3. How research helped me in to TV drama? My research towards TV drama helped me look at detailed magazine articles such as ‘’ TV times’’, ‘’ Radio times’’ and ‘’ Monday choices’’. It helped me look a different magazine articles because they are different to each other and the target audience is also different. The layout of these magazines are also different to each other as ‘’Monday choices’’ is more text heavy than ‘’a good grilling’’, which has more images and interview questions. The producer of ‘’a good grilling’’ has used different techniques, such as the colour of font which is red to make it more eye catching and appealing to the audience. The research was very helpful to me as I compared those articles and came up with my own idea, In my article I decided not to make it text heavy as the young teenagers wouldn't like to read it , so what I did was I balanced with pictures to attract teenagers. I have also added an introduction to make it more appealing to them so they get into the Drama. I concentrated on the ‘’good grilling’’ magazine more because they have used interview questions. Their text is more clear and easy to ready as they have used two different font colours. This makes it more easier for the reader to read and help them concentrate more. I have used the same technique because I think it looks much better spacing everything which makes it look like a clear structure.
4. How audience research helped me. Audience research helped me a lot because they gave me a feedback on whether my idea would work or not. It also helped me because I got to know if I was going the right way or the wrong way. However my first TV drama idea wasn't good enough because all it was, wasabout Drugs and money. I thought to my self that young teenagers aged 12-17 wouldn’t have these problems. They would have problems like love., so I realised it wouldn't work out because older teenagers are into these problems. I then changed it all around to real life situations such as love, money, reputation and problems at (home and college). This made my magazine article look realistic.
5. Who is my Audience and how will they respond? My main audience are young teenagers. Mainly teenage boys and girls aged 12-18 but anyone can watch it. I have related my story to real life situations as teenagers are not motivated these days with education and all they want to do is hang around outside with friends. My main aim is to those teenagers who are having a difficult teenage life, and watching my TV drama would help them improve in life, to pick better opportunities so they can have a brighter future rather than living on the streets (selling drugs and causing trouble for the community). Getting audience feedback is important because this enables you to figure out whether they like it or not, so my aim is to get honest feedback from the audience which will also help me to improve more if needed.
6. Technology used In order to take pictures I had to use a camera, which was clear enough to edit. I took pictures of college students and then used the usb cable to transfer it onto the computer. I had to use ‘ Adobe Photoshop’ to edit. I used a number of tools in Adobe Photoshop which were ‘ magic wand tool, polygon lasso tool, pencil tool and the quick selection tool’. These tools helped me a lot because in order to edit you need these tools. I used different background colours to make it blend in with my pictures and font. I used different layouts which I did in order to become successful. I used different fonts style to make it suit the magazine, I had to edit the main picture and add it to a background to make it look realistic. I used the eye dropper tool to select the colour for the text. However this will attract teenagers because it looks eye catching and the font is fancy which makes you want to read it.
7. Promoting my production In order to promote my magazine I had to make sure that my characters were appealing to them, so I had to use different characters effectively. However as you can see they are wearing trendy clothes as this is the fashion nowadays, I have used college students as my characters to make my article look reasonable. I used different colours to attract their attention, my magazine title is Jack and Jess this makes my article sound more realistic.
