This job is working with college students planning out their classes, helping figuring out how to make
the college more efficient in what it does, to recruit possible high school students who would be
interested in the college, and reviewing over applicants resumes. This job sounds interesting because I
would work with many diverse young mature students who are taking the next step in their life.
3. Job Description
Administrators who work in admissions review applications from potential students. Applications may include transcripts
of high school grades, scores achieved on standardized tests such as the LSAT (for law schools) or the GMAT (for
business schools), portfolios of creative work, or admission essays. Admissions administrators may also manage and
perform recruitment work, traveling to high schools and education fairs to promote their schools and attract students.
4. Working Conditions
I’d be working at colleges, technical schools, institutions, or universities in an office. I’d work with
others who share the job, with the “Dean” of the school, secretaries, professors, and a thousands of
students.
5. Training & Qualifications
You need a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following; Higher Education/Higher Education
Administration, Adult and Continuing Education Administration, Business Administration and
Management, Marketing/Marketing Management. Programs in higher education administration
include classes in subjects such as school law, school finance and budgeting, curriculum development,
community relations, politics in education, and counseling. You should be excellent communicators,
able to make good decisions, organized, and hard working.
6. Job Outlook
This job employment rate is expected to increase 18% from 2014- 2022. Growth is expected as
enrollments at postsecondary institutions continue to rise, although at slower rates than they have in
the past.

1. Using a computer; Microsoft Word, Email, Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, Etc.
-Answering Emails, creating lists, comparing students, keeping records of students, etc.
-It’s beneficial because the computer is better at remembering facts and details rather than me forgetting what I need to
contact someone about, or to do, or anything. It’s a lot easier to email someone than to try and track them down and talk to them
personally.
-Email replaced letters, and Excel replaced pen and paper records.
2. Using an iPad or Device to contact and record data
-Answering Email, Contacting students, Taking notes during meetings, using internet with ease, and the ability to get apps
to make my job easier.
-It’s quick, mobile, and easy to use
-iPads and smart phones have replaced land lines and stationary cords.
3. Projectors to make presentations when I got to advertise the college to high school students

9. Summary
I still am interested in this job even though I know it will be a lot of hard work, time consuming, and
sometimes frustrating. I think this job is the one for me because I am good with organizing paperwork
and I want to work with students, this is the perfect combination of the two.
