Current is a flow of electrical charge carriers

WHAT IS DIRECT CURRENT?
Alternating Current (AC) is a type of electrical current,
in which the direction of the flow of electrons switches back
and forth at regular intervals or cycles. Current flowing in
power lines and normal household electricity that comes
from a wall outlet is alternating current
Direct current (DC) is the unidirectional flow of electric
charge. Direct current is produced by sources such as
batteries, thermocouples, solar cells, and commutator-type
electric machines of the dynamo type. Direct current may
flow in a conductor such as a wire, but can also flow
through semiconductors, insulators, or even through a
vacuum as in electron or ion beams.
