4. RESISTOR
• It restricts the flow of current in
an electric circuit .
• A resistor is a passive two-
terminal electrical component
that implements electrical
resistance as a circuit element
6. CAPACITOR
• A Capacitor is a electric component
used to store energy electrostatically
in an electric field
• A Capacitor consists of two parallel
conducting plates which are
seperated by some distance
8. INDUCTOR
• An inductor, also called a coil or reactor, is a
passive two-terminal electrical component
which resists changes in electric current
passing through it.
• UNITS :- HENRY
• SYMBOL:-
9. TRANSISTOR
• A transistor is a semiconductor device
used to amplify and switch electronic
signals and electrical power.
• Transistor is three layer component with
the combination of n-type
semiconductor and p-type semi
conductor
10. • TRANSISTOR is of two types they are :-
1.N P N Transistor
2.P N P Transistor
11. MULTIMETER
• A multimeter or a multitester, also
known as a VOM (Volt-Ohm meter), is an
electronic measuring instrument that
combines several measurement
functions in one unit.
• A typical multimeter would include basic
features such as the ability to measure
voltage, current, and resistance.
12. • Multimeters can measure many
quantities. The common ones are:
• Voltage, alternating and direct, in volts.
• Current, alternating and direct, in
amperes.
• The frequency range for which AC
measurements are accurate must be
specified.
• Resistance in ohms.
13.
14. REGULATED POWER SUPPLY
There are two types of power supply
they are :-
1.Linear regulated power supply
2.Switched mode power supply
(SMPS)
15.
16. TRANSFORMER
• Transformer is a device used to converts
high Ac voltage to low ac voltage ,
• There are two types of transformers .
They are
1 . Step up transformer
2 .Step down transformer
17.
18. RECTIFIER
• Rectifier is used to convert AC input
voltage to DC output voltage
• Rectifier is of two types .They are :-
1 . Half wave rectifier
2.Full wave rectifier
19.
20. SMOOTHING/FILTER
• We need to smooth out the pulsations
to get much cleaner dc power . This is
done by filter circuit .
• Types of filters :-
1. Capacitor filter : Used to obtain
essentially a dc voltage with some
ripple .
21. 2 .RC filter : Used to reduce ripple
across a filter capacitor .
3 .LC filter : used to reduce hump
and ripple and it is used in the
places where noise should be
reduced .
22. REGULATOR
• Regulator eliminates ripple by setting
DC to a fixed voltage .
• Many regulators consists of
automatic protection ,excessive
current (overload protection) and
overheating( thermal protection) .
23.
24. ZENER DIODE REGULATOR
• For low current supplies a simple voltage
regulator can be made with a resistor and a
zener diode connected in reverse as shown in
the figure .
25. ADVANTAGES OF REGULAR POWER
SUPPLY
• The linear power supply is the
building block of every power supply
used in electronics .
• The I C used is one of the most
cheapest component in the
electronic assembly
26. C R O
• C R O stands for cathode ray oscilloscope
• It is used to observe constant changing output
signals .
