1. How did you attract/address
your audience?
Ella Fuller
2. Planning
• Before we started to plan our preliminary task and main task me and my partner, created and questionnaire
to see what students were interested in and what they wanted to see within the magazine. We then asked a
large group of people and from these answers we created and planned our magazines.
3. We choose a photo of a girl holding a load of folders and
smiling into the camera, by her looking straight into the
camera lens we know that she’s engaging with her audience
which attract them to read the magazine.
We decided to
incorporate a pug
as this is a key
selling point as
students are always
look out for either
something to win
or something free,
so by advertising a
free night out with
their friends, it will
persuade them to
grab and copy and
read it.
We choose colours and maintain a
house style theme throughout, we
decided on the colours white, blue
and red as we felt that these
colours look very professional and
effective throughout the magazine.
We also felt that they would appeal to both
genders which would make our magazine have a
wide audience.
We used short snappy headlines which
would attract students towards this
magazine.
By using a female model we instantly
thought
that it would attract both genders, as on
one hand girls may look up to her as a role
model and boys may
think she’s good- looking
and therefore they want to read more
about
her and her collage experience.
Students in today’s society have to pay so much for education
that by having our magazine free and covering topics that relate
well to their situations it will attract them to read the magazine.
4. Social media is a key
aspect of teenagers
lives today, so I
decided to include
facebook and twitter
groups as this would
make the magazine
become more
popular in today’s
industry.
I used straplines which I thought
would appeal to teenagers, for
these I added strokes around the
lettering to make it stand out from
the rest of the page, this would
make the phases eye-catching for
the audience.
Looking back at our STAS I decided to allocate the
masthead at the top in the centre as this
immediately draws the audience’s attention
towards the magazine
I used both teenage boys
and girls, this would
therefore attract both
gender types because all
the models are attractive
therefore could attract the
opposite sex or the
audience could look up to
them as role models and
aspire to be like them in
the future.
In my pug I decided to write ‘free poster
inside’ as I believe that teenage girls
especially love to put posters of their
favourite bands on the wall.
I used the colours pink and blue and these are very
unisex colours and therefore will appeal to both
genders
5. I used fun and exciting pictures
to show off their personalities.
I decided to create questions that every teenage boy and girl wants to know, the exclusive gossip
inside the band itself. I also used chatty language throughout the
magazine as its usually how teenagers speak in todays society, therefore I wanted them to be able
to read, understand and enjoy the whole magazine.
