2. EDEN
EDEN’s website is incredibly simple, with a textured black background and a relatively small amount of
content. The main page gives links to social media pages and information about his most recent tour as well
as his merchandise store. On the tour information there is also a small section displaying his music. The
typography is white, central and all caps making it seem important. The all caps is part of his style as his
name is always shown in all caps on services like Spotify and iTunes. The website seems quite disconnected
and non-personal due to the lack of a photos page and simple style, but this is contradicted by the personal
message about his tour thanking fans and his team.
3. Tame Impala
Tame Impala’s website is significantly different than EDEN’s with a white background and a bright word art
band name. The content provided is a home page with band news, biography with information about the
band, tour info, a display of all their music videos, a merch store and a contacts page. The typography is
black and thin with capitals for small bits of information and lowercase in the biography. There is not a strong
image of the band representation of the badn through the website, it seems to be purely for utility. There is
also very little correlation between recent album art and website style, apart from the same band name font.
4. Sons Of The East
Tame Impala’s website shares similarities with both the EDEN and Sons Of The East websites. The layout of
the website is similar with home, news, tours, about, videos, merch and contact pages to the Tame Impala
website with the addition of a photos page and a page showing ways to access their music online. The
stylisation of the website is similar to the EDEN website with a black background and white text. However, the
SOTE website has photos of the band behind each page title, and the text is aligned to the left. The addition
of the photos on each page, photos page and the pictures themselves showing the band relaxing and
having fun makes the band seem more human and relatable. The pictures are black and white in order to
maintain the colour scheme on each page and also seem more artistic. Website and album art share very
little similarities.
5. Shared Conventions
Titles of each page in all caps to show importance
Display of upcoming & previous tours (big part of what an artist does)
Merchandise page (major source of income)
Social Media links, very important in modern times with social media
being the main source of publicity
