, we played a game. We played Carrom. Carrom is a board game where there
are 9 black coins, 9 white coins, 1 red coin, and a striker. You're trying to shoot the coins into the goal with a striker. So if I was white coins, I have
to shoot all 8 white coins into the goal. Then there is 1 white coin and 1 red coin. So I have to shoot the red coin into the goal an if I make it, I have
to shoot my white coin. If I make that, the game is over and I would win. If I made all 8 white coins and have to shoot the red into the goal and if I
don't make the red coin into the goal, than I have to put that coin in the middle. If the other person shoots the the white coin, than the game is over and
I would win. If they shoot the white coin in the beginning, than it's okay because they did it for you. You and your partner goes

Personal Narrative Essay : Christmas Eve At My Home
It is Christmas Eve at my home. I just hung up my stocking, and I had a fireplace for Santa to come. I knew it would not be long before Santa
Clause come. He has to come because it is Christmas Eve. He always comes on Christmas Eve. Every Christmas Eve, my mother lets me open one
or two presents. She also reads us a Christmas story. This Christmas Eve, I wonder what Santa Clause is doing at the North Pole as I read the
Christmas story. However, I wish I could go see Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause at the North Pole. I want to see how they look, how they feel, how
the north pole look like, and how their house look and feel like. I really want to go see Santa Clause, but I feel uncertain if I should go. I told
myself that he would come, and Tiny Voice asked me what did I wish for. I told Tiny voice that I wanted to go to the North Pole to see Santa
Clause and Mrs.Clause. Tiny Voice told me that I could go to the North Pole. Then Tiny voice handed me a pair of shoes and a light. At first, the
shoes look like they did not fit. I slipped on the shoes, and they fitted me perfectly. As soon as I put the shoes on, I went up the chimney. I saw Jack
Frost and the Star Beams busy working, trying to make the world look beautiful for Santa. Away I went, getting higher and higher. I was so high, I
probably looked like a star in the sky. Maybe, I looked like an cloud in the sky. The bizarre part about my adventure to the North Pole is that I seem
to know the way perfectly. I always went north. Never making any turns to the right or left. In my heart, I begin to feel like I was almost to the
North Pole. I began to feel excited as I saw a bright light around me. My heart made me begin to make me feel happy and excited. I started feeling
like I wanted to sing and laugh. I saw a path, so I followed the path. The path leads up to a big house with many windows. When I got up closer to
the house, I saw many candles in the windows of the house. The candles were red, green, and yellow. I knew right then that those were Christmas
candles to light my destiny. It was the way for me, and it told me that the house was Santa's house. Just as I neared the steps and knock on the door, the
door opened. A

Elfland: A Short Story
It was just a few days before Thanksgiving, and the first train load of Christmas request arrived early in the afternoon. Children from all over the
world had written Santa a letter telling him what they wanted for Christmas. The elves working in the post office take great care to open, read, and
catalog what each child wanted. Each of the elves selects a letter for Santa and his wife to read. With the volume of mail they receive, it would be
impossible for Santa to read all the letters. Reading through the letters and checking the request list Santa and Mrs. Clause realized that the things the
children wanted are getting bigger and heavier. Unlike in the past when the boys wanted roller skate's baseball gloves and toy cars. Little... Show more

around the world." "However, the requests this year are for larger and heavier gifts." "So much that we may exceed the load limit of the sleigh."
Santa continued saying, "We only have the one sleigh, and the one group of flying reindeer." Looking straight at the wizard Santa asked, "I was
wondering, do you have a special powder, potion, or anything that we could use to make the toy and gifts lighter?" Taking off his red cap, Sylvester
scratched his head, putting it back on his head it with the bill now pointing to the back. Cocking his head to the left Sly looked up at the ceiling, down

Personal Narrative : A Christmas Eve Day
All I remember on a cold Christmas Eve night was the sound of frantic yells and shattering glass. It all started with a small festive gathering at my
best friend's house. As the smell of freshly baked cookies lingered in the air, I received a call from my worried mother asking me to come home.
However, I was not a licensed driver making the situation harder. After making several phone calls to find a ride home, my best friend's boyfriend
offered to take me home in his brand new 2014 Dodge Challenger.
Trying to escape the cold, we rushed into his preheated car. My best friend was the first to take thewheel; she took us on a narrow back road. Like a
rollercoaster, it had several steep hills going up and down. After taking a few trips on this road, my best friend's boyfriend wanted to give it a try.
What was originally a 20 mile per hour road became a speed track for him. My best friend and I were desperately yelling for him to slow down, but
it was too late. The second we came of the hill, he stomped on his brakes and lost control of the wheel. While the car soared through the air, I hit my
head on the roof causing me to be unconscious.
Waking up covered in broken glass, I could hear sirens wailing and my best friend screaming my name. Everyone was out of the car except for me. The
car had landed on its side and it was the side I was sitting on. It was hard to move because my foot was stuck under the passenger seat. I yelled for help
because I was in excruciating

animals. In the spring and summer months, it is green and active with wild life. In the winter, the village and the forest are covered with snow. Kris

Personal Narrative Essay : Traditions On Christmas Eve
Back when my great grandma was alive, my family started a tradition. This tradition was making popcorn balls and sugar cookies every year for
christmas. Now this tradition has been going on for many years, up until a few years ago.
My grandmother and grandfather were supposed to come over on Christmas eve to stay the night at my family's house. On Christmas eve morning, it
had snowed so much, my grandparents couldn't even back out of their driveway. They're too old to shovel the snow, and the roads were icy. In the end,
my grandparents were stuck at home and my family didn't get to see them.
Although everyone was disappointed, I feel like it was okay because everyone still had someone to spend the night with. For me that was my family,
and for my grandparents that was each other.
When the morning time came, as usual, snow feel, people woke up, it was as normal as any other day. I woke up around 9 and was given good news
that my grandparents would be here around 11. I stayed in my pajamas and played on my phone on the couch.
When my grandparents got to my house, we brought in the gift they brought and the food, setting it on the counter. Everyone gather around the living
room and opened our presents. Later we ate clam chowder and ham for breakfast. Although we only got to spend the day together i had this feeling
the whole time, almost like i was safe and protected. It's a feeling I only experience Christmas time, and something I will cherish forever. I feel as

The Death Of A Christmas Eve
"I was going to propose on Christmas Eve." Those are the chilling words of Jason Befort to HG when he knew that he probably would not make it
past that night. Reginald and Jonathan Carr broke in and tortured five victims with the intent of killing all in 2000, leaving only one survivor
(Kovalchik). The Carrs were sentenced to death in 2002, but three of those capital murder sentences have been overturned since. The Supreme Court
heard the case on the seventh of October in 2015. The Carr brother case has shaken the nation for what it is, through the defenses and issues in court,
and where the case will go next. On December 15, 2000, 22–year–old Reginald and 20–year–old Jonathan Carr terrorized, robbed, and assaulted
Heather Muller, Aaron Sander, Brad Heyka, Jason Befort, and a woman called HG with an unspeakable malice. The Carr brothers forced the five
victims to undress and then began to beat the males with golf clubs while taking turns assaulting the females. The brothers then proceeded to force the
five to empty their ATM accounts. After they had drained their victims' bank accounts, the Carr brothers transported the victims to a frozen soccer
field and then shot them down execution style. HG's barrette deflected the bullet and saved her life. Sadly, she was the only survivor. She made her
way through the bitter cold, naked, to get medical help and start the search for the killers. These crimes are often referred to as the "Wichita Massacre"

Art Analysis: Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve is a landscape oil painting housed in the George Innes collection at the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey. This piece, created in
1866, is displayed on a square canvas with unspecified dimensions. The painting is set on a grassy terrain broken in half by a frosty dirt path that
leads toward a forest. A black figure is placed at the beginning of this path that is lined with a low stone wall on the right. Thesky is dark and cloudy,
but clear blue air surrounds the full moon present in the upper middle region of the painting .
The shapes are all free form and slightly blurred at the edges, no harsh lines are present. The painting exhibits a dull and dark color palette with a few
exceptions. Brighter shades, blue and white, emphasize the moon. Warmer shades, coppery reds, represent the moon's light reflecting off of the stone
partition. The paintings value is quite dark with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The contrast of dark cloudy sky to a bright and shining moon helps elaborate on it's motif as a 'beacon of hope'. The darkness of the figure paints
him as weary and in need of the presented beacon. The contrast between the dreary figure and the bright inviting sun further illustrates the promise of
relief that the moon is symbolic of. Furthermore the actual medium of art helps to strengthen the portraits storyline. If this was portrayed in the form
of a sculpture there would be less chance for optical illusion. The deception shading and placement create, is vital to making this scene seem more
spacious. Furthermore, this space is important to displaying a strenuous journey that looks endless from a spectators point of view. Oil on canvas is

Personal Narrative : Having A Perfect Christmas Eve
I was having a perfect Christmas Eve, I had just hung up my stockings making every single thing straight so when Santa slipped down the chimney
it would be perfect. While I was organizing Santa's cookies and milk I started to wonder, was Santa really real? Of course he was real because every
year on Christmas Eve he would leave me presents under the tree. I had also seen pictures of him everywhere down town when I was helping my
mama Christmas shop. He was also on all kinds of decorations and goodies.
Then I started hearing voices. I was really wanting to go see Santa and the voices were telling me to go find him. When I would talk to the voices
they would answer me back. When I said I wish I could go see Santa, his workshop, and ride in his sleigh the voice answered back and said, "Why
don't you go then?'' I tried to explain that I could not and that it was not that easy. The voice replied, "Just try on these Shoes, and take this Light in
your hand, and you'll find your way all right.'' The shoes fit just right! So I started on my journey. It was like I knew exactly where I was going. I
just wanted to sing and laugh, I was full of excitement. Then I seen a house at the end of a path. In every window there was a candle that lit up the
house. I knew it was a sign.

Santa Clause Personal Statement
I was in third grade when I stopped believing in Santa Clause. As I listened to my classmates describe the gifts they had received for Christmas, I
noticed that my friends from wealthier families got more presents than my friends from poorer families. After some reflection, I decided that the
only plausible explanation was that money, rather than elves, determined who ended up on the "nice list." I have always had a strong sense of
justice, but over the course of my life it has manifest itself in different ways. When I was in third grade it led me to give up my belief in Santa
Clause; and when I was in high school it drove me to volunteering with local nonprofits. During my time at Penn State, I set my sights on a new target:

Analysis Of ' I Love Christmas Eve '
I love Christmas Eve. Christmas is probably the time of the year where I am the happiest. The best Christmas Eve I have ever spent was with my
family and some family friends in the winter of 2014. It was the greatest because I spent it with the boy I was in love with at that time. The only
photograph that was captured that night of us was taken right before all the festivities started. We were setting up the music for that night and we took
a few seconds to snap a picture on the laptop webcam before joining the party. The picture highlighted my happiness and the joyful feelings I had that
night. In this snapshot it was close to our two year anniversary. The look on my face is blissful, content, in love– a look I always had when... Show

Nutcracker Arrest Time

  • 1. Nutcracker Arrest Time NUTCRACKER 1ST TIME On my way to Nutcracker to do my part of a castle page. I was so excited but so nervous about Nutcracker. Singing the music in my head. My parents were reassuring me. They were telling me you will do great. When I got there I had to sign in. Then I saw my fellow pages whose names were Little Lauren,Crazy Cassidy,Makeup Me,Kalm Kaitlyn,Kool Kathryn, and Marvelous Mackenzie. We went to warm–up. Which was so boring. But when we went up–stairs it was all fun. We had to wait in the hallway because the party girls went during first act and we went during the second act. We played games and talked and drew things. One time we said "let's practice all together." After the Party Girls left we got to go into the dressing room ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. 'Removal Of The Cherokees And Christmas Eve On Lonesome' There is one thing in life that is inevitable – death. This fact makes it hard to lose loved ones. After reading the short stories "Removal of the Cherokees" by Burnett and "Christmas Eve on Lonesome" by Fox, Jr. it is apparent that the main theme is loss. Throughout these stories, the characters' experience a loss of something that is exceedingly significant. The idea of losing someone you love is very agonizing. However, loss is an occurrence that everyone will eventually experience. Once experienced, people naturally have challenging emotions. The most common emotional effects of losing a loved one are shock, grief and hope. The most unforgettable and depressing moment in my life was when my Grandmother passed. I was young at the time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It took several months after my Grandmother's passing to look at the situation in a brighter light. My friends and family helped me see things I did not see myself. They helped me remember the good in the situation when I attempted to forget. At this point, I came to the realization that my Grandmother was in a better place. Much like I needed my family, the Cherokee Indians needed theirs in a time of grief. For example, in "Removal of the Cherokee," the Chief John Ross's wife died from pneumonia. The Chief had help to cope with his grief. He had the Indian tribe and private solider Burnett for comfort. Throughout the whole story, the Indian families stick with each other and grieve the loss of their land and freedom. In the end, the Cherokees made it through together and still had hope that one–day awareness would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Angela Simmons Research Paper Angela Simmons is a short, slender build, long brown headed, dimpled cheek eleven year old girl that loves to play with dolls. She is very intelligent, smart, active, and loves to play sports, especially soccer. Angela's favorite toy is dolls regardless of type or kind. Angela was good in reading, spelling, and math in school. Winter was her favorite season because that meant Christmas was coming. This Christmas in the year 2000, Angela received many dolls as Christmas gifts. She also received a bright red bike that had a basket and horn on it. Angela would load up all her dolls in the basket on her bike and ride up and down their driveway. Somehow the other dolls would always end up out of the basket. The other dolls' limbs would sometimes be missing. It was puzzling to Angela why things were happening to the other dolls and one of the dolls would always still be in tack and never fell out of the basket. As time passed, she began to favor one particular doll and she named her Isabelle. Isabelle was a red headed doll that had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After searching the house up and down; the keys could not be found. A locksmith had to be called to get keys replaced for the car. Later on that same day, the grandparents took Angela shopping. • 5. Summary Of Fish Cheeks By Amy Tan "Help and not fight. Assimilation and not destruction. Harmony and Peace and not dissension" were said by Swami Vivekananda addressing the Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893. Similarly, the essays "Fish Cheeks" and "We're Not..." from Amy Tan and Andrea Roman respectively point out that assimilation should not mean either or but instead a way to harmoniously co–exist by learning new and keeping the old traditions. This is discussed through the dilemma that second generation immigrants go through as their parents try to hold on to cultural values that contrast the social norm in the States. However, it is possible for immigrants to assimilate in the United States, and it's still able to maintain the heritage from the country they came from. Amy Tan's essay "Fish Cheeks" is a story about a teenage girl who is mortified at her ownculture. However, she wants to fit with American society. Tan falls in love with a white American boy Robert, who was a minister's son. Her parents decided to invite Robert and his family over for Christmas dinner. Tan was trying to fit in American culture because she did not want to look different. However, she wonders, "What would Robert think of our shabby Chinese Christmas... our noisy Chinese relatives?" (Tan 74). By repeating the word "Chinese" with negative words in front of it, like "shabby," and "noisy," Tan reveals her low level of pride in her heritage. She thinks her family is louder than they should be, that her customs are less valuable than those of the guests. Christmas Eve dinner for Tan was outlandish. In fact, Tan feels frustrated because of her Chinese culture: licked chopstick and digging into plates, eating cheeks and eye of fish, and belching loudly after finishing the dinner, she reacts by wanting "to disappear" (Tan 75). After the dinner, Tan's mother said to her, "You want to be the same as American girls on the outside." Also, she handed her an early gift, a miniskirt in beige tweed and said to her, "But inside you must always be Chinese. You must be proud you are different. Your only shame is to have shame" (Tan 75). Later, Tan realized that being an outsider is not a source of shame, but of pride. Also, Tan explains that she came to accept her ... • 6. Personal Narrative : A Short Story : Christmas Eves ' It was Christmas Eve, and I had just hung up my stocking by the fireplace–right where it would be all ready for Santa when he slipped down the chimney. I knew he was coming, because–well, because it was Christmas Eve, and because he always had come to leave gifts for me on all the other Christmas Eves that I could remember, and because I had seen his pictures everywhere down town that afternoon when I was outside with my Mother. Still, I wasn't JUST satisfied. 'Way down in my heart I was a little uncertain–you see, when you've never really and truly seen a person with your very own eyes, it's had to feel as if you exactly believed in him–even though that person always has left beautiful gifts for you every time he has came. "Oh, he'll come" I said;"I just know he will be here before morning, but some how I wish–" "Well, what do you wish?" said a Tiny Voice close by me –so close that I fairly jumped when I heard it. "Why, I wish I could SEE Santa Clause myself. I'd just like to go and see his house and his workshop, and ride in his sleigh, and know Mrs. Clause–it would be such fun, and then I'd KNOW for sure." "Why don't you go then?" said the Tiny Voice so close to me. "It' s easy enough. Just try on these Shoes, and take the Light in your hand, and you'll find your way all right." So I looked down on the Earth, and there were two cunning little Shoes side by side, and a little Spark of Light close to them–just as if they were all made out of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Christmas Eve Christmas is magical in the eyes of a child. At least, that's how it was for me. Every year, as the month of December rolled around, the lights were strung and the trees were set up, I sent my letter out with a hopeful heart that Santa would make an appearance on my doorstep on Christmas Eve. The December of 2008 was the year that I wished for an electric scooter. I mailed my wish list to Santa, knowing he would prevail and deliver that Razor electric scooter with a hand brake and fat tires. Christmas morning was perfect! Santa had brought me a plum colored, shiny, and fully charged electric scooter and my younger sister, Olivia, a hot pink one. They were perched on their small silver kickstands in front of our eight foot tree that was weighed down with years worth of homemade and souvenir ornaments. The scooters were free of a box or wrapping, just how Santa always brought the gifts. As soon as the all of the presents were ripped open and breakfast eaten, I pranced outside to test out my new ride. It was a crisp, wintry morning with gray skies. I cruised back and forth on the scooter in front of my house for hours, accelerating on the uphills and coasting on the downhills with the cold wind blowing through my tangled hair and my nose turning pink from the low temperatures. It was my absolute favorite present. Fast forward a few days, the Saturday following Christmas, and I was hiking up the red clay hill that began to incline as soon as you stepped off of our back ... • 9. Short Essay On Ham It's Thanksgiving week in the Premier League, but not everyone in the league may be feeling the holiday spirit. David Moyes' life with West Ham started the same way it did during his previous managerial tenure in the league – with a loss. There was so much disdain for the Hammers' 2–0 loss to Watford on Sunday, West Ham fans dialed the Essex Police Force to spew their grievances. Elsewhere, a 4 –0 loss to Chelsea last weekend cost former West Brom manager Tony Pulis his job, while Southampton produced yet another sorry effort in a 3–0 loss to Liverpool. On a brighter note, Arsenal earned bragging rights over Tottenham with a 2–0 win in last weekend's North London Derby, while Bournemouth remarkably smashed Huddersfield Town, putting four... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Swans are two points away from safety and at risk of continuing their four–game league losing streak. Swansea have too often relied on Tammy Abraham, which has brought their struggles, while Paul Clement's job is truly at risk. With Cherries striker Callum Wilson in hot form, this should be a closely contested game. As for a shocking result, Manchester City or Arsenal could experience the designation. City visits a Huddersfield side that has already beaten their neighbors, Manchester Untied, at home this season. With City not looking overly convincing in their last few games, this could be an excellent opportunity for David Wagner's Terriers to move up the table. Meanwhile, Arsenal will visit a Burnley side with excellent form this season, as both teams have 22 points in the table. A Burnley win could cement them as a true contender for the top 4. It's games like this that could be the difference in Sean Dyche getting a crack at the Everton job or a better team, so expect it to be a great contest. • 10. Movie Analysis : Movie Review : Forrest Gump Saniza Sunesara Professor Massie English 1301 October 12, 2017 Forrest Gump "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." However, when the viewers watch Forrest there is a lot of laughter and tears shed. Forrest Gump, the main character, is a simple, slow–witted man with a low IQ, but Forrest has good intentions. The movie which is also named Forrest Gump concentrates on Forrest through thirty years of misery, placing Forrest within historical events of history and in pursuit of the only love, Jenny. Despite Forrest's naive nature, Forrest lives anything but a restricted life. Forrest impresses everyone by some powerful football skills, fighting in Vietnam War, and by creating a business of shrimp fishing.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This film is a blend of different genres; the first one is romance. Romance is brought in by the main character Forrest Gump and Forrest's love interest Jenny. Despite Jenny's immoral behavior, Forrest still loves Jenny unconditionally, which demonstrates the real meaning of true love. For example, in one scene Jenny's boyfriend is abusing Jenny in front of Forrest and Forrest tries to help her, but Jenny refuses the help thinking that Forrest shouldn't have interfered. The second genre is drama. A dramatic movie shows the character influencing people or the main character himself being influenced. In some situations, Forrest influenced several people to do the right thing. It shows how a slow witted person can do so many things in life and still stand out as an influential figure. For instance, Jenny realizes that Forrest's love is real and they get married, but soon after a year Jenny dies of a disease. This is a perfect example of a dramatic sad ending, which left the viewers with eyes full of tears. While the acting won thousands of people's hearts, the visual effects were also just as good. For instance, Lieutenant Taylor, commanding officer who Forrest saved in the Vietnam War, lost both the legs due to some serious wound while attacking. Although in real life Lieutenant has legs, this scene did an exceptionally good job convincing people that Lieutenant had prosthetic legs. The legs were either hidden by using technology, or by bending ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. A Day At Christmas Eve : A Christmas Day It is Christmas Eve, 2011. Everything has been leading up to this. I had slumped through several excruciating advent masses where I spent my time tracing scratches on the church's pews. Just days before the tree was decorated by all of my family, as per usual. Decorating late is never a surprise; it's basically a tradition. On Christmas Eve, my built up energy from a past year of waiting for one day to finally arrive starts to overflow. As we enter the Christmas Eve mass, churchgoers shower with me with smiles and "aww!"'s as my shyly embarrassed seven–year–old self walks down rows of pews. I cradle my American Girl doll who flaunts the exact same outfit as me close to my chest. After seemingly an eternity, we leave the church. My impatience of the longevity of the mass fades, and anxious hunger takes assumes its roll. My family arrives at my grandparent's West Philadelphia home, awaiting a delectable meal including my all–time favorite, Kraft's mac and cheese. I get out of our minivan and skip along to the front door as I watch my breath swoosh and swirl around, mingling with the bitter pitch–black air. The usual smells of the house are evident––they never fail to be present––along with a mixture of pine–y, cinnamon–y Christmas smells created from a winter scent display my grandma lays out. My youngest brother and I, being the best of friends and the most annoying of siblings to each other, continue to be weirdos before dinner is ready. We make goofy faces and silly, ... • 12. Influence On Mexican Culture Being born into a small town in Texas where a heavy influence on Mexican culture applies to almost everyone. It makes me realized that food really plays a major part in identifying myself as a Mexican. Because the food, makes our culture unique. In addition, learning to make my very first ever batch of tamales made me realized that it was a memorable experience. It was early in the morning, and I had just woken up because I hear voices and objects being moved around in my grandma's kitchen. I got up from the bed and made my way down the hallway straight to the kitchen. Once I entered the kitchen I saw all of my aunts with my grandma kneading the corn flour. I just stood there by the wooden door and watched as my aunts would laugh and talk to each other while the kneaded the corn flour. It was a beautiful sight to see because of the sunlight that was coming in for the window was hitting their faces and making it look like they were glowing. I started to look around the medium size room and saw the big dining table in the middle of the kitchen leaving little space to walk around properly. I had walked into the kitchen, and all my aunts turned around and saw me standing there. My aunt Diana told me in Spanish "Come over and sit down and help us make tamales for Christmas dinner. It's about time you start learning our Mexican traditions." So I went and washed my hand before being able to sit down next to her and she told me to help knead the dough with them. • 13. Descriptive Essay On Christmas Eve Have you ever spent hours and hours making and decorating cookies only two days before Christmas? I have because every year on Christmas Eve my mom's whole side of the family comes to our house for a party. I get to see some cousins that I barely ever get see. We spend the whole day from sunrise to sunset together. Also, everyone brings food and it is so hard not to sneak some food before everyone eats. My family and I go to my aunt's house and our two families decorate enough cookies for everyone to have some. Last year I got to bring a friend and we had a lot of fun decorating cookies. Everyone loves the taste and the design of all the cookies because they are all different and delicious. We all spend time together then we eat dinner and we always leave snacks and desserts out and they are so good. We always have soft sugar cookies with frosting on them and usually we have someone bring brownies and they are so chocolatey they taste amazing and I can't keep my hands off of them since they are so great. • 14. Description Of Christmas Eve At Christmas Christmas Eve at Grandma's My grandma's living room, particularly at Christmas time, is one of my favorite places to be. Ever since I was young, I can remember going to my grandma's house on Christmas Eve and having the time of my life. Every aspect of Christmas Eve at my grandma's house gives me so much warmth and joy to think about. All the traditions, memories, and laughs that are exchanged on that one night, in that one room, every year, will always remain priceless to me. Growing up, I always sat in the same chair at my grandmother's house. It was an old off–white armchair with dark wooden legs. It always reminded me of the kind of chairs you see in old movies, where the fancy girl with too many scarves seems to sit. To the left side of the chair is an old wooden table that is showered with many small Christmas trinkets. At the bottom of the table, there is a small ledge where a singing Santa sits and an old bible with massive words lay. To the right side of the chair is an old television that probably weighs a hundred pounds, and is somehow held up by an even older television stand that weighs a quarter of that. Inside the front of the television stand, there are a few small Beanie Babies. All of which my grandma associates with each member of my family. In front of the off–white armchair, is the rest of the room. There is dingy hundred–year–old carpet with memories in every stain. There is dark wooden paneling everywhere in sight. The old murky striped couch sits ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Triton goes through many rites of passage moments throughout the novel. He perceives Mister Salgado's home as the "Centre of the Universe" (Gunesekera p). Triton regards Salgado as his mentor from which he learns and observes from, he says "So I watched him and I watched him unendingly, all the time and I learned to become what I am (Gunesekera p43). Triton was always captivated by Salgado's intellect and demeanour that he attempts to emulate him. He observes Mister Salgado as a gentle and "innocent" (Gunesekera p42) being. Triton was also observant about Salgado's relationship with Miss Nili. However, Triton's observations were limited to his own knowledge and understanding. He did not know Salgado and Nili on a private level. This creates a rite of passage moment for Triton as he realizes that he doesn't really know them. Triton lived in Salgado's domestic space; however, he was initially invisible as he says he is "only a servant" (Gunesekera p99). It was a beautiful sight to see because of the sunlight that was coming in from the window was hitting their faces and making it look like they were glowing. • 19. Personal Narrative Essay On Christmas Eve Christmas Eve 2014 was the last time I ever saw my great grandmother, June Oliver. In this essay I will refer to her as "Nannie" as everyone called her. On the cold evening of Christmas Eve, we were all at my uncle Jim Randy's house for a Christmas celebration. Everyone was cheerful, except for my cousin Jay, who was angry that the Dallas Cowboys were losing on TV. I never was a person to hug myfamily but on that night, I did. We all huddled around and took pictures with Nannie. She was such a happy person especially during the holidays because she was surrounded by family. She always felt lonely living alone since she divorced her husband, Leo Oliver. She moved in with Jim Randy to feel less alone, especially since her health wasn't the greatest. On December 27th, 2014, I was in my basement watching animated comedy shorts on YouTube called Cyanide and Happiness with my cousin Ali. Ali was from my mother's side of the family so he didn't know Nannie or any of those relatives. I received a call from my cousin Tyler, Jim Randy's son. Since we were close I answered in casual form. I answered with "What's up?" to which I was met with a shaky voice, sniffling with tears asking where my dad was. I ran up the stairs and gave the phone to my dad. After the conversation ceased, my dad returned my phone informing me that Nannie had a stroke. I was devastated but I knew she was tough and would survive. • 20. Lithuania's Modern Culture A typical American Christmas Eve consists of Santa Clause, reindeer, and presents, but have you ever been inquisitive about what it's like in other countries and how it has affected their modern culture and history? Lithuania's modern culture is patriarchal in most homes, and it is an awfully safe country for the most part, it has a very low criminal rate and most children grow up to be exceedingly organized and respectful overall. Several things that Lithuania's culture comes back to is, how Lithuanians pray and who prays, the preparations made beforehand, and the food they eat. These all take part in a role in Lithuanians lives today. Prayer is incredibly important to Lithuanians, particularly on Christmas Eve. Various traditions go along with prayer before dinner. These show Lithuania's communication and leadership of the man, all drawing back to their culture. On a clear Christmas Eve night, with snow covering the ground, when the first star is seen in the sky it is time to feast. If it is too cloudy for stars, the man of the house decides when it is time to eat dinner, which shows a patriarchal society in Lithuania. Also, a lot of times the father of the house says prayer, giving thanks and asking if God will let them be with each other next year as well. At a typical table, one would see a bowl of apples set out. The wife of the host will cut up an apple and give the original piece to her husband to symbolize Eves giving to Adam in the Garden of Eden. Prayer is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Christmas Eve The holiday season means different things to different people, but for most it 's a time of happiness and joy. And it means another year has slipped through people 's fingertips, but that 's not exactly what it means to me. It 's a time of everlasting childhood, exuberance, and selflessness. Christmas Eve, such a wonderful words to hear. Especially this particular Christmas Eve. There was a chill passing by, the twinkling stars cascaded across the black sky. Everything was untroubled and tranquil except for the shrieks of children, clinking of glasses, hushed mumbles of parents, undying laughter, and benevolent goodbyes. Christmas Day was all to close it was only one hour and thirty minutes away. The drive home was unbelievably interminable, rows of symmetrical houses all tucked away for the night. Only little green and red lights glimmered around trees and the outsides of house, mocked those of us still out and about saying "Santa Clause only comes to those tucked in bed." Before the car even came to a complete start we dashed up stairs like lighting bolts, long blonde and brown hair airborne behind us, to see who could change swifter. I arrived back down stairs within the minuet in my penguin footie pajamas only to see my sister trailing behind me, running her hands along the cream colored banisted caressed in pine green garland speckled in brilliance, immense red bows clinging by a thread. Aquinas: The friendship between God and man should be very intimate, it was helpful to man that God should become man, for by nature man is a friend to man. However, it was the books and the words of God that showed me a path for me to reach the goal of God. • 24. A Comparison Of The Holidays In Thanksgiving, Christmas... While holidays have often been criticized as ploys to push consumerism on to the public, they have also been widely recognized as a reason for families to come together and interact with one another. These annual interactions often repeated certain behaviors, thus they serve as guidelines for how the family should operate during future holidays. To gain a better understanding on the connection between family identity and family rituals, I decided to interview my father on his Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve traditions. During my interview with my father I observed that the holiday rituals present within his family have contributed largely to the way he perceives his family identity. Through this paper I will be using content from the interview regarding traditions for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve, as well as other academic material to analyze how holiday traditions contribute to my father's perception of his family identity. To begin, when I asked my father to describe the essentials to his ideal Thanksgiving, the first thing he mentioned was the preparation of traditional ethnic foods. He went on to detail foods such as candied yams, macaroni and cheese and spiraled honey ham. By my father listing these ethnic foods as essential to an ideal Thanksgiving, it shows us that his ethnicity contributes to the way he believes the family should function during the holiday. Another detail that he mentioned as important to his ideal Thanksgiving was the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Narrative Essay On Christmas Eve What do you and your family do on Christmas Eve? Do you consider what you do a tradition or maybe even a basic tradition? On Christmas Eve, most families end the night watching a Christmas movie or maybe baking some cookies. But my family does not necessarily go by that. Around ten o'clock my cousins and I gather around the top of my grandparents stairs, waiting for a knock on the door or the sound of bells with our Christmas onesie on. Every year "Santa" pays a visit to my grandparents house with gifts for everyone. Once we all get a present we open it up at the same time, I never saw anyone frowning. I enjoy how my family tradition is still alive and brings everyone together, and I hope this tradition will be carried on to my own children. So who is this Santa?? Now that I am no longer a "young one", sitting on a unknown mans lap and him telling you how much you have grown since the last time he has seen me is just a little creepy. But besides that it is mainly focused on how everyone still follows this tradition and how my family still gets into it. My grandparents are the ones to organize the night out. That includes food, the names for secret santa, pictures and of course having santa stop by with a special delivery. After we all get ready, then my sister and I opened presents and celebrated. I got clothes, sock slippers, jewelry, comb, and makeup. My sister and I are so thankful of what we got. After we opened the presents, we played a game. We played Carrom. Carrom is a board game where there are 9 black coins, 9 white coins, 1 red coin, and a striker. You're trying to shoot the coins into the goal with a striker. So if I was white coins, I have to shoot all 8 white coins into the goal. Then there is 1 white coin and 1 red coin. So I have to shoot the red coin into the goal an if I make it, I have to shoot my white coin. If I make that, the game is over and I would win. This piece, created in 1866, is displayed on a square canvas with unspecified dimensions. The painting is set on a grassy terrain broken in half by a frosty dirt path that leads toward a forest. A black figure is placed at the beginning of this path that is lined with a low stone wall on the right. Thesky is dark and cloudy, but clear blue air surrounds the full moon present in the upper middle region of the painting . The shapes are all free form and slightly blurred at the edges, no harsh lines are present. The painting exhibits a dull and dark color palette with a few exceptions. Brighter shades, blue and white, emphasize the moon. Warmer shades, coppery reds, represent the moon's light reflecting off of the stone partition. The paintings value is quite dark with the ... The darkness of the figure paints him as weary and in need of the presented beacon. The contrast between the dreary figure and the bright inviting sun further illustrates the promise of relief that the moon is symbolic of. Furthermore the actual medium of art helps to strengthen the portraits storyline. If this was portrayed in the form of a sculpture there would be less chance for optical illusion. The deception shading and placement create, is vital to making this scene seem more spacious. Furthermore, this space is important to displaying a strenuous journey that looks endless from a spectators point of view. Oil on canvas is also merited in that it allows for mystery. • 35. Personal Narrative : Having A Perfect Christmas Eve I was having a perfect Christmas Eve, I had just hung up my stockings making every single thing straight so when Santa slipped down the chimney it would be perfect. While I was organizing Santa's cookies and milk I started to wonder, was Santa really real? Of course he was real because every year on Christmas Eve he would leave me presents under the tree. I had also seen pictures of him everywhere down town when I was helping my mama Christmas shop. He was also on all kinds of decorations and goodies. Then I started hearing voices. I was really wanting to go see Santa and the voices were telling me to go find him. When I would talk to the voices they would answer me back. When I said I wish I could go see Santa, his workshop, and ride in his sleigh the voice answered back and said, "Why don't you go then?'' I tried to explain that I could not and that it was not that easy. The voice replied, "Just try on these Shoes, and take this Light in your hand, and you'll find your way all right.'' The shoes fit just right! So I started on my journey. It was like I knew exactly where I was going. I just wanted to sing and laugh, I was full of excitement. Then I seen a house at the end of a path. In every window there was a candle that lit up the house. I knew it was a sign. I walked up to the house and before I had time to ring the door bell there stood a boy. He had slender legs and a roly–poly stomach. It was not Santa but he did have a really jolly laugh. He ... • 36. Santa Clause Personal Statement I was in third grade when I stopped believing in Santa Clause. As I listened to my classmates describe the gifts they had received for Christmas, I noticed that my friends from wealthier families got more presents than my friends from poorer families. After some reflection, I decided that the only plausible explanation was that money, rather than elves, determined who ended up on the "nice list." I have always had a strong sense of justice, but over the course of my life it has manifest itself in different ways. When I was in third grade it led me to give up my belief in Santa Clause; and when I was in high school it drove me to volunteering with local nonprofits. During my time at Penn State, I set my sights on a new target: the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is one thing for a society to fail in this purpose, but it is quite another for one to militate against this cultivation. Locking people up will not cure drug addiction or mental illnesses. It will not reduce crimes of poverty, and it has not reduced crimes of violence. There is even some evidence to suggest that the negative economic effects of incarceration, coupled with the damage to family and community ties, may actually lead to more crime. Incarceration is a reaction to crime, it is not a solution for crime's underlying causes. The more I study the criminal justice system, the more viscerally I feel a sense of ... • 37. Analysis Of ' I Love Christmas Eve ' I love Christmas Eve. Christmas is probably the time of the year where I am the happiest. The best Christmas Eve I have ever spent was with my family and some family friends in the winter of 2014. It was the greatest because I spent it with the boy I was in love with at that time. The only photograph that was captured that night of us was taken right before all the festivities started. We were setting up the music for that night and we took a few seconds to snap a picture on the laptop webcam before joining the party. The picture highlighted my happiness and the joyful feelings I had that night. In this snapshot it was close to our two year anniversary. The look on my face is blissful, content, in love– a look I always had when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We had always talked about our dreams of becoming doctors together, our dreams of traveling together, and our dreams of growing old together. But not everything in life goes as planned, especially if you are a teen blinded by adolescent love. Our families did everything together. We were a team and I thought it imperishable. But I guess that's why they say teen love hurts, because it's a roller–coaster of emotions on steroids. Our hormones and feelings are going at 100 miles per hour and we can't control our various emotional moments of joy, rejection, feeling loved, shame, or feeling left out. After that confession everything changed and he became a truer version of himself and I experienced my first heartbreak which helped me blossom and grow as a person. We will never go back to how it was before, but I will always treasure our memories together, and of the snapshot of the last Christmas we spent together. We talked for a few hours and it helped me understand him and countless of other teenagers in the LGBTQ community that are going through the struggle of being accepted in society. He was deeply afraid of coming out. Our generation tends judge and criticize our peers without knowing what their true story is. We can be cruel when we choose to not accept a person due to their looks orsexual orientation. • 38. Essay On Open Presents It was an early Christmas morning, I could smell the sugar cookie smell making its way through my house. I could only think of one person that could make this happen, my Abuelita. "Grandma" I shout from my room as she was in the kitchen. I wanted cookies so bad before opening our presents. But we wait for my dad to come from his house before opening presents. My little brother came into my room and pounced on me like a cheetah hunting a gazelle to wake me up. I didn't want to leave my bed and open presents without my dad, so I made them wait till he arrived. He's not good on time, so he was twenty– minutes late from expected time. I hear a knock at the door, my dad had finally entered. At last, my brother finally stopped nagging at me. It was time to open presents.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
