2. • Based on the feedback I received, I improved both my CD Covers.
• For my front cover, I changed the ‘Fun’ to a yellow colour as well as
enlarging the font.
• For my tray card, I coloured the bottom bit of the swing bar, the songs
are in a bigger font and spread out more.
3. The 3D type font of ‘Those
Youths’ stands out. The band’s
name is bigger than the album’s
name to emphasise they are new.
Also, that the attention should be
on them.
The band’s name ‘Those Youths’
highlights the young members
of the band as well as the target
audience.
Most of the cover is black
and white which is
common feature of
alternative rock albums.
The park behind the band
also symbolises the
modern and young side of
the band.
The ‘FUN’ is coloured in yellow
which connects to the song
titles on the tray card. The
‘FUN’ is also in capital letters
to show what the album is
focussed on.
The band are jumping and
happy to represent their
music style, as fun and a
care-free attitude.
The park will also link to the
music video.
The shoes are in colour in order
to add more brightness to the
front cover, and make it stand
out from other alternative rock
albums.
The female band member
is in the centre to show
her importance because
she is the lead singer of
the band.
The title of the album is also
linked to one of the band’s
songs
Front Cover
4. The yellow song titles are
more spread out and in a
good sized font. They are
bigger than the
acknowledgements
because the band is
focussed on their music.
The yellow ‘Those Youths –
Fun’ links with both the
front cover and tray card.
The yellow used creates a
happy and fun vibe.
The Interscope symbol is
also used on the side of
the album to show
acknowledgements.
The bar code is separate from the
design and usually in alternative
rock albums, it is in the corner to
prevent it from getting in the way of
the design.
Roger Alan Nichols and Nick Trevisick
helped produce one of Paramore’s
albums. This shows they have
experience of alternative rock albums.
The website of the band
is also included so the
audience can know
more about the band.
Interscope Records are
a record label which
have signed alternative
rock bands like Imagine
Dragons. Those Youths
are an alternative rock
band so would suit the
record label.
The black and white
remains to reinforce this
album as alternative
rock.
The red of the swings
also links to the front
cover.
