I’ve decided to choose a multiple styles for my Final proposal. I took Abstract, Landscape and
portrait pictures for my final proposal. I did this because I like the variation in these different
pictures; I think this really brings my piece different perspectives in photography. My inspiration to
take these photos I did and edit them in the way I did was the area I was in at the time, this played a
big role in inspiring me because of the beautiful landscapes I was sat in. I took my photos with a
canon 600D and used factory setting with it, I then proceeded in to edit these photos I took in Adobe
Photoshop CS5, this where I really bought out the life and colour in my pictures. I used the vibrant
tool and the colour correction tool to edit my photos; this is because I wanted to bring out certain
colours in my pictures so that they could have a certain feel to them and really make them stand
out. I have learnt new skills using the camera, I learnt what sort of angles I would need to get a
certain kind of effect on my photo also I learnt how lighting can affect the look of a photograph
drastically by the way you view it. These are my pictures I took:
For example for this picture: I used the focus tool on the camera and on
Photoshop I used the brightness tool to make it seem dark when
the picture was bright.
Another example this picture: For this picture I used the colour tool so
that it brings out the blue in the picture also the vibrant tool it bring out the
shapes of the clouds more.
I think my strengths in my photographs is that they all have things that stand out and that they bring
the photographs to life and add a personality to them. They also have a certain colour in them that
makes them stand out. My weaknesses in my photographs are that I need to make sure all of my
photographs make sense with the theme that I have chosen.
I am pleased with all my photographs that I have taken apart from the sepia one; this is because I
think this photo would’ve been better with more colour. The photos have not turned out the way
I’ve planned; I planned these photos to be more landscape.
2. I have improved as a photographer by I take pictures of things and start to correct the image to get
what I want out of it. Also I have learnt more about the things that make a photo good and bad for
example the aperture levels. If I did this project again I would try to include more colourful images
and edit them more precisely.
