1. Evaluation of the iconic portrait photo unit 9
The programme I used to edit my photo was Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 . Here is a list of tools I used to
edit my photo in Adobe Photoshop.
I used the move to tool, to move the photo to where I wanted.
I also used the lasso tool, to lasso the purples of the eyes to change the eye
colour from brown to green.
I used the quick selection tool to select to selected the bit I wanted from
different photos
I used the crop tool as well to crop the photo to the size I wanted.
I used the eyedropper sample tool to sample a colour from the original to copy
my new photo.
I used the pot healing brush, to heal around the outside of my background which I
copied from the original
I used the eraser; to erase rough edges that where made when I used the quick
selection tool.
The settings I used camera was the pre-set portrait setting on the camera. Yes I have learnt many
new skills such as using a SLR camera. I had used all the tools before in the adobe Photoshop in

2. other tasks. I used a Canon SLR 1300 to take this photo. I think the camera worked well to take this
photo, this camera is made to take photo like this portrait so it worked very well in doing so.
Some strength in photo is that it looks very similar to the real the original photo because I went to
great lengths to make sure that I made the very similar. Strength about my editing was that it used a
lot of tools which makes my skill level high. This is a real strength. A strength in this photography is
that I have very professional changed the colour of the eyes in my photo from brown to green this,
this was done well and was very successful. Weakness in my photo, I think that the photo is not in
very good focus. I’m very pleased with my photo; I think it looks very professional and proper
because of all the techniques I used are widely used in the real photography business. I also enjoy
doing this sort photography portrait, so this made me very pleased with my photo. If I was to make
this photo again I would made change some parts such as, using a different couth because the cloth I
used did not real look like the one which is in the original. I f I was to take the photo again I would
change the cloth for one with holes in it and he same embroidered pattern it, because this would
make my photo look better a more alike the original photo. This really help with my task I was set. I
think I have real been successful in this project and make recreating this famous and well know
photography ‘The Afghan Girl’ I feel very privileged .
