Beachhead Market Essay
[music] We're gonna talk about how to choose a beachhead market. That's very exciting. So you're in the whole ed–tech space and that's a burgeoning
field. But let's focus now on the process of how Maro and Tom chose a beachhead market and why that's important. A few points about first of all, it
was something that you and Tom had a passion about and you had some assets. Can you talk about Toms background and your background about
why this was such a good fit? We actually paid our way through school by doing private tutoring. So, that was part of how we made our livings and
actually had a background in the test prep space in particular and a knowledge of the customer that was really helpful to us to insert our craft in the
persona. So, we'd... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Part of why we picked test prep is that there are a set of customers in here who are already spending this money. So, we thought about okay we could
look for markets where people weren't spending any money on this problem. Maybe they didn't recognize that it was a problem. Or you could do a
place where people are already spending a lot of money and there's a lot of well–funded people looking to solve this problem we ended up going with a
market where there's already people spending money to solve this problem in a really clear way and as a result what we have to do is convince
people to use us in lieu of another service. Which has its own challenges as opposed to convincing people to maybe use a service that doesn't exist
where non action is the option. So, it's good from a beachhead market standpoint. It was something you're passionate about. There was money there
because they were already spending on other things. You had a strong value proposition and you knew how to get to the customers because you had
worked in the market before. This issue that you're focused on is now from our framework, is what's the competition. What's your competitive
advantage and there's where maybe we should talk a little bit about blended learning. Can you say what blended learning is and why that's a competitive

The Challenge Of The Australian Football League
Introduction
The Australian Football is one of the most popular sports among the people of Australia. Even the people who do not play football know about the
Australian Football League (AFL) which is the governing body of football in Australia. Majority of the people of Australia are big diehard fans of the
league and the respective teams they support. Because of its popularity the Australian Football League faces tough competition from other sports in
Australia. Other popular sports include soccer, national rugby league. The AFL takes every possible step to cater its audience and make their experience
with AFL a memorable one. It does research and provides them with best outcomes. In turn these steps provide them with greater understanding and
help them build long term relationships with the audience. All of this creates greater awareness of the sport and generates revenue for AFL.
Background of the Research
Most of the professional sports teams join together to form different leagues in their respective countries. The intention behind this formation of leagues
is to target fans and spectators through a media channel. The whole consumer market is made up of four groups. At first there are the fans and
supporters who provide support by attending the league matches or by following them through media. Then there are companies who buy the rights to
broadcast the matches. Thirdly there are communities who facilitate in building clubs with their support and at last there are

a) Trends and Projections Today's on–line travel market is succeeding because the companies are using a more software–centric, online business model
termed "E–commerce." This has become the popular avenue for businesses as it mirrors the ideas of mobility. The sheer amount of data available,
coupled with the advanced operating systems and social media platforms, have created new possibilities for E–commerce organizations. The
infrastructure of E–commerce has expanded into platforms such as peer–to–peer networking, crowd–sourcing, social websites, and mobile devices and
media. E–commerce trends are findings ways to incorporate every aspect of our daily lives into an online package associated with our everyday needs
(Fishbein, 2013). Following the invention of Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), primarily used by the airline, banking, and retail industries during
the late 1960s, the introduction of E–Commerce progressed towards a global enterprise design which incorporated commerce for web, mobile and the
business–to–customer and business–to–business models. Such designs became more useful as they increased the ability to manage and provide
powerful tools to aid potential customers with searching, merchandising, master data management, order management, and web content management.
Such designs present a great benefit to companies because the platforms make

Argumentative Essay On Hurricanes
I have this ticket in my hand and to the outside world that is what it looks like–– just a ticket. To me, however, this ticket means so much more. This
ticket is a key. This ticket will open the door for me to help those people who are in need. This ticket will illustrate for me why it is important to
think of others before yourself in a world where it is so easy to be egocentric. With this ticket I will travel not to far from where I am now to Rockport,
Texas. This area is one that is in desperate need at this time. It has been rocked by one of the most detrimental hurricanes the United States has seen in
awhile which is hurricane Harvey. I chose this area to go to, because unlike Houston, it has not gotten the television coverage and has not received as
much money for reparations either. This is a small town that has seems to have gotten brushed under the rug even though people there lost homes,
schools, places to eat and shop, and places that held some of their sweetest memories and they need help. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether that be helping someone sort through the mud and dirt that is their house in order to find what is salvageable, rebuilding houses for people,

these people that have lost everything, but at least I can try to help them find some kind of normal in this time of pandemonium and chaos.Simple as
that, I will help people feel better about the awful situation that they are enduring at this time. I would think that viewing these situations and the
catastrophic damage would change me somehow. It could teach me lessons about empathy or why it is so important to enjoy the good times in life–

Who Is The Same Old Thing Every Day?
It was the same old thing every day. Wake up, get myself ready, get my kids ready, take them to school then off to work. Not that I hate my job but it's
not the best job. Being a waiter at a diner in 1984 doesn't pay well and being a single mom doesn't make it any better. Well I can't complain too much
because it all I got. "Mary!!!" screamed my boss Mr. Glen "get in here!!" I slowly crept into his office and shut the door. "Take a seat Mary" he said
comely. "Yes?" I said nervously. "Well you being late every day is starting to effect business. "I'm sorry sir but I can't help it I have no car, I have to
walk my kids to school then walk to work". "Well Mary it's not my fault either but I'm going to have to let you go". I could feel my face getting hot, I
felt like I was going to cry. "But sir..." "No buts Mary here's your last check." I grabbed the light envelope out of his shaky hand and slowly walked
away hoping Glen would change his mind. But he said nothing. I walked out on to the cold air and used $.15to buy a newspaper. I sat on the cold
meatal bench looking for jobs in the newspaper, but all of the jobs were farther away than the diner. I could feel the tears rolling down my face
asking myself, what am I going to do? How am I going to feed my kids? I know it was a stupid idea but I ran across this modeling contest and the
winner gets 50,000! Am I beautiful enough? I asked myself. The auditions are May 15–20. And its April 13th so in about a month but how am I

Speech : An Informative Speech
I.Attention Getter/Event Significance: Thank you for all joining me today to accept one of the most prestigious awards out there, the "Most Likely to
be Late Award." It is truly an honor and believe I am very well deserving of this award more than anyone in this classroom.
II.Speaker Relationship: As one of the premier students in the history of being late to any function possible. You could even say I'm like that guy who
comes to the Halloween party on Christmas Day, (simile) not that bad but you get the point.
III.Theme Identification: Although many of you may not know this about me, my car has witnessed (personification) hundreds of late occurrences and
saved me from many as well. Today, I will share some of my most memorable moments (alliteration) of my late tendencies from recent years.
Transition: I wasn't always known as the person who was always late, it really blossomed around high school.
Body
I.High school saw the high points of my late career thus far.
A.It was almost every day I struggled to make it to school on time.
1.I don't know if I liked the challenge or was just plain stupid.
2.Looking back on it, it was just plain stupid.
B.I was arriving to my first class of the day either right on time or a few minutes late.
1.Each student was allotted six tardies for the semester, I was plenty past that mark but my teachers were lenient a few too many times which didn't
result in me learning.
2.Talks with the principal or superintendent happened from time to time as well.
C.Even basketball practice, I was usually the last one to make it out of all my teammates.
1.In my defense, we were all late because basketball practice began five minutes after school let out.
2.Granted, I have crappy ankles which tend to roll so I was always in the locker room tying up both my shoes and ankle braces.
D.I was also honored before this award in the yearbook, where I was given the title of "Most Likely to be Late" along with another student.
1.To make this title even better, both my classmate and I had no idea where we were supposed to get our picture taken resulting in us being late and
not getting a picture at all.
2.There lies a blank picture with our names and the title.

A Guide for the Ultimate Vacation
We've all dreamt about our favorite getaway vacation at the ultimately lowest price possible, but have we ever achieved it?? The next couple of
paragraphs will give you some insight as to how to get the best vacation possible at the lowest price.
The first step is choosing your destination. Choosing your destination might not be a big deal if you already have your mind set on where you
would like to go. If you have many options to choose from, here are some tips to narrow your options. Once you've narrowed down your destinations,
research your top three or four preferred spots. Find out when the ideal time to would be, or when it is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Something that was recommended for me to do was go to setting on your internet page, click 'Cache Operations', click 'Clear Cookie Cache' and
'Clear History'. This will clear the computer's memory of your searches and you're guaranteed the lowest possible price, according to computer techs.
Besides, what've you got to loose?
The third step would be to reserve the hotel. For reserving the hotel, the same steps that applied for the flight, can apply here. If traveling with a
group of people on a budget, you have to be aware of the fact that hotels will not charge for a group of 2–3. Anything more than that and you will get
charge for each person. To get the most for your money, reserve a hotel that is close to all the main attractions, that way, if everything is within walking
distance, you will not have to spend money on extra transportation or gas and that would put extra money in your pocket.
The final step would be: save, save save! Saving money is essential to any vacation. Research how much the main attractions would be and estimate
how much you would spend on attractions, food, and transportation. Buying your airplane ticket and reserving your hotel early enough, will allow you
to save more money so that you can spend more. Try not to eat out as much, pack your own lunch. If possible, put off small one or two hour trips until
your vacation. The less you spend, the more you can save.
Lastly, the day of your

My First Concert
When an individual asks "What was a moment that has changed you forever", it can be extremely difficult to answer. Such a broad question brings
up many notable moments from an already large selection. If I could pick one that makes me smile every time I look back onto it. It would be the
first concert I ever went to. It was not only my first time hearing my favorite band live, but it was also my first time listening to live music. On top of
the already intense experience, I had learned something very important that day. Through the generosity of a very kind woman, I was able to
experience my very first concert. I learned that Generosity pushes beyond simple gestures and acts of kindness. It can leave a lasting impression on
any person, changing them for the better. Since then, reflecting on all the moments that still bring many laughs and memories I made that day only
assured me that I would remember it forever. Fatefully, on a Friday night, the day before the concert, I was currently on the computer at my house. I
received a text around seven o'clock at night. One of my friends had texted me, saying that they were outside my house. As I went to the door, I saw
that my friend, along with five other people I knew were standing there. "Want to go to a concert tomorrow? Alt–J is playing" one of them said as they
came inside my house. At first I was confused and caught off guard a little. Perplexed at the situation, I still said yes. However, this concert

played at the indicated movie start time before the actual movie starts. There is also the issue of whether the number of disgruntled moviegoers is
larger or greater than 10%, which would determine whether or not there is great reason for the complaint. Lastly, there is an ethical issue of whether
or not it is or is not ethical to play 20 minutes of commercials without informing moviegoers that they will be played. In order to evaluate these issues,

Ergonomics Is A Scientific Discipline That Deals With...
Ergonomics is a scientific discipline that deals with the research and understanding between the interaction of humans and other elements of a
socio–technical system. It involves conducting research into human: social, psychological, physical and biological characteristics, and using this
information to optimize human performance, safety, habitability and health with regard to the design and evaluation of tasks, products, environments
and jobs in a performance system (James H. and Stramler, 1993) to make them compatible with humans abilities, needs and limitations. The ergonomics
discipline promotes a human–centered and holistic approach to system design, which considers physical, cognitive, social, organizational,

According to Carroll (cognitive view), there are two aspects of system design (Carroll, 1991). The first is "the process" of the design. Ergonomists
want to determine how it is that people devise new systems, and what individual/group factors were involved in making all the decisions involved in
the construct of a system (Paul R. Martin, 2011). Secondly, design requires innovation, and requires ergonomists to "proactively" supply empirical data
for the future design of systems, thus improving the levels of human performance and acceptance of new artefacts (Paul R. Martin, 2011). User–centred
design in technological innovation The concept of "user–centred design" was developed during the 1980 МЃs in the design of technologies (The
Oxford Handbook of Cognitive Engineering, 2013). The aim of user–centred design is to describe how a human will interact with a system from a
cognitive science view. These characteristics will then be shared between the cognitive ergonomists and engineers in the design process of new
systems. Six important aspects of technological system design (ticket machine): (1) Visibility This system is usually placed in an area, which is
crowded, and "busy", thus it must be easily seen. People in crowded placed are usually placed under stress. If the system isn't seen on first glance, the
user will rather go to the ticket desk. (2) Physical Design The look and shape

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved taking part in the cinematic experience. Every aspect of it, including purchasing my ticket, eating
buttery popcorn, and watching every trailer before the film completely and totally encapsulates me to this very day. So, it should come as no surprise
that at the ripe age of 21, I am currently working at AMC Southdale, a high–end movie theater in Edina, MN. There are certain perks that come with
being an employee at AMC that benefit cinephiles such as myself exceptionally well, including free tickets to the movies. Sufficed to say, when

movie, Cloverfield, an alien–monster movie recorded "shaky–cam"style (he has been very ambiguous on how the films connect...always and forever
keeping fans at bay). Even before the previews began, I was theorizing on whether or not there would be aliens, if John Goodman's character was telling

10 Cloverfield Lane was a highly anticipated film for J.J. Abrams fans once the well–kept secret of its existence was revealed (a characteristic the

trailer were both very ambiguous in nature and left the viewers with several unanswered questions. It turns out, this was the perfect way to watch the

Ticket Prices On The Sports Industry
Ticket Prices in the Sports Industry Why are tickets to sporting events so expensive? Ticket resale has been a concern to people who determine
ticket price as well as the fans. If tickets are too expensive to begin with, then there will be a lot of unsold tickets. If tickets are very cheap, they will
be purchased from the primary market quickly, and then sold on the secondary market at an increased price. Owners of sports teams and the league
should allow the market to control ticket prices. Ticket prices are based off the demand of the game, team, and league which has resulted in tickets
being sold at market value rather than face value. Ticket prices vary across the leagues as well as pricing strategies. Teams should continue to
profit–maximize by charging various amounts for tickets in order to charge the closest amount to first–degree price discrimination.
TICKET PRICE
Prices for a good or service is determined by supply and demand. For tickets to sporting events, there are a set number of tickets which means the
quantity is limited and set long before the season starts. The supply curve is perfectly inelastic at the stadium's capacity. This means that the marginal
cost is close to zero until the stadium's capacity is reached. Depending on where this quantity lies relative to the demand curve determines whether the
team will decide to sell out or have empty seats. If the team maximizes profits by not selling out, then the team will decide to have empty

Paperless Tickets
As a sports fan, what do you think of paperless tickets to attend a sporting event?
I believe paperless tickets are useful, considering that it provides a new, efficient, and alternative way to accelerate the process of validating your
ticket at a venue. I recently had an experience with paperless tickets when I went to the Knicks vs. Wizards games about two weeks ago. Before
attending the game I had the tasks of printing out the tickets that my friend paid for. On the TicketMaster site, the option paperless tickets pop up in
which we received our tickets via electronically. It definitely was a different process for me, as I have never obtained paperless tickets before, but the
process of obtaining the ticket was smooth. The ticket takers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is definitely bad on the venue and ticketing system, as what if the customer had some random emergency and needed to sell their ticket for they
cannot attend the game? This decreases the reputation of the ticketing system, as they do not value the customer needs. They also do not provide
different options other than transferring the ticket. In other words, ticket outlets like TicketMaster essentially own your ticket in which the customer is
not in control. This can also result in negative press for paperless tickets, as they do not allow refunds or the reselling of your

Concertgoers complain about the "convenience charges" as well as parking and facility fees that Ticketmaster tacks on, which can account for more
than thirty per cent of the cost of a ticket. Promoters worry that, as the top–grossing touring acts – the Rolling Stones, the Eagles, Paul McCartney,
Bruce Springsteen, U2, Madonna – get older, very few younger acts are popular enough to fill stadiums and arenas on the two–year–long tours that
superstar rock bands undertake. (Forty per cent of the seats at all Live Nation concerts go unsold.) Most galling to the four stakeholders involved in
putting on a concert – the artist, the promoter, the venue operator, and the ticket seller – is the loss of billions of dollars in revenue to the "secondary
market": the Internet–driven business of ticket reselling, in which ticket brokers and scalpers profit, while the people who take the artistic and
financial risks hardly participate at all. Bill Graham did not live to see "the future" become the live experience; he died in a helicopter crash after a
Huey Lewis and the News concert in Concord, California, in 1991. But if you go back to that night on Howard Street and try to understand what
Graham saw, it seems obvious that the success of rock shows will always be measured not in box–office revenues and beer sales but in the quality of
the party. Records are commodities; concerts are social

Essay about American Airlines Competitive Strategy
Evaluate American's 1992 announcement of a new rate structure:
a. What changes did American make?
American Airlines (American) made four fundamental changes to its rates. First, it moved to a four–tier rate structure; American offered first–class
rates and three tiers of coach: full–fare, 21–day advance purchase and 7–day advance purchase. Overall, it expected to reduce coach fares by 38% and
first–class fares by 20% to 50%. Though full fare coach prices dropped by about 38%, advance–purchase fares dropped by 6% when compared to the
advance purchase tickets already being offered. Through this fare structure, American also eliminated deep discount tickets. Second, American
eliminated the negotiated discount contracts of many large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Travel agents therefore are both positively and negatively impacted. Small business customers are positively impacted by the fare changes. Previously,
the higher full fare prices discouraged small business travel; small businesses would either decide against travel or incur the cost of a Saturday night
stay and purchase a reduced fare ticket. By reducing the full coach fares, small businesses will be able to purchase more convenient flights at more
economical prices. Large businesses, on the other hand, may be negatively impacted. Since many large businesses had negotiated discount rate
contracts with airlines, the new full coach fare may be higher than these negotiated fares. For large businesses that did not have negotiated contracts,
the fares will be lower than the previous full fare rate.
Leisure travelers overall will be made better off by the new fare structure. These travelers have more flexibility and can take advantage of the advance
purchase discounts and Saturday–night stay discounts. An exception to this is leisure travelers who had found "loop holes" in the old fare system by
using "creative ticketing" and waiting for deep discounts. These leisure travelers may pay higher rates because the deep discounts will no longer be
offered.
c. Why did each of American's competitors react to the fare changes the way they did?
Continental, Northwest and United Airlines intended to adopt part of the new fare system. Continental, because it is in Chapter

The Organisational Process Of Buying A Train Ticket
This essay uses technological determinism to analyse the organisational process of buying a train ticket. In particular, I will be looking at concepts
such as the rate of diffusion, the technological agency and also the views of hard and soft technological determinism. Smith and Marx (1998:14)
describe technological determinism as "the human tendency to create the kind of society that invests technologies with enough power to drive history".
This definition of technological determinism can be related to the process of buying a train ticket as this essay shows how organizations used technology
to make this process more efficient and as a result, changed the way that society buys train ticket, which became the 'norm' now. L&J (2004:617)
believe that technological determinism represent the belief that the progress of society is driven by technological innovation and this has an inevitable
path. Society will evolve and adapt to these new technological changes. The way that society has changed their ways of buying train tickets and how
they view buying it online is the way forward, can be best shown by the quote from L&J. Buying a train ticket has changed a lot in the last 15 years
especially with the introduction of the World Wide Web which changed the way society works and this essay focuses specifically on the collection of
train tickets after you have bought them and how technology has enabled us to do that.
There are two forms or two extremes of technological determinism

Scamming Plan Research Paper
My Scamming Plan "Drake had just hired me after I had left ExxonMobil. His dad had lent him enough money to start a proper company but this
was his last chance. He ordered me to find someplace in the Everglades to drill oil because there was a newspaper saying that the government had
bought the drilling rights for oil. My boss's plan was to find oil in the everglades and then the government would pay us a lot of money not to pump it.
After a few months, I had gotten a six hundred forty–acre lease from someone named Vincent Trapwick Jr. It was known as Section 21 and I had hired
some geologists to see if there was any oil in there. After months of ground testing, I had come to the conclusion that there was not enough oil in

I thought he had attacked Melton too so I wanted to get him back anyways. I went to his dad's house and I agreed that I was a tax collector because
he thought I was one. For some reason, he held my lips with a plier and his bird attacked me. I tried to run but he kept me hostage for a few
minutes. He finally let me go and I ran and took his son's backpack. I bought another butane torch from one of my favorite hardware stores. I then
put in in his bag and put it near a fire. Then, I said I "found" the backpack and reported it to the fire investigators. Even though I had gotten that
taken care of, I still had a few more problems popping up everywhere. A few months later, some of my pipes went missing so I got very angry.
Even worse, Melton had been assaulted again and the flags that marked where the pipes would be had been rearranged to spell the word SCAT.
Drake and I were getting very very annoyed. We decided to hire someone or get something to track whoever was doing this to us. We were in luck.
We found a dog handler who had a dog named Horace who was a trained manhunter. Horace sniffed the flags and looked like he was on a trail. He ran
away from us and the handler shouted his name. We reported the bad news to Drake

Perks Of Being An Au Pair
One of the perks of being an Au Pair is the ability to visit other cities and landmarks in your host country. Along with that, you can meet up with other
Au Pairs, share your experiences and make new friends.
A couple weekends ago, I met up with an Au Pair from France and we visited the Civita di Bagnoregio, shown below. It is an old Italian city with a
few hundred inhabitants and tourist shops inside. To get to it, you have to walk up a long bridge, which is also shown in the picture.
At the other end of the city is a trail and at the bottom of the trail is an orange fence. If you are lucky enough, that fence could be down and you can
walk over it and follow the trail to a small tunnel underneath the city. You can walk through that tunnel and down another trail that goes to the bottom
of the mountain. It's a lot of fun if you like hiking!

I didn't know that they could reopen, I did try to pull the latch on one door, but when it didn't open easily, I assumed it was locked.
Goodbye Train.
I didn't want to go back to the machine and try to figure out my card and I didn't want to go back to the ticket booth to the same lady and buy another
ticket. I called my host mom and informed her that I missed the train again. She then told me that there was a machine that allowed cash payments. If
only she had told me that the first time I called her!
I found the machine, bought my ticket, and boarded my train. No problems.
Quick tip: If you see this machine at the left, that is a ticket validation machine for trains. There is no sign that says "Validate Ticket Here!", they are

Overcoming Obstacles For Life 's Obstacle Course
Siddiqui, Aayan Narrative
Winning Against Life's Obstacle Course
"Nothing upon earth is without its difficulties! It is the secret impulse within, it is the love and the delight we feel, that help us to conquer obstacles, to
clear out new paths, and to overleap the bounds of that narrow circle in which others poorly toil." –– Johann Goethe. writer. Overcoming obstacles in
life is very important to developing a person. This quote from Goethe gives us many reasons as to why. It gives us joy, makes us a better person

Difficulties help us to improve ourselves and give us motivation to do better. A good example is the famous scientistDmitri Mendeleev. Mendeleev had
a very tough life. He had 10+ siblings and was the youngest. His father was a scientist, and had died. His mother had to make the living, and she
opened up an old classroom. Later that classroom was burnt down. Mendeleev's mom saw his potential and how successful he could be, so she took
him miles to a university in Moscow and pleaded for them to take her son. They refused, so they went to the same university that his father had
graduated from. They let him in, and as soon as they had agreed, she had died, knowing that she had completed her mission. This motivation to not
waste his mother's sacrifices fueled him to reach greatness. He formulated the Periodic Table. He enhanced himself mentally and had motivation from
the many obstacles in his and his family's life to do such great things. Benjamin Franklin, another good example, had to drop out of school when he
was ten years old because his parents couldn't afford to pay. He read voraciously, and became one of the founding fathers of USA, and invented the
lightning rod and bifocals. Such a massive obstacle motivated him to do better and enhance himself mentally. It's like having a rivalry with life.
Goals help us push our boundaries a lot. They help us become the best "us". They propel us forward and help us live life to the fullest. Sometimes,

What Is Stubhub's Success?
In conclusion, StubHub's current operation is effective but not as efficient with the different e–business platforms and improvement researched.
Currently StubHub's mission and vision align with current business operations but the company does not allow for different areas of improvement. The
examination of the ticket comparison tool for example will lead to a competitive advantage over different e–ticket sites as it allows customers be able
to examine different seats and features that retain value of the purchase. Another area of improvement that helps to align the e–business strategy is the
ability to offer different currencies as StubHub is predominantly North American based and only offers prices in American dollars. The site applies this
restriction which is not consumer friendly as it does not allow for the convenience of seeing the actual cost of the ticket without paying for the currency
conversion and fees.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
StubHub currently has increased verification methods for tickets to ensure that consumers are getting a certified ticket to attend events and not
purchasing illegally made tickets. Another aspect that StubHub has put into place to maintain at par with Ticketmaster is the aspect of allowing seller
to now virtually scan their ticket onto the site or uploading a PDF version which can be sent to the customer immediately after purchase for printing.
Due to new features that allow people to resell tickets on Ticketmaster have impacted the bottom line for StubHub as sales have dropped an estimated
10% as Ticketmaster has drawn more re–sellers therefore increasing the sales of resold tickets for them to

Descriptive Essay About My Dream Place
Standing in awe, I review the instructions on the paper ticket I hold in my hand: "1: Close your eyes. 2: Picture your dream place to visit. 3: Insert
this ticket into the ticket feeder." Following the instructions, my eyes close as I take a deep breath. What the one place I dream greatest about? I could
travel anywhere; there are so numerous places I had dreamed of visiting. Shifting through my thoughts, I accordingly choose somewhere I have
imagined for the longest time. I heavily exhale, opening my eyes as my ticket gets pulled into the feeder.
Impatience and excitement are overcoming in the silence as I wait. Suddenly a door appears and swings open. As I step through the doorway into a
blinding light, I almost lose my breath. A peaceful scenery of valleys and flowers appears. Walking down a rubble path in awe of the beautiful
creations, everything prevails more breathtaking than I ever imagined. A path leads into an alluring forest as trees cascade over like a giant archway.
A stream runs along the left side of the path and animals are not as frightful here as what I had known them to be before.
As I reach the end of the forest trail, laughter and music becomes louder; it is a town. Filled with hope, I begin thinking maybe I will see people I
once knew. Skipping down the trail a little faster, I approach a heavy wall that separates the forest and the town. Only a few people notice a new

Effects Of Movie Piracy
Pirated movies have grown over the last couple of years. You can see someone on any given weekend when you walk through the grocery store trying
to sale you a movie. Piracy is defined by Dictionary.com as, "the unauthorized reproduction or use of a copyrighted book, recording, television
program, patented invention, trademarked product, etc." Therefore, a pirated movie is when a movie is released without the owner or person that got
the material copy righted it knowing or consenting to the release. Movie piracy is unethical because it skews the box office financial numbers,
decreases the chance for sequels, and hurts the theaters, even though it does provide a means for people that are less likely to go to the theaters. The
movie box office ranks movies by how much it grosses in the theater over the span of time that it is in theaters. The span of time can be by day,
month, or year. However, we must first understand that when you watch, receive, or supply a pirated movie there is no money made by the production
company. For instance, the movie may have been seen by five thousand people but if two thousand people view pirated copies then the number reported
will be the profit brought in by the three thousand people. When you look at the numbers three thousand may seem large but when you think about a
movie ticket being nine dollars you will only be making $2.7 million of the $4.5 million that the movie would have made in the theaters. The money
that the movies make goes back

Seth awoke with a start. It was dawn and the dew on the glass panes had frozen in the night and left little crystals that looked similar to veins of a

He got up shakily and walked over to his window, and peered out. As he looked through the frosty window of the log andtimber farm hut, he found
himself wiping his breath from the window which traveled from his mouth as a cloud of vapor and came to rest on the window as a circle of fog. The

He only knew that his parents were dead, and nothing more of it than that. "Nothing, just tired." said Seth trying to stifle conversation, "I didn't

Legal Analysis Lee P. Cao and Louann P. Cao, v. Huan Nguyen and Nega Pham (1)A representation of fact was made; Through the duplex case, we
found a couple responding to an advertisement in which they had seen, which dealt with the sale of a living space. This space had been advertised
as a duplex, which by definition, entails that it would be a home that would be divided into two separate apartments where potentially two different
people(s) may reside. The representation of the property being a duplex residence was made. (2)The representation of the property being a duplex
was false; Although the residence for sale had been listed as a duplex, the property itself did not comply with the space necessary to fulfill a duplex
standard. Therefore, with this lack of space, the home did not uphold to the municipal code, which would legally accept it as a duplex. (3)The
representation was made recklessly without knowledge of its truth. From the advertisement and information given by the sellers, we find that there are
several factors when it comes to the question of whether or not the representation was made recklessly without the knowledge of its truth and as a
positive assertion. The sellers disclosed the information that the home had been previously divided and rented into a two family dwelling which
would lead one to think that it was in fact a duplex. Despite the layout of the home and reliance of fact from the previous ownership, now the sellers

Tuesday came around. On Sunday and Monday, I told all of my friends that I can't do anything with them over the next two months because I was

though we had an international airport in San Diego, we had to go to Los Angeles because that's the densest in terms of the people that work with
Mom. I dreaded long car rides. Mom said that it would be about forty–five minutes to get there, but as always, California traffic. I had butterflies in my
stomach when I heard about the flight, just not the car ride. "So Izzy, what do you want to do once we get there?" Mom asked. "Maybe we could
go sightseeing or ziplining through the woods!" I exclaimed. Just from that alone, my face lit up even more and a big smile was on my face. Soon
after that though, I felt like a kid that was grounded. I think my excitement had overridden my boredom because my eyes would close, then a bolt
of energy, or excitement, surged through my body, keeping me awake. The honks of the cars kept me awake as well. I love California for the waves
and the beaches, but the traffic and the busy streets are what get me. After the long hour, we finally found a spot where we can park our rental. Then,
we checked in through security and boarded the plane. The service people were one of the nicest people in the world. Since I

Economic Impact On The Company
Economic Impact:
Often in cases of bid rigging the amount of money that the company loses is often significantly higher than the if the contract had be awarded to other
firms. Given the number and costs of the change orders involved with this case, led to the final construction costs being almost $82,000 over the
average of all bids from other construction firms, resulting in TBB losing a great deal of money for the quality of the work performed.
Of this $82,000, $62,893 was withdrawn by Larkin Construction in the form of cash. A reasonable assumption with this money is that it was
dispersed to parties involved in the bid rigging scheme. Cash would be used (as opposed to ACH transfers) to conceal who benefitted from the bid
rigging scheme. These payouts ultimately are what increased the total construction costs, as the increased costs are to cover kickbacks to those
involved in the scheme.

Sorrowful Black Death is Not a Hot Ticket and Seduction and Betrayal
Toni Morrison and bell hooks share the same views on how white America envisions blacks. In bell hooks' essays " Seduction and Betrayal" and "
Sorrowful Black Death is Not a Hot Ticket" she focuses in on the portrayal of African Americans on thebig screen. In "Seduction and Betrayal" hooks
uses Spike Lee's Crooklyn to demonstrate how invaluable the life of a black person is. In " Sorrowful Black Death Is Not a Hot Ticket" she claims

hooks feels that in our culture a white life has more value then a black one; and therefore audiences are more willing to accept the worthlessness of
black life. hooks goes on to state, " There is collective cultural agreement that black death is inevitable, meaningless, not worth much. That there is
nothing to mourn" (100). Americans as a whole " do not take black life seriously" (hooks, 100). Through her review of Crooklyn, hooks is able to
reinstate her idea: white America sees blacks as worthless. hooks selects the movie Crooklyn to illustrate America's views on how worthless black life
is. In this film the mother dies, but the audience is not aware of this until the children are found discussing the funeral, " Carolyn's death is treated in a
matter–of–fact manner....We never see the family grieve" (hooks, 105). Instead of crying, the daughter throws up, again showing how even a family
member treats death awkwardly. The advertisements for this film even down play death telling moviegoers "' The Smart Choice is Spike Lee's
hilarious Crooklyn'" (hooks,100). The movie was presented as a comedy due to the fact that people would not be intrigued by a black death. hooks
feels that this movie was " directed towards mainstream, largely white, viewers" which would account for the nonchalant addressing of a black death.

Springfield Nor'Easters
Ticket Pricing Plan
When trying to determine the right price level for seats at the Nor'eastern minor league games, Buckingham should keep in mind that he is dealing with
a very price sensitive audience. The average income in Springfield is very low, since the city manly consists of working class households. This fact is
backed up by the survey that states that 94% of the respondents had a household income below $75,000. Therefore regular single tickets shouldn't be
priced to high and the overall pricing strategy should furthermore include generous discounts for certain categories such as students and seniors as well
as fairly cheap season tickets. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Families eat a lot, and are therefore big consumers of concession goods, which is one of the biggest incomes at a game. We want to attract people to the
games, and families with only one child (38 percent of the households) can with this ticket bring an "extra child".
The group ticket attracts people to come together, we want friends to bring friends to the games, maybe friend who normally wouldn't go to the game.
This would also increase the concession sales.
The survey found that people don't want to pay that much for each ticket if they buy a season ticket, that's why we have chosen the season ticket prices
that we have.
Since our prices are pretty low, and most people are not willing to pay much more for grand stand seating, we haven't made special prices for these
seats.
Break–even analysis
Buckingham assumption about concession sales is that it will be about 50 percent of the revenue. We also assume that 80 percent of the tickets for
each game will be sold. Of that, 15 percent are going to be students, 15 percent will be regular tickets, 5 percent senior tickets and 2 percent child
tickets. The sale of the season ticket, 20–game and the 5–game tickets are respectively 2, 5 and 11 percent. We assume that 20 percent of tickets sold
are family packages, and the last 5 percent is group tickets.
We know that total cost is 1,051,879 and total sponsor income is 46,000. With the pricing plan

Three different levels classify the seating in the Assembly hall. The first level is floor seating, the second level seating is about the first 30 rows,

The main thing that pops out with this state of affairs is the main objective. The symphony is attempting to interpret what has caused a fixed
degeneration in attendance. I'm not sure this exact survey on this evening at a free concert is the finest method to discover what the problem is. First
off, this is not the symphony's primary group of spectators; many of these people will not be attending another event, so their statistics shouldn't be
held so highly. Next, this group of attendees will not be answering questions relating to previous concerts and involvements that may have altered
over the years. The survey will be rather vain in defining a campaign or program to help out the rest of the year. We are dealing with two very... Show

As far as the parking goes, there must be a plan to offer a discount on public transportation with every new season ticket holder that signs up before the
next season. Also the next season should also have a series of mini packages of select concerts at a smaller rate. This would entice that group who
does enjoy the symphony but would have been most likely to have responded to the price issue on the survey.
The major weakness in the survey was not targeting the core group of subscribers that the initial decline in attendance was targeted as a problem.
Because the majority of the respondents had not been too a concert in several years, this information will do very little to discover why there has been
a loss in season ticket holders year to year. Unfortunately a separate survey must be done at the next regularly scheduled event. This survey must
concentrate on the following key areas:
1. Most important reason for attending the concerts. 2. Relative importance of cost of tickets. 3. Relative importance of musical selection. 4. Input on
how the experience can be improved.
This information should be used as a catalyst for retaining this year's core subscribers; a reward for this information should be a discount on early
purchase of next season's tickets. This should be a major goal since an early indication of next year's subscriber base will give the symphony an idea
as to if this promotion and changes are

Essay On Point Of Sales
Leveraging Points of Sale and Profit–Making for Fundraising Success "POS" Point of sale is the term commonly associated with the retail industry
and involves the place of transaction between a buyer and a seller. (Kelley, p. 108) There are three major revenue streams that can leverage POS for
schools and universities; ticket sales, concessions and retail licensed merchandise. In order to make any organization profitable and increase revenue,
one must leverage every point of sale, beginning with ticket sales. There are several different ways that organizations can increase their customer
database, upsell their current customers and solidify their longtime customers, all which will help improve their revenue and overall bottom line. We
will focus on the ways that universities and schools can do this with and in coordination with sporting events and teams. The first and largest potential
for increasing revenue is through ticket sales. Depending on the team, the sport, and even the kind of season a team is having (wins/losses), all of
these can impact ticket revenue for schools and universities. Most universities already have a solid foundation of repeat season ticket holders for certain

already shown long term interest in the school, team or sport. They have continued to donate money, purchase their season tickets, and

Beachhead Market Essay

  • 1. Beachhead Market Essay [music] We're gonna talk about how to choose a beachhead market. That's very exciting. So you're in the whole ed–tech space and that's a burgeoning field. But let's focus now on the process of how Maro and Tom chose a beachhead market and why that's important. A few points about first of all, it was something that you and Tom had a passion about and you had some assets. Can you talk about Toms background and your background about why this was such a good fit? We actually paid our way through school by doing private tutoring. So, that was part of how we made our livings and actually had a background in the test prep space in particular and a knowledge of the customer that was really helpful to us to insert our craft in the persona. So, we'd... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Part of why we picked test prep is that there are a set of customers in here who are already spending this money. So, we thought about okay we could look for markets where people weren't spending any money on this problem. Maybe they didn't recognize that it was a problem. Or you could do a place where people are already spending a lot of money and there's a lot of well–funded people looking to solve this problem we ended up going with a market where there's already people spending money to solve this problem in a really clear way and as a result what we have to do is convince people to use us in lieu of another service. Which has its own challenges as opposed to convincing people to maybe use a service that doesn't exist where non action is the option. So, it's good from a beachhead market standpoint. It was something you're passionate about. There was money there because they were already spending on other things. You had a strong value proposition and you knew how to get to the customers because you had worked in the market before. This issue that you're focused on is now from our framework, is what's the competition. What's your competitive advantage and there's where maybe we should talk a little bit about blended learning. Can you say what blended learning is and why that's a competitive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even the people who do not play football know about the Australian Football League (AFL) which is the governing body of football in Australia. Majority of the people of Australia are big diehard fans of the league and the respective teams they support. Because of its popularity the Australian Football League faces tough competition from other sports in Australia. Other popular sports include soccer, national rugby league. The AFL takes every possible step to cater its audience and make their experience with AFL a memorable one. It does research and provides them with best outcomes. In turn these steps provide them with greater understanding and help them build long term relationships with the audience. All of this creates greater awareness of the sport and generates revenue for AFL. Background of the Research Most of the professional sports teams join together to form different leagues in their respective countries. The intention behind this formation of leagues is to target fans and spectators through a media channel. The whole consumer market is made up of four groups. This has become the popular avenue for businesses as it mirrors the ideas of mobility. The sheer amount of data available, coupled with the advanced operating systems and social media platforms, have created new possibilities for E–commerce organizations. • 4. Argumentative Essay On Hurricanes I have this ticket in my hand and to the outside world that is what it looks like–– just a ticket. To me, however, this ticket means so much more. This ticket is a key. This ticket will open the door for me to help those people who are in need. This ticket will illustrate for me why it is important to think of others before yourself in a world where it is so easy to be egocentric. With this ticket I will travel not to far from where I am now to Rockport, Texas. This area is one that is in desperate need at this time. It has been rocked by one of the most detrimental hurricanes the United States has seen in awhile which is hurricane Harvey. I chose this area to go to, because unlike Houston, it has not gotten the television coverage and has not received as much money for reparations either. Not that I hate my job but it's not the best job. Being a waiter at a diner in 1984 doesn't pay well and being a single mom doesn't make it any better. Well I can't complain too much because it all I got. "Mary!!!" screamed my boss Mr. Glen "get in here!!" I slowly crept into his office and shut the door. "Take a seat Mary" he said comely. "Yes?" I said nervously. "Well you being late every day is starting to effect business. "I'm sorry sir but I can't help it I have no car, I have to walk my kids to school then walk to work". "Well Mary it's not my fault either but I'm going to have to let you go". I could feel my face getting hot, I felt like I was going to cry. "But sir..." "No buts Mary here's your last check." I grabbed the light envelope out of his shaky hand and slowly walked away hoping Glen would change his mind. But he said nothing. I walked out on to the cold air and used $.15to buy a newspaper. I sat on the cold meatal bench looking for jobs in the newspaper, but all of the jobs were farther away than the diner. I could feel the tears rolling down my face asking myself, what am I going to do? How am I going to feed my kids? The third step would be to reserve the hotel. For reserving the hotel, the same steps that applied for the flight, can apply here. If traveling with a group of people on a budget, you have to be aware of the fact that hotels will not charge for a group of 2–3. Anything more than that and you will get charge for each person. To get the most for your money, reserve a hotel that is close to all the main attractions, that way, if everything is within walking distance, you will not have to spend money on extra transportation or gas and that would put extra money in your pocket. The final step would be: save, save save! Saving money is essential to any vacation. Research how much the main attractions would be and estimate how much you would spend on attractions, food, and transportation. Buying your airplane ticket and reserving your hotel early enough, will allow you to save more money so that you can spend more. Try not to eat out as much, pack your own lunch. Such a broad question brings up many notable moments from an already large selection. If I could pick one that makes me smile every time I look back onto it. It would be the first concert I ever went to. It was not only my first time hearing my favorite band live, but it was also my first time listening to live music. On top of the already intense experience, I had learned something very important that day. Through the generosity of a very kind woman, I was able to experience my very first concert. I learned that Generosity pushes beyond simple gestures and acts of kindness. It can leave a lasting impression on any person, changing them for the better. Since then, reflecting on all the moments that still bring many laughs and memories I made that day only assured me that I would remember it forever. Fatefully, on a Friday night, the day before the concert, I was currently on the computer at my house. I received a text around seven o'clock at night. Ergonomics is a scientific discipline that deals with the research and understanding between the interaction of humans and other elements of a socio–technical system. It involves conducting research into human: social, psychological, physical and biological characteristics, and using this information to optimize human performance, safety, habitability and health with regard to the design and evaluation of tasks, products, environments and jobs in a performance system (James H. and Stramler, 1993) to make them compatible with humans abilities, needs and limitations. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Carroll (cognitive view), there are two aspects of system design (Carroll, 1991). The first is "the process" of the design. Ergonomists want to determine how it is that people devise new systems, and what individual/group factors were involved in making all the decisions involved in the construct of a system (Paul R. Martin, 2011). Secondly, design requires innovation, and requires ergonomists to "proactively" supply empirical data for the future design of systems, thus improving the levels of human performance and acceptance of new artefacts (Paul R. Martin, 2011). User–centred design in technological innovation The concept of "user–centred design" was developed during the 1980 МЃs in the design of technologies (The Oxford Handbook of Cognitive Engineering, 2013). The aim of user–centred design is to describe how a human will interact with a system from a cognitive science view. These characteristics will then be shared between the cognitive ergonomists and engineers in the design process of new systems. Six important aspects of technological system design (ticket machine): (1) Visibility This system is usually placed in an area, which is crowded, and "busy", thus it must be easily seen. People in crowded placed are usually placed under stress. If the system isn't seen on first glance, the user will rather go to the ticket desk. (2) Physical Design The look and shape ... • 15. Ticket Prices On The Sports Industry Ticket Prices in the Sports Industry Why are tickets to sporting events so expensive? Ticket resale has been a concern to people who determine ticket price as well as the fans. If tickets are too expensive to begin with, then there will be a lot of unsold tickets. If tickets are very cheap, they will be purchased from the primary market quickly, and then sold on the secondary market at an increased price. Owners of sports teams and the league should allow the market to control ticket prices. Ticket prices are based off the demand of the game, team, and league which has resulted in tickets being sold at market value rather than face value. Ticket prices vary across the leagues as well as pricing strategies. Teams should continue to profit–maximize by charging various amounts for tickets in order to charge the closest amount to first–degree price discrimination. TICKET PRICE Prices for a good or service is determined by supply and demand. For tickets to sporting events, there are a set number of tickets which means the quantity is limited and set long before the season starts. The supply curve is perfectly inelastic at the stadium's capacity. This means that the marginal cost is close to zero until the stadium's capacity is reached. Depending on where this quantity lies relative to the demand curve determines whether the team will decide to sell out or have empty seats. If the team maximizes profits by not selling out, then the team will decide to have empty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Promoters worry that, as the top–grossing touring acts – the Rolling Stones, the Eagles, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Madonna – get older, very few younger acts are popular enough to fill stadiums and arenas on the two–year–long tours that superstar rock bands undertake. (Forty per cent of the seats at all Live Nation concerts go unsold.) Most galling to the four stakeholders involved in putting on a concert – the artist, the promoter, the venue operator, and the ticket seller – is the loss of billions of dollars in revenue to the "secondary market": the Internet–driven business of ticket reselling, in which ticket brokers and scalpers profit, while the people who take the artistic and financial risks hardly participate at all. American Airlines (American) made four fundamental changes to its rates. Overall, it expected to reduce coach fares by 38% and first–class fares by 20% to 50%. Travel agents therefore are both positively and negatively impacted. Small business customers are positively impacted by the fare changes. Previously, the higher full fare prices discouraged small business travel; small businesses would either decide against travel or incur the cost of a Saturday night stay and purchase a reduced fare ticket. By reducing the full coach fares, small businesses will be able to purchase more convenient flights at more economical prices. Large businesses, on the other hand, may be negatively impacted. Since many large businesses had negotiated discount rate contracts with airlines, the new full coach fare may be higher than these negotiated fares. For large businesses that did not have negotiated contracts, the fares will be lower than the previous full fare rate. Leisure travelers overall will be made better off by the new fare structure. These travelers have more flexibility and can take advantage of the advance purchase discounts and Saturday–night stay discounts. An exception to this is leisure travelers who had found "loop holes" in the old fare system by using "creative ticketing" and waiting for deep discounts. • 21. The Organisational Process Of Buying A Train Ticket This essay uses technological determinism to analyse the organisational process of buying a train ticket. In particular, I will be looking at concepts such as the rate of diffusion, the technological agency and also the views of hard and soft technological determinism. Smith and Marx (1998:14) describe technological determinism as "the human tendency to create the kind of society that invests technologies with enough power to drive history". This definition of technological determinism can be related to the process of buying a train ticket as this essay shows how organizations used technology to make this process more efficient and as a result, changed the way that society buys train ticket, which became the 'norm' now. L&J (2004:617) believe that technological determinism represent the belief that the progress of society is driven by technological innovation and this has an inevitable path. Society will evolve and adapt to these new technological changes. The way that society has changed their ways of buying train tickets and how they view buying it online is the way forward, can be best shown by the quote from L&J. Buying a train ticket has changed a lot in the last 15 years especially with the introduction of the World Wide Web which changed the way society works and this essay focuses specifically on the collection of train tickets after you have bought them and how technology has enabled us to do that. Currently StubHub's mission and vision align with current business operations but the company does not allow for different areas of improvement. The examination of the ticket comparison tool for example will lead to a competitive advantage over different e–ticket sites as it allows customers be able to examine different seats and features that retain value of the purchase. Another area of improvement that helps to align the e–business strategy is the ability to offer different currencies as StubHub is predominantly North American based and only offers prices in American dollars. The site applies this restriction which is not consumer friendly as it does not allow for the convenience of seeing the actual cost of the ticket without paying for the currency conversion and fees.... Descriptive Essay About My Dream Place Standing in awe, I review the instructions on the paper ticket I hold in my hand: "1: Close your eyes. 2: Picture your dream place to visit. 3: Insert this ticket into the ticket feeder." Following the instructions, my eyes close as I take a deep breath. What the one place I dream greatest about? I could travel anywhere; there are so numerous places I had dreamed of visiting. Shifting through my thoughts, I accordingly choose somewhere I have imagined for the longest time. I heavily exhale, opening my eyes as my ticket gets pulled into the feeder. Impatience and excitement are overcoming in the silence as I wait. Suddenly a door appears and swings open. As I step through the doorway into a blinding light, I almost lose my breath. A peaceful scenery of valleys and flowers appears. Walking down a rubble path in awe of the beautiful creations, everything prevails more breathtaking than I ever imagined. A path leads into an alluring forest as trees cascade over like a giant archway. A stream runs along the left side of the path and animals are not as frightful here as what I had known them to be before. As I reach the end of the forest trail, laughter and music becomes louder; it is a town. Filled with hope, I begin thinking maybe I will see people I once knew. Skipping down the trail a little faster, I approach a heavy wall that separates the forest and the town. Only a few people notice a new presence at first as I pull a gate open and step through. • 29. Effects Of Movie Piracy Pirated movies have grown over the last couple of years. You can see someone on any given weekend when you walk through the grocery store trying to sale you a movie. Piracy is defined by Dictionary.com as, "the unauthorized reproduction or use of a copyrighted book, recording, television program, patented invention, trademarked product, etc." Therefore, a pirated movie is when a movie is released without the owner or person that got the material copy righted it knowing or consenting to the release. Movie piracy is unethical because it skews the box office financial numbers, decreases the chance for sequels, and hurts the theaters, even though it does provide a means for people that are less likely to go to the theaters. The movie box office ranks movies by how much it grosses in the theater over the span of time that it is in theaters. The span of time can be by day, month, or year. However, we must first understand that when you watch, receive, or supply a pirated movie there is no money made by the production company. For instance, the movie may have been seen by five thousand people but if two thousand people view pirated copies then the number reported will be the profit brought in by the three thousand people. When you look at the numbers three thousand may seem large but when you think about a movie ticket being nine dollars you will only be making $2.7 million of the $4.5 million that the movie would have made in the theaters. This space had been advertised as a duplex, which by definition, entails that it would be a home that would be divided into two separate apartments where potentially two different people(s) may reside. The representation of the property being a duplex residence was made. • 34. Economic Impact On The Company Economic Impact: Often in cases of bid rigging the amount of money that the company loses is often significantly higher than the if the contract had be awarded to other firms. Given the number and costs of the change orders involved with this case, led to the final construction costs being almost $82,000 over the average of all bids from other construction firms, resulting in TBB losing a great deal of money for the quality of the work performed. Of this $82,000, $62,893 was withdrawn by Larkin Construction in the form of cash. A reasonable assumption with this money is that it was dispersed to parties involved in the bid rigging scheme. Cash would be used (as opposed to ACH transfers) to conceal who benefitted from the bid rigging scheme. These payouts ultimately are what increased the total construction costs, as the increased costs are to cover kickbacks to those involved in the scheme. Pricing Strategy, Springfield Noreasters Essays Kari Lutro Jesper Sehested Jensen Chris Reinecke–Wilkendorff Springfield Nor'Easters Ticket Pricing Plan When trying to determine the right price level for seats at the Nor'eastern minor league games, Buckingham should keep in mind that he is dealing with a very price sensitive audience. The average income in Springfield is very low, since the city manly consists of working class households. This fact is backed up by the survey that states that 94% of the respondents had a household income below $75,000. Therefore regular single tickets shouldn't be priced to high and the overall pricing strategy should furthermore include generous discounts for certain categories such as students and seniors as well as fairly cheap season tickets. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Families eat a lot, and are therefore big consumers of concession goods, which is one of the biggest incomes at a game. We want to attract people to the games, and families with only one child (38 percent of the households) can with this ticket bring an "extra child". The group ticket attracts people to come together, we want friends to bring friends to the games, maybe friend who normally wouldn't go to the game. This would also increase the concession sales. The survey found that people don't want to pay that much for each ticket if they buy a season ticket, that's why we have chosen the season ticket prices that we have. Since our prices are pretty low, and most people are not willing to pay much more for grand stand seating, we haven't made special prices for these seats. Break–even analysis Buckingham assumption about concession sales is that it will be about 50 percent of the revenue. We also assume that 80 percent of the tickets for each game will be sold. Of that, 15 percent are going to be students, 15 percent will be regular tickets, 5 percent senior tickets and 2 percent child tickets. The sale of the season ticket, 20–game and the 5–game tickets are respectively 2, 5 and 11 percent. We assume that 20 percent of tickets sold are family packages, and the last 5 percent is group tickets. We know that total cost is 1,051,879 and total sponsor income is 46,000. With the pricing plan

The major weakness in the survey was not targeting the core group of subscribers that the initial decline in attendance was targeted as a problem. Because the majority of the respondents had not been too a concert in several years, this information will do very little to discover why there has been a loss in season ticket holders year to year. (Kelley, p. 108) There are three major revenue streams that can leverage POS for schools and universities; ticket sales, concessions and retail licensed merchandise. In order to make any organization profitable and increase revenue, one must leverage every point of sale, beginning with ticket sales. There are several different ways that organizations can increase their customer database, upsell their current customers and solidify their longtime customers, all which will help improve their revenue and overall bottom line. We will focus on the ways that universities and schools can do this with and in coordination with sporting events and teams. The first and largest potential for increasing revenue is through ticket sales.
